THE DARK TRIAD

Originally, the version of the Direct Path Method which Maharaj offered was a seven-step path which began with an elimination of entrapment in body and mind and personality identification; with a return to the Child Ignorance Stage (or, as identified here, the Child No-Knowing State); the elimination of entrapment in subject-object witnessing vs. Pure Witnessing (a.k.a., "True Selfness" or "a temporary 'self' - to use a not-especially-accurate-representation which sees truth throughout the remainder of the post-realized relative existence); and beingness, non-beingness, and that which is beyond both.

Later, Maharaj would shift to a four-step path, having realized that "it is enough to know who you are not" and that "you need not spend a lifetime searching to find 'Who You Are'." Of course with that shift, his approach no longer called for a seven-step path but required only a four-step path instead:

Steps 1-3 eliminated entrapment in body and mind and personality identifications, and elimination of personality identifications also eliminated any concern with Personal Identification or the stuff of steps 5-7 and identifying a Self, a Supreme Self, a True Self, an Infinite Self, THAT, ad infinitum

Then, having reached what Maharaj called a "zero concepts" / "no-beliefs" state, there follows a shift into the Child No-Knowing State (which happens to be the state you were in the last time that unconditional contentment was experienced before the insane and ignorant effects of ignorant and insane programming, conditioning, etc. took control of all thoughts and words and actions which would, of course, be insane).

As for the content covered formerly in Steps 5-7, that would be discussed no more.

What other shift came with use of the four-step path? Well, since all of the "other-worldly stuff" was abandoned, that left only that involved with the period of Is-ness, Am-ness, and the relative. Does that not make perfect sense? What happens post-manifestation happens automatically and will be governed by the "rules of nature" without any "one" around to offer any input or action or influence.

Thus, the only thing that persons can have any "impact on" will be the Am-ness, not the THAT-ness. But impact the relative existence to what end? To the end of eliminating misery and suffering. Since post-manifestation there will be no "one" to experience any pain or suffering, then that leaves only the relative existence, the manifestation, that should be given any attention or focus.

[Sorry about what that says to those attached to a concept of "hell" and to beliefs regarding "rewards" for you and all "good" people and "deserved punishment" for all of the supposedly "bad" people.]

So now you are invited to look once again at the "dark traits" discussed yesterday from the perspective that they only matter as far as the relative existence is concerned and as far as eliminating misery and suffering are concerned.

If you do recognize those with sociopathic and / or psychopathic traits, understand that you will never likely "help" them because they are usually free of suffering. They cause it; they do not experience it themselves except to to the degree which leaves them constantly miserable; yet they feel fine in that state.

No, the "benefit" of being able to spot the traits in others is that it will allow you to understand who you are dealing with; to understand that the way they are now is the way they will almost certainly be forever; and to understand that you do not deserve to be exposed to the misery and suffering which comes when dealing with them or when supporting them and their causes and agendas.

If you are awake, awake, and conscious of the traits, then when you review them, the sociopaths and / or psychopaths you dealt with in the past should come into consciousness and the sociopaths and / or psychopaths you are dealing with or supporting in the present should come into consciousness.

So, who are you reminded of as you go through the list?

Key traits that sociopaths and psychopaths share include . . .

a disregard for laws and social mores,

a disregard for the rights of others,

a failure to feel remorse or guilt and

a tendency to display violent behavior.

Sociopaths tend to be nervous and easily agitated.

They are volatile and prone to emotional outbursts, including fits of rage.

It is difficult but not impossible for sociopaths to form attachments with others.

Many sociopaths are able to form an attachment to a particular individual or group, although they have no regard for society in general or its rules.

Often being rage-driven, as they are, any violence or crime committed by a sociopath will tend to be haphazard rather than planned.”

Psychopaths are unable to form emotional attachments or feel real empathy with others, although they often have disarming or even charming personalities.

They are very manipulative and can easily gain people’s trust.

They learn to mimic emotions, despite their inability to actually feel them, and will appear normal to unsuspecting people.

Psychopaths are often well educated and hold steady jobs.

Some are so good at manipulation and mimicry that they have families and other long-term relationships without those around them ever suspecting their true nature.

Psychopaths can be cool, calm, and meticulous.

Their actions, whether violent or non-violent, will be highly organized.

Intelligent psychopaths make excellent white-collar criminals and 'con artists' due to their calm and charismatic natures.”

They have no impulse control.

[That defect will often result in the manifestation of emotional intoxication which, in itself, is most often directly related to personality assumption.]

Psychopaths dissociate emotionally from their actions, regardless of how extreme the consequences."

Their relative harms may manifest with families, on statewide levels, on national levels, and on international levels as well.

Those displaying their “Dark Triad” traits in public forums embolden and further enrage through the use of lies and distortions and hate-fueled words the angriest persons in any given society to become their followers who will join with them in spreading bigotry.

They identify and seek out and attack scapegoats.

They inciting political violence.

They allow their xenophobic and racist and misogynistic beliefs to inspire violent actions against “others” whom they consider to be “different” and therefore “less than” and “not as good as.”

Fighting and raging and whining and complaining and generating division are usually their default mode.

Denial and lying are favorite tools because when their incompetence is revealed, they have to shift into "spin" mode to cover up and to try to restore their self-image of being perfect.

While rules and laws don't apply to sociopaths, they can be the greatest stickler for demanding that others adhere to rules and laws.

To that end, they can be criminals while hating criminals, leaving them erratic, rage-prone, and unable to form a healthy relative existence even as they fabricate the image of exactly that.

Sociopaths regularly break or flout the law.

Sociopaths lie and deceive others, are impulsive, fight, are aggressive, have little regard for the safety of others, are irresponsible, and do not feel remorse or guilt.

Psychopaths form artificial, shallow relationships and often are drawn to partners whom they can manipulate.

Psychopaths see people as pawns to be used to forward the psychopath's goals.

Psychopaths will never likely feel any guilt about the way they abuse others, no matter how much (relative) harm results."

Meanwhile, they can be seen as charming and can have what appears to be "normal family relations."

Now, who "comes to mind" when you read that list? Come on. Be honest with yourself. If you have moved about this planet for 25 or 30 or 40 years, you have crossed paths with many sociopaths and psychopaths. If you watch newscasts on occasion, you have seen them in action, displaying their "dark traits" for all to see. Why understand? Why admit if you are dealing with someone like that or if you are supporting someone like that?

Only in order to contribute to ending some of the misery and suffering which those types are generating.

Again, the ability to understand the personality types associated with "The Dark Triad" is significant (relatively speaking) because it can provide one with an understanding of the leaders whom they support and an understanding that that support is misplaced; or it can provide one an understanding of those types whom they may be working for or living with; or it might - in a few rare cases - give one insight into one's own motivating influences.

To be continued.

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

--Pope John Paul II

"There is no hell."

--Pope Francis, the current pope

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]

THE DARK TRIAD

Earlier, the second of the three personality disorders which make up “The Dark Triad” (namely, the Sociopathic Personality Disorder) was discussed. Today, the third - the Psychopathic Personality Disorder - will be discussed.

Site visitors are invited to note the common traits shared by all three of "The Dark Triad" disorders, often only varying in the degree to which the traits have manifested and are being played out).

Scott Bonn, Ph.D., who wrote "How to Tell a Sociopath from a Psychopath," shared the following:

“Many forensic psychologists, psychiatrists and criminologists use the terms sociopathy and psychopathy interchangeably. Leading experts disagree on whether there are meaningful differences between the two conditions. I contend that there are clear and significant distinctions between them."

“These disorders share many common behavioral traits which lead to the confusion between them. Key traits that sociopaths and psychopaths share include a disregard for laws and social mores, a disregard for the rights of others, a failure to feel remorse or guilt and a tendency to display violent behavior.”

Yet, “in addition to their commonalities, sociopaths and psychopaths also have their own unique behavioral characteristics, as well.”

“Sociopaths tend to be nervous and easily agitated.

“Psychopaths are unable to form emotional attachments or feel real empathy with others, although they often have disarming or even charming personalities. They are very manipulative and can easily gain people’s trust. They learn to mimic emotions, despite their inability to actually feel them, and will appear normal to unsuspecting people. Psychopaths are often well educated and hold steady jobs. Some are so good at manipulation and mimicry that they have families and other long-term relationships without those around them ever suspecting their true nature.”

“Unlike their sociopathic counterparts, psychopaths can be cool, calm, and meticulous. Their actions, whether violent or non-violent, will be highly organized. Intelligent psychopaths make excellent white-collar criminals and 'con artists' due to their calm and charismatic natures.”

"The cause of psychopathy is different from the cause of sociopathy. It has been seen that genetics may play some role in the development of the Psychopathic Personality Disorder while the Sociopathic Personality Disorder is more likely the result of one’s early environment. Psychopathy may well be related to a physiological defect that results in the underdevelopment of the part of the brain which is responsible for impulse control."

[That defect will often result in the manifestation of emotional intoxication which, in itself, is most often directly related to personality assumption.]

"Sociopathy, on the other hand, is more likely the product of childhood trauma and physical abuse and / or mental abuse and / or emotional abuse. Because sociopathy appears to be learned rather than innate, sociopaths are capable of empathy in certain limited circumstances but not in others, and with a few individuals but not others."

"Psychopathy is the most dangerous of all of the Antisocial Personality Disorders because of the way psychopaths dissociate emotionally from their actions, regardless of how extreme the consequences." Their relative harms may manifest with families, on statewide levels, on national levels, and on international levels as well. The Advaitin Yeshu’a (“Jesus”) said that “dual-minded persons are unstable in all ways.”

Because duality has prevailed on the planet for so long, the masses have usually always been in a state of flux. Some historians have traced the way that the pendulum of history is forever swinging, noting that the masses on the planet swing from darkness to light;

from living in periods of ignorance to living in ages of reason; from governments run by heads of state who advocate for expanding the freedom and rights of people to governments run by heads of state who reduce the freedom of people and restrict or eliminate their rights;

from economically-prosperous times to times of recessions and depressions; from times of global fighting and war and misery and suffering (e.g., WWI) to periods of peace and light-heartedness (e.g., the “Roaring Twenties”) and then back to times of global fighting and war and misery and suffering (e.g., WWII).

It has been seen that the periods of war and the greatest suffering happen (1) when fears prevail; (2) when fear morphs into anger; (3) when there come forth leaders or would-be leaders who take advantage of the fear and anger of the masses; and (4) when a prevalence of leaders on the world stage display the personality traits associated with “The Dark Triad.”

[Ego-state-based fear and anger is the cause of conflict and suffering in persons, in the home, in the community, etc. When its spread reaches global proportion, prepare for war.]

Where has the attitudinal shift of the people of the planet moved the masses since the most recent economic crash? To the far-right. Whether one looks at the “through-the-roof” levels of religious extremism; or at the extreme countermeasures against religious extremists by other religious extremists; or whether one observes the agendas of France’s extremist National Front; or witnesses the agenda of the Alternative for Germany Party;

or observes the populist, anti-immigration Dutch Freedom Party; or witnesses Italy’s far-right Northern League; or looks at Pegida UK (the British affiliate of a German anti-Islam protest group); or the many other examples of Europe’s ultra-conservative, populist and nationalist movements; or at the rising normalization by leaders and would-be leaders who are displaying the traits of “The Dark Triad” disorders - including in the U.S. those currently being attracted by the latest far-right conservative, populist and nationalist movement - the end result is this:

those displaying their “Dark Triad” traits in public forums embolden and further enrage through the use of lies and distortions and hate-fueled words the angriest persons in any given society to become their followers who will join with them in spreading bigotry; identifying and seeking out and attacking scapegoats; inciting political violence; and allowing their xenophobic and racist and misogynistic beliefs to inspire violent actions against “others” whom they consider to be “different” and therefore “less than” and “not as good as.”

Duality breeds duality, but in times of economic hardship, duality also breeds fear and anger and fighting and even killing . . . in homes, in the office, in traffic, across regions of nations, and around the globe as nations fight with other nations. If those with “The Dark Triad” disorders prevail, in the home, in the workplace, or in the seats of government, then instability and conflict and chaos are assured to reign.

Seldom has the need for the non-dual understanding been so obvious, but seldom throughout history, when that call went out, was it heard in time to thwart the effects imposed on so many people by so few “non-Realized” types.

The consequences assured to come with “movements” which are rooted in non-duality and which have leaders displaying the traits of “The Dark Triad” disorders (leaders who are “unstable in all ways”) can only be avoided in countries where voters still have a say and where even the slightest majority are not yet totally lost in the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness (identified by Maharaj as “ignorance, stupidity and insanity”);

where even the slightest majority of the people there yet have some capacity for feeling Love and empathy; and where the spread of non-duality has not led the majority away from the light and into absolute darkness. In such cases, that slight majority can prevent these scales from tipping to the far right:

The same applies in the home where dualistic thinking and talking and behaving are manifest: if duality can be held in check, if empathy and Love can manifest, if wisdom is sought and found in order to displace the effects of ignorance and insanity, then peace can also manifest in the home.

Most will never be able to affect local and state and national and international events, no matter how often and how much their egotism inspires them to believe they can. Most could bring about certain relative changes in truly amazing ways if only they could open themselves to hearing and understanding what the non-dual teachings offer.

So yes, all of the three dark triad disorders are rooted in personality and upbringing and programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and brainwashing and indoctrination. There is also some evidence that genetic determiners can also play a role in their development in some instances.

But as the sages for ages have understood, personality is always a key. To that end, consider the nine enneagram types. I have been a "student" of personality for 30+ years while involved with non-duality. For nearly 20 years, I have been a "student" of the enneagram and used its scientific method to understand and share the effects of personalty assignment and assumption.

What I have seen via the tests results of the thousands of personality tests I have administered and studied, it is clear that most sociopaths and psychopaths are disintegrated, psychically-unhealthy Personality Type Eights.

Of those types, the Type Eight (Boss / Controller / Asserter / Fighter) when psychically-unhealthy - will typically be insensitive and will lack empathy, will be domineering, will be self-centered, will be aggressive, and will have no skills involving diplomacy.

The irony: the agenda of their Type Eight personality inspires them to be in charge - in business, in politics, etc. - but while their basic personality traits inspire them to end up in charge, they lack the traits which their positions need most.

[The Peter Principle - set forth by Lawrence J. Peter - clarifies that fact. His principle asserts that "people as a whole are promoted to their level of incompetence, suggesting that something is fundamentally misaligned in the promotion process"; that is, people "are promoted based on their success in previous jobs (or more often their perceived success) until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent since skills in one job do not necessarily translate to another." The further irony is that, because their past "successes" earned the respect of those who promoted them, they are allowed to stay in the new position even though they can, or should be, seen to be totally incompetent there.]

Among psychically-unhealthy, duality-driven Type Eights, fighting and raging and whining and complaining and generating division are usually their default mode.

The DMS-5 explains that "sociopaths regularly break or flout the law." (One woman who worked in churches for years - and was viewed by all as the epitome of morality - actually had been engaged in a multi-year affair with a married men, even as she chastised people in the church who committed adultery.)

The DMS-5 also explains that "sociopaths lie and deceive others, are impulsive, fight, are aggressive, have little regard for the safety of others, are irresponsible, and do not feel remorse or guilt."

Psychopaths go beyond that level. Again, many researchers now conclude that sociopaths are more of a product of their environment while psychopathy may result from a genetic predisposition and environmental, aggravating factors. (Either way, Personality Type Eights can be both, and both often suffered childhood trauma.)

"Psychopaths form artificial, shallow relationships and often are drawn to partners whom they can manipulate. Psychopaths see people as pawns to be used to forward the psychopath's goals. Psychopaths will never likely feel any guilt about the way they abuse others, no matter how much (relative) harm results."

"Meanwhile, they can be seen as charming and can have what appears to be 'normal family relations'."

Five Free eBooks

Compliments of Andy Gugar, Jr.,
the following eBooks are available without charge for you or for friends:

I.
"GOOD vs. EVIL?" or "IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY, and INSANITY?"

The content of this eBook deals with one of the most common but erroneous beliefs that the non-Realized masses cling to and which they will fight about (and even kill over), namely, that there is a planet-wide duel going on between “the forces of good and evil” in the universe.

Either (1) the ancient view is spot on: that the "ills of the planet" are rooted in evil people, in people not being religious enough or spiritual enough, and are caused solely by bad morality; or, (2) the "ills of the planet" are rooted in ignorance, stupidity and insanity and "being good" or "being moral" does not put an end to ignorance, does not eliminate stupidity, and does not treat insanity in any way.

II.
"THE VISION"

Comments regarding the free eBook entitled “THE VISION”:

“My thanks to you and Andy.” – Andrew “Mac” McMaster

“Thanks so much for the book! And, by the way, it is brilliant and the most effective pointing that you have done. It has served to help clear the remaining blockages.” – Stan Cross

“Greatly appreciate having “THE VISION” added to my Henderson resource library that is situated on the right side of my bed for easy access! Eternally grateful for what was received and what was given.” – Robert Rigby

“‘THE VISION’ is such a well-written, condensed version of the Nisarga Yoga approach to understanding and enjoying Reality that I feel it can serve as a must-read ‘meditation guide’ for all earnest seekers.” – Andy Gugar, Jr.

III.
"Sapolsky, Maharaj, and the Non-Dual Teachings"

Dr. Robert Maurice Sapolsky is an American neuroendocrinologist; a professor of biology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at Stanford University; a researcher; an author; and a Research Associate at the National Museums of Kenya.

There is much that a non-dualist or Advaitin or Nisargan can relate to by comparing and contrasting what Sapolsky reveals about the way certain troops of baboons live in Africa with the way that humans abide all around the globe.

This 152-page eBook catalogues the common, non-dual message shared by Sapolsky and Maharaj and reveals the ways that Sapolsky’s scientific research supports the non-dual pointers offered by Maharaj.

IV.
Seeking

In “PART ONE” it will be seen that most persons on the planet are not seeking, and most will never seek, but for those who are seeking, most will face several obstacles:

In “PART TWO” of this book, it will be seen why many criticized Maharaj for “changing his message in his later talks.” It will be seen that the changes were not about changing the message per se as much as about changing his methodology as he experimented with one version of the Ultimate Medicine after another in order to try to find an effective means for addressing the Ultimate Sickness.

He tried a religious version of the Medicine, a Spiritual version of the Medicine, and finally settled on a version which addressed to Sickness at its core . . . at the mental and emotional level.

V.
"THE MOST DANGEROUS BELIEF OF ALL"

“Dangerous” is a term that can only apply during the relative existence, but of those who do commit suicide, for example, how many shoot themselves in the foot over and over until they “bleed out”? None. They shoot themselves in the head. Why? In order to try to stop the noise - to try to stop the chatter of a thousand monkeys – to stop the noisy mind which is the area that stores the ideas, notions, concepts, mind-stuff, etc. which drives them into the depths of insanity.

And what are those ideas, notions, concepts, etc. called, collectively? "Their beliefs." The irony? They are not their beliefs at all. They are the beliefs of “others” that were set in place via programming, conditioning, etc. and which persons then think are their own.

And what are those beliefs rooted in, and what reinforces those beliefs and convinces persons that they are sacred and worth fighting over and even sometimes worth dying for? Blind faith.

This 337-page eBook discusses those issues in detail.
