An Advaita forum focusing on Realisation, enlightenment, non-duality, Real Love, peace, freedom, Your original nature, abiding naturally, the Oneness, the Noneness, and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Here, there is nothing that is believed, so there is no one here who wants you to believe anything, either. Here, the invitation is to be free of all that you have been programmed, conditioned, acculturated, and domesticated to believe so that you can be free, period.

FROM A SITE VISITOR: Any chance Louise will be posting any time soon? PS No offense! – I like your posts but enjoy her style too.

F.: First, there is no one here to be offended, but to answer the question, yes, Louise will be posting later this month. Thanks for asking.

Next, the invitation of this series is to shift to a state of de-specialization, to de-accumulation, to de-personalization, to de-identification, to de-conceptualization, to decrease, to deflation, to deletion, and to detachment.

DETACHMENT / NON-ATTACHMENT

First, detachment might happen along the “path” as persons begin to forfeit their attachment to body identification and to the fallacious content of the “mind” and to the many personalities that have been assumed; however, if the seeker reaches the fifth of seven steps on the “journey” from the “I” to the Absolute, it is “non-attachment” that happens.

If you read from the archives the 4 November 2006 posting, you will find a fuller explanation of the difference between detachment and non-attachment. Here is a portion of the consideration offered to a site visitor who was concerned with the inability to feel that can result from detachment:

Acceptance of The Void, the Oblivion, the Nothingness is not about being “detached.” It is about non-attachment. Detachment does result in the robotic state of having no feelings, which you understandably want to avoid. Non-attachment involves feeling...but feeling without attachment to the feeling, without attachment to any circumstances, and without attachment to any false identifications (which leads to emotional intoxication). The state of non-attachment happens when you reach the fifth of the seven steps on the “journey” to Realization and function as an objective witness to happenings in the relative existence.

DELETION

Yesterday, these pointers were offered:

The movement is from a belief that “I am all of these things that I and my culture believe I am” to “Maybe I am not all of those things” to…

“Is it possible that whatever I Am is none of the things which my culture and I have thought all along that I am?” to “I am merely a temporarily-manifested speck of consciousness” to “I Am That or This” to “I am presently nothing more than a space” to “I Am the Void” to…

“I am nothing. All that anyone has ever reported that I am is now annulled. I am identity-less and form-less.” As far as the Nisarga Yoga and the Direct Path Method are concerned, that is what the sequence of de-creasing looks like.

Mentioned above is the “acceptance of The Void, the Oblivion, the Nothingness.” Also discussed previously on this site is the point that there is a longing among persons (among the non-Realized) that most of them will never identify, but it is a longing to be free of all of the baggage that has been picked up along the way, to be free of the form (of this space), even as the manifestation continues, and to abide as that which is completely formless.

The baggage includes accumulations and the efforts that must be exerted to (A) try to retain those accumulations and to (B) maintain all of those accumulations. (The “maintenance” costs often exceed the initial cost of the accumulations.)

The baggage includes the personas—the false selves—that require great quantities of energy, time, deception of "others," and self-deception in order to maintain accumulations and images. The baggage includes things not needed but bought nevertheless—things that could not be afforded, in fact—in an effort to sustain a false self (or selves) and to impress both persons known and persons not even known.

The baggage includes all of the false concepts and ideas and beliefs that have been accepted as truth without even the slightest consideration or questioning. The baggage contains all of the heaviness of what is being carried…mentally or emotionally or physically or "personally" or ideologically or religiously or spiritually.

The baggage includes everything that persons believe makes them “something,” preventing the lightness of being nothing from manifesting. Rather than adding to, the invitation of the Nisargan is to de-lete.

To delete is to remove or to eliminate or to make invisible. The Full Understanding will make clear that (1) there is nothing to remove except the belief that there is something to remove; that (2) there is nothing to eliminate except the belief that appearances are real rather than mere misperceptions;

and that (3) I am the invisible energy which was—prior to manifesting in what is called “this universe”—The Invisible Void, the Unseen Oblivion, the Absolute Nothingness. Abide as such and relish the absolute freedom, the absolute joy, and the absolute peace that is only available therein. Please enter the silence of contemplation.

Now you can receive for $40 a downloadable computer file version of the same 7-hour satsang that seekers receive when they visit for the Advaita Retreat with Floyd. You will be guided through the seven steps from identification with the false "I" to the Absolute (and beyond).

SIX WAYS THAT SEEKERS HAVE REALIZED:

1. BY WATCHING the 4-Disk Video (DVD) Set, or the same retreat available as a downloadable file. Either will provide an entire seven-hour retreat / series of satsang sessions showing three seekers being guided through all seven steps by Floyd and can provide viewers with an “experiential,” step-by-step series of satsang meetings that will move the viewers from identification with the I to abidance as the Absolute and then to abidance as That Which Is beyond

Some seekers are already using the computer file version and the DVD sets for meetings in groups in homes, playing the retreat, pausing for discussion, etc.

To find out more or to purchase the DVD set or the downloadable computer file version of the retreat, click:
DVD or Downloadable computer file versions of the Four-Day Advaita Retreat

Option “A” is for the downloadable file version, Option “B” is used to order the DVD set for delivery inside the U.S., Option “C” for international orders.

For the download, Paypal will send me a notice that payment has been received and then I will send by e-mail the downloading instruction, password, etc.

[It is recommended that you watch the video with pen and paper in hand. Write whatever you need clarified. You'll see that there are constant reviews and you might find an answer later in the seven-hour presentation. Then, after you watch it all, there will be a common ground for discussion. Purchase of the DVD’s or the file will include the right to clarifications and answers to your specific questions via e-mail.]
