THE DARK TRIAD
Please note:
This discussion of "The Dark Triad" is not about the way that three personality disorders are driving one very sick man; nor it it about the way that those three personality disorders are driving over 60,000,000 of his followers.
It is about being able to see when personality disorders are driving most persons on the planet; about being able to see when any candidate for political office is being driven by personality disorders; about being able to see when personality disorders are driving business leaders and religious leaders and even so-called "spiritual" leaders in your community;
it is about seeing when personality disorders are driving someone whom you are sharing a roof with; it is about seeing when personality disorders are driving the person sleeping next to at night; and it is about seeing when personality disorders might well be affecting your own thoughts and words and actions.
Yes, this topic has relevancy on an international level, on the national level and on the local level, but most significantly, it can be relevant in almost everyone's everyday, relative existence. The understanding of personality disorders, generating as they do more suffering and misery than any other single factor, is an understanding which is vital - relative speaking - for anyone that would seek peace.
To be able to detect the influence of personality disorders and addressing them and then being free of their influence is the key which can open to door of the mental prison in which the masses abide.
To review:
What is this entire process about, in the end? Is this deal really about “things Noumenal”? Or is it totally about things Phenomenal?
Maharaj, “Humanity’s pain is caused by the abysmal stupidity of mankind” Ergo, “I am only interested in ignorance and the freedom from ignorance.”
Not “freedom from the cycles of bad karma and reincarnation”? No. Not “Freedom from all things relative”? No. Not freedom from not knowing “The True Self”? No. In the end, he urged seekers to abandon the search for the Self and their focus on things spiritual.
Whether dealing with (1) sages who taught that the problem of humanity centers in false identifications, especially personality identifications or dealing with (2) practicing psychologists or (3) those certified to teach psychology or (4) “Stage Three” Maharaj who stopped using religion and spirituality to address humankind’s psychological / mind problems, there have long been both direct and indirect pointers regarding what psychologists call “The Dark Triad”; moreover, there is a “Lightening Triad” (that is, an unburdening “Light-and-Lightness-Bringing Triad" as well).
There are dozens and dozens of personality disorders which plague the minds - and, therefore, the entire relative existence of - humans. Of those, three have long been prevalent and make up "The Dark Triad":
1. The Narcissistic Personality Disorder (a.k.a., “The God Complex Personality Disorder”);
2. The Sociopathic Personality Disorder (a.k.a., “The Machiavellian Personality Disorder” or also called here, “The Malignant Narcissism Personality Disorder”);
and

3. The Psychopathic Personality Disorder.
It has been said of those suffering from those three disorders that they can often appear to one degree or another in the same individual because all three manifest most often in those who suffered abuse and trauma, resulting in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Structural Dissociation. Dissociation in one of the (totally-ineffective but nevertheless popular) coping mechanisms used by humans.
When children or adults experience abuse and trauma, most of them will never find an effective, properly-trained therapist or guide who can free them of the effects (by effective use of such techniques as EMDR, for example).
Thus, sufferers will use things to try to dull the pain rather than address their real issues or they will retreat into groups where even more ego-states will be assumed, where the use of placebos and ineffective methods reigns, and where they can continue to deny or be blind to their real problems which led to their secondary problems.
[Note that abuse precedes being abusive and that trauma precedes addiction. Failure to address the trauma means that addictions – or the adoption of substitute addictions – will continue.]

The ego-states which manifest as a result of abuse and trauma (“The Narcissist,” “The Sociopath,” “The Psychopath,” “The Control Freak,” “The Abused One Who Becomes An Abuser,” etc.) become compartmentalized and dissociated from as a result of denial, such as when egotism inspires those who obviously had parents who were preoccupied or unavailable or inept or even abusive to proclaim,
“My parents really did a great job raising all of us” (the rest of the message being, “Just look at me and see how well I turned out as evidence”) or who say, “Well, okay, they might not have been perfect, but they did the best they could” (as if that is not also true of Hitler: he wanted to kill all of the Jews and the physically and mentally handicapped and all of the homosexual people in Europe, but he only got around the killing 12,000,000 before he was stopped. “E” for effort anyway.

Yet those are among the most visible and most extreme. Note that those with any of the disorders included in “The Dark Triad” list are not all “wide-eyed nuts” who can be easily spotted. Most will function in their cultures, can feign charm at times, and are usually never seen as the narcissists and sociopaths and psychopaths which they are, the masses for the most part having no understanding of those three types. See Ted Bundy for an example of that.

As for their not usually being detected, consider: last night, millions of spouses slept next to a person who has one, two or all three of the disorders. This morning, persons will report to their place of employment and deal with bosses and leaders and other high-level supervisors who have full-blown narcissism and sociopathy, and some of those people will also be psychopaths.
This evening, millions of persons will go to meetings and will listen to narcissists and sociopaths and psychopaths claim that they have been healed and restored to sanity when in fact no such thing has happened.

Why become aware of these types? To turn, if you fall into one or more of the categories; to be aware of what you are dealing with if you're around such types; and to stop believing all that you hear from these “Masters of the Con and the Lie.”
Consider this point: “People scoring high on these traits are more likely to commit crimes, cause social distress, and create severe problems for an organization, especially if they are in a leadership position.”

Moreover, the distress and problems they cause will not be compartmentalized: they will occur in families, in traffic, and at checkout counters in stores where they are made to wait while believing that they are entitled to special treatment. They spread the effects of their psychological sicknesses everywhere they go.
The result of the growing presence of the disorders known as “The Dark Triad” is an ever-increasing number of persons with these traits:
The Narcissistic Personality Disorder (a.k.a., “The God Complex Personality Disorder”) is marked in adults by some of the same traits which are typical of . . . six-year olds:
selfish, bully others, self-centered, cruel, highly critical of others while being super-sensitive to criticism from others, highly competitive, overly-concerned with appearance, feel entitled, mean, negative, pessimistic, cynical, impulsive, stingy, higher-than-usual sex drive,
use of attractive and / or famous people to try to enhance their own image, jealous, contemptuous, complain and gripe, little sense of humor, inflexible authoritarians, secretive, grandiose, excessively-prideful, limitlessly-egotistical, lack a mature conscience, and lack empathy.
The belief of narcissists is that they are perfect and that everyone else needs to change and follow their lead. They are totally clueless about their own defects and shortcomings. Maharaj put it this way:
“A man blind from birth knows not what darkness means.”
Narcissists are unconscious of and unaware of and are in denial of their own faults but are highly attuned to the faults of others:
Maharaj: “When we are not conscious, it appears to us as darkness.”
Yet the narcissist does not see his or her own darkness; in fact, a narcissist sees nothing that anything to do with truth. The are operating on autopilot, period, as are sociopaths and psychopaths.

Maharaj understood that the task of "the realized teacher" is this: “to dispel the ignorance and darkness in the mind,” he said; but the mind must first register the presence of ignorance and darkness before it will seek out one that can bring the light which ends ignorance and darkness.
Few narcissists will ever understood the depth of their ignorance and darkness, so few will ever seek wisdom and light. Most narcissists have a huge dose of perfectionism working as well so if they happen to glimpse a weakness or failure, they will spin the truth - that is, lie - to themselves and others and then return to a self-image of perfection; therefore, change seldom if ever comes.
The sages have long understood that those traits manifest when personality identifications / ego-states generate - as they always do - personality disorders and the use of ego-defense mechanisms which, in turn, produce persons who often end up in positions of leadership or control and who “commit crimes, cause social distress, and create severe problems.”

Maharaj said that the call is for “a deep and fundamental shift from darkness to light, from inadvertence to awareness.”
That call is seldom answered, the power of the hidden, subconscious agendas of multiple personalities being so forceful that false identities will control all thoughts and words and actions and will almost always guarantee the continuation of ignorance and darkness.
So it is, but so it need not remain.

THE EXPLANATION
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"
THE EXPLANATION
If
looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total
waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are
resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they
are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning?
There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept
of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa
Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in
close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and
glorify and give thanks to."
The
reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god
that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're
dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with
narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism
evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next,
in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had
her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part
of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the
"loving and caring" part.
"That
is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not
an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or
anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to
want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the
'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and
caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love
and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That
said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core
concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional
courage required to question the very existence of their institution in
light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children
and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of
billions of their members past and present.
And
that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about
why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to
continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and
conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will
they? Not likely. Why?
Because
what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the
international crime families which hold sway over the masses as
criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major
international crime families and which are the most influential and have
the largest memberships?
The
Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion
followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while
laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank);
Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers)
like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and
sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created
environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies
like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With
all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership
ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be
they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business,
politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and
they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the
driving forces at play.
The
masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their
groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem
because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the
people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the
masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved
with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the
continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate
the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types
of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
