THE LIGHTNESS OF WITNESSING WHEN NOT ACTING OR REACTING

One morning when I was still living on Lake Conroe, one wave of rainstorms passed and another was on its way. What to do? Do you see the insanity of even asking that question? 

Do you see the insanity of persons facing a supposedly “desperate” rainstorm and concluding that they must “do” something desperate, must go into desperation-and-emotion-or-feeling-driven motion, must take desperate action, must try to take charge, and must work or manipulate to take control?

Here, the darkness and the sounds and the chill of winter rainstorms are witnessed just as the light and quiet and warmth of sunny days are witnessed.

Year round, storms will come; year round, storms will go. The sunlight will only appear to come; the sunlight will only appear to go. Yet the light is what is always there, just as you are always there.

If blocked off from the light by storms, you will not see the source of the light; if blocked off from The Light, you will not see the Real. You might (A) mistake a coiled rope for a snake; or, you might (B) have been fooled into mistaking a snake for a rope.

From the state of self-ness and self-ish-ness, you may see the false and mistake it for the Real: the false person; the false solution; the false light; the false rescue rope that is mis-perceived and which is actually a snake.

To remember that which is authentic is to allow pure witnessing only to happen, and by standing still at the window of Reality and viewing all that just appears to be happening outside the window - with no desperation-or-delusion-or-emotion-driven actions being inspired - the storms will be seen to do what they do.

From that stance, there can be no insane notion that I must jump into the middle of the rainstorm in order to do myself some good, that is, in order to do my “self” - some “false self” - some “good.”

The bliss need not be interrupted by the relative storms if the message behind the words of Maharaj are clear when he said that as with the sun comes light, so with the sense of the Real and the authentic comes bliss.

Conversely, he could have said, “With the absence of light and entrapment in the darkness, so with a sense of self (or ‘self-ness’ or ‘self-ish-ness’) comes misery and suffering and even pain.”

The fact is that the masses are indeed trapped in the darkness of self, of personality. Look at the basic, primary types which manifest before scores of other personas are imposed by, or assumed within, the planet’s cultures; then, try what the realized poets John Lennon and Yoko Ono suggested and imagine:

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Perfectionist” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained.  

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Rescuer / The ‘Love’ Seeker” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained.

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Image Maker / Performer” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained.

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Individualist” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained.

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Knowledge Seeker” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained.

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Fearful / Dependent” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained.

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Enthusiast” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained.

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Controller” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained?

Imagine if the hidden agendas and drives and fears and desires of “The Avoider” false self were abandoned and only the sense of the real remained?

In the darkness, whichever of those types are motivating thoughts and words and deeds will join with the other forces of darkness - the other ego-states assumed as true identities - and will drive away even the slightest chance for seeing the real to continue:

Maharaj: “There is no darkness in the midst of light.” When we are absorbed in other things, in the not-self, we forget the not real, the false “Supreme Self,” the false “Infinite Self,” etc.

In the ignorance of darkness, a desire for attachment or attachments will manifest. Independence will no longer be given any value and dependence will be assumed to be the solution for any problem. Then, ignorance and harm and misery will eventually prevail:

Maharaj: “Why forget the “Self” through excess of attachment?” He would eventually say that wisdom lies “not in focusing upon what you think you are but in seeing all that you are not.”

See that never being separated from the real means never slipping into any personality and allowing fears and desires to drive you. Once a fear is triggered as a result of having assumed a persona - such as, “The Homeowner Who Is About to Lose Her / His Home” or “The One Who Deserves So Much More Than Has Been Given” - then the false Self is forgotten. 

With realization, there is always enough; with the not-selves, there is never enough, triggering want and fear and desire and, yes, even depression and anger over not having more.

When that happens, all that has been understood is forgotten; all sense is forfeited; sanity is cast aside and then risky, reckless behavior and attachment can follow.

It is the “not-selves” which Maharaj mentioned that will take you out of contact with reality / Reality (with the AM-ness and the THAT-ness) which will cast you into darkness;

which will take away the lightness and replace it with the heaviness instead; and which will eventually take you to ruin and injury and “harm of self and harm of others” (relatively speaking):

Maharaj: “You do not tidy up a dark room. You open the windows first. Letting in the light makes everything easy.”

The challenge while the consciousness is manifested is two-fold: (1) Developing the ability to deal with - or move away from - the non-realized who are in darkness and (2) dealing with the darkness which is hindering you, relatively speaking.

Emotional intoxication, always rooted in the agenda of one or more personalities, will call you into motion. Racing about, you will mis-perceive the most destructive actions as being the most constructive actions. When a siren calls, then an inner captain (an inner resource) should be heard as it “Blows the Still”:

Maharaj: “When you stand motionless, only watching, you discover yourself as the light behind the watcher.”

Then, you will be placed back in touch with reality / Reality - the pure awareness via consciousness - which provides the light and The Light:

Maharaj: “At the root of my being is pure awareness, a speck of intense light.”

It is that intense light which must first shine if lightness is ever to come, and it is that light which must continue to shine if the continuation of lightness is to manifest.

Only under those conditions can dancing lightly happen.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you." 

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and 

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and 

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

--Pope John Paul II 

"There is no hell."

--Pope Francis, the current pope

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
