TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. [See the offer in gold text following this post for details on how you can watch a retreat on video which includes a detailed discussion of all seven of the steps on the path as used by Maharaj]

2. Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns. See the green text after today's post for the full meaning and implications of that.

3. A new video ("Number Ten: Awakening Together Satsang, March 2018") has now been added in the far right column of this page, offering the opportunity to view a recent 2018 satsang session with Floyd being interviewed by Regina and Jacqueline of "The Awakening Together Group." (See the details in the blue text after this post.)

YOU ARE NOT THE MIND

Many seekers never make it beyond the challenge of completing the second step on the reverse “path” where they must understand that the human mind shifted from being an asset to being a liability and, therefore, must be discarded.

“But what would that discarding leave?” most ask.

The reply: “All of the rest of the rest of the brain which is elemental and natural, as opposed to the mind which has become totally unnatural.”

Originally, human-like “beings” had no "mind part" of the brain. They abided under the auspices of the brain only. Later, they would abide under the auspices of a mind focused on survival. Eventually, they would abide – as is the case nowadays - under the auspices of a nonsense-filled, irrational mind which is bent on self-destruction rather than survival.

Early on, the adult human brain had a one-cup size, and the parts of the brain now referred to as “the mind” - where information could be stored and from which information could be retrieved – did not exist.

It was not until the adult human brain evolved from its original one-cup size to its present 3-1/2 cup size that any human ever had "a mind," that is, ever had those areas of the brain where information could be stored and from which information could be retrieved.

So a part of the brain is now capable of storing and retrieving information, and once that part of the mind became filled with nonsense via programming, conditioning, etc., a nonsense-filled mind formed.

But earlier, for many years, the information stored in the mind and recalled on occasion was, in terms of the relative existence, an asset because it facilitated the survival of the species.

The earliest version of "the mind" was originally an asset for humanity when it was filled with facts, such as when Thorson witnessed Rickback fall off a cliff and break into pieces on the rocks below and then Thorson stored in the mind-part of his brain the intuitive message, “Take caution around the edges of cliffs. The potential is an event which will not contribute to the survival of the species.”

Now, however, as a result of distorted and nonsensical programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, indoctrination and brainwashing, the mind - as Maharaj made clear in multiple warnings - is a liability.

The reason that Maharaj suggested that “ . . . You should go back, reverse, to the source” and “Follow the same path by which you came” is because it was during the “coming in leg” when foolishness was added, when, historically, each child is exposed to the hand-me-down ignorance and insanity which is being passed down to all children and which relocates them mentally and emotionally to the Land of Suckerdom where most of them will spend the rest of the manifestation.

The “realization” process, Maharaj said, is about nothing more than taking the steps required to be free of all of the learned ignorance which has taught.

It has been shown repeatedly on this site that "The Causes of the Ultimate Sickness" become "The Symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness" to the degree that "The Causes" (distorted and nonsensical programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, indoctrination and brainwashing") result in the passing down from one generation to the next the symptoms of the Sickness which Maharaj identified as "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity." Then, once the symptoms manifest in one generation, then those symptoms become the cause of the Sickness being passed down to the next generation.

So the transmission of the Ultimate Sickness now involves entrapment in a cycle of nonsense and what Maharaj called "learned ignorance."

You may have heard someone report something like this: "Well, my son brought home the crud from school, he passed it on the sickness to his brother and sister, they passed the illness to me, and I passed it on to my husband. We're all sick as can be."

The same happens with the Ultimate Sickness except it starts with the adults. What do their distorted and nonsensical programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, indoctrination and brainwashing generate? A crud-filled mind, now passed down to everyone.

Thus, this is a key point in understanding what the Sickness is about and how it is to be treated:

If persons were to all become reasonable and rationale in a flash, they would see that the greatest challenge being faced but ignored all around the globe is persons being fooled and then all acting the way that those playing the role of "The Complete Fool" act.

Maharaj said: "There is no such thing as peace of mind.”

I added: “There is only peace if you are out of your mind” which is actually “their mind” which has been “transplanted” into your head.

Yet seekers have told me, “What you’re asking us to do at the second step, to be rid of the mind, is . . .

“impossible”;

“a totally stupid idea”;

and / or

“insane in itself.”

In fact, it was quite easy for me to get rid of the mind once I realized how grand a liability it was. It was actually very simple after I realized that there is no such thing as “my mind.” There is only “their mind” which was passed on to me and which became stored in certain parts of my brain.

I had to realize that I did not come up with what is in “my mind.” THEY did.

Even as a child I was able to witness “my parents” and their “adult friends” and “their relatives” who became “my relatives” and I was able to see astounding levels of the “ignorance and stupidity and insanity” which Maharaj referred to as symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness.

They proudly self-identified as “East Texas rednecks.” They lied. They talked crazy s**t. They were religious hypocrites. They were more often than not white supremacists.

They were right-wing, religious fanatics whose blind faith led them to believe without any questioning at all every word of their Southern Baptist Evangelical preacher’s literal interpretation of everything in their supposedly holy book. And they were violent if their beliefs were challenged (which I often did).

Even as a five-year old and a six-year-old child, I was calling BS on their “Great Flood” tale, on their “survived three days in the belly of a whale” tale, and on their “all humans come from one man, one woman, and one son who killed his brother” tale (“So who did the remaining son have sex with to keep the baby-making deal going?”)

When I questioned all of that (and more), I became the rebellious target of their anger and violence.

When I “disrupted” Ms. Myrtle’s Sunday School class by challenging the nonsensical stories being passed on as truth, my dad would be called and I would be taken home and forced to drop my jeans and would be whipped with the buckle end of a U.S. Navy belt left over from my dad’s WWII uniform. (Such was the result of his belief in the “Spare the rod and spoil the child” rule in his "holy book.")

When my sister saw the violent practice about to begin once again, she would go to the bathroom and collect the cotton balls and alcohol which she would use to rub down the bleeding wounds on my back and legs after the administering of dad’s punishment for my having the audacity to question “the holy word.”

All of that is what I witnessed and experienced as a child as a result of “their minds” and “their beliefs stored therein.” Seeing all of that, it became easy for me to discard what had been thought to be “my mind” which I came to see was not my mind at all. It was a mind which had been made by pumping it full of the ignorance and stupidity and insanity which filled their minds.

But what about you? Many cannot relate to all of the events I experienced early on, but all were programmed, conditioned, etc.

One should not have to go through such extreme events as described above in order to also be able to see that (1) much of what everyone is taught is total nonsense, rooted in ignorance, stupidity and insanity and to see that (2) the mind is a cesspool of dimness and darkness and denseness.

Yet egotism about how great one’s parents are or were leads to the conclusion, “Hey, screw you Floyd. They obviously did a helluva of a job – look how well I turned out” and that arrogance-based belief leads most to cling to all that was passed down to them.

I communicated recently with a professional baseball player whose story includes being driven from early on, getting the big pro contract, playing on a team that was a contender, bringing in millions, ultimately being unfulfilled, throwing it all away to become a janitor, then finding the non-dual message, and now playing once more but as "a free agent."

That should be the story of everyone. You were programmed, conditioned, etc. to do what “they” wanted. You tried it their way or you’re still trying it their way. Yet one who does what "they" want is not free, and one who is not free cannot be happy. Ask anyone locked away in prison. Or ask anyone locked away in “their mind,” in the mind of others, and being driven by their nonsensical beliefs.

See, when it comes to ending the suffering and the misery and the pain of following the dictates of a mind that is not even your own, you must become a free agent . . . free of “their” influence. That would be the goal for all who are sane.

Are you really willing to become a free agent, or do you want to continue to live under their influence, really being nothing more than “their agent,” an agent of their will, trying to please others and do what others expect, even though their minds are cesspools of nonsense?

Again, “There is no such thing as peace of mind”

and

“There is only peace if you are out of your mind” meaning – actually – out of the control and influence of “their” mind.

So what else did Maharaj have to say about the mind specifically?

WHAT HE SAID:

"All illness begins in the mind."

"Your confusion is . . . in your mind."

"Whatever is conceived by the mind must be false, for it is bound to be relative and limited."

"Distrust your mind, and go beyond."

"There is no chaos in the world except the chaos which your mind creates."

" . . . The mind obscures and distorts."

"It is the mind that creates illusion."

"There is no such thing as peace of mind. Mind means disturbance. Restlessness itself is mind."

"Don't rely on your mind for liberation. It is the mind that brought you into bondage. Go beyond it altogether."

"Beyond the mind there is no suffering."

So if the problem centers in the mind, and since a sick mind - obviously - cannot heal a sick mind, then what is the solution, per Maharaj?

"Stop making use of your mind and see what happens."

"Learn to separate yourself from the image and the mirror. Keep on remembering: I am neither the mind nor its ideas."

"There is no such thing as mind. There are ideas . . . ."

"Abandon the wrong ideas, for they are false and obstruct your vision . . . ."

"The death of the mind is the birth of wisdom."

"To know that you are a prisoner of your mind - that you live in an imaginary world of your own creation - is the dawn of wisdom."

"I have no mind . . . ."

Want to be free of the mind? Maharaj advised, then . . .

"Reach a state of zero-concepts."

"As to my mind, I have no such thing. There is consciousness in which everything happens."

"I am double dead: not only am I dead to my body, but to my mind, too."

"I find I have lost the mind irretrievably."

[If the mind goes, then peace comes, and if peace comes, then going and doing and zooming and racing about also go.]

WHAT HE DID NOT SAY AT THE END:

"Your confusion is a result of the fact that you have accumulated too little knowledge of dogma."

"Your confusion is a result of the fact that you have a spiritual malady and are not spiritual enough."

"Your confusion is a result of the fact that you have not completed the entire Self-Inquiry process."

NOR DID HE SAY AT THE END:

"There is no chaos in the world except the chaos which comes from having accumulated too little knowledge of dogma.”

"There is no chaos in the world except the chaos which comes from people not being spiritual enough."

"There is no chaos in the world except the chaos which comes from not knowing the Supreme Self."

NOR DID HE SAY AT THE END:

"To know that you are a prisoner of your ignorance of religion and of your inadequate knowledge of dogma is the dawn of wisdom."

"To know that you are a prisoner of your sick spirit, of your spiritual malady, is the dawn of wisdom."

"To know that you are a prisoner of your insufficient understanding of the Supreme Self is the dawn of wisdom."

Consider: Being mindless is far from a detriment. The content of the mind blocks one from tapping into the pure universal consciousness. To be mindless is to be able to tap into the pure universal consciousness, is to be able to tap into full awareness, is to be able to tap into the understanding of the functioning of the totality, and is to be able to tap into the true wisdom accessible via the "inner guru."

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."
--Pope John Paul II

"There is no hell."
--Pope Francis, the current pope
in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]

YOU ARE NOT A BODY
(and you are not a composite unity
nor
anything created
nor
anything born
nor
anything personal
nor
anything which shall survive in any human or human-like form)

So what did Maharaj have to say about the body specifically?

"Subsequent to that 'I Am' and body-mind [that is, following the manifestation of the consciousness and the assumption of false identifications] there occurs what you call 'spiritual seeking' or 'spiritual knowledge'. This is nonsense."

"Looking outside for light and sound, all disciples undergo some spiritual experience and that itself is bondage. They compare their experiences with others. Those disciples think they are very advanced.”

“They are attracted to the experiences of sound and light, etc., because they identify themselves with the body. They want a shape and design; therefore, they revel in experiences which indicate shape and design."

"I appear to hear and see and talk and act, but to me it just happens, as to you digestion or perspiration happens. The body-mind machine looks after it, but leaves me out of it. Just as you do not need to worry about growing hair, so I need not worry about words and actions. They just happen and leave me unconcerned, for in my 'world,' nothing ever goes wrong."

" . . . Remain unaffected. This complete aloofness, unconcern with mind and body, is the best proof that - at the core of your being - you are neither mind nor body."

“From the Absolute no-knowing state, spontaneously, this consciousness ‘I am’ has appeared—there is no reason, no cause.”

"Prior to taking this form, you were formless; spontaneously the form came, and when the form came there was a natural longing to return to the formless state. When you want to return to the formless, desireless state, then only you come here, [to the loft] to seek what you are. The consciousness has to know the consciousness. When it realizes itself, then only do you return to normal."

"After the information given to you by the mother, that you are a boy or girl, all your further acquisitions are by hearsay."

"Understand that it is not the individual which has consciousness; it is the consciousness which assumes innumerable forms."

“In order to manifest itself, the consciousness needs a frame, a particular construct in which it can appear.”

“Consciousness is present everywhere, but knowledge of that consciousness is dependent on the form.”

“Every organic being, whether an insect or a human, depends on food. All these flowers, this foliage, is our antecedent state.”

[Emphasizing that you are not the body]: “When you travel in a car, are you the car?”

[So what "you" which is "traveling in or moving about in "the car" called "the body"? The conscious-energy.]

“ . . . You are the light.”

[That is, you are energy, specifically, the conscious-energy. As scientist Szent-Gyorgyi said, “What drives life is thus a little electric current, set up by the sunshine.”

“From birth, what has made the body grow? It is no power in the world. It is the power of beingness, the atom, the Self, the consciousness . . . call it what you will.”

“When the birth is disproved, the great noble meaning of spirituality and the meaning of this world—everything—is disproved" and “If they come face-to-face with that root, they will be stunned into silence.”

[Thus those who talk and talk and talk have not realized that root.]

" . . . By clinging to the body, you hand yourself over to time and death - you are imposing it on yourself."

"Don’t you see that all your problems are your body’s problems - food, clothing, shelter, family, friends, name, fame, security, survival; all these lose their meaning the moment you realise that you may not be a mere body."

"I cramped myself into a small thing, a body; I made myself a fragment and became needful. I need so many things as a body."

"Consciousness opens the gate for you to transcend consciousness. There are two aspects; one is conceptual, dynamic consciousness which is full of concepts, and the other is transcendent consciousness. Even the concept 'I Am' is not there. Conceptual, qualitative Brahman, the one that is full of concepts and is qualitative, is the outcome of the functioning body."

"It is selfishness, due to a self-identification with the body, that is the main problem and the cause of all other problems."

"Consciousness has identified with a form. Later, it understands that it is not that form and goes further. In a few cases it may reach the space, and very often, there it stops. In a very few cases, it reaches its real source, beyond all conditioning."

"It is difficult to give up that inclination of identifying the body as the self. I am not talking to an individual, I am talking to the consciousness."

"I have told you many times what your true state is, but, through force of habit, you again descend into body identification. A stage has now arrived at which you must give up this bodily identification. The bodily activities will continue until the body drops off, but you should not identify with them."

"It is not identification as a person, as you think. The body is an aid for the manifestation of consciousness, for experiencing. So long as this consciousness exists, it needs an instrument; without the body, consciousness cannot exist in that form.”

“What is lost is the feeling of being a separate entity. A jñani is like an unborn child: the consciousness is the child when it is born, and the child is sick. This material, objective body is sick. The jñani cannot be sick."

"Having stabilized in the consciousness, the next step is to be in a position to observe the consciousness, and all the play that is happening in the consciousness, just to understand. Attachment to the body and to the consciousness is very strong; to get rid of it is very difficult."

"You did not know your own existence after you were born. Nine months in the womb and for sometime afterwards that 'I am so and so' is absent. When you start recognizing your mother, then you also come to be aware of your own existence. That 'I Amness' comes sometime later. Mother teaches you, in ignorance, that you are the body and you begin to believe that.”

“Your mind also starts slowly to develop. So right from the beginning, because of ignorance, the Absolute does not know itself; and because of the body, it started knowing that it is - 'I AM'. Because of the ignorance, you had to ask somebody, 'Who am I?'; otherwise, you would not have asked anybody. Even so-called incarnations such as Rama were like this, they had to be taught.”

“The incarnations are just like you. The bondage with the body came because of wrong teaching, and then the guru came and told you that you are not the body, and then you were liberated. That is why all these births are taking place.”

“If you knew of the bondage, you would refuse the birth. But because the 'I Amness' is absent, you are trapped. Because the 'I Amness' is a quality of the body, later on you come to know you are and that you are trapped. But once You know, you are liberated."

"You can watch the body, so you are not the body. You can watch the breath, so you are not the vital breath. In the same way, you are not the consciousness; but you have to become one with the consciousness.”

“As you stabilize in the consciousness, dispassion for the body and for the expressions through the body occur spontaneously. It is a natural renunciation, not a deliberate one. It does not mean that you should neglect your worldly duties; carry these out with full zest."

"Before you were 'born', could you have felt or sensed or known that you exist? A jñani is free because he sees that the body is made up of five elements and it works according to the nature of these elements. I see that body, but I am not concerned with whatever that body does. There is nothing in it with which I identify.”

“The sense of the combination of the five elements is the sense of being, of existing. It has all come simultaneously. I have no part in it. Feeling that I am present depends on having a body. I am neither the body nor the conscious presence. In this body is the subtle principle 'I Am'; that principle witnesses all this. You are not the words. Words are the expression of space; they are not yours. Still further, you are not that 'I Am'."

[So, to be completely accurate, “you” are not even the temporarily-manifested composite unity but are that which is conscious of the composite unity. Moreover, the closest thing there is to a “True Self” or “Real Self” is not even “The Witness” but is, instead, “Pure Witnessing.”

To be continued.

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

To prepare for a business trip, one must understand that there is something being sought; must understand exactly what it is that is to be accomplished on the journey; must understand exactly what the best route is which will lead to the destination being sought; and must have baggage that is packed full of information and knowledge and all sorts of other things thought to be required, many of which are things believed to be needed but which actually are not.

Similarly, if those who are sick are making a trip to find healing and freedom from whatever pain or misery or suffering is being experienced, then they will likely make similar preparations and might even take along the medications they used in order to show the one offering a treatment plan for them so they can exclude the medications which have been used so far - and which have failed - in order for something new and totally different to be tried.

First, to “things thought to be required, many of which are believed to be needed but actually are not” and to the notion that “medications which have been used so far and failed and therefore need to be replaced with something new and totally different”:

Two versions of the Ultimate Medicine which have been tried by trillions and which are currently being tried by billions are dogma and its chum, spirituality. For those taking "the non-dual journey” in order to be healed of the Ultimate Sickness, those two medicines - which were the first Medicines that Maharaj - tried can be discarded because he found they did not offer permanent healing.

He said of what he tried that failed: "I got involved in spirituality, in the business of spirituality; finally, I lost that love of Self also. I have no more love for the Self."

So he lost the love of (false) selves as well as the love of the (also actually false) Self.

So for those going about the business of “taking a non-dual journey” of healing, they need not pack their dogma or their spirituality. Those have failed humankind for 5000+ years.

As for understanding that “there is something being sought,” one must understand exactly what they must seek and exactly how to reach the proper destination and not get sidetracked or lost along the way. What is not being sought is “more,” and what is required for healing is “less.”

Maharaj said, "You come here because you are ignorant, not because you are knowledgeable. This knowledge I give is only to remove ignorance"

and

"Realization is nothing more than being free of all learned ignorance"

and

"Those who come here with the idea of getting knowledge, even spiritual knowledge, come here as individuals aspiring to get something; that is the real difficulty. The seeker must disappear.”

"What I am expounding does not relate to worldly knowledge. You do not want to give up either 'worldly knowledge' or so-called 'spiritual knowledge', and yet, through these worldly concepts, you want to understand the riddle of your existence, and that is precisely why you are not able to understand."

He said: "I do not follow the spirituality of the masses. In this place spirituality of the common type will not be doled out to you. You can never be lost; whatever you have lost, you have lost only the words. Through this 'I Am' comes the 'world knowledge'"

and

"The factual state of affairs is open, very clear, but nobody wants to look at it. This is the place where the intellect gets annihilated"

and

“You come to get something, but here, I will take everything away.”

Thus, to the point that one “must understand exactly what it is that is to be accomplished” on the “non-dual journey”: what will not be accomplished is the receipt of more “knowledge,” more information. What will be offered is a method for purging all, for un-learning all, not for learning more; and for being un-taught, not for being taught more.

The treatment for the Ultimate Sickness is comparable to the treatment for cancerous cells in that they must all be removed and discarded. To remove only some of them will not lead to total wellness. The same is true of the Ultimate Sickness: to remove only part of what is causing it is not an effective treatment plan. ALL body-mind-personality identifications must go.

As for the pointer that one “must understand exactly what the best route is which will lead to the destination being sought,” Maharaj made clear that the direct route is the most efficient. That means “going back,” returning, following in reverse the exact same path that was taken that led persons to end up in their current state of Sickness.

Finally, to the point that seekers believe that they “must have all of their baggage that is packed full of information and knowledge and all sorts of other things thought to be required, many of which are believed to be needed but actually are not.”

In that regard, how much unjustified value do persons give to their special books which are actually just more unnecessary baggage to carry along on the "journey" to realizing what is already understood within, access to which was lost when the consciousness was blocked with nonsensical beliefs?

To paraphrase an old song, "Them book-toters, ain't they gung ho?! Totin' their books to meet up with others who are just as gung ho."

Over the years, I have seen people going into “places of worship” carrying one book or another which they have been told is “special and unique and holy and the storehouse of all truth.”

I have seen people with the same kind misguided belief going into meetings carrying their “Big Book.”

I have seen people come here for retreats carrying their copy of I AM THAT (in spite of the fact that Maharaj said, “Stop reading I AM THAT and listen to my later talks.” He said that "those talks in I AM THAT were for that time only and are not applicable now.”)

Of the trillions of life-forms on the planet, humans are the only one that believes that they need to read a book (or books, in fact, hundreds of books) to tell them how to live.

Here, the ultimate message in all of the books offered is to reach a point where all interest in selves and Self and more and more knowledge (a.k.a., “learned ignorance”) and accumulation all come to an end.

Personal libraries are not a testament to one’s accumulated wisdom but are proof instead that one has missed understanding the value of de-accumulation.

Therefore, if one has moved beyond twenty years of being programmed to accumulate and then beyond twenty years of accumulating and has taken the action necessary to shift one into the state of readiness required to undertake “the non-dual journey,” one may now begin.

So,
HOW TO (AND WHAT TO) REALIZE

The process whereby “you” are presently here began with a "coming in" leg from a field of energy; manifesting; then just being for a short period as a no-knowing child; then being assigned identities; then having a mind that became filled with nonsense; and then ultimately being reduced to body-mind-personality identification alone.

To “go back,” to “reverse,” as Maharaj recommended, then we begin where persons are now, namely, trapped in the misguided belief that when they hear someone say the word “you,” it is referring to their body.

When “non-dual teachers” have long said, “You are not your body. 'What You Are' has always been, is, and always shall always be,” most listeners / seekers have taken that to mean that there is "a Special You" that shall remain after the current manifestation ends. That may have led to the penultimate distortion among humankind.

The “you,” which presently but only temporarily is, is nothing more than an elemental plant food body which is circulating air and conscious-energy. When that comes to an end, the elements will return to the universal pool of elements, the air shall return to the universal pool of air, and the conscious-energy shall return to the universal pool of conscious-energy.

There will be no “you.” There will only be the always-having-existed elements and air and energy.

For “teachers” to have long said for thousands of years, “'That Which You Are' is forever and eternal” has likely led to the ultimate angst-generating distortion among humankind which involves “eternal life,” eternal punishment or reward; an eternal body which can feel eternal punishment and pain, etc.

Yes, the elements and air and energy have always been, and elements and air and energy will always be, but the composite unity which “you” temporarily are will not always be.

Moreover, for “teachers” to have said for thousands of years, “That which is real is permanent and forever but the body is temporary” has also been misunderstood by trillions of humans.

Yes, the body is temporary, but it cannot define "Who or What You Are" because every elemental plant food body is forever in a state of flux. The skin is replaced every twenty-eight days or so, the stomach lining is replace ever few days; etc. Look at your school pictures from Grade One to Grade Twelve and you’ll see that your body has forever been in a state of fluctuation and has experienced no continuity whatsoever.

The only thing that provides a sense of continuity is a series of “memories” which have actually been a series of distortions as well.

So, to being the “journey” to wellness – to freedom from belief in all learned ignorance – the first step involves the abandonment of the belief that “you” are your body.

In the book FROM THE I TO THE ABSOLUTE from a chapter entitled “The First Degree of Separation From Reality: Body Identification,” there is offered what is called here, “The Arms-Legs-Organs Consideration” which can help some people become free of the limiting, false belief that they are the body.

A group at a retreat was offered this example to illustrate the point:

Of the various self-concepts which block most humans from “realization,” body identification is the most basic and least sophisticated identity.

I offer the consideration now to you:

If you were to lose your right arm, would you still be you? You would still be you, right, even without that arm?

If you were to lose your left arm, would you still be you? You would still be you, even without that arm . . . correct?

If you were to lose your left leg, would you still be you? You would still be you, right, even without that leg?

If you lose your other leg, wouldn't you still be you? You would still be you, right, even without that leg?

Would you still be you if you have a heart transplant? You would still be you, yes?

If you have a lung transplant, are you still you? You would still be you, right, even without your original lung or your original heart?

And if you looked into your own eyes in a mirror, wouldn't you still know that you are you, even though your physical body is only a shadow of what it once was?

Then . . . who (or, more accurately, what) are you, there being no real who-ness or WHO-ness at all?

WHO (or WHAT) answered "yes" to the earlier questions during the exercise?

Who or what you truly are must be something beyond the physical body.

If more than half of what most consider to be “you” were to be lost, who (or what) is that "you" which remains?

Moreover, "who" is that "you" which is sensing that "you" would still be "you" and would still be complete, even after the loss of four body appendages and the replacement of two original organs?

In fact, is it not the temporarily-manifested conscious-energy which is aware of the “who” (or what) which temporarily exists? And if that is the case, if what is supposedly being seen as a “you” is nothing more than an image in a mirror or in the eyes of others, then is not the very notion of a literal, physical “you” a total illusion in consciousness?

Maharaj said: “The usual knowledge is concerned only with the body image. You are not the body. You are the consciousness."

Yet the manifested consciousness is also only temporarily-manifested, so what it sees cannot be the real, either. What is sees is always in a state of flux as well, and what it thinks it sees in never seen accurately, either.

To look at a brick and believe, “That is a brick” is a misperception of the consciousness. To look at the brick under an election microscope would shows that it is not at all what it appears in consciousness to be. It is, instead, a swirling mass of subatomic particles which looks nothing like "the brick" as seen via the naked eye and via the unclear consciousness.

Many often assign some supposed worth to the consciousness. In fact, it is nothing special, either. It is merely one of many forms of energy, and it leads humans to believe that mirages are real.

Maharaj said that if persons realize, they will understand that both “knowledge of this world and consciousness are not even worth your spit.”

So what to realize about today's key point? Any beliefs about a "you" (or even more farfetched, a "You") are as invalid as all beliefs are, and the belief that there is any correlation between the concept of "you" (or "You") and a body (or "soul") are dreamed up nonsense which can be traced back to the Dark Ages and even earlier when ignorance prevailed among humans as much then as it does now.

To be continued.

From yesterday:

The "ready seeker" at the third level of seeking will be uninterested in religious or spiritual doingness and will take level-appropriate pointers, offered one-on-one, into quiet consideration. At this point, if the readiness is there, the seeker will be ready to abandon a life-long effort to learn more and more and will see that it is unlearning that is required.

As Shakespeare said, "The readiness is all," and what happens during the third stage - The Forest Dweller Stage - is what often leads to the readiness.

If the readiness is there, then a seeker can move into the fourth stage and actually begin the "journey" to full realization, full realization being the state of abiding naturally without being driven by body or mind or personality identifications or concepts because a no-learned-ignorance state has been reached by virtue of having first reached a zero-concepts state which is marked by having no beliefs at all.

To review the “Stages”:

Stage I: Being Programmed to Accumulate (Ages 1-20)

Stage II. Accumulating (Ages 20-40)

Stage III. The Forest Dweller Stage

Those were labeled, “the stages which must be passed through before the actual ‘journey’ can begin.”

Forty years of the lives of most persons will be dominated by and absorbed with and engrossed in accumulation. For twenty years, the focus will be on programming persons to accumulate. For twenty more years, (or many, many more) they will sleepwalkingly follow their programming

All persons—all personas, all false identities—are rooted in one fashion or another in a belief in the ability to “possess.” Why? Because there is first a belief in the lie that "The Possessor" can exist. In the planet’s cultures of accumulation, a message of "getting" is conveyed early on by programmers, a message which leads to the belief that there can be “Getters” . . . there can be "Accumulators":

“Get a good education so you can get a good job (or forget an education and just go get a crappy job) so you can get a good home and get good things to fill it up with and get a good spouse and get a good family and get your offspring a good education (or not) so they can get as well.”

And so the programming goes. In such cultures of accumulation, a dualistic belief in separation becomes a given, the “garbage collector” being worth less (“worthless”) in comparison to the CEO.

[The actual worth of the two might be better understood if you see the results of both of those types taking a one month vacation:

If a CEO takes off for a month (and most take off far more time than that every year) the company will chug right along because the real “workers” and “producers” will still be on the job; if all garbage collectors were to leave the job for a month, chaos would prevails and industries in the affected cities would come to a screeching halt. Just as I have said that I’d prefer to live with or deal with a “sinner” than a self-proclaimed “Spiritual Giant,” so too one can give me a garbage collector any day over the typical CEO.]

So, twenty years are spent in being programmed and sold the idea that accumulation is preferred to simplification and de-accumulation and saving.

The next twenty years will usually be spent actually accumulating.

One country which has a population that is particularly focused on accumulating is the U.S. Here, the 2017 nominal median income per capita was $31,786. The mean income per capita was $48,150. The real median household income was $61,372.00.

Yet that same year, the typical U.S. household spent $60,060.00.

That results in the typical U.S. household being subject to financial fragility, especially among minorities and those lacking higher education.

Millions of adults in the U.S. have reported that they would need to borrow or sell something to pay for an unexpected expense of $400. Millions more have no retirement savings, and millions skipped necessary medical care in 2018 because they were unable to afford the cost.

With enough money to “live comfortably,” why do most not do so? Because they have been programmed to blindly spend all that they make annually.

How much of a typical life is absorbed with accumulation and being stressed by the effects of that practice?

Look to life expectancy tables to find the answer:

In Japan, where life expectancy is the longest of that among 182 other nations, the average for both sexes is a little over 83.6 years.

The U.S. ranks #31 on the list, with an average expectancy of 79 years. [Note: That is for whites. The indigenous population has the second shortest lifespan of all and African Americans have the shortest.]

In the nation at the bottom if the list, Sierra Leone, that average lifespan is 50 years.

Thus, most persons on the planet will spend at least 50% of their entire lives focused on accumulating, and some will spend 90% or more of their lives focused on accumulating

Those at the top of the life expectancy list accumulate “extras” while those at the midpoint and below on the list focus on accumulating “the bare necessities required for survival.”

So what happens with most humans after forty years of being dominated by and absorbed with and engrossed in accumulation? One of two things:

After forty years of accumulating and trying to impress society or please family and parents and mates and spouses, all arrive at “a fork in the accumulation road.”

[Research shows that most nowadays actually reach that fork somewhere after their 40th year, specifically, at the age of 41-and-1/2, on average.]

So what happens at that age?

Most never “see” the fork and never see the “other option” on the route which they are blindly following in their sleep; thus, they will move along as they have done before, accumulating, accumulating, accumulating.

A few will see the fork after asking the questions which many do ask at the age of 41-and-1/2 if they reach a “midlife, existential crisis” which might lead to a never-before-considered recognition of their actual condition and patterns.

Some few at that point undergo a shift in focus from (a) unconsciously accumulating to (b) reckoning with their “mortality” and / or their sense of a dwindling number of remaining years of “productive” life.

Some get into “self-questioning,” questioning decisions made years earlier or seeking some so-far-illusive “meaning of life” or some other change or shift away from the road they have been on for four decades.

For some, a desire to change or “shake things up” might be triggered by the manifesting of added stress, anxiety, depression and / or despair, though in many cases those conditions don’t even consciously register.

Some may ask:

“Is this all there is?”

“What is all this about anyway?”

“I am tired . . . really, really, really tired. Is there another way or something else other than what I’ve been doing all my life?”

If the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness generate enough pain and suffering and misery, then only might the readiness to wake up actually manifest. If so, those persons might take the other fork and begin seeking earnestly to be healed and to be free of the symptoms of the Sickness which have been ignored or denied for forty years.

Then, one might transition beyond Stage I: Being Programmed to Accumulate (Ages 1-20); beyond Stage II: Accumulating; and then enter the seeking stage - Stage III: The Forest Dweller Stage.

If they cross paths with one that can lead them on the reverse “journey” and show them how to return and go back, then they might be able to abandon body and mind and personality identification and return to “The Child No-Knowing State” or “the Child Ignorance State.”

That is where they were abiding prior to being programmed, conditioned, etc.; where they were abiding prior to being inundated with learned ignorance in mass quantities; and where they were abiding prior to being driven insane by the persons in their cultures.

To be continued.

Five Free eBooks

Compliments of Andy Gugar, Jr.,
the following eBooks are available without charge for you or for friends:

I.
"GOOD vs. EVIL?" or "IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY, and INSANITY?"

The content of this eBook deals with one of the most common but erroneous beliefs that the non-Realized masses cling to and which they will fight about (and even kill over), namely, that there is a planet-wide duel going on between “the forces of good and evil” in the universe.

Either (1) the ancient view is spot on: that the "ills of the planet" are rooted in evil people, in people not being religious enough or spiritual enough, and are caused solely by bad morality; or, (2) the "ills of the planet" are rooted in ignorance, stupidity and insanity and "being good" or "being moral" does not put an end to ignorance, does not eliminate stupidity, and does not treat insanity in any way.

II.
"THE VISION"

Comments regarding the free eBook entitled “THE VISION”:

“My thanks to you and Andy.” – Andrew “Mac” McMaster

“Thanks so much for the book! And, by the way, it is brilliant and the most effective pointing that you have done. It has served to help clear the remaining blockages.” – Stan Cross

“Greatly appreciate having “THE VISION” added to my Henderson resource library that is situated on the right side of my bed for easy access! Eternally grateful for what was received and what was given.” – Robert Rigby

“‘THE VISION’ is such a well-written, condensed version of the Nisarga Yoga approach to understanding and enjoying Reality that I feel it can serve as a must-read ‘meditation guide’ for all earnest seekers.” – Andy Gugar, Jr.

III.
"Sapolsky, Maharaj, and the Non-Dual Teachings"

Dr. Robert Maurice Sapolsky is an American neuroendocrinologist; a professor of biology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at Stanford University; a researcher; an author; and a Research Associate at the National Museums of Kenya.

There is much that a non-dualist or Advaitin or Nisargan can relate to by comparing and contrasting what Sapolsky reveals about the way certain troops of baboons live in Africa with the way that humans abide all around the globe.

This 152-page eBook catalogues the common, non-dual message shared by Sapolsky and Maharaj and reveals the ways that Sapolsky’s scientific research supports the non-dual pointers offered by Maharaj.

IV.
Seeking

In “PART ONE” it will be seen that most persons on the planet are not seeking, and most will never seek, but for those who are seeking, most will face several obstacles:

In “PART TWO” of this book, it will be seen why many criticized Maharaj for “changing his message in his later talks.” It will be seen that the changes were not about changing the message per se as much as about changing his methodology as he experimented with one version of the Ultimate Medicine after another in order to try to find an effective means for addressing the Ultimate Sickness.

He tried a religious version of the Medicine, a Spiritual version of the Medicine, and finally settled on a version which addressed to Sickness at its core . . . at the mental and emotional level.

V.
"THE MOST DANGEROUS BELIEF OF ALL"

“Dangerous” is a term that can only apply during the relative existence, but of those who do commit suicide, for example, how many shoot themselves in the foot over and over until they “bleed out”? None. They shoot themselves in the head. Why? In order to try to stop the noise - to try to stop the chatter of a thousand monkeys – to stop the noisy mind which is the area that stores the ideas, notions, concepts, mind-stuff, etc. which drives them into the depths of insanity.

And what are those ideas, notions, concepts, etc. called, collectively? "Their beliefs." The irony? They are not their beliefs at all. They are the beliefs of “others” that were set in place via programming, conditioning, etc. and which persons then think are their own.

And what are those beliefs rooted in, and what reinforces those beliefs and convinces persons that they are sacred and worth fighting over and even sometimes worth dying for? Blind faith.

This 337-page eBook discusses those issues in detail.
