An Advaita Vedanta realization, enlightenment, nisarga yoga site discussing non-duality (nonduality), your original nature, and dwelling in the natural state as taught by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

FROM A SITE VISITOR: Just “found” Advaita and just found your site. Been reading some recent entries. Have dealt with the fallacy of the body idea. All these years, looking for peace of mind—never considered there’s no such thing, as you say. Makes sense now. Problems with personality though I don’t get yet. Can you give me in a nutshell something that would help me understand that and the Nisarga yoga you mention? Thx. Frank.

F.: (Continued from yesterday) The nisarga yoga deals with the original “source” and the original nature of the seeker and offers a method by which seekers can remove the haze that blocks clear seeing, by which seekers can Realize Fully, and by which seekers can thereafter dwell in the natural state for the remainder of the manifestation.

The teachings offered via the nisarga system can allow the essence of beingness to manifest for the remainder of the manifestation while simultaneously allowing the reality of the non-beingness to be understood as well.

If that beingness and non-beingness are both understood, then the dreams during sleep periods and the dreams during the waking periods are seen to both be nothing more than happenings in consciousness. At that point, no illusions will any longer be mistaken for reality.

When illusions are no longer mistaken for reality, then insane-like thoughts and talks and behaviors end. When insane-like thoughts and talks and behaviors end, natural living begins. All happenings become—as with the deer—spontaneous and natural.

No unnatural or self-destructive actions occur. No supernatural beliefs are attained and fought over. There will be no dogma, no practices, no rules, no beliefs, no concepts, and no emotional intoxication. Neither will there be any moralistic judging or criticizing. Neither religious dualities nor spiritual arrogance can manifest anymore.

You—the consciousness—will know You Are, but You will not believe that What You Are is defined by any of those roles or identities or ego-states that had been formerly assigned or adopted.

The sense of Am-ness will be there, but the sense of “I am this” or “I am that” will not be there. You will suffer neither dependency nor co-dependency. You will be burdened with no false beliefs about body or “mind” or personality.

You will live naturally, so you will no longer dream up a plethora of actions that require a do-er who “needs” to be doing things to “get spiritually fit” or to “stay spiritually fit.”

That dwelling in the natural state comes after body identification ends, after belief in the content of the “mind” is seen to be delusional, and after all assumption of ego-states (false identities, personas, personality types) ends as well. Then, You abide naturally, not unlike the deer, living spontaneously…witnessing what happens in order to sustain the manifestation for a period but with non-attachment.

You know that You Are, but You do not have any notion that a body can define Who You Are. Neither are You burdened with the content of a “mind,” and—while persons might try to assign labels to You—none of those register with You in the least. Please enter into the silence of contemplation. (To be continued)
