The e-mail being addressed: My wife’s sister in law, a real nut if I were into labeling people and things, has hit a financial crisis since her husband just lost his job. She said the weird thing is that she "turned it all over to God" and now is not worried. You know, when I have "bottomed out" I have done that in the past and felt relief.

VISITOR: I said I am not arguing. I know I am still trying to understand. Of course, I will always be having opinions and thoughts and will present and pursue them. I haven't changed that much! Stay with me.

F.: You are not trying to understand. You are trying to defend, and what you are trying to defend is nonsense. If you were trying to understand, you would be considering pointers in the quiet rather than defending concepts and delusions. To declare that you will “always be having opinions and thoughts” reveals that at your core, you have no intention of trying to understand a set of teachings that would free you of opinions and thoughts.

But that is true-to-form among the non-Realized who think (a) they know but who (b) do not know that they know not. Persons form rigid opinions on experiences they never had. Talking without knowing what one is really talking about is the planet-wide standard now. And such talking takes place among the non-Realized via the use of mind-language which, in turn, promotes mind-speak.

You are buying into nonsense and talking nonsense. “I did that in the past too and it brought relief.” Well, eating breakfast brings relief to morning hunger, but you are hungry again by noon.

Nothing can be considered to have been “turned over to a god for the sake of relief” when the “relief” is fleeting…only momentary. To abide as the natural state is permanent. The option is either (a) to attach to the non-real, which is fleeting or to (b) Realize Fully and be done with the worry-relief cycling once and for all.

You have been invited to see that fear and anxiety and worry and escape have been your "norm." Then you were invited to see how all of the methods you used, and which the sister-in-law is using and which you are defending, never gave you a permanent solution and will not give anyone a permanent solution.

Peace comes when the snake is seen to be a rope. As long as distortion and delusion perpetuate a belief that the rope is a snake—even after the light has been cast on the rope—then false beliefs will continue, and so will the fear that delusional people experience when they think ropes are snakes.

It is delusional to think that illusions and mirages—dreamed up by ignorant persons thousands of years ago and accepted as truth by ignorant persons in the present—can address relative issues, and delusional people cannot be at peace as long as they keep taking the rope to be a snake.

[And the ignorant persons in the present are not without intelligence. They have been made ignorant by having been taught that concepts which were rooted in ignorance are true.]

That sister-in-law’s ego-state is talking and she's fooling herself. So it is. But why let her or anyone else continue to fool you? The supposed truth that you have operated under for your entire life was received from outside sources such as the church and your parents and your wife’s relatives. On this site, there is no suggestion at all that you should believe anything offered by way of the pointing and the pointing out here.

The suggestion here is that you find what you can only find via the inner resource instead of those outer resources. Your IQ is higher than anyone else’s that you know, but your knowledge avails you nothing. On the other hand, the truth is within You, and if you would but stop defending ignorance that is verbalized via mind-language and mind-speak, you might be able to hear It.

Moreover, your arguments here will avail you nothing. Any counter arguments offered here will avail you nothing. All that will avail You “something”—namely, an awareness of Reality and Truth—can only come from within. But the mind-speak of other persons and the mind-speak from your mouth is drowning out the inner guru that would speak to You if you could just be quiet.

Why believe her words, or mine, rather than investigating that which You know within but refuse to acknowledge? There is only one permanent solution, and how could anything permanent be found via the impermanent?

The location of the solution has been pointed to, but you keep allowing self to pull you back to the nonsense. Be done with it. Go the way of the reason and logic, not the way of “the nut.”

VISITOR: Hey, the biggest mistake I made was even mentioning that b****!

F.: So, be quiet. Stop quoting “nuts” and “b******” (as you call them) as if they are really onto something “good.” And stop all of your dualistic labeling of “good” and “nut” and “b****.” Physician, diagnose your self, not “others.”

Further, it is a fact that to mention her ignorance-based beliefs was totally unnecessary, but what started this thread was your jumping on board and sharing your own ignorance-based belief that "turning it over to a god in the past brought you relief."

As far as “the mistake,” there was not a “mis-take” or a “mis-taking.” There was instead a “taking,” the taking of a statement as truth when you have been told time and again that the truth can be known but cannot stated.

What you “took” was a line of BS, and instead of allowing your BS Detector to sound the alarm and call “BS” on that, you endorsed it. Someone you call “a nut” said something nutty but you agreed. What does that say about you? Suddenly years of studying the Advaitin teachings were for naught.

That is how easily the mind will distort, and that why it must go completely. If present, it will continue to think, and one of the thoughts that it will set forth is that you are Realized…or “getting there.” Yet because the “mind” is yet present, and because its very presence guarantees the presence of bogus beliefs and concepts and ideas, it will be heard.

And what was heard here was that, "After four years of study, I have not even made it beyond the second step of the seven steps to Realization." In typical dualistic form, you have two inner voices. One inaudibly speaks Truth. The other speaks falsehoods via mind-language and then converts those to audible words heard via the vocabulary of mind-speak.

In this case, mind-speak is sanctioning “the benefits of being delusional and of fooling yourself and of allowing others to fool you.” The only opportunity for any persons to find truth is to share the false ideas and concepts you believe and then be willing to at least consider any feedback that leads you to contemplating the contrary. For persons, a rule of thumb that works is, "Take every idea you believe, find the 180-degree opposite, and consider that."

VISITOR: No, I hear you. And, I am aware that I have been (I guess still am) trapped by time, memory and ego.

F.: For now, you have more than enough to consider and much to re-consider. This thread is over, and the subject of mind-language and concepts and words will end with this pointer from Maurice Frydman:

The mind was originally a tool in the struggle for biological survival. But, in the process the mind acquired the art of symbolic thinking and communication, the art and skill of language. Ideas and abstractions acquired an appearance of reality, the conceptual replaced the real, with the result that man now lives in a verbal world, crowded and dominated by words.

When Realization happen, worry ends, existence is not "dominated by words," and real worry-free peace begins. And the peace is not interrupted with the egotistical need to talk-talk-talk all day…the arrogant need to be heard. The silence becomes the “norm,” as it is with the deer today and as it was with human-like beings for millions of years prior to the manifestation of the current, very noisy condition across the globe.

The suggestion is to employ the quiet more and use your distorted and distorting vocabulary far less. Please enter the silence of contemplation. (To be continued)

Five Free eBooks

Compliments of Andy Gugar, Jr.,
the following eBooks are available without charge for you or for friends:

I.
"GOOD vs. EVIL?" or "IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY, and INSANITY?"

The content of this eBook deals with one of the most common but erroneous beliefs that the non-Realized masses cling to and which they will fight about (and even kill over), namely, that there is a planet-wide duel going on between “the forces of good and evil” in the universe.

Either (1) the ancient view is spot on: that the "ills of the planet" are rooted in evil people, in people not being religious enough or spiritual enough, and are caused solely by bad morality; or, (2) the "ills of the planet" are rooted in ignorance, stupidity and insanity and "being good" or "being moral" does not put an end to ignorance, does not eliminate stupidity, and does not treat insanity in any way.

II.
"THE VISION"

Comments regarding the free eBook entitled “THE VISION”:

“My thanks to you and Andy.” – Andrew “Mac” McMaster

“Thanks so much for the book! And, by the way, it is brilliant and the most effective pointing that you have done. It has served to help clear the remaining blockages.” – Stan Cross

“Greatly appreciate having “THE VISION” added to my Henderson resource library that is situated on the right side of my bed for easy access! Eternally grateful for what was received and what was given.” – Robert Rigby

“‘THE VISION’ is such a well-written, condensed version of the Nisarga Yoga approach to understanding and enjoying Reality that I feel it can serve as a must-read ‘meditation guide’ for all earnest seekers.” – Andy Gugar, Jr.

III.
"Sapolsky, Maharaj, and the Non-Dual Teachings"

Dr. Robert Maurice Sapolsky is an American neuroendocrinologist; a professor of biology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at Stanford University; a researcher; an author; and a Research Associate at the National Museums of Kenya.

There is much that a non-dualist or Advaitin or Nisargan can relate to by comparing and contrasting what Sapolsky reveals about the way certain troops of baboons live in Africa with the way that humans abide all around the globe.

This 152-page eBook catalogues the common, non-dual message shared by Sapolsky and Maharaj and reveals the ways that Sapolsky’s scientific research supports the non-dual pointers offered by Maharaj.

IV.
Seeking

In “PART ONE” it will be seen that most persons on the planet are not seeking, and most will never seek, but for those who are seeking, most will face several obstacles:

In “PART TWO” of this book, it will be seen why many criticized Maharaj for “changing his message in his later talks.” It will be seen that the changes were not about changing the message per se as much as about changing his methodology as he experimented with one version of the Ultimate Medicine after another in order to try to find an effective means for addressing the Ultimate Sickness.

He tried a religious version of the Medicine, a Spiritual version of the Medicine, and finally settled on a version which addressed to Sickness at its core . . . at the mental and emotional level.

V.
"THE MOST DANGEROUS BELIEF OF ALL"

“Dangerous” is a term that can only apply during the relative existence, but of those who do commit suicide, for example, how many shoot themselves in the foot over and over until they “bleed out”? None. They shoot themselves in the head. Why? In order to try to stop the noise - to try to stop the chatter of a thousand monkeys – to stop the noisy mind which is the area that stores the ideas, notions, concepts, mind-stuff, etc. which drives them into the depths of insanity.

And what are those ideas, notions, concepts, etc. called, collectively? "Their beliefs." The irony? They are not their beliefs at all. They are the beliefs of “others” that were set in place via programming, conditioning, etc. and which persons then think are their own.

And what are those beliefs rooted in, and what reinforces those beliefs and convinces persons that they are sacred and worth fighting over and even sometimes worth dying for? Blind faith.

This 337-page eBook discusses those issues in detail.
