THE DARK TRIAD

In 2015, a host of Republican candidates announced that they would be running for the office of the President of the United States.

By 2016, many among the half of the electorate which was not dominated by the monomania which drives single-issue voters began to see this: that "other half of the electorate" included far more white supremacists than originally estimated. Why the underestimate?

Why indeed. Growing up in the South, I had seen for my entire relative existence the animus which the majority there felt toward minorities, especially blacks. For some time, many of those with deep and dark feelings of duality-based hostility toward non-whites had been operating from the shadows, at least to some degree.

By 2016, however, they were being encouraged to join the most vocal Republican candidate who was obviously a racist with a long history of bigotry and who was quite willing to expose his philosophical / ideological alignment with white supremacists and his long-held belief in the Nazi-adopted, totally bogus "science" of eugenics and Super Race genes. Those would be the first single-issue voters to align with him.

Next, he added to his white supremacist coalition large numbers of fanatical, also-often-racist evangelicals who are anti-abortion, anti-womens'-rights fanatics. They were the second group of single-issue voters to get on board with his agenda.

Like my Catholic, anti-abortion, white supremacist next-door neighbor who said that "the problems in America really started when Lincoln freed the slaves," a large contingency of the base supporting that candidate were single issue voters who had also adopted a secondary concern regarding their fellow single-issue voters' agendas; thus, a "super pac" of  white supremacist, anti-abortion voters congealed.

Soon, those familiar with the danger of such voters aligning with a duality-endorsing-danger-to-democracy mirror image of themselves began to discuss "The Dark Triad" which was obviously driving that candidate; therefore, in 2016, I - and many other observers, began discussing the duality of being driven by a triad of personality disorders which that candidate was displaying, namely, the Triad's personality traits of narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy.

[Some - instead of speaking of a dark "triad" which is driving the thoughts and words and actions of mentally and emotionally sick (Ultimately Sick) persons - talk about a dark "quadripartite" referring to those driven by the four personality disorders of narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and - occasionally mentioned here in the past - The Assholism Disorder]. To continue:

Now, another election is approaching, and more and more counselors and clinical psychologists and psychiatrists are once more in the news, discussing the implications of empowering one who is being driven by the agenda of the Dark Triad.

For thousands of years sages have discussed, and warned seekers about, the (relative) dangers of personality and personality assignment or assumption. No personality? Then no personality disorders can manifest. No manifested personality identifications and the personality disorders which they generate? Then no deterioration into the deepest and darkest neuroses and psychoses which result in the misery and suffering which have plagued humankind throughout modern history.

So, the focus need not be on one person driven by the Dark Triad or on the 60+ million followers who are driven by the Dark Triad. The focus can be on humankind in general because billions are suffering from the Ultimate Sickness and three of the key mind-related symptoms of that Sickness, identified by Maharaj as "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity."

In fact, Maharaj offered many pointers regarding the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness: he noted that modern-day humans are not usually interested in the least in seeking the Ultimate Medicine because they have been raised with the notion that everything which needs to be understood can be understood by listening to ancient traditions and by learning hand-me-down dogma and by reading supposedly “holy” books (which most persons are introduced to from early on and which they are told contain everything that they will ever need to know). 

He spoke of the fact that almost all humans nowadays are conditioned to be obsessive and compulsive and perfectionistic and fanatical, but he also noted that his visitors should be aware of the fact that that almost all seekers at one point or another will also become obsessive and compulsive and perfectionistic and fanatical about their seeking. Thus . . .

** He warned against their obsession with body identification, their obsession with mind identification, and their obsession with personality identifications. 

** He warned that the mind should be abandoned because “It is the mind that brought you into bondage” so seekers should “go beyond it altogether.” 

** He said, "Distrust your mind, and go beyond." Relatedly, he noted that “perfection is a state of the mind”; ergo, beliefs about perfectionism should go as well. 

** As for being fanatical, he pointed out that he was "dispassionate" and advised seekers to “be dispassionate,” that is, not caught up in the emotional intoxication which is generated by false identities and which drives seekers to be excessively passionate. 

** He described himself as a “dispassionate witness” and he spoke of seekers being “the dispassionate observer” as he endorsed “dispassionate awareness” - not “zealous awareness” or “fervent witnessing” or "obsessive seeking."

A man shared this recently, his words making clear that these are among his most fervent beliefs and motivators: 

His greatest source of pride is his status in an AA group where he is called an "Old-Timer" within their walls. 

He is more dedicated than ever to seeking, to being a true “Spiritual Giant” who is raising on a daily basis that state to even greater heights. 

Even after decades, he still listens to audio tapes of the “Big Name Teachers and Speakers” every day of his obsessive-mind-driven and compulsive-behavior-dominated life. 

One slight hitch: his wife and children are ready to leave him. Wonder why? 

Has anything changed since the days when he was out drinking and ignoring his family? 

Only what he is obsessing about, namely, “recovery” rather than booze; beyond that, the family members are being ignored now as much as ever. 

He is still as unavailable as ever. 

He is still as obsessive and as compulsive as ever, but still, not about them. 

He is a full-blown fanatic, still being driven by amazingly high levels of the Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder. 

Yet he is proud of his multiple decades of “sobriety” so he ignored totally the consideration I offered that his fanaticism likely has an O-CD component and that he needs to address that disorder; 

thus, he will likely continue to retreat to his private room nightly to listen to his tapes; he will continue to abandon and ignore his family; and someday he will be shocked and angry and depressed when they ignore him once and for all by finally leaving a home where his passive forms of abuse and neglect continue to occur. 

What he has also missed or ignored is this message from the co-founder of his program: 

There are four levels of “sobriety,” including not only the physical sobriety which he has maintained but also including three other levels which he has never come even close to, namely, “mental sobriety,” “spiritual sobriety,” and “emotional sobriety.” Only one out four of the co-founder's defined “goals” has been reached. A score of 25% is usually considered to be a failing score on most any scale. 

Moreover, 

a. all who are obsessed with anything have been fooled by those who have “hooked” them by implanting emotionally-intoxicating nonsense in their minds; and

b. those whose minds have been filled with baseless beliefs will think foolish thoughts, will say foolish words, and will take foolish actions. 

What, specifically, can seekers obsess about which will then drive them to behave compulsively, impulsively, and foolishly?

politics 

religion 

work 

accumulating

finding “love” 

being admired 

escaping and avoiding 

controlling 

being dependent and co-dependent and not working and being taken care of for life by a person or an institution 

the state of an imaginary “soul” or “spirit”

the highest levels of supposed SELF-identifications

and 

their subsequent roles, including: 

“The Super Religious One” 

“The Spiritual Giant” 

“The Wise One” 

or 

“The Wisest One” 

"The Knower” 

or 

“The Knower of All” 

“The Holiest One” 

and 

“The Supreme One” (to name but a few). 

The invitation is to calm down, relax, take it easy, stop with all the spiritual workaholism and religious going and doing and zooming. Yet that is far easier said than done. Why? 

Because personality disorders begin in the mind but are often supported and maximized by less-than-healthy body conditions. A body which is fed vegetables only will function efficiently if that body has a metabolic type geared to function on vegetables alone. But if not, then the body can shift to a super-alkaline state and moodiness and depression can manifest. Those traits are considered by most to be mind problems, but there can also a body component as well. 

For example, if someone with a metabolic body type which requires proteins and meat or a combination of meat or fish and vegetables felt great all morning but then eats a lettuce salad for lunch, the subsequent shift to alkalinity can leave that person feeling lethargic or "down" during the afternoon. One can seek all of the counseling imaginable, but if a body issue is present but is not addressed, then the mental / emotional condition will continue. 

Similarly, if one is O-CD, that is a mind issue most certainly, but there can be physical component involving a chemical imbalance. In such cases, some naturopathic doctors will prescribe not a synthetic drug but a natural, organic supplement to restore a body's chemicals to a healthy balance and help eliminate the symptoms of the Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder. 

Maharaj came to see that trying to compartmentalize treatment of the Ultimate Sickness by addressing a single cause such as a “dogma-deficiency” or a “spiritual malady” / “sick spirit” would be a useless exercise in the end and that it is the mind which is the root of humankind’s problems. Yet the irony is that there is often a physical component as well which can also impact mental and emotional issues. 

As early as the 1600’s, information about that problem was offered, but few since then have even read the words of Spinoza, much less understood his message fully. He said: 

“Whatever increases, decreases, limits or extends the body’s power of action, increases, decreases, limits or extends the mind’s power of action” and “Whatever increases, decreases, limits or extends the mind’s power of action, also increases, decreases, limits or extends the body’s power of action.” 

The invitation here: be wise enough to understand that the cause of anything can never be compartmentalized and put into one, single “box.” 

Maharaj said, “The cause of all is . . . all.” Spot on. 

Meanwhile, to be obsessive, compulsive, perfectionistic, and fanatical is to assure that no chance for lightness will exist and that one’s relative existence will be dominated by heaviness instead.

Therefore, those traits and more, rooted in personality assignment and assumption, will be the focus as the Dark Triad is once more explained and discussed.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you." 

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and 

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and 

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

--Pope John Paul II 

"There is no hell."

--Pope Francis, the current pope

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium. 

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
