F.: It was noted yesterday that 6.7+ billion - according to surveys conducted internationally - are affiliated with an organized religion and / or with so-called "spiritual groups."
All of those non-Realized persons are doing things they think are useful now and will prove to be useful "later and forever." They are all trying to gain something now and trying to gain something for later.
The very desire for gain is rooted in personality, and personality is rooted in the fiction-filled, bogus-based "mind." As personality drives desire, activities are engaged in - as is the case with those billions on the planet who are engaged in religious and / or spiritual seeking - and those activities result in the assumption of more personas / ego-states. All the while, personality-driven fears and desires set the stage for more misery and suffering.
Maharaj: "It is the mind bewildered by wrong ideas, addicted to thinking: 'I am this' 'I am that', that fears loss and craves gain and suffers when frustrated."
The cancer of desire for gain feeds on itself and produces more and more sickness (i.e., more and more personality, personas, ego-states, delusion, and egotism).
What is the result of completing the "journey," then, if not gain?
Maharaj: "You gain nothing. You leave behind what is not your own and find what you have never lost - Your own being."
Your own being ... not your own doing and doingness.
The fact is, there is nothing to gain because there is no one to gain. There is the composite unity. Can the elements gain? Can the air gain? Can the conscious-energy gain? No and no and no.
That which You are is as far removed as possible from anything that can gain or lose, and both of those concepts form a dualistic pair: gain vs. loss, good vs. bad, right vs. wrong, etc. The very fact that gain is part of a dualistic, conceptualized pair proves it cannot be based in truth at all.
What do the deer in this neighborhood need? What do they desire to gain? What do they fear losing? Nothing. They already abide in that ultimate state which, over and over on this site, You are invited to abide in as well.
Maharaj: "The Ultimate state ... is that state where no needs are felt at any time, where nothing is useful for anything." How despised that pointer is to the egotistical and arrogant and narcissistic.
How despised that pointer is to would-be helpers and would-be saviors and would-be rescuers and would-be providers and would-be caretakers and would-be super-useful ones.
How despised that pointer is to the one suffering from low or no esteem who believes that he / she must give more and more to others - and must be more and more useful to others - in order to be accepted: "I am not enough ... only 'me, plus' can possibly be accepted by anyone."
How in opposition that pointer is to those who say that you must come to them weekly or who say that you must meet with them once a day or who say you must meet five times per day.
The reason it is said here that neither "floyd" nor Floyd has ever helped anyone is because - if that which is spoken by the consciousness happens to point the way along the entire "path" to Full Realization - then the "one" that was seeking disappears.
In fact, all "ones" will then dissolve and the One / the Oneness is understood and it becomes clear that there never was anyone that needed anything ... the same as with the deer. It is that understanding - not the effort and work and sacrificing and toiling - that bring to an end all effort and work and sacrifice and toil.
Then only can You truly relax and take it easy.
All of those non-Realized persons are doing things they think are useful now and will prove to be useful "later and forever." They are all trying to gain something now and trying to gain something for later.
