A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: For those who have read the eBook below entitled FROM THE I TO THE ABSOLUTE, or that came to any of the satsanga sessions conducted during years past, or that came for what is now an only-occasional and usually one-on-one retreat, the term “Applied Advaita” is familiar.
There are two distinct schools among “believers,” and their beliefs are distinguished by where they “take their stand” concerning the duality-based debate regarding “the Noumenon vs. the Erscheinung / phenomenon,” the latter involving appearances, “apparitions,” or things supposedly “known” via the use of the senses and the former dealing with what can supposedly be “known” without the use of the senses.
It has been explained here in past postings that “Noumenon” came into modern usage through Immanuel Kant who distinguished between things that are “thought of” and that “ultimately reflect intuition” vs. things phenomenal which are said to be perceived via the senses or through immediate experience or which are capable of being observed by one or more of the human senses.
Earlier, Platonic philosophy reinforced the dualistic notions of “different from” and “better than” by suggesting that “the phenomenal realm involves the world of sensory reality that is known to the uneducated mind” whereas the Noumenal realm deals with the “world of ideas that can be known by the philosophical mind” … by those with an “advanced” or “better mind.”
Yet all of those beliefs and perspectives are rooted in ancient ignorance and misunderstanding which gave rise to ignorant teachings which eventually evolved into the planet’s current 4,200 religions that over 97% of the earth’s population claim to be affiliated with (along with tens of thousands of subsets - that is, denominations or sects).
[Studies have shown that Christianity alone has been dualistically “divided into six major ecclesiastico-cultural blocs, divided into 300 major ecclesiastical traditions, and composed of over 33,000 distinct denominations …. ” The battle lines that have inspired Muslims to kill Muslims have always been sectarian lines. And all other religions have formed their own divisions as well.]
Thus, in the earliest pagan religions, in Platonic philosophy, in Kantian philosophy, and in the earlier ancient sky cults that have evolved into over four thousand modern-day sky cults, the distinction have been drawn between …
a. “evil phenomenal things” vs. “good Noumenal things”; between
b. “higher and lower” things; between
c. desirable “advanced minds” and undesirable “uneducated minds”; and especially between
d. realms that are desirable and realms that are undesirable.
The result has been a planet occupied by seven billion persons who, with few exceptions, have been programmed and conditioned in ways that inspire ego-state assumption, egotism-driven judging, and then constant “upgrading” or “downgrading” (that is, constant absorption in their dual-mindedness which results, in turn, in being “unstable in all ways”).
That has generated a dualistic “mindset” globally that inspires “The Wife” to self-elevate her status to “The Super Wife” and that inspires “The Husband” to self-elevate to “The Super Husband.” Such upgrading of a culturally-assigned ego-state is at the root of the 50-60% divorce rate on the globe.
It has generated the dualistic, xenophobic mindset that drives those in one city to believe they are better than persons in another city; that inspires those in one state to believe they are better than persons in another state; that drives those in one nation to believe they are better than persons in another nation;
that drives those in one race to believe they are better than persons in another race; that inspires those in one economic bracket to believe they are better than persons in a lower bracket; and that drives those with one sexual preference to believe they are better than persons with a different orientation.
Different. Different. Different. Better than. Better than. Better than.
All dualistic nonsense which has left almost all of a planet’s population to be, again, “unstable in all ways.”
That process of upgrading and downgrading has driven persons to …
1. believe in this “lesser world” on planet earth and to
2. believe in a “higher, better world” that can be accessed when someone “good” “dies” and leaves “this world” (an “upgrading” of “this world”) and to
3. believe in a “lesser, lower world” (a downgrading of “this world”) that awaits those who have been “bad.”
That near-globally-held mindset would inspire persons to look at the summative statement of non-duality (I AM THAT; I AM”) and to suggest that the “THATness” is preferred vs. the AMness which should not be preferred.
Since the earliest instance when a leader with a hidden agenda of controlling and gaining power over others set forth to his followers the notion of there being dual worlds - to followers who blindly bought into that notion - there has been a belief in
(A) this “bad” world vs. a “good” one where the gods live, the gods who are supposedly controlling events on earth and a belief in
(B) a good eternal life in a good world – or upgrade - vs. a bad eternal life in a bad world – or downgrade.
Be the upgraded version of this world called “Heaven” or “The Higher Place" or “Nirvana” or “Paradise” or “The Holiest Place” or “The World to Come” ad infinitum, and be the downgraded version called “Hell” or “The Underworld” or “The Low Place,” ad infinitum, the fact is this:
the nature of the “relationship“ between the imagined and imaginary dual worlds has become the ultimate source of controversy; of debate; of division; of argument; of a sense of separation;
of a sense of different-from-ment; of a sense of better-than-ment; and the source of a sense of self-righteousness that has led - more than any other factor throughout the history of humanity - to the planet's constant judging, fighting, wars, torturing, maiming, and killing.
To be continued.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: [Continued from yesterday] A woman shared some of the assertions offered by a Tibetan Center she visited:
We are constantly seeking.
Happiness is dependent on the state of your mind.
The mind is the result of your doing.
It's your own show.
And then references were made to “the mature mind” and to “empowerment."
Yesterday, there was a pause to invite site visitors to study each of those concepts and see how you would respond or to speculate about what you conclude might have been the response from here.
So, the question to any who read those contentions in yesterday’s post is this: Did you find any “tell’s,” any evidence that those persons making such claims have “missed the boat” completely?
Here is the response that was offered to woman:
F.: You noted, "I am still unsure if the inquiry outlined in the attachments will be a distraction." It would be wise to find the answer.
In THE VISION, I note that the shift from the 3rd to the 4th step involves the end of playing religious and spiritual personas, but one role remains for a time: "The Seeker" (which is always soon elevated to "The Super Seeker"). A Personality Type 4 has a 5 wing and connects to the 1 as well. The 1 and the 5 are "The Knower" / The Super Knower" personas. Jnana yoga is attractive to persons being driven by those personality types.
Their approach is to learn more and know more vs. un-know and un-learn it all. Not sure about your case, but the understanding here regarding each of those assertions follows. (The invitation is to read the responses in light of this pointer from Maharaj: “Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false.”)
Tibetan Center: We are constantly seeking.
F.: No, I'm not constantly seeking and no one among the Realized is constantly seeking. “The Seeker” had to go (that is, the playing the role of “The Seeker” and “The Super Seeker” had to end) in order for me to relax and take it easy and to stop making a second job out of what should be merely living.
T.C.: Happiness is dependent on the state of your mind.
F.: No, the lack of happiness is rooted in the state of the mind.
T.C.: The mind is the result of your doing.
F.: No, it's not. It's the result of THEIR doing - THEIR programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, indoctrination and brainwashing. The task for the one that would Realize and be free: to follow the seven-step “path” to liberation, meaning liberation from personality, meaning, deracinating every “personal characteristic” that was implanted in “the mind” during THEIR programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, indoctrination and brainwashing process.
A “mind” is nothing more than a storehouse where THEIR concepts and ideas and notions and thoughts and perceptions and impressions and theories and hypotheses and views (a.k.a., “beliefs”) were implanted and are now stored within a section of your brain. That should make clear that there is no such thing as “your mind” – that there is only “THEIR mind” which is now mistakenly assumed to be “your mind” containing “your beliefs.”
The book below entitled “THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS ‘PEACE OF MIND’ (There Is Only Peace If You’re Out Of Your Mind)” discusses in detail how humans originally had no mind and how that developed and evolved over thousands of years. If one would enjoy peace NOW, then one must be free of the mind NOW, and that can happen easily enough: you only need to see that what has been taught and learned is all BS. Once that is seen, one will not hold on to – much less value and even revere - the content of the mind. Then, being mindless, one is free to abide naturally (like everything else on the planet except humans).
The basic rule of non-duality: content in the mind = no contentment.
T.C.: It's your own show.
F.: No, it's not. It's THEIR show. THEY wrote
the script,
my character's / characters' words and lines,
my character's / characters' thoughts,
the directions for the way I moved across the stage of the Theater of the Lie, ad infinitum.
Either I have no show at all or I act in THEIR show.
T.C.: “The mature mind”
F.: Really?
The end game is not to be mindful. From early on, persons are far too full of mind. The end game is to be mindless, and that comes when the last belief stored there goes. Maharaj: "I have no mind" and "reach a state of zero concepts."
[One possible exception: some in the East might use a word for “mindful” that is less literal than the implied “being full of mind” or “being fully occupied with the content of the mind or with thoughts” (which would actually involve personality because thoughts and words and actions are always rooted in one or more personas). That exception: if the word for “mindful” being used happened to be “nen” - which typically refers to “sense” or “feeling” – then both of those are consistent with a non-dual, no-persona, no-identity state of being.]
Moreover, how can there be a “mature” mind when, by the age of six,
1. a primary personality type is determined, a type which will subconsciously drive thoughts and words and actions at the level of a six-year-old for the entire relative existence (unless Realization happens); and how can there be a “mature” mind when, by the age of six,
2. the dualistic “good vs. bad” concept has been established in the mind and will be a subconscious motivator for the entire relative existence (unless Realization happens)?
And because most will never Realize, and because most fixate at the age of six and, therefore, never “mature,” then how can a “mature mind” exist? It cannot. Were there any truth to the dualistic claim that two types of mind exist (a “childish mind” vs. “a mature mind”), objective witnessing would make clear that most adults behave as childishly as any six-year-old child.
That is guaranteed because most psychic development ends at the age of six, resulting in the planet being populated by a mass of non-Realized persons who behave in a childish fashion, no matter their age.
Next,
T.C.: “Empowerment.”
F.: Really?
It has been noted that the primary addiction of all humanity is an addiction to control. The secondary addiction of all humanity is an addition to power in order to be able to control.
Maharaj warned seekers to avoid what he called “The Big Name Teachers” because they claim to be offering the non-duality teachings but are actually offering a combination of (a) some non-dual pointers they have heard or read blended with (b) relative elements that appeal to the desire among the masses for control and power; thus, for one to suggest that he or she can provide persons with “power” or “empowerment” is a marketing tool used to sale a popular message or books or seminars.
Because the masses are also addicted to all things dualistic, the non-dual teachings will never be popular; therefore, a “tell” that a message is false is the fact that the message enjoys widespread popularity among the masses (specifically, among the non-Realized masses).
Power is merely a concept, and to believe that one really has power is to be delusional; to believe that one has the power to “change the world” or people in general is delusional; to believe that one can control others, long-term (whether that involves a desire to unwaveringly control employees or employers or spouses or children or the people of a particular political party or politicians or the masses in general) is delusional.
Power is about “worldly things” or about trying to use “other worldly things / Power / Powers” to try to control “worldly things.” Maharaj said: “The nearer you get to the truth, the more you lose interest in worldly affairs. Such a one will not have any interest in the world, but will act like an ordinary person.”
I just finished a series about a woman of typifies the misery of being stuck at the third step. For contrast, I offered a video of a 15-month old playing blissfully in her first rain. The two show perfectly the contrast between those stuck at the 3rd step and those who are abiding at the 4th step. As you came to see, the 3rd involved the "pink-cloud syndrome." Looking at an unjust or insane "world" through rose-colored glasses seems to give the “stuff” that we can be preoccupied with a certain appeal. That distortion goes when the religious / spiritual roles are abandoned.
You are not like that woman in my most recent series who is a total fanatic and who is destroying her body by following Eastern dietary laws and who has made a miserable relative existence by accepting quite harmful counsel (relatively speaking) from a group of Eastern women. But what might be relevant for you is the invitation in the last few paragraphs at the end of that series:
Maharaj said: "Just give up spirituality."
Then, relax. Take it easy. Calm down. Have fun. Unwind. Loosen up. Lose the proverbial stick. Lighten up. Settle down. Take a break. Chill out. Be sane. Be sound. Be logically. Be awake. Be aware. Abandon all of your false identities, even the so-called “good” ones and “holy” ones. Stop allowing dreamed up religious dogma and dreamed up spiritual principles to drive you to make a second job out of just living. Dance lightly. Enjoy what cannot possibly be enjoyed later but what can only be enjoyed NOW.
Of course, that’s all just a suggestion.
Best regards with whatever steps you take. Peace, Unity, Light, Love, f.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: “Realization” involves “realizing the truth”; being able to differentiate the true from the false; being restored to sanity; and discarding all ignorant concepts and stupid ideas (a.k.a., “beliefs”).
Not “becoming better”? Not “rising to a higher plane”? Not “making progress”? No.
Maharaj: "There is no progress."
Not “learning more and more”? Not becoming an expert in the content of a text deemed to be “holy”? No.
Maharaj: “I have no faith in anything which has ever been told, not even what has been told by the Vedas”
and
"Go to zero concepts."
Not accumulating religious and spiritual experiences to be better? No.
Maharaj said that if You realize the truth, then "both experience and experiencer will disappear."
Here, the following is often used to discuss an all-too-common pattern that has been witnessed for 2-1/2 decades: “I GOT IT! I GOT IT! I GOT IT!” followed by “Oops, I don’t have it” or “Oops, I lost it” or “Oops, I had it but lost it, which can’t be true, so I guess I never had it to start with.”
Explaining why persons seem to grasp the understanding and then seemingly “lose” it, Maharaj said: “You are so used to the support of concepts that when your concepts leave you, although it is your true state, you get frightened and try to cling to them again.”
A woman who understands non-duality almost as well as anyone ever has - but who has not yet overlaid the Full Understanding on the relative existence and then abided consistently in a simple and natural manner only - recently shared the following:
Right now, I am really just observing the self – the habitual tendencies, the default mind states, and re-establishing a daily meditation practice. Over the last few years of course, the mind / body / personality construct returned with all its old patterns, so I really have to return to the beginner practices – in meditation observing the flow of thoughts and falling in love again with silence in those brief moments when it is revealed again.
Maharaj: “That mind-language will talk only about the impressions it has collected. The knowledge ‘I Am’ is not a thought but observes the thoughts.”
She continued: I am struck by my arrogance of a few years back – that I felt so unshakably sure as the True Identity – yet how this dissolved away not into nothingness but into the old, former person. I know there was some progress, but clearly I was resting into yet another refined identity and not what was permanent.
(Again, Maharaj: "There is no progress.")
For the sake of clarity, let us pause to review
(1) what the main focus of the non-dual teachings is and what
(2) the sole “purpose” of understanding the teachings is:
a. There is an Ultimate Sickness that plagues most humans on the planet, a disease / dis-ease characterized by three key symptoms according to Maharaj: "ignorance, stupidity and insanity.”
b. the Ultimate Medicine is intended to remove those symptoms;
c. insanity can involve the brain, but is usually rooted in the part of the brain called “the mind”;
d. stupidity can involve the brain and the part of the brain called “the mind”;
e. ignorance can involve the brain and the part of the brain called “the mind,” but since most ignorance in “learned ignorance,” it more often involves “the mind” – that part of the brain where stupid beliefs (concepts, ideas, etc.) are stored and where ignorant beliefs (concepts, ideas, etc.) are stored;
f. and the sole “purpose” is to be able to accept the invitation offered in the last posting: Relax. Take it easy. Calm down. Have fun. Unwind. Loosen up. Lose the proverbial stick. Lighten up. Settle down. Take a break. Chill out. Be sane. Be sound. Be logically. Be awake. Be aware. Abandon all of your false identities, even the so-called “good” ones and “holy” ones. Stop allowing dreamed up religious dogma and dreamed up spiritual principles to drive you to make a second job out of just living. Dance lightly. Enjoy what cannot possibly be enjoyed later but what can only be enjoyed NOW.

A reminder: the process here in not to learn more but to un-learn it all. Offered here are no teachings, only un-teachings.
It must be asked, therefore: "A five-year program? Really? Would that not suggest that there is an exhaustive (and exhausting?) body of material to be learned in such a course? The Ultimate Sickness can kill or can result in a "death-in-life" existence. Does one really have five years to mess around with clearing out the debilitating content of "the mind"?
She continued: I am not sure yet if the process offered will support self-inquiry via the methods of Advaita Vedanta or will be a distraction.
Then she shared some of the initial handouts and added:
I am still unsure if the inquiry outlined in the attachments will be a distraction. My training of course is purely Advaitin – in the early stages simply resting in the sense “I Am.” So it does feel that the reflections require some mental extroversion. Anyway – see what you think.

We are constantly seeking.
Happiness is dependent on the state of your mind.
The mind is the result of your doing.
It's your own show.

(1) what the main focus of the non-dual teachings is and what
(2) the sole “purpose” of understanding the teachings is:
a. There is an Ultimate Sickness that plagues most humans on the planet, a disease / dis-ease characterized by three key symptoms according to Maharaj: "ignorance, stupidity and insanity.”
b. the Ultimate Medicine is intended to remove those symptoms;
c. insanity can involve the brain, but is usually rooted in the part of the brain called “the mind”;
d. stupidity can involve the brain and the part of the brain called “the mind”;
e. ignorance can involve the brain and the part of the brain called “the mind,” but since most ignorance in “learned ignorance,” it more often involves “the mind” – that part of the brain where stupid beliefs (concepts, ideas, etc.) are stored and where ignorant beliefs (concepts, ideas, etc.) are stored;
f. and the sole “purpose” is to be able to accept the invitation offered in the last posting: Relax. Take it easy. Calm down. Have fun. Unwind. Loosen up. Lose the proverbial stick. Lighten up. Settle down. Take a break. Chill out. Be sane. Be sound. Be logically. Be awake. Be aware. Abandon all of your false identities, even the so-called “good” ones and “holy” ones. Stop allowing dreamed up religious dogma and dreamed up spiritual principles to drive you to make a second job out of just living. Dance lightly. Enjoy what cannot possibly be enjoyed later but what can only be enjoyed NOW.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: What the Jewish people call the “Pentateuch” or the “Torah” and what Christians call the “Old Testament” may or may not have been written by Moses who may or may not have even actually existed; if he did, he may have lived 1300 or 1500 or 1600 years before a man called Jesus came onto the scene in the Middle East.
With all the questions surrounding the character – or the fictional character – called "Moses," and with all of the questions surrounding the actual authorship of the “Pentateuch” / “Torah” / “Old Testament,” one thing is without question: the author was a blatant plagiarist who told old tales and quoted old saying rather than reporting anything that was actually factual or his own experience or "God-given."
Moreover, it was not anyone named “Moses” who freed “the child of Israel” from captivity in Egypt. That was a piece of fiction that came from an ancient pagan religion, a tale that had been circulated in the Middle East for 500 years before the so-called “Moses” came onto the scene, if he did.
In that ancient pagan cult, there was a dreamed-up god named Ram who was not favored by the ruling gods. It was Ram who was supposedly called up from the underground lair to which the ruling gods had cast him; who was supposedly assigned the task of freeing up an enslaved population that the gods preferred;
who supposedly led them through a desert for forty years, using a magic staff to strike rocks and make water flow for the freed slaves; who supposedly watched as the gods dropped food from heaven for the masses; and who led them to a land of “milk, and honey, and wine” and then returned to his underground exile.
Also plagiarized by the author was the identity of the “God” that was being praised in those writings. When the real or fictional Moses saw "God" appear via a burning bush in the desert, the author asked who he was. The god supposedly answered, “I AM THAT I AM.”
[Notice that the author had heard the summative statement of non-duality but had obviously never seen it written in its original form so he did what most do and left out the semicolon rather than write “I AM THAT; I AM.” Totally plagiarized.]
Now, the point. Years later, another man arrived on the scene in the Middle East and a pointer was attributed to that man who is presently referred to as “Jesus.” In addition to sharing other non-dual points (such as, “Before Abraham was, I AM” and “When you speak of Me, speak of Me as I AM,”) notice what he modeled:
1. He was programmed early on with Jewish dogma;
2. he rebelled against the practices he saw and even took up a whip and beat some men in the temple who were preoccupied with money over the teachings;
3. he eventually left organized religion;
4. and he was introduced to the non-duality teachings which he shared among some during the final days of his existence.
It is clear from the information above that the non-dual teachings had reached the Mideast many centuries before, substantiated by the “I AM THAT I AM” misquote in the writings in the “Pentateuch” / “Torah” / “Old Testament” and also clear that most certainly the non-dual teachings were widespread by the time Jesus arrived on the scene.
For more details, you can see the book below entitled “The Non-Duality Pointers Offered by Yeshu’a (‘Jesus the Christ’)”
One can also see, therefore, that those adhering to Jewish dogma as well as those adhering to Christian dogma - as well as those adhering to a blending of the two and who now take on the identity of “Judaeo-Christians” - have been fooled:
Jews believe that their holy texts are the word of God as revealed to Moses when they are actually plagiarized texts repeating pagan tales and some Eastern teachings;
Christians believe that their holy texts are the words of God via Jesus and his followers; Mormons believe that their holy text was presented via “golden plates” by an angel named “Moroni” to their founder John Smith; and all of the organized religions of the planet are based in the same kinds of writing that have as little credibility as any of those other texts.
If Christians were actually as Christ-like as they assume they are or as they might wish they could be, they would follow his example, would leave organized religion, and would share the non-dual teachings. Krishna called such persons “fools” who believe non-truths and who take their texts to be “holy” and “inspired”; here, let a kinder, gentler take be offered: they have been fooled.
Everything they are told and now believe is reinforcing dualistic beliefs, and the Advaitin Jesus reportedly said something that would be relevant to the woman being discussed in this series: “A dual-minded person is unstable in all ways.”
The woman is the epitome of instability, as are all who are thinking the thoughts she is thinking, who are saying the words that she is saying, and who are doing the things she is doing.
No matter the term used to point to those types, they are blindly and dualistically wanting to be “good” and “holy” so that they can receive an eternal reward, whether that involves “heaven” or “Nirvana” or whatever other concept has been dreamed up to control the thoughts and words and actions of the masses.
Maharaj admonished those who have been programming and conditioned and brainwashed to believe that there is a reward for those who are "good" and "holy" in this life:
Q.: "I want to live a good life, a holy life. What am I to do?"
M: "Go home; take charge of your father's business; look after your parents in their old age. Marry the girl who is waiting for you. Be loyal, be simple, be humble. Hide your virtue. Live silently."
In other words, stop playing the phony role of “The Super Religious One” and “The Spiritual Giant” and just go home and abide normally and naturally.
And that brings us back to the woman being discussed in this series. She has been fooled. The Eastern religion and the spirituality that she is adhering to is bogus, not at all what she has been told it is. All of their teachings have been dreamed up. All are based in ignorance, superstition, myth, and tales from pagan religions, and that ignorance and superstition and myth along with those tales from pagan religions now provide the founding principles upon which all modern sky cults / religions / spiritual movements are based.
And the woman being discussed is merely one example of the billions of religious and spiritual fanatics whose programmed minds inspire them to reject the freedom of abiding in the moment and who, therefore, see NOW as something to be avoided or as something that must be devoid of all forms of bliss and joy and happiness now in order to receive a grand payoff later.
Been there, done that. The same happened with Maharaj: "I got involved in spirituality, in the business of spirituality, [but] finally I lost that love of the Self also. I have no more love for the Self."
To abide naturally means to forfeit all focus on self-ness and Self-ness after coming to understand what one is not. That mode of abiding natually happens with every living thing on this planet, except for humans.
Everything else abides naturally; only humans abide unnaturally and / or supernaturally, all the while thinking that they are the higher life form and “have dominion over” all of the other forms on the planet.
Yet the other forms are not sacrificing contentment and peace and happiness; the other forms are not abusing their plant food bodies; the other life forms are not committing suicide; the other forms are not killing their partners in record number;
the other forms are not being admitted to mental institutions in record numbers; the other forms do not believe is any duality-based belief, including later reward vs. punishment; the other species are not adhering to food plans and dietary laws and religious food rules that are destroying their bodies;
the other forms are not practicing abstinence because they believe it makes them “better” and “good” and “holy”; the other life forms are not dreading death; the other life forms do not believe that some “Grand Bookkeeper in the Sky” is logging on a two-column ledger all of their “good” acts and all of their “bad” acts in order to calculate their overall karmic record;
the other forms are not killing other forms that do not have the same beliefs (because none of the other forms have any beliefs); the other forms are not causing noise, talking endlessly, creating false images, or believing that their plant food body is an image of some greater being / Being;
the other life forms are not arming their citizenry and making it possible for their children to take up arms and then shoot multiple holes into the plant food bodies of other children; the other forms are not suffering untold levels of stress and anxiety and angst;
the other forms are devoid of coping skills and are not using legal and illegal substances to try to change the way they feel; and they are not gathering regularly to have someone else them that they need to know more and need to learn more in order to know how to live "rightly" vs. "wrongly."
All other forms – other than humans – are simply abiding naturally. What an agreeable and enjoyable and pleasing and pleasant and satisfying and delightful and fun existence the woman discussed here is forfeiting because she has accepted as "the ultimate truth" what is really just a conglomeration of false tales being told by her programmers, tales that there is something called “religion” and something called “spirituality” that are the be-all-and-end-all;
tales that “there is another life - or multiple lives - after this one”; tales about her having been born multiple times; tales about her needing to escape the cycles of birth and rebirth;
tales about her only being "good" and "holy" and "pure" if she eats the foods they want her to eat (and if she avoid the foods that her specific body’s metabolic type needs);
tales about sex not being natural but being something that is impure; and tales about the merits of tolerating misery and suffering now in order to be free of misery and suffering later.
Of that, Maharaj said: "When the birth is disproved, the great noble meaning of spirituality and the meaning of this world—everything—is disproved”
and
“There is no such thing as spirituality; whatever is, is only this worldly life, in the five-elemental play.”
Hence his admonition: "Just give up spirituality."
Then, relax. Take it easy. Calm down. Have fun. Unwind. Loosen up. Lose the proverbial stick. Lighten up. Settle down. Take a break. Chill out.
Be sane. Be sound. Be logically. Be awake. Be aware. Abandon all of your false identities, even the so-called “good” ones and “holy” ones.
Stop allowing dreamed up religious dogma and dreamed up spiritual principles to drive you to make a second job out of just living. Dance lightly. Enjoy what cannot possibly be enjoyed later but what can only be enjoyed NOW.
Of course, that’s all just a suggestion.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: Yesterday, a therapist-psychologist with several decades of experience shared that the results of recently-completed research into the way that the three metabolic body types act and react and behave (all of which are different but are each usually foreseeable and typically quite predictable) fail to follow their almost unavoidable patterns in one instance:
That instance is when personality (which subconsciously drives persons’ thoughts and words and actions) enters into the picture and results in their behaving in ways that are entirely contrary to the natural urged of their particular metabolic body types.
For example, one type is more talkative and outgoing than the other two types, but if raised in a way that eventually results in the development of a Personality Type Four or Type Five, then that person will begin to isolate. The results:
1. disharmony – an inner, dualistic sense of feeling “torn” or “ill at ease” – a feeling which is driven by a three-way body and “mind” and personality conflict;
2. chaos;
3. instability (as in, “a dual-minded person will be unstable in all ways”).
Or one’s metabolic body type might be the type that is prone toward generally being calm and collected and peaceful, but if driven to be concerned about and preoccupied with karma and births and deaths and rebirths and higher-form reincarnations or lower-form reincarnations, then one can lose the body’s natural tendency toward calmness and be driven to obsessive-compulsive behavior, especially around “religious” or “spiritual issues.
[The “obsessive” part is one half of a dual-component, mental disorder that involves the “mind” and is marked by constant, mental “chatter” and by being driven into an uncomfortable state by intrusive thoughts that produce anxiety and by being “hung up on” one single issue or belief or desire to the point of monomania. Being dominated by one’s obsession can result in bigotry, extremism, intolerance, excess zeal, obstinacy, immoderation, emotional intoxication and even madness. Such is precisely what has happened with the woman being discussed in this series.
The “compulsive” part is the other half of a dual-component, mental disorder which involves action that is rooted in obsessions and which involves repetitive behaviors that are aimed at reducing anxiety.
So, first one suffering from this disorder thinks and thinks and thinks (obsesses) and then, secondly, those thoughts result in (compulsive) actions.]
In the case of the woman being discussed, her natural inclination, as a result of her metabolic body type, would be to remain calm and collected and peaceful, but the primary personas that are driving her (“The Super Religious One” and “The Spiritual Giant”) have resulted in her being especially driven by one of her mental disorders, namely, the Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder.
The results? Again . . .
1. disharmony – an inner, dualistic sense of feeling “torn” or “ill at ease” – that is driven by a body and “mind” and personality conflict;
2. chaos;
3. instability (as in, “a dual-minded person shall be unstable in all ways”).
So, to continue with answering this question from yesterday:
What advice would Maharaj offer to the woman who believes that she is “living spiritually” and “living the right way”? The same advice he offered – especially in his later teachings - to all of those types who came his way.
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "I appeal to you with my folded hands: don't get into this spirituality."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "The sum total of my spirituality now is nothing. Even that word 'nothing' is not there, so there is no spirituality left."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "When the birth is disproved, the great noble meaning of spirituality and the meaning of this world—everything—is disproved.”
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "If [persons] come face-to-face with that root, they will be stunned into silence.”
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "After the information given to you by the mother, that you are a boy or girl, all your further acquisitions are by hearsay."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "From the Absolute no-knowing state, spontaneously, this consciousness ‘I am’ has appeared—there is no reason, no cause.”
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "There is no such thing as spirituality; whatever is, is only this worldly life, in the five-elemental play."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "Those who have apperceived my knowledge will not fall prey to the logic or spirituality expounded by others."
Q.: "I want to live a good life, a holy life. What am I to do?"
M: "Go home; take charge of your father's business; look after your parents in their old age. Marry the girl who is waiting for you. Be loyal, be simple, be humble. Hide your virtue. Live silently."
Q.: "So many saints and mystics lived and died. They did not change my world."

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "I got involved in spirituality, in the business of spirituality, [but] finally I lost that love of the Self also. I have no more love for the Self."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "Do your normal duties" and "just give up spirituality."
The end game? Abiding naturally, not unnaturally and not supernaturally (that is, spiritually or religiously or in any other manner that is driven by magical thinking and learned ignorance and programming and conditioning and domestication and indoctrination and acculturation and brainwashing).

1. disharmony – an inner, dualistic sense of feeling “torn” or “ill at ease” – a feeling which is driven by a three-way body and “mind” and personality conflict;
2. chaos;
3. instability (as in, “a dual-minded person will be unstable in all ways”).
Again . . .
1. disharmony – an inner, dualistic sense of feeling “torn” or “ill at ease” – that is driven by a body and “mind” and personality conflict;
2. chaos;
3. instability (as in, “a dual-minded person shall be unstable in all ways”).
M.: "How could they? Your world is not theirs, nor is theirs yours."

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: The summative statement of non-duality
(“I AM THAT; I AM”)
could also be stated as
Reality; reality
(that is, Reality alongside things “relative” that are real but that are not as they appear to be).
The concept that “nothing is real” is based in ignorance; the pointer that “what is ‘real’ is not as it is perceived to be” is valid (“real” in that case referring to all involved with the relative).
The example offered here is a brick wall. Don’t think it’s real? Put your back to the wall, walk off fifteen paces, turn to face the wall, lower the upper torso until it is parallel with the ground, then race full speed ahead and crash your head into the wall. After you regain consciousness some time after impact, reconsider. Was the wall real? Yes. Are the bricks that have come together temporarily to form the wall real? Yes. Are the bricks and the wall what they appear to be? No.
Under an electron microscope, the brick are seen to be a swirling mass of subatomic particles. Same with the elemental plant food body; the same with a wooden table (which is, more accurately as Dennis states, “tably wood”); the same with a tree; the same with desky wood; the same with housey wood; and the same with shoey wood in rural parts of The Netherlands.
All on the planet is one thing at its core and only appears to look like different things because of the variance in the vibrational frequencies of the not-visible-to-the-naked-eye energy-matter at play.
And so it is with personalities, with the assigned or assumed roles or identities or personas or characters or guises or facades or fronts or faces, etc.
Next, for every assigned and / or assumed identity, there is a payoff and there is a price. Ultimately, the payoff is never real but is only perceived; the price, ultimately, can be quite real - at least in terms of the realities of the relative existence.
As an example, consider one of the newest institutions – in terms of the total human experience - that persons have dreamed up: marriage. The fact that a 50-60% divorce rate is typical nowadays has garnered much attention and analysis and discussion by religious persons, by politicians, by sociologists, by psychologists, etc. Hundreds of theories have been set forth from such analysts, and their opinions vary widely (depending on their own personal agendas).
Yet they all miss the mark. The actual cause of divorce is . . . marriage.
Why? Because it is a concept that is inundated with misperception, especially the misperception around “Magic Marriage Math” as symbolized in some cultures with the ceremonial “Unity Candle.”
Mounted on a stand with a three-part candleholder, the larger unity candle is at the center with two lit candles burning on either side. At some point in the ceremony, "The Bride" and "The Groom” (note the assumed roles) are instructed to approach the stand, to each take one of the smaller candle in hand, to join their flames at the wick of the larger candle, and – once it is lit – blown out the flame on the smaller candles.
And with that “poof” goes their former identities and with the burning unity candle comes their new identities of “The Wife” and “The Husband” as one; hence, the magic math whereby “2” becomes “1” and both now “own” something new, namely, “MY Husband” and “MY Wife,” and what might have been perceived to be okay for "A Friend" is no longer acceptable for “MY Spouse." New expectations are born with newly-assumed identities.
Maharaj, therefore, identified the "relationship" continuum as a mental shift through many assigned and assumed personas:
Stranger to Acquaintance to Friend to Girl or Boyfriend to Partner or Significant Other to Fiancé / Fiancée to Spouse to Life Partner to “The Super Spouse” to “The Super Spouse Who Comes To Believe That She Or He Is Not With A Super Spouse” to Combatant to Enemy to Mortal Enemy to Divorcé / Divorcée to The Miserable and Suffering One.
The perceived “payoff” early on becomes a heavy price later on for 50-60% of those whose dreams and wishes and desires end up being dashed.
And so it is with those on “the path” who reach the third step (or whose parents placed them at the third step early on): there is a perceived payoff for being super religious or super spiritual. Yet the toll (as has been shown via the woman being discussed in this desires) can be huge – relatively speaking.
You see, it does not matter here if that woman, or any man or woman, ever engages in sexual relations or not, but the fact that she has reported that she "wants to have sex" but has “sacrificed the relations that she desires for the sake of being pure and spiritual” in order to receive an eternal payoff is only pure to the degree that it is based in pure nonsense.
It does not matter here if that woman, or any man or woman, ever follows the specific food plan that is required for one's particular metabolic body type or not, but to adhere to “food laws” and “food rules” because one is trapped in her or his magical thinking is, again, pure nonsense. And Maharaj pointed that out to many, including those who attacked him for allowing his children to consume meat. So what would he say to the woman being discussed in this series if she were willing to listen (which she is not)?
What advice would Maharaj offer to the woman who believes that she is “living spiritually” and “living the right way”? The same advice he offered – especially in his later teachings - to all of those types who came his way.
[The following is an excerpt from the eBook below entitled QUOTATIONS AND POINTERS dealing with NON-DUALITY, ADVAITA, NISARGA YOGA and more]
For those who are willing to consider Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj's later teachings on the subject of spirituality, he offered during his last years a reassessment of the bhakti-influenced talks in "I AM THAT" by saying:
"That book and whatever was expounded at that time was only relevant for that period. I am speaking differently today, emphasizing different aspects." What he offered later differed considerably from much of the content of his earlier talks, making clear that the pointers in "I AM THAT" will take you to the midpoint of "the path" but that his final talks point the way to the actual end of "the path."
Thus, his preferred teaching method and his preferred yoga varied over the decades as his focus shifted from an assorted combination of guru-bhakti yoga to bhakti yoga to jnana yoga to nisarga yoga. In the end, the earlier shades of nisarga yoga began to blossom fully and singularly, and he became more direct and less concerned with bhakti yoga's religious and spiritual influences and more focused on inviting seekers to abide naturally rather than supernaturally / spiritually.
His pointers in this chapter are likely only for those that are willing to consider what he meant when he said "I am speaking differently today" and are only for seekers that are interested in understanding those "different aspects" as he offered pointers that could free seekers who were fixated at the midpoint of the "journey" and allow them to move on to the end of "the path."
The following quotes / pointers invited visitors to move beyond the third step of seven steps on "the path," to abandon all roles - including religious and / or spiritual roles - and to complete the "journey" to Full Realization and to abide naturally.]
How different the relative existence of the woman being discussed in this series would have been if she had understood the pointers below and then transitioned beyond the third step where she assumed the roles of “The Super Religious One” and “The Spiritual Giant” and then fixated at that point rather than moving on to the freedom of the fourth step manner of abidance where no beliefs and no minds exist.
If only she had understood the following:
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "From my angle, you are nothing. You have no identity.”
Questioner: "The scriptures say that we have our karma and our sins and that is why we are here."
Maharaj: "That is for the ignorant masses. One who has realized the Self-Knowledge 'I Am', for him these stories are of no use."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "Forget spirituality."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: Follow your "normal inclinations" (rather than your abnormal, "religious and / or spiritual" inclinations).
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "Just give up spirituality."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "I do not follow the spirituality of the masses."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "Whatever spiritual things you aspire to know are all happening in this objective world, in the illusion. All this is happening in the objective world. All is dishonesty. There is no truth in this fraud."
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "I am not addicted to self-descriptions [such as] 'soham' and [such as] 'brahmasmi'."
[Note: "Soham" means, "I myself" or "It is I" or "He is I". "Brahmasmi" means, "I am Brahman" or "I am the Supreme" or "I am God" or "I am the Infinite Supreme Soul" or "I am part of the Brahman" - that being an implication of duality in itself.]
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: "Subsequent to that 'I Am' and body-mind, and in the realm of the mind, there occurs what you call 'spiritual seeking', or 'spiritual knowledge'. This is nonsense."
Yes, nonsense.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
[Many who have received free copies of books have asked that their thanks be passed along to Andy Gugar, Jr. for making them available. So far, his willingness to cover the cost of making free eBooks and some books available has amounted to nearly $5,200.00 worth of books having being distributed without charge so far. So, thanks to Andy.]
To continue with the series:
Let all visitors be reminded that
(1) not one, single thing is being said personally about the woman whose thoughts and words and self-destructive actions and self-punishing behaviors (relatively speaking, of course) are being discussed in this series. There is nothing personal involved except for the false, personal identities that she has assumed and that have been driving her for decades to behave insanely and ignorantly as she tries to live unnaturally and supernaturally (a.k.a., "spiritually") rather than naturally and logically and reasonably;
(2) recall too that the woman is highly intelligent and extremely knowledgeable, neither of which is required for Realization and both of which - more often than not – prove to be hindrances rather than assets for those that would move along the entire “path,” as has proven to be the case with her; and
(3) seeing the effects of the supernatural and unnatural course that she is following can show the wisdom of Maharaj’s counsel to all (and that would most definitely be germane advice for her): "Forget spirituality" and follow your "normal inclination" and “Just give up spirituality" and then abide naturally.
Consider this additional irony regarding the woman who is representative of so many who have fixated at the third of seven steps on the “path”: non-duality invites all to transition beyond body-mind-personality identification, yet note that – in additional to adopting the personality / persona of “The Spiritual Giant” - her mind has also been convinced her that the body must be the focal point in her quest for dissolution, for avoiding “rebirth,” and for attaining eternal bliss.
So her beliefs convince her that
(a) she can only put certain things in the body, ignoring what her specific metabolic body type requires for efficient organ functioning;
(b) and have convinced her that she cannot have sex with the body;
(c) and have convinced her that she is keeping the body “pure” (as if it is not quite sewer-like inside with all the contaminates that exist even among the most “conscientious” followers of food laws);
(d) and have inspired her to say to the doctor who was recently treating her in the emergency room for the damage she has done to her heart muscles with her “spiritual diet”: “I should not be here! I’m a vegetarian! My body is pure!”;
(e) and have convinced her to ignore the message behind his reply: “That might be the case, but your body is functioning in a way that we typically only see in people who are twenty years older than you.”
Body. Body. Body. Mind. Mind. Mind. Personality. Personality. Personality. Beliefs. Beliefs. Beliefs.
If you looked at the video offered in the previous post, you saw a 15-month-old girl enjoying the blissful ecstasy of playing in the rain for the first time. To look at her - and then to look at the thoughts and actions of the woman being discussed here - one can see the following:
In one instance, there is a woman who – as a result of self-destructive programming and self-destructive thoughts and self-destructive beliefs - is welcoming misery and suffering and pain and mistaking those as the essentials that will be the means to a “later,” desirable “end.”
In the next instance, there is a 180-degree contrast offered by a 15-month-old that has no thoughts and no-beliefs and is, therefore, able to experience the unbridled pleasure that she is enjoying NOW as a result of being free of programming (at least free for now and for a few more months) and as a result of having no dualistic beliefs such as that presented by the weatherman here who said, “Sorry, folks, but you’re going to need to take along an umbrella because it’s going to be a horrible day all day today with pouring rain lasting until this evening.”
Now, with “pleasure” having been mentioned, a clarification is called for. To be involved with the beingness, totally, is natural; to be focused on the THATNESS is a unique-to-humans preoccupation and even, with many, a concern . . . a worry . . . an apprehension. And to be unable to distinguish between enjoying natural pleasures vs. being trapped in the pleasure-pain / pain-pleasure conundrum that Maharaj warned against is another part of the understanding.
Here, natural pleasures are enjoyed. Unnatural pleasures are not, for those are the ones that lead to the relative situations which, Maharaj made clear, will be avoided if sanity and logic and reason prevail. So, again, there is another of what seems to be one of many non-dual contradictions which are really just paradoxes that are understood totally by the Realized.
To be focused on the THATNESS is unnatural, supernatural, magical, and delusional. Nothing about THAT can be impacted upon or influenced by any human, and nothing about THAT will ever be experienced by a human or post-manifestation human-like form or ghost or soul or essence or spirit or psyche or individual.
Maharaj recommended that seekers question everything, advising that they have faith in nothing that they are told or that they read. He recommended that they tap into the inner guru and find what would be understood were it not for the blockages that have results from programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, brainwashing, and indoctrination.
A captioned picture from a debate on last Tuesday between creationist Ken Ham (who claims that “the word of God in the Bible proves that the earth is only 6000 years old”) and scientist Bill Nye (who shared the facts that support the validity of the scientific principle called “evolution”) makes clear the difference in the way that dualists and non-dualists function:
Maharaj said that, someday, awareness of scientific facts and principles will confirm all of the non-dual teachings, so it is the case that wise non-dualists will study facts and evidence (and thereby have the opportunity to see clearly); dualists, by contrast, reject facts and evidence and endorse “blind faith” (which prevents all clear seeing).
Tomorrow: More examples of the teachings of Maharaj that he would offer to the woman who believes that she is “living spiritually” and “living the right way.” (Tongue in cheek, he might even tell her that she is not "living spiritually" but is actually "dying spiritually.")
To be continued.

Therefore, another movement or shift is happening here spontaneously after reflecting on the more than two decades since the teachings were first offered here and looking at the results of Maharaj sharing pointers in his loft and looking at the results of "Floyd" sharing pointers in this electronic loft: Looking objectively at his results, Maharaj's satsang method of sharing - in the end and by his own admission (only "one out of 10,000,000") - did not produce the intended outcome.

rather than inviting seekers to learn more, the invitation here is to unlearn all; rather than offerings teachings, what is offered are unteachings; rather than offering to provide seekers more of anything, seekers will find that the process will take away everything. And via that process, the bliss of Your Original Nature will manifest and remain until mahasamadhi is taken.
To that end, the content of this book will seem radical to the seekers of more, but for those truly ready to be totally free and totally independent - and for those who are truly ready to abandon efforts to accumulate and to de-accumulate instead - the pointers in this book might be relevant.]

F.: [From the previous posting]
In the case being discussed here, the woman believes that all things to do with the beingness are bad and that all things to be with the THATNESS are good . . . even holy . . . even divine . . . even celestial.
So, she (a) spurns all of the things that her elemental plant food body’s metabolic type requires and that would be natural for her, including enjoyable meals, sex, etc. and she (b) prefers all things thought to be “supernatural” (meaning, actually, imagined and unnatural).
By contrast, deer are only involved with the beingness, totally, and with the THATNESS . . . not at all;
fish are only involved with the beingness, totally, and with the THATNESS . . . not at all;
birds are only involved with the beingness, totally, and with the THATNESS . . . not at all;
and
the other 8.7 billion species or life forms on earth are only involved with the beingness, totally, and with the THATNESS . . . not at all;
therefore, that involvement with the beingness, totally, and with the THATNESS . . . not at all is the case with all species – with all life forms on planet earth – except for humans.
So the example offered shows a woman who has expressed frustration over not being in a "relationship"; has expressed that she has given up sex for twenty years in order to remain “pure” and “on the right path” to nirvana;
has been convinced by the members of “her group” that she has been born many times, has died many times, has been born again many times, has lived many lives, and has finally reached the point where she can transition, can undergo the dissolution, and can reach nirvana;
has followed a food plan assigned by amateurs - by spiritual giant role players - that she has been told by professionals for twenty years is not the proper plan for her body type; is suffering depression as a result of all of that; has been on a self-destructive path – relatively speaking;
has, because of all of that, forfeited bliss NOW for an imaginary, fictional bliss that awaits in the future; has allowed herself to be convinced that misery and suffering now are a normal part of the quest she’s involved in; and is convinced that sacrificing now is a requirement for reward later.
The result is that she has fallen into the very trap that Henry David Thoreau took deliberate action to avoid:
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
“ … and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
THAT is what the relative existence looks like when one fixates at the third of seven steps on the seven-step “path.” Yes, the religious and spiritual identities must usually be assumed for a time and those roles must be played for a time, but fixating in those roles will trap one at a point that is less than half way to actual Realization; they are not at the end point though they are convinced that they are.
Yet as discussed in detail in the book below entitled THE RELATIVE RESULTS OF RETURNING TO "THE CHILD IGNORANCE STAGE" OR "THE CHILD NO-KNOWING STATE," if one were only to reach the fourth step, then bliss could come.
So, one female in this post can represent all males and females who come to “die” and discover – at least in a few cases maybe - that they “had not lived.” That happens when persons assume false roles dealing with religion or spirituality and never complete the entire journey.”
Maharaj said that they are stuck in their “kindergarten-level spirituality” and erroneously believe that they are being bathed in the full light of the noonday sun when they have not even really moved beyond the dull light of dawn. He said that it could be enough to know what one is not, even if one never finds what one is.
In contrast to the female being used as an example in this post of what it can be like to be trapped at the third step, a video recently began circulating on the web of another female who illustrates exactly what one’s existence is like if he or she
(a) is still at the fourth step on the “coming in” route and has not yet been programmed or conditioned or acculturated or indoctrinated or domesticated or brainwashed into believing that she or he is religious or spiritual and has not, therefore, entered into the game-playing and role-playing of Step Three;
or, who illustrates exactly what one’s existence could be like if she or he is an adult but
(b) becomes free of the effects of programming or conditioning or indoctrination or domestication or brainwashing; abandons the religious or spiritual roles that were assigned or assumed; stops the game-playing and role-playing of Step Three; and moves to the Fourth Step.
This is the young girl who is showing what the relative existence can be like if abiding in the manner that happens at the Fourth Step:

2. How do I want the remainder of the relative existence to unfold?
3. Am I willing Realize Fully; to overlay Reality on the relative; to reach the no-beliefs, no ideas, no concepts, no roles, non-dual state; and to abide in that condition for the remainder of the relative existence and enjoy all that a sane and logical relative existence can offer?

SHIFTING THE FOCUS FROM THAT WHICH DOES NOT WORK TO THAT WHICH DOES, Part One
A "movement" or "shift" happened here that added another parallel to the many parallels in terms of the phenomenal "experiences" and the noumenal revelations that "Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj" and "Floyd" share in common. (Many visitors over the years have said that they also shared the same parallels with "Maharaj" and "Floyd" as well.)
In the case of "Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj" and "Floyd":
1. both grew up in very poor families 2. both moved to populated areas to seek employment opportunities 3. both exhibited business skills that led to their opening and operating many businesses and to their having a large number of employees working for them 4. both succeeded financially 5. both became attached to accumulating; 6. both married and had a family 7. both were initially religious 8. both moved away from organized religion and became interested in "spiritual" matters, finding and following the teachings of a big name teacher (or, in "Floyd's" case, many big name teachers) 9. both had highly religious wives who were quite displeased with the shift away from religion and toward "spirituality" 10. both began to feel empty in spite of all of their "spiritual seeking" and in spite of all of their accumulated "spiritual knowledge";

11. both began to de-accumulate after both saw that they could survive quite well on a fraction of the income they had been making
12. both had wives who were unhappy when the de-accumulation stage was entered and both had wives who became unhappy about their husbands' focus on non-duality and who blamed their unhappiness on no longer having a religious husband
(The facts be known, in both cases the unhappiness involved the fact that their husbands were no longer interested in - or willing - to work 80+ hours per week and that their husbands were no longer interested in accumulating wealth and possessions and providing the rich lifestyle to which their wives had grown accustomed)
13. both eventually came to see that the religious and spiritual states were also ego-states, and both saw that there are far more steps on the "path" to complete after reaching the religious and spiritual steps and after playing those roles which are the third of seven steps on the entire "path" 14. both "lost" their wives (one via "death," the other through divorce); 15. both accelerated their seeking; 16. both entered into the "forest dweller stage" 17. both Realized 18. both began to de-accumulate even more
19. both began sharing the teachings 20. for years, both answered questions in whatever order those questions were received, though both said that the movement from identification with the false "I" / "I's" involved an exact, step-wise manner of moving along a "path" that involved "going back" in the same (but reverse order) of the way they "came in" - that is, the way that the manifestation happened and the way that the consciousness was blocked through seven stages that resulted in their becoming identified solely with their false personas, with the content of the "mind," and eventually, with the body. But the most significant awareness that finally came to both after years of offering satsang and after having answered thousands and thousands of questions was this: After years of "Maharaj" offering satsang in his loft, and after years of "Floyd" offering satsang in meeting halls and in his home and via what one site visitor called "Floyd's electronic loft," this fact became obvious to both: "Maharaj" came to see in the 1970's and into 1980 and 1981 that his approach was not working and "Floyd" finally came to see the same.

21. Both saw that many who heard the teachings are not going to understand (Maharaj reporting that "only 1 in 100,000 are going to 'get' this" understanding)
22. both soon saw that even more than expected of those who heard the teachings were not going to understand (Maharaj modifying his "guesstimate" and reporting that "only 1 in 1,000,000 are going to 'get' this" understanding)
23. eventually both saw that even far more than expected of those who heard the teachings were not going to understand (Maharaj eventually concluding that "only 1 in 10,000,000 are going to 'get' this" understanding). And the failings were not the fault of seekers.
A "one -in-ten-million" estimate is proof that satsang was not working for most seekers, and the evidence here lately is proof of the same.
Both "Maharaj" and "Floyd" invited seekers to focus on the exact, step-wise "path." Yes, during satsang, "Maharaj" sometimes alluded to the steps while discussing them in no particular order - but he never once laid out the steps in the exact order in which they had to be completed. That was not his teachings style or approach.
Looking objectively at the results here when using an "electronic loft" satsang method of sharing has not produced the intended outcome nearly as often as any of the three "face-to-face" methods used with seekers by which they have been led through the seven steps in order.
Here, the body is growing older, of course. Mahasamadhi could be taken today, or it could be taken in twenty years.
Obviously, that cannot be known. But the decision here has been made that whatever amount of the relative existence remains shall be spent in sharing the teachings in the ways that have been seen over the last 20+ years to be the most effective methods.
Looking back over the list of those that have truly received the understanding, it is seen that Robert R. read all of the books, then took the online Advaita course and then completed some face-to-face Skype sessions to receive the final clarifications required. It was seen that Mac read all of the books, completed the online course, and then attended a retreat where he was guided through the seven steps. Mac said that the online course work inspired him to attend the retreat in order to be able to receive the final "pieces." It was seen that Andy Gugar, Jr. read all of the books, then came here for a retreat and was taken through the seven steps in order, and then returned once more for the final clarifications required. After reviewing the shifts that happened with him after attending two retreats, he reaffirmed this past week his commitment to helping spread the non-duality, nisarga understanding as presented here. As a result of seeing what has "worked" during the last 20+ years of sharing the non-duality understanding - and seeing what had not "worked" as well - changes will be made.

SHIFTING THE FOCUS FROM THAT WHICH DOES NOT WORK TO THAT WHICH DOES, Part Two
In "Part One," examples were given of seekers that were led to Realization not by satsang but by following the various protocols outlined farther down this page which provide the understanding in the step-wise, orderly, required fashion which moves seekers along a "path" that is as prescribed by Maharaj ... "going back" in the "reverse order" by which the consciousness manifested and became blocked.
However, conversations with some that just read the majority of the books have revealed that they certainly seem to have grasped the understanding and Realized as well.
As a result of seeing what has "worked" during the last 20+ years of sharing the non-duality understanding - and seeing what has "not worked" as well - changes are being made.
There are seven specific steps that happen when awareness-energy is "pulled" into a cycle of manifestation. When that energy manifests as conscious-energy, that formerly pure and unadulterated energy becomes "corrupted" (or "blocked" from seeing clearly) via programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, and brainwashing. Soon, there is a belief in the not-Real as a result of seven degrees of separation from an understanding of the Real.
Using the method that was also employed by his contemporaries - a method which focused on offering non-duality pointers via satsang - Maharaj addressed questions in the order in which they were received. He might receive a question from a seeker at the third step and his reply would include what amounted to an invitation to move to the fourth step. The next question might come from a seeker at the first step, and the reply would include an invitation to move to the second step.
The information offered to the second seeker would seemingly contradict what was offered to the first seeker, so visitors who have come here for decades have asked questions which showed how confused they were by the fact that Maharaj's statements to each visitor in his loft were "level-appropriate" yet were provided in no precise order, resulting in what seemed to be an inconsistent message.
So the process overall was confusing in that
seekers were told to follow the "path back" in the same way that they "came in," except in reverse order,
but
pointers were not given in a specific, step-wise order at all.
Maharaj did recognize the seven steps that are taught here, but by offering the teachings in an order that was dictated by the order in which questions were received from seekers who were at different steps on the "path," the result was this:
a pointer about moving beyond the fourth step might be followed by a pointer about moving beyond the first step, and that pointer might be followed by a pointer about how to move beyond the sixth step.
The same was done on this site for seven years. The result is a collection of 1,800 or so essays discussing almost every non-duality topic that can be discussed, and the search button on the top right side of this page will now allow seekers with a question about a specific topic to find an explanation. That method, however, will never provide the manner in which the seven steps on the "path" must be transmitted and received in order to Realize Fully.
An objective study of the history here of more than twenty years of offering non-duality pointers reveals this: seekers that were given pointers in the exact order in which they needed to receive them were the ones that Realized.
They read the books, then they completed the online course and / or completed seven Skype or telephone sessions or came here for a retreat (or watched the downloadable DVD version of an actual retreat, available below).
Some found that which they were seeking by reading the author's book that deal with non-duality subject matter. Via all of those venues, the steps are taught in their proper order.
The essays available on this site will remain for those interested in searching for a discussion of a particular non-duality topic without charge, but the focus here until mahasamadhi is taken is going to be on offering the teachings in the step-wise fashion that has been seen to work.

[Please note: When the Direct Path Teaching Method is offered in conjunction with the Nisarga Yoga, something unique results when compared to what happens via the approach used by religions, spiritual movements, philosophies, ideologies, etc.:
rather than inviting seekers to learn more, the invitation here is to unlearn all; rather than offerings teachings, what is offered are unteachings; rather than offering to provide seekers more of anything, seekers will find that the process will take away everything.
