TODAY’S CONSIDERATIONS

To review the key pointers that would be offered were the taking of mahasamadhi only hours away:

A. The source of all relative problems always involves fanaticism.

B. Fanaticism is always rooted in the agendas of personality identifications.

C. Fanaticism also works hand-in-hand with higher-than-ever levels of the Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder are manifesting around the globe.

D. “It’s all very simple so keep it that way.”

E. “Seek what you are if you like, but it would be enough to simply find what you are not.”

F. “Question everything and everyone.”

G. “The relative existence will never be stable, but you can be.”

H. “If seeking authenticity, listen to the beat of your inner guru and allow that to be the drum which provides the beat to which you march.”

I. “There are hundreds of sources of pain, but only one source of misery and suffering.”

and

J. “If you would come to understand how to abide naturally, find a guide and then a model that are abiding naturally.”

The next topic offered for consideration is excerpted from the book WHEN ONLY THREE HOURS OF MANIFESTATION REMAIN (The "Final" Talks of Floyd Henderson):

[Continued from yesterday]

K. You Really Can Just Be (Without Being Anything or Anybody), Part Three

Once more, the unwavering sense of "Just-Being-ness" can manifest only if all illusions about self-ness and Self-ness and WHO-ness end.

What was Maharaj’s take on identity? Again, he said:

“You are afraid that you will lose your identity. This is childishness, clinging to the toys, to your desires and fears, opinions and ideas. Give it all up and be ready for the real to assert itself.”

and

“Wisdom is knowing that I am nothing.”

He made clear at the end that the Ultimate Sickness is a mind sickness - a mental illness, marked by the symptoms of “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity.” Then he made clear that "All illness begins in the mind."

He said of the mind, "Your confusion is . . . in your mind" and "Whatever is conceived by the mind must be false, for it is bound to be relative and limited” and "Distrust your mind, and go beyond."

Then he made the connection between "identity" and "mind”:

“Identity, individuality, uniqueness - they are the most valuable aspects of the mind, yet of the mind only.”

He made clear that whatever can say “I am” and whatever can believe any words which follow “I am” can never truly identify you and cannot ever be real:

Maharaj: “Once you realise that whatever appears before you cannot be yourself, and cannot say 'I am', you are free of all your 'persons' and their demands.”

He explained: “Such self-identifications are patently false and the cause of bondage.”

He also said: “The impersonal is real. The personal appears and disappears. 'I am' is the impersonal Being. 'I am this' is the person. The person is relative [whereas] the pure Being is fundamental.”

He said of “the realized” that they are “no longer bound by appearances” and that they “do not identify with the name and shape.”

When asked about how a “realized man” sees himself, Maharaj answered:

“Neither ordinary nor extraordinary . . . just being aware and affectionate, intensely. He looks at himself without indulging in self-definitions and self-identifications. He is completely rid of himself, like a man who is very rich, but continually gives away his riches. He is not rich, for he has nothing; he is not poor, for he gives abundantly. He is just propertyless. Similarly, the realised man is egoless. He has lost the capacity of identifying himself with anything. He is without location . . . placeless . . . beyond space and time . . . beyond the world. Beyond words and thoughts is he.”

He said: “The very idea of becoming ‘this’ or ‘that’ is unthinkable.”

He said: “It would be a grievous mistake to identify yourself with something external,” making clear time and again – at the end – that any notion of self or Self is false. And what can rid one of the false?

He said: “A spark of truth can burn up a mountain of lies. The opposite is also true: the sun of truth remains hidden behind the cloud of self-identification . . . .”

Having become able to differentiate between the true and the false, he was able to say:

“I am free from all description and identification. Whatever you may hear, see, or think of, I am not that.”

TODAY’S CONSIDERATIONS

To review the key pointers that would be offered were the taking of mahasamadhi only hours away:

The source of all relative problems always involves fanaticism.

Fanaticism is always rooted in the agendas of personality identifications.

The next topic offered for consideration is excerpted from the book WHEN ONLY THREE HOURS OF MANIFESTATION REMAIN (The "Final" Talks of Floyd Henderson):

 [Continued from yesterday]

You Really Can Just Be (Without Being Anything or Anybody), Part Two

However, the unwavering sense of "Just-Being-ness" can manifest only if all illusions about self-ness and Self-ness and WHO-ness end. Why do people balk at accepting the full truth regarding identitylessness? Fear and attachment to false ego-states, supported by the egotism which defends false identities.

Maharaj: “You are afraid that you will lose your identity. This is childishness, clinging to the toys, to your desires and fears, opinions and ideas. Give it all up and be ready for the real to assert itself.”

For many years, Maharaj recommended SELF-inquiry in order to find a new identity, the “True Self” or “Supreme Self” or “Infinite Self” or one’s “Godliness.” Yet later, he would say:

To just be, without any beliefs about being “this” or “that” or “THAT” or some "Special Self” is wisdom:

Maharaj: “Wisdom is knowing that I am nothing.”

To abide assuredly in the awareness that there is no “Me-ness” is to be able to enjoy fully the “AM-ness.”

Last night a woman who is a credentialed, experienced therapist / professional counselor reflected on the changes which she had seen over the last thirty years:

More serious personality disorders; more cases of neuroses and psychoses; more people touched by violence; more "relationship problems” (which aren’t relationship problems at all but are problems rooted in the individual disorders of the persons involved); more “lone wolf” attacks by individuals acting out violently; more people talking about the possibility of “a race war in the U.S.”;

more talking about the possibility of “a third world war, this time being a religious war”; more and more clients without the wisdom to understand that there are three totally different body types which have three totally different metabolic types and which need to follow one of the three specific food plans designed for their particular type; and more and more religious fanatics and more and more spiritual fanatics, generating more and more instances of magical thinking and being further and further out of touch with reality).

When I suggested that all of those have one common root, namely, “a sense of being someone and being someone who is ‘special’,” she immediately understood and agreed. Any time that a personal identity is assigned or assumed, then an "upgrade" will soon follow:

When someone says, “I now pronounce you husband and wife,” those role players will far too soon perceive themselves as “Super Husband” and “Super Wife.” At that point, more becomes necessary in the minds of both for their roles to exist. For example, all that “The Wife” needs to “exist” is “A Husband,” but what “The Super Wife” needs is "A Super Husband.”

“You're not a Super Husband! I’m outta here.”

Once upgrading happen, then a host of chaos-and-even-violence-generating identities (beyond “The Special Self” and “The Supreme Self”) can be assumed, including:

“The Not Super Husband” who kills his self-identified “Super Wife” when she informs him that she is leaving (which accounts in the U.S. for 59% of all women murdered annually);

“The White Supremacist” (who will likely endorse violence, as did Dylann Roof who gunned down nine blacks in their church);

“The Spiritual Giant” (like the woman whose body type needs protein but who is destroying that body by adhering to food laws set forth by her vegetarian guru);

“The Super Religious Ones” (with their sense of “different-from-ment” and “better-than-ment” which drives some of one sect to kill those of another sect; or those with the Catholics’ belief that “only we, among all Christians, can enter into the Kingdom of Heaven”;

or those others claiming to be Christians who think they are better than Jews or Muslims or Hindus; or those with a belief that “Christians are infidels and must be killed”; or those among the Christian Reconstructionists who think that the U.S. government should be overthrown and that a new, theocratic nation should be started up in its place with them in charge and with the Old Testament Jewish texts being the constitution for that new nation”;

or those who are sociopathic bullies – in schoolyards or in politics or in pulpits – who think that they are so different and so special that everyone should do exactly what they want them to do; or any of the others around the globe who have been told that they are so special that they deserve to be treated differently and who never had any boundaries set and who came to believe that they do not have to adhere to any societal norms at all and who actually believe that they are so unique and so exceptional that they deserve to be treated in nothing less than the most special ways of all.

See? The problems of humanity are rooted in: (1) ego-state assignment and assumption

and in (2) being driven by the ego-defense mechanism called “egotism” which leads persons to believe that they are special and deserve to be treated in a special fashion by all.

Those persons become full-blown narcissists, and many disintegrate even further psychically and suffer what is called here “malignant narcissism,” setting the stage for them to become full-blown sociopaths and psychopaths. And it all begins with the assignment or assumption of false identities which always trigger the use of ego-defense mechanisms to defend “themselves” and which always lead to a sense of special-ness.

Do you want persons to see you as some "Special Self" or "Infinite Self" or "Supreme Self"? Do you want to be with someone who is supposedly special? Are you chasing someone that many agree is “truly special,” based on her or his appearance or accomplishment? Are you enthralled by someone who claims to be special because he or she is among the wealthiest in your society? Are you trying to upgrade your own assumed identity / identities by association? Do you perceive yourself to be a “10” who will not settle for anyone who is not also a “10”?

Have your experience; then, you may – or may not – discover at some point why the wisest do not see themselves as being special and why they do not see anyone else as being special.

Only if abiding in an identity-less condition can peace and freedom manifest, and only then can the answer to the question asked in the past become clear:

“How could persons possibly bother Me?"

The fact: Persons do not have even the slightest clue about ‘where’ I truly live. Only a few on the entire planet called earth have a clue. Some might enter what is called ‘floyd’s house’ or ‘floyd’s home,’ but that is not ‘where’ I live; in fact, ‘where’ I live has nothing to do with a ‘where’ at all.” In this regard, there is actually only the how. How I abide is as the awareness, as the Original Nature, as the natural state which has no boundaries, which has no defining traits, and which does not change.

How I abide is without conditions or conditioning, without qualifications, and without limitations. I can seem to be ‘here’ one second and ‘there’ the next, but that is about ‘how-ness,’ not any actual ‘here-ness’ or ‘there-ness.’

I am not confined to a space or form; furthermore, I can enter other spaces and forms, and do so regularly (as might happen the instant you read these words). Abiding beyond consciousness and beyond beingness and beyond non-beingness, I can span the globe. . . I can span the universe . . . I have spanned all universes.

Yet such 'while manifested' spannings seldom happen anymore, requiring far more energy than is worth the effort, and it most assuredly need not happen with you. As for me, abidance will continue to happen in a whole and unadulterated and unambiguous manner until the consciousness unmanifests. Until that happens, then abidance will happen as Reality is overlaid on the relative without exception.

When the consciousness unmanifests, then the drop shall enter the ocean of energy from which it came and will span the Absolute; awareness shall be, but aware of-ness shall not. Later, other universes might be spanned as well, or might not. Yet all of that is stated, so it, too, cannot be the Truth which you know but do not yet know that You know. Tap into the source and know Truth, but even then, do not suppose that you will be able to express Truth in words.

If you would just be, without erroneously believing that you can "be this" or "be that," then all sense of personhood must end; thus, to reiterate one of the earlier pointers:

Maharaj: “The final stage of meditation is reached when the sense of identity goes beyond the 'I-am-so-and-so', beyond 'so-l-am', beyond 'I-am-the-witness-only', beyond 'there-is', beyond all ideas into the [impersonal] pure being.”

To reiterate one of the earlier pointers: Everything in the relative is much ado about nothing, and everything in the Absolute is also much ado about nothing. There is no "later," no "judgment," and no "eternal reward" or "eternal punishment," so abide naturally, now, and stop being so damn serious. Just be, instead. Relax. Enjoy.

That is the invitation over and over: to just be . . . to rest in the dark and cool blue shade; then, what happens can still happen, but it will be witnessed, without attachment, without reaction, without overreaction, without misery, and without suffering. It can all still happen, but it will happen simply, without complications or angst. And if something does not happen?

That, too, will be witnessed without attachment, without reaction, without overreaction, without misery, without complications, and without angst. If it is bliss and joy you seek, then enjoy the present Am-ness, for it provides the only opportunity that you shall ever have to know bliss and to enjoy joy.

But that, too, can only happen if you are just being, if you are not thinking that you are doing, if you understand that You are not a do-er. (As for the components of the composite unity, can elements "do"? No. Can air "do"? No. Can the conscious-energy "do"? No. See . . . no do-er.)

Finally, to paraphrase an ancient non-dual pointer that was warped by some member of one of the early sky cults:

Be still and know that you are and know that you are that so that you can . . .

Be still and know that you simply are so that you can . . .

Be still and know . . .

so that you can then just . . .

Be still, period.

Then, the sense of "quiet desperation" which Thoreau said marks and mars the lives of the "non-realized" masses will end as all sense of "desperation" fades away and what remains thereafter will be . . . the "quiet" only. So, the invitation here is this:

Be still, be quiet, and know that you really can . . . just be.

To be continued.

Please enter into the silence of contemplation.

TODAY’S CONSIDERATIONS

To review the key pointers that would be offered were the taking of mahasamadhi only hours away:

The source of all relative problems always involves fanaticism.

Fanaticism is always rooted in the agendas of personality identifications.

Fanaticism also works hand-in-hand with higher-than-ever levels of the Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder are manifesting around the globe.

“It’s all very simple so keep it that way.”

“Seek what you are if you like, but it would be enough to simply find what you are not.”

“Question everything and everyone.”

“The relative existence will never be stable, but you can be.”

“If seeking authenticity, listen to the beat of your inner guru and allow that to be the drum which provides the beat to which you march.”

“There are hundreds of sources of pain, but only one source of misery and suffering.”

You Really Can Just Be (Without Being Anything or Anybody), Part One

Previously, the following invitation was offered:

"Become aware of a sense of beingness ... of the I-Amness only" and then

"belief in the “i” and the “I” will end," along with all sense of "I-ness" and "self-ness" and "Self-ness."

Related to those pointers, reflect on this: of all of the considerations that have been offered throughout the last two decades, there are those dealing with one subject in particular that seekers have made light of or have even dismissed completely by calling the pointers "way too philosophical" or "mere hyperbole" or "pie-in-the-sky talk" or "notions that are far too theoretical" or "wholly unrealistic" or "an abstraction" or "entirely impossible." What are the pointers so many have considered "impossible"?

These:

1. "There is no do-er" and

2. "There is no one to do anything" and

3. "You really can just be (without being anything or anybody)" and

4. "For you to merely be does not prevent anything that has been happening from continuing to happen, but whatever happens can happen even as you . . .

(a) are merely being and as you

(b) are clear that there is no "you" that is doing anything and as you

(c) are aware that you are not someone who is doing something."

Here, for example, teaching (or more exactly, "un-teaching") can happen without any belief in "teachers" and without any belief that "I am a teacher." Too, employment can happen without believing that you are "The Employee"; "employering" can happen without believing that you are "The Employer"; parenting can happen without the assumption the false identity of "The Parent"; "wifing" can happen without believing that you are "The Wife"; and "husbanding" can happen without believing that you are "The Husband."

Over the years, one pointer in that regard has been offered time and again to the many who have come here in misery because (A) they had assumed a co-dependent role but (B) the one who was sustaining that false image by playing the co-dependent counterpart had decided to stop playing. This consideration was offered to one person who was trapped in his mind-generated misery and suffering around the "loss" of a false role and who was convinced that, "if he could just make things right in his relationship, then he would be happy and peaceful":

Neither happiness nor peace have anything to do with “being in love” or “being in a good relationship.” Your misery has nothing to do with “having lost love” or “being in a bad relationship.”

Happiness and peace only come if you are living naturally . . . abiding as your original nature. The deer that live naturally in this area are at peace internally, no matter what the external conditions of their environment might be, including: hot or cold; with a mate or not; having the perfect bedding or not; having sex or not; having the perfect food source available or not.

Any interruptions of your peace, and any manifestations of misery and suffering, are about your programming, your conditioning, your acculturation, your domestication, your indoctrination, your brainwashing, your concepts, your beliefs, your attitudes, your assumed personas, and your ideas. Programming and conditioning will always produce a warped "mind" which misperceives all.

Acculturation will inspire blind belief in ancient myths and superstitions that will, in turn, control your behavior and dictate what you expect (and demand) from others; acculturation will also inspire you to allow outside influences to determine what you think is "good" or "bad," what you think is "acceptable" or "unacceptable," and what you (mistakenly) think is the source of "happiness" or "misery."

And domestication and brainwashing and indoctrination will convince you that what is actually natural is unnatural and that what is actually unnatural is natural. It is not natural, for example, to become so emotionally-intoxicated in the name of “love” that one would strike out at the (former) object of that supposed “love.”

It is not natural to believe that one who becomes emotionally-intoxicated and strikes out at you is evidencing “love.” It is neither logical nor sane nor natural to mistake being “in heat” for REAL LOVE. The deer that populate the area around this homestead do not mistake "being in heat" with being “in ‘love' " or "in LOVE."

They are merely witnessing what happens without any concepts being involved in the process; thus, LOVE is NOT that which results when your limbic brain system releases pleasure-producing chemicals when you are attracted to someone, and LOVE is NOT the purely physical response that automatically drives all species to propagate.

Moreover, it is not natural to assume an ego-state as an identity. In that regards, consider: ego is believing that there’s a vast multiplicity arranged in a hierarchy and that you’re the pinnacle; humility is knowing that you’re nothing, no-thing; LOVE is knowing that you are everything. As for your assuming several “love”-related ego-states, consider:

If you cling to the false identity of "husband," you shall never find that which is real, so peace will never happen consistently. If you abandon all false identities, then "husbanding" or "not husbanding" can happen . . . and consistent peace will happen either way. To dwell as your natural state is to function as the no-concept, non-dual reality and Reality. As that natural state, no attachment happens since there is no “one” to attach to anything.

Here, there is no belief in any concept, and there is no belief in anything that is dualistic. To believe that "A" can be attached to "B" is duality. That is quite different from knowing that you and your "partner" are not-two but are One. Persons are driven by fears and desires that are based in the delusions they take to be truth, and of all the delusions that drive persons, their desire to be loved and their fear that they will not be are the most influential.

Too, all fears and desires and perceived “needs” are taken to be real as a result of unnatural programming, unnatural conditioning, unnatural acculturation, unnatural domestication, unnatural brainwashing, and unnatural indoctrination.

The unnatural belief in personal attributes and the subsequent belief that “a,” “b,” and “c” are prerequisites for happiness and peace are, in fact, based in the body-mind-personality identifications which operate under the auspices of your programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, brainwashing, and indoctrination which, in turn, generate a sense of misery and suffering.

Another seeker was offered the consideration in these terms: If you cling to the false identity of “husband,” you shall never find what is real, so peace will never happen consistently. If you find what is real, then “husbanding” or “not husbanding” can happen . . . and consistent peace will happen either way.

To another, this explanation was offered: If you abandon all false identifications, then “husbanding” or “not husbanding” can happen without "disturbing the peace" either way.

At that point, ego, identities, and misperceptions shall be transcended. “Husband” was a figment of someone’s imagination, a label dreamed up only about 800 years ago after millions of years of “human-type experiences” happened without that false identity.

You have bought into someone’s imagining and allowed someone else to assign that role to you. Ever since, that role has determined how you feel and think and behave. Now, misery (and even murder during "breakups") happens in defense of a figment of the imaginings generated by programmed “minds.”

How to be free of the effects of the programmed “mind”? Understand that the “mind” is the root of all illusion. But how to be rid of the “mind”? It must be turned in on itself, so to speak, in order that all of its fallacious concepts can be seen to be untrue. (What actually happens is that some vestige of pure consciousness becomes aware of the condition of the blocked consciousness and discards the content of the fictional “mind.”)

In that light of awareness, the “mind” is burned away like a skin cancer that is exposed to the light amplification of a laser; then, the belief in untruths is allowed to “die” (i.e., “to cease” or “to disappear”). Put more simply, because the mind is filled with notions and concepts and ideas and perceptions etc. and because notions and concepts and ideas and perceptions etc. can all be grouped into one category - beliefs - then one can get rid of the mind by simply abandoning all beliefs.

Afterwards, the “pathway” to Truth is cleared of the obstacles of deceit and can be followed step-by-step to full realization, to full liberation, to full freedom.

Again, is the solution to never marry? Of course not, yet the only way to avoid your emotional intoxication and emotional pain is to accept that marriage might happen or might not, but in either case it must happen without the playing of phony roles and without the adoption of false identities if peace is to be maintained.

By the way, what some call “the True Self,” just like the imaginary “husband,” is also formless. The "True Self" is not “the True Witness” if you assume that witness to be something with a form. More accurately, it is merely "formless, pure, accurate witnessing." Abandon the goal to preserve “husband” or to mourn the “death” of “husband” and make it a goal to develop the ability to witness objectively and purely.

After that, "husbanding" or "wifing" might happen or might not . . . might continue or might not; in either case, however, there will be no persona-driven emotional intoxication and no destructive overreaction. Seeing that will free you of the effects of the emotional intoxication and the emotional hangovers that happen as false identities "come" and as false identities "go."

To be continued.

Please enter into the silence of contemplation.

TODAY’S CONSIDERATIONS

To review the key pointers that would be offered were the taking of mahasamadhi only hours away:

1. The source of all relative problems always involves fanaticism.

2. Fanaticism is always rooted in the agendas of personality identifications.

3. Fanaticism also works hand-in-hand with higher-than-ever levels of the Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder are manifesting around the globe.

7. “The relative existence will never be stable, but you can be.”

9. “There are hundreds of sources of pain, but only one source of misery and suffering.”

10. "If you would come to understand how to abide naturally, find a guide and then a model that are abiding naturally."

The next topic offered for consideration is excerpted from the book WHEN ONLY THREE HOURS OF MANIFESTATION REMAIN (The "Final" Talks of Floyd Henderson):

 [Continued from yesterday]

If You Would Come To Understand How To Abide Naturally, Find A Guide And Then A Model That Are Abiding Naturally, Part B

The closest that a seeker just beginning the "journey" can come to understanding the nisarga / natural state is to understand that when “the realized” say "I," there is no doubt at all that the "I" that is speaking is a speck of manifested consciousness and nothing more.

Note the other "lessons" that the deer can offer by way of contrasting natural living vs. unnatural or supernatural living: Having never been programmed, the deer will never wonder, “Who am I, really”? It will not ask, “Wonder what will happen when I die”? It will not shout in frustration someday, “I don’t even know who I am!” It will not leave the doe by which a speck of consciousness called “a fawn” manifested, proclaiming, “You just don’t look as appealing to me since you had that fawn.”

The doe will never announce, “I’m leaving you for another buck because you’re not good enough for me and your beliefs don’t mirror mine and I can only be in a relationship with a deer that is compatible with me" (meaning, a deer that is really an exact, opposite-sex version of me). Unencumbered by ego and egotism, no deer will find itself trapped someday in a mindset that believes "I am really only capable of loving me or a mirror image of me . . . only capable of loving some phony image that I take myself to be."

And if the doe were to leave, the buck would not hunt her down and kill her (which is the scenario that accounts for 59% of all murdered human females killed annually in the U.S. during a breakup with "him"). The buck would never eat fermented berries to celebrate a happening or to mourn a happening and then run down a trail at a high speed while intoxicated from such berries and veer off the deer trail and crash into a tree and kill itself. Only humans do that sort of thing.

The deer will never have to repeat over and over a mantra such as “I AM . . . I AM . . . I AM” in order to free itself of having been programmed to believe that it really is all of the labels that can follow the words “I am.” It does not believe that “I am this doe’s husband” or “I am that fawn’s father” or "I am the owner of this piece of land and will fight for my territory" or "I am the achiever who will accumulate more than I already have." Do “husbanding”-type happenings happen nevertheless? Yes.

Can “fathering type” happenings still happen with the deer? Yes. Yet there are no false identifications which accompany those happenings. Do feelings rise and fall among the deer? Yes. But do emotions and emotional intoxication happen (a phenomenon that can only occur if an ego-state is assumed and then believes that it is being hurt or threatened or interfered with)? Of course not. That would all be unnatural, and the deer that has not been conditioned or domesticated can only live naturally.

Because all, including seekers, have been programmed and conditioned and domesticated and acculturated and brainwashed and indoctrinated to define "self" by following the words “I am” with dozens and scores of labels, at the earliest stage of nisarga yoga they are invited to become aware of that same sense of beingness - of “Amness,” of the "Is-ness" - but of the I-Amness or Is-ness only.

Eventually, along the "path" to realization (defined by Maharaj “freedom of ignorance”) the belief in both the “i” and the “I” will end. All sense of "I-ness" and "self-ness" and "Self-ness" will end. THAT which is beyond beingness and non-beingness will be understood.

Then, a sense of beingness only remains, but abidance as THAT happens as well, thus: I AM THAT; I AM. Functioning for the remainder of the manifestation then happens with an incredible lightness of being. That is what dwelling in the natural, nisarga state looks like. A mindless deer can pull that off flawlessly.

That being the case, don’t you suspect that any human – at least any sane human - could do the same if willing to abide naturally rather than unnaturally or supernaturally? To be continued. Please enter into the silence of contemplation.
