Nothing is easier to spot than another's insanity, nothing more difficult to spot than one's own.
F.: Disagree? What could be more insane than not even knowing the correct answer to the most basic of all questions: "Who—or What—Are You, Really?"
The non-Realized think and talk and emote and behave in an insane and irrational and illogical fashion. Disagree? What could be more insane than thinking that nothing is really something...something supposedly important, something supposedly essential, something supposedly crucial? What could be more insane than lacking perspective (and having that displaced by a total lack of perspective)?
What could be more insane than believing that mirages are real? What could be more insane than being destructive or self-destructive during the relative existence? (Once, standing near a dozen or so fellows who were proud that they joined a program to treat their addiction and who claimed that they had been restored to sanity but who were all taking "a smoke break" were asked if they were still doing anything that is self-destructive and that would evidence continuing insanity. All were stumped and could not acknowledge any such behavior, even as they inhaled the smoke that kills millions of persons around the globe every year. Not a one could think of any self-destructive, and therefore insane, behaviors that were on-going.)
Recall that Louise asked: "Does the deer commit random acts of violence for no reason?" The answer is, of course, "No." Do humans commit random acts of violence for no reason, or for the most ignorant of reasons?" The answer is, of course, "Yes," and that includes random acts of violence against their own bodies-cum-consciousness.
What has contributed to such widespread, global insanity and irrationality and random acts of violence for the most ignorant of reasons? The non-Realized did not ask to be robbed during youth. They did not request that the natural tendency to question nonsense be programmed out of them (or sometimes even beaten out of them). So, to review:
A. The inner guru / inner resource is disengaged during childhood as a result of learned ignorance, so access to truth and clarity is blocked.
B. The previously-pure consciousness, having been blocked early on, no longer is able to witness purely...to differentiate fact from fiction...to distinguish between the true and the false.
C. Since the "True Self" is the Pure Witness (or, more accurately, Pure Witnessing), then the masses have no clue as to Who or What They Truly Are because the consciousness has been blocked from knowing ItSelf as a result of programming, conditioning, domestication, and acculturation.
D. The reason that so few will begin to travel the "path" in time for the bliss of Realization to happen prior to taking mahasamadhi is because most parents play the game called "let's allow our child to be influenced by the warping agents in our culture while offering no counterpoints to the lies being presented as truth."
(Site visitor Ashley lives in a southeastern state in the U.S. that is a hotbed of political and religious distortion. Courageously—relatively speaking, of course—she faced all of the slings and arrows and all of the efforts to control her actions by family and friends and her culture and removed her child from an environment wherein the child was being exposed to totally irrational and fear-based dogma. Louise is another, allowing her son to take the path less traveled, to hang on to the ability to see nonsense and to call it nonsense as well as to apply logic and reason far more often than most of the adults in his community. Yet those two are rare. Per Maharaj's estimates, for every two that are not allowing the ignorant in their societies to warp and block the manifested consciousness called "their children," two million are reinforcing in their children the nonsense that youth are being taught and are learning and are taking to be "truth.")
E. That learned ignorance is accumulated in "the mind" which stores false concepts and absurd ideas as well as false identities, so persons are trying to function with those disadvantages, leaving them in a condition that is very much like that of a computer trying to function with corrupted data and multiple viruses.
F. Among persons, the multiple viruses include multiple personalities, personality disorders, bogus concepts, false beliefs, ignorance, insanity, and a host of psychological pathologies.
G. The first false identity is the basic personality type which was adopted in an effort by the child to adapt to dysfunctional situations at home, in educational institutions, and (in 97% of all cases) in religious venues where ancient myths are cross breed with modern dogma and where the resulting bastardization of truth occurs in the most dualistic of all places.
H. As a result of the sick teachings that are stored in "the mind," the situation is that "mind"-illnesses (a.k.a., "mental illnesses" or "psychological pathologies") have become the now-customary condition among non-Realized persons around the globe.
All pathologies are aptly labeled by use of two words: the Greek word pathos (meaning "suffering") and the word "deviant" (meaning not natural, or unnatural or supernatural or driven by magical thinking).
The label is apropos, at least for the sake of discussion, since mental pathologies that support body-mind-personality identification bring about all of the suffering and misery experienced by persons on the planet because the non-Realized embrace deviancy while eschewing the natural...the nisarga.
