TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS
ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. [See the offer in gold text following this post for details on how you can watch a retreat on video which includes a detailed discussion of all seven of the steps on the path as used by Maharaj]
2. Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns. See the green text after today's post for the full meaning and implications of that.
3. A new video ("Number Ten: Awakening Together Satsang, March 2018") has now been added in the far right column of this page, offering the opportunity to view a recent 2018 satsang session with Floyd being interviewed by Regina and Jacqueline of "The Awakening Together Group." (See the details in the blue text after this post.)
WHY ELSE REALIZE?
In order to attain the freedom which only comes during the manifestation with factual, science-based understandings of the functioning of the totality and the cause of all that happens in the relative existence
as opposed to
being driven by
bogus-magical-supernatural-devout-spiritual thinking involving a “God who is in charge of everything, all of which happens for one of his reasons or another.”
If there is no scientific understanding, then every happening which is a natural event will be assigned some supernatural cause which always results in false gratitude and / or angry blaming and / or confusion and turmoil when asking “Why? Why? Why?”
Several days ago, people who live in Houston, Texas which is just south of the Walden area where I live were being told to prepare for the potential of being struck once more by a hurricane.
With a population still experiencing their untreated trauma which came with Hurricane Harvey two years ago, and with uncollected debris even yet remaining in high piles alongside city streets instead of being hauled away
The population was triggered emotionally to go into action.
My energy provider’s flyer was once again being shown on local news programs
along with video of people lined up in stores to buy supplies.
Regular updates of the storm’s predicted path were dominating airtime, and people were being interviewed about their fears pending another hurricane strike, including persons heading into local churches to pray for “deliverance” . . .
(meaning, “Dear God, please let this hurricane miss our city,” and actually meaning, “Dear God, let this hurricane hit anywhere else but here. We’ve had our share of suffering, so let someone else deal with it this time”).
This morning, many are claiming their prayers were answered when they awoke to see this updated radar pic with its cone of probability showing Houston would very likely be outside the strike zone:
New Orleans already had flooding earlier this week, and by this time tomorrow, much of Louisiana’s southern parishes will be under water and the newscasts will, as usual, broadcast a variety of magical-thinking-based reactions:
“God is good. We lost everything we owned and we have no insurance, but at least we’re all okay. Thank you Jesus!”
or
“God works in mysterious ways. I don’t know what all caused him to do this, but he has his reasons. There’s a Divine Plan, and we can’t understand it, but there’s a reason for everything. It’s all good.”
or
“God is trying to send a message. We got gays getting’ married and people altering the God-given sex that he wanted them to be. Better wake up, people! God help us!”
In addition to that nonsense, there is the other “good” / “bad” duality-based nonsense which drives persons to ask,
“Why do bad things happen to good people?”
and
“Why do good things happen to bad people?”
The real belief behind the first question?
“Why do bad things happen to good people?” really means, “I’m a damn good person, and I want to understand why God keeps letting so much miserable crap happen to me? I deserve better became I am so much better, dammit!”
And the real belief behind the second question?
“Why do good things happen to bad people?” is, “I have become one jealous, envious, covetous and resentful SOB after years of watching rotten people getting all of the breaks that I deserve and that they don’t deserve at all. And I’m angry with God for not providing justice for the good and justice for the bad. Am I pissed? Hell yeah!!”
How many are trapped in the arrogance of thinking they are among the “good” people as revealed in the first question above vs. how many are driven by jealousy and resentment as revealed by asking the second question? A search engine can give a clue:
Google “Why do bad things happen to good people?” and you’ll get 781,000,000 hits.
Google “Why do good things happen to bad people?” and you’ll get 2. 63 billion hits.
Jealousy and resentment win by about a 3 to 1 margin! Go jealousy and rfesentment!
And that’s revealed by studying the behavior of those who assign supernatural causes to what are actually all-natural events. Per that experiment, it seems that people are three times more concerned if others (whom they think are worse than them) are doing better than they are doing.
Cling to the dogma-based or spirituality-based belief that a God is in charge - and even knows if a sparrow dies - and believe that he controls everything that happens and anger or false gratitude will follow:
False gratitude: “Oh, thank you God for not allowing the hurricane to hit us this weekend.”
Anger: “Dammit! Give us in Louisiana a break! From 1851 and 2004, we’ve had direct hits from 49 hurricanes. Enough is enough! I am most displeased with you, God!!!”
The same sense of feeling “torn” and confused comes when people believe that the birth defects of their newborn are a result of “God’s will” for some reason.
The same sense of feeling “torn” and confused comes when people believe that floods or lightning-triggered fires or droughts or volcanic eruptions or tornadoes or cyclones or earthquakes or famines or avalanches or pandemics or epidemics or tsunamis are not all-natural events but are supernatural events triggered by a god whose actions are so difficult to understand.
Well of course they are confused. Go into a desert and watch a mirage and try to understand why it does what it does when in fact it is not doing anything and it doesn’t actually exist at all. To believe a mirage is real and is doing something and controlling everything is a setup for subsequently feeling torn and being totally confused.
Maharaj made clear: believing in a god that is in charge is nothing more than the invention of the warped human mind:
"First of all you identify something as being good or bad for yourself. Then, in an effort to acquire good or to get rid of the bad, you have invented a God. Then you worship such a God and . . . you pray to that God for something good to happen to you."
George Carlin explained it this way: “There’s no difference in
(a) believing that you can pray to God and get the power to have what you want and the power to avoid what you don’t want
and
(b) believing in the power of a four-leaf clover or a horseshoe or the wishing well or the rabbit's foot; same as the Mojo Man, same as the Voodoo Lady, etc.”
Again, Maharaj said:
"Science will advance to the point someday that it will prove all of these teachings."
Well, that has happened. Science has proved that . . .
A. All is energy-matter; that
B. energy-matter cannot be created, nor can it be destroyed; that
C. therefore, no one (and no One) ever created - or destroyed - anything; so
D. there is no creator or Creator. (Christ made that point 2000 years earlier: "Heaven and earth shall [both] fade away" and "No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven' because it only exists now, within.")
Science has also proved that . . .
E. all is merely cycling. Per The Second Law of Thermodynamics, everything that comes together will eventually come apart. Nothing will remain "intact" as is. That applies to the physical, elemental plant food body and it applies to any dreamed up gauzy, transparent, "soulful essence" form of that body. No rebirth; no eternal life in a heaven or hell; no post-manifestation form of any kind.
F. Thus, there is no who-ness now, there can be no WHO-ness now, and there will be no WHO-ness later.
G. So, why concern oneself with "later" and seeking an eternal reward or some "superior state" now when the only real chance for happiness ("reward") is . . . now, not "later" if one can look to science to find the natural cause of naturally-occurring events rather than believing some dreamed up notion that naturally-occurring events do not occur because everything that happens has a supernatural cause.
Peace has a far better chance of manifesting if fact-based awarenesses are in place; by contrast, no chance at all of peace manifesting exists if a person is dominated by magical-thinking and magical beliefs.
The suggestion? Find the real "why."
Maharaj: "The cause of all is . . . all."
Whatever happens is a result of everything else that has happened before and is not caused by what would be an otherwise very confused and confusing god.
To be continued.

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.
THE EXPLANATION
If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."
The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.
"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)
and
"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)
and
"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."
--Pope John Paul II
"There is no hell."
--Pope Francis, the current pope
in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.
And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?
Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?
The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.
The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
