WHY ELSE REALIZE?
Another reason to realize is to be able to shift beyond the blocked consciousness and reach a state of awareness.
Robert Powell said that Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj provided "powerful antidotes to unawarenesses," that is, to the condition in which person abide if suffering from the typically-untreated Sickness which marks and mars the relative existence.
The Ultimate Sickness, like most sicknesses, is passed on when persons interact; it is contracted when a previously-well person is exposed to another person or persons who have the Sickness, and the exposure always begins at an early age.
The sickness is passed on via the "germ" of programming and the "virus" of conditioning and the "contaminate" of acculturation and the "bacteria" of domestication.
The Ultimate Sickness is primarily a mental and emotional sickness that is contracted during when exposed to the ignorance and insanity that has already spread throughout every culture on the planet.
Exposure to the carriers also results in personality disorders which can only be addressed by the casting aside of all personality in order to continue to move along the "path" to wellness.
The Ultimate Medicine - which is required for being free of all of the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness - must be administered and taken in exact, clear-cut stages.
The problem? In the medical profession, treatments are developed via a trial-by-error, via formulating a medicine, inviting members of the public to join a test group, giving half of the people in the group the medicine and the other half a placebo, and then measuring the effectiveness – or lack of effectiveness – on those who received the medicine.
Sometimes the efficacy of the treatment plan becomes obvious early on; often, the medicine might appear early on to be effective only to see later on that the effects of the treatment did not last long-term.
When treating the Ultimate Sickness with the first two versions of the Ultimate Medicine which Maharaj experimented with, he saw that both of those versions seemed to address the issues that come with the Ultimate Sickness;
however, when he eventually saw that the results were not lasting with either of those methods, he explained why persons seem to grasp the understanding and then seemingly “lose” it” in this way:
“You are so used to the support of concepts that when your concepts leave you, although it is your true state, you get frightened and try to cling to them again.”
(1) “Concepts”
and
(2) “being frightened”
and
(3) “clinging to ideas” which have already been exposed as having no validity
all three have to do with “the mind.”
Per Maharaj, 99.99% of all persons on the planet suffer from the Ultimate Sickness which is a Sickness caused by believing in invalid concepts (and that has only to do with the mind).
Ninety-seven percent of the persons on the planet report that they are affiliated with one religion or another, and no person or institution has come up with more invalid, false, and myth-and-superstition-based concepts than religion.
Therefore, religion - which depends monetarily on persons continuing to believe thousands of invalid, false, myth-and-superstition-based concepts which render them unaware of truth and reality - cannot possibly provide the necessary "powerful antidotes to unawarenesses" mentioned by Powell.
Next, in addition to the 7.4 billion persons who report that they hold their religious concepts and beliefs in high esteem, there are millions more who proudly report, “I am not religious! I am spiritual!”
Millions of those types go to spiritual meetings where they go into a special room and begin with an opening prayer and then talk about God and halfway through pass a basket and collect monetary donations and then talk about God some more and then close with the Christian “Lord’s Prayer.” But they are not religious? Really?
Meanwhile, they are steeped in the same kind of concepts as the religious, even telling their members to invent their own concept of a God they can like.
[Maharaj: “First of all you identify something as being good or bad for yourself. Then, in an effort to acquire good or to get rid of the bad, you have invented a God. Then you worship such a God and . . . you pray to that God for something good to happen to you.”]
Therefore, spirituality - which thrives on persons continuing to believe thousands of invalid, false, myth-and-superstition-based concepts which render them unaware of truth and reality - cannot possibly provide the necessary "powerful antidotes to unawarenesses" mentioned by Powell.
Just as pouring gasoline on a fire will not put out the fire but will only result in making the fire spread even more, so also the case is that pouring more concepts on a concept-based Sickness will not put an end to the Sickness but will only result in making the Sickness spread even more.
The reason Maharaj’s early experiments with different forms of the Ultimate Medicine failed is because he first used a religious / non dual version of the Medicine. The result was tantamount to tossing gasoline on a fire in an effort to put out the fire.
Later, when Westerners found their way to the loft, he allowed them to shift him away from the religious / non-dual version of the Medicine and to use a spirituality / non-dual version of the Medicine. Again, that amounted to tossing gasoline on a fire in an effort to put out the fire.
After he realized that neither version of those two Medicines was resulting in long-term freedom from the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness, it came to him that the Ultimate Sickness has nothing to do with persons knowing too little dogma and has nothing to do with a “sick spirit” or a “spiritual malady” but has everything to do with issues rooted in a warped human mind.
It was then that he became convinced once and for all that the Ultimate Sickness is a mind Sickness and that stuffing even more ideas into the mind cannot possibly address the problems which result from an already-overloaded mind which has been filled with nonsensical, dreamed-up concepts.
While experimenting with different versions of the Ultimate Medicine – as happens in the medical community even now as they experiment with different medicines – Maharaj reached a point where he admitted his earlier versions of the Medicine did not work. He set them aside and began using a psychology / non-dual version of the Medicine and stayed with that to the end.
The same mistakes were made here, and the same changes were made here.
So why realize?
1. In order to stop using the source of one’s sickness to try to treat one’s sickness
and
2. To stop living like a child unless one is actually still a child.
That is, in order to talk and behave like an adult if of an adult age rather than like a child regurgitating the nonsense put into her or his mind by adults who themselves were still thinking and talking and behaving like a six-year-old.
[According to the Christian’s “holy book,” an influential Christian said, “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways.”]
So why else?
3. In order to develop an adult-level ability to question nonsense rather than allowing blind faith to inspire one to accept like a child anything heard from the mouth of an “authority figure” as truth.
Sheep will follow a leader right over the side of a cliff; children in a group will follow their group’s leader into the most destructive actions imaginable (relatively speaking); and adults around the globe are similarly trapped in their willingness to blindly “follow the leader.”
Of the nine basic personality types, only Type Fours (such as Maharaj) will stand up to so-called “authorities” and challenge them.
On the other hand, Type Sixes always blindly follow a leader.
The rub?
Type Fours make up only ½ of 1% of the planet’s population.
Type Sixes make up 50%+ of the planet’s population.
Thus the majority of persons on the planet already have a built in self-destruct mode which robs them of any ability to be independent and free and locks them instead into a mindset which accepts the belief systems and thoughts and words and actions of anyone or any institution that is willing to take care of them.
So why else realize?
4. To stop living like an adult who has a sheepish, dependent, debilitated, impotent six-year-old trapped inside their minds who is pulling all the strings and levers which control one's every thought and word and action.
5. In order to be free (which requires understanding that freedom – like imprisonment – is “a mind thing”).
Far more people around the globe are imprisoned in “ignorance and stupidity and insanity” than will ever be locked away in jails.
Moreover, each human must constantly declare one's own independence. In the U.S., for example, a Declaration of Independence signed in 1776 has not a damn thing to do with whether you are free and independent or not. Quite to the contrary, all humans must constantly declare their own independence from those who would control them.
For Personality Type Four "Rebels Against Authority," that comes automatically. For the other 99.5% of all humans on the planet, it requires being tired of being a captive, requires attaining new levels of courage, and requires having a willingness to take all of the steps necessary to truly be free.

THE EXPLANATION
If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."
The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.
"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and
"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.
And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?
Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?
The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.
The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
