TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. [See the offer in gold text following this post for details on how you can watch a retreat on video which includes a detailed discussion of all seven of the steps on the path as used by Maharaj]

2. Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns. See the green text after today's post for the full meaning and implications of that.

3. A new video ("Number Ten: Awakening Together Satsang, March 2018") has now been added in the far right column of this page, offering the opportunity to view a recent 2018 satsang session with Floyd being interviewed by Regina and Jacqueline of "The Awakening Together Group." (See the details in the blue text after this post.)

[To review from yesterday

The striking difference in the Direct Path, Nisargan Yoga approach to treating the Ultimate Sickness vs. everything else involving a “religious approach,” a “spiritual approach,” a “supernatural approach,” an “evangelical approach,” a “salvation-focused approach,” an “ideological approach,” a “philosophical approach,” a “SELF-Enquiry approach,” a “mystical approach,” or any other approach which is intended to inspire a zealous or fanatical or obsessive or fervent or over-enthusiastic or besotted affect.

As “The Reason(s) to Realize” are discussed, the reason(s) will all have to do with the AM-ness now, not the THAT-ness later.

As Maharaj eventually made clear, that approach calls for engaging in “(false)-self-inquiry” rather than in “SELF-Enquiry.”

To continue:

All of the claims by some that “SELF-Enquiry is the Ultimate Medicine” notwithstanding, and the fact that Maharaj early on held that same view notwithstanding, eventually his perspective changed and he said that "it is actually enough to know who you are not."

Thus, for one not interested in things mythical or religious or spiritual; and for one not wanting to align with those who are trapped in some philosophical, Foo Foo Land mindset; and for one not interested in spending years in search of the answer to "Who Am I, Really?” then there is the alternative option of false-self-inquiry.

Early on, Maharaj led visitors to his loft in bhajans - religious (Hindu) devotional songs expressing love for “the Divine.” Along with those religious messages, he began to intermingle spiritual pointers in his talks, so his talks evidence a combination of religion and spirituality.

As his message evolved, especially with the arrival of more and more Westerners, he focused more on spiritual subject matter until he eventually abandoned both religious talks and spiritual talks, having seen that those did not address the Ultimate Sickness at all, long-term. The focus of his talks shifted more to the mental roots and emotional (ego-based) aspects of the Ultimate Sickness.

Rather than agreeing that “too little religion” is the cause of the ills of persons on the planet, and rather than agreeing that the Ultimate Sickness is “a spiritual malady,” it became clear to him that humanity’s main problem was (and still is) centered in the fiction-filled mind that develops after exposure to perverted and ignorant and insane programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, indoctrination and brainwashing.

Once he realized that realization is about being free of all learned ignorance, he looked to the key sources of learned ignorance, namely, the perverted and ignorant and insane programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, indoctrination and brainwashing to which all are exposed as well as dogma and so-called spiritual knowledge.

Of that he would eventually say, “Whatever you think of as 'spiritual knowledge' was gained in the realm of consciousness; such knowledge is merely a burden upon your head and it is going to add more misery. It is nothing more than spiritual jargon.”

[Therefore, turn your focus to the Am-ness only and work on eliminating the learned ignorance which you believe.]

He told one visitor to the loft, “In the course of your study of spirituality, you have acquired many concepts and you call that 'knowledge'." He advised that visitor to "throw out your concepts."

[Therefore, turn your focus to the Am-ness only and work on eliminating the learned ignorance which you believe.

He also said,

"Spiritual knowledge should not be studied."

[Therefore, turn your focus to the Am-ness only and work on eliminating the learned ignorance which you believe.]

He said:

"Subsequent to that 'I Am' and body-mind, and in the realm of the mind, there occurs what you call 'spiritual seeking', or 'spiritual knowledge'. This is nonsense.”

[Therefore, turn your focus to the Am-ness only and work on eliminating the learned ignorance which you believe.

He said, “Some people come here for knowledge. I talk because the words naturally come out. There is no intention behind my talks that you should get knowledge."

[Therefore, turn your focus to the Am-ness only and work on eliminating the learned ignorance which you believe.

He said: "Ignorance will remain there for all time just as knowledge also will remain for all time. There cannot be knowledge without ignorance and there cannot be ignorance without the correlated knowledge. Both are the opposites in manifestation. One cannot remain without the other. Even this concept about knowledge is merely a concept.”

So, again, the final teachings all focused on the AM-ness and nothing else.

[Therefore, turn your focus to the Am-ness only and work on eliminating the learned ignorance which you believe.

In his later talks, therefore, Maharaj did not say that someday religious understandings would reach a point that they would confirm the veracity of the non-duality teachings.

He did not say that someday spiritual understandings would reach a point where they would confirm the veracity of the non-dual teachings.

What he did eventually say was that scientific understandings would someday reach a point where they would confirm the veracity of the teachings.

Next, why the comment yesterday about the misery than can come if abiding with one who takes himself or herself to be “A Supreme Self?”

Later on, Maharaj said: “I got involved in spirituality, in the business of spirituality; finally, I lost that love of Self also. I have no more love for the Self.”

This point has been offered here in the past:

Maharaj came to see that most who assumed the new identity of an ego-state called “The Self” or “The Supreme Self” as a new "Identity" became obnoxious egomaniacs who had to be tossed out of his loft. He understood that Self-absorption is as delusional as self-absorption and that each generates just as much egotism as the other because ego-defense mechanisms activate and begin functioning when any identity or Identity is assumed.

So as noted, eventually, he shared he lost interest in - and love for - the Self, the Supreme Self, the Ultimate Self, the Real Self, the Godhead, the Godself, or whatever else supposedly noble identifiers can be called. See? The “realized” - via a new understanding – transcend belief in both the false self / selves and even "the True Self" and even "the Supreme SELF," so all that happens among "the realized" thereafter merely happens spontaneously.

Then, spontaneous abidance during the AM-ness happens without being influenced by identity-driven agendas and without hidden agendas. Via the Nisargan understanding, all merely happens naturally.

The Direct Path Method combined with Nisarga Yoga can alleviate the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness which mark and mar the entire AM-ness of the “non-realized” masses, including those symptoms which result in persons’ thoughts and words and actions being determined by “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity.”

Thus it is that in the book The Ultimate Sickness / The Ultimate Medicine, the following is shared:

Treatment for the Ultimate Sickness is complicated by the fact that most persons who contract the illness actually normalize the condition and its symptoms and, therefore, (a) seldom have a clue that they are as sick as they truly are and thus (b) seldom seek the Ultimate Medicine that can address the sickness and its symptoms.

How, then, is one to know if he or she has contracted the Ultimate Sickness? One must cross the path of a "healer" who suffered the illness, of one who found someone to administer the treatment in the proper stages and steps, of one that was eventually freed of the sickness and its symptoms, and of one that is now willing to administer the Ultimate Medicine to seekers who are now suffering the same symptoms and effects and who are wanting relief.

Imagine if persons knew of an Ultimate Medicine that could cure all of the above; they would call that a "miracle drug." Yet few will ever know it even exists because few will ever know that they are suffering from the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness and because few will ever understand they need to be cured of from the Sickness.

And imagine what could happen if the two-billion+ Christians were to stop ignoring the non-dual pointers offered by their so-called "savior" and paid attention to his pointers that "A dual-minded person is unstable in all ways" and "No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within" and "Heaven and earth shall fade away."

They would understand at that moment that it's all about the AM-ness and nothing else.

They would also understand why their focus should be on the Am-ness only; then, their religious workaholism could be redirected to the elimination of all of their learned ignorance, including their duality-based beliefs.

More to the point is the fact that there are two ways by which the Sickness can end, and it will end for every person, one way or the other:

1. The person with the Sickness “dies.” That ends the Sickness in that particular case, yet by way of those to whom that person passed on the Sickness, it will continue to spread.

2. One can realize.

If "way 2" happens, all of the learned ignorance stored in the mind will be eliminated, allowing the remainder of the AM-ness to happen is a no-ignorance, no-stupidity, no-insanity fashion.

Should "way 1" happens, all of the learned ignorance stored in the mind will also be eliminated by virtue of the fact that the fiction-filled mind will end as the elemental plant food brain rots away and returns to the universal pool of elements from which it came.

Either way, all of that has only to do with the AM-ness and has nothing to do with anything else.

To be continued.

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."
--Pope John Paul II

"There is no hell."
--Pope Francis, the current pope
in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
