A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: To continue with a sharing of some excerpts from the eBook below entitled THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS “PEACE OF MIND”(There is Only Peace if You’re Out of Your Mind)

It is emphasized again that

(1) it’s all energy at the core, that

(2) nowadays natural living can only happen under the auspices of the brain and never while under the influence of the corrupted "mind," and that

(3) all learned ignorance—stored as a “mind”—must be tossed if peace is to happen.

Note how each step in the following analysis moves from something wrongly-perceived (such as "a human body") down to the most basic “ingredient” of the universe that is common to all in the universe. (Call it "strings," call it "that," call it "sparticles," or point toward it with any term you choose, but there is that single, most basic "whatever" that all is. Ultimately, all is energy-matter, and neither energy nor matter can be created  nor destroyed. Everything is just a variation of one type of energy or another, conscious-energy being only one variety. Differences in appearance are caused by nothing more than a variance of the vibrational rate at which "that" moves when manifested.) Here’s how it works:

1. A human’s body mass is mostly water. Carbon, the basic unit of organic molecules, is the second most common element.

2. A “molecule” is a group of atoms in a definite arrangement held together by chemical bonds.

3. At the core of the sun, four hydrogen nuclei fuse together to form one helium nucleus, and that happens over and over. The part of the energy that process releases as light travels in particle and wave form. Plant photosynthesis sets the stage for another cycling of manifested energy-consciousness.

So far, all is totally natural.

4. Likewise, the energy drawn into a cycle from the Absolute pool manifests in plants after it “travels” in a particle or wave form; humans consume the plants (or consume the animals that ate the plants), triggering a “transfer” of energy; multi-part atoms of energy are at the core of organic molecules, and organic molecules are at the core of the human body. Everything that is considered “body” can be traced back to its most basic ingredient and that ingredient can be seen to be a temporary manifestation of energy from that field of energy called the Absolute. Again, all involved so far happens naturally and spontaneously (so that is what your original nature is like).

What does that have to do with clarifying the role of the brain, the “mind,” and the consciousness in the Teachings? Recall the earlier pointer: “Consciousness is rooted in the Absolute. The brain is rooted in the elements. The ‘mind’ is rooted in wrong programming and faulty conditioning and lies and concepts and ideas and superstitions and falsehoods.”

THE CONSCIOUSNESS:

The conscious-energy, temporarily manifested, is “real” to the degree that it is a form of energy with specific levels of functioning that can be measured. (Why “real” in quotes? Because even this manifested consciousness is time-bound, a temporary expression of that which is truly and eternally real.) Among the triad of elements-breath-consciousness which sustains “life,” the manifest consciousness is required. The energy cannot be destroyed. It is and will be. Again, all natural, so far.

THE BRAIN:

The science above shows that the brain, at its most basic level, is elemental and that conscious-energy is temporarily manifested via those elements; therefore, it is “real” to the degree that all is energy. (This differs not at all from what is revealed about a steel beam if it is studied under an electron microscope: what is not real is the beam as it appears; what is real is that swirling mass of energy that is not visible to the naked eye. Such is the case with the body and with parts such as the brain.) Among the triad of elements-breath-consciousness that sustains “life,” the elemental brain is required, the modern use of resuscitating equipment to sustain a body notwithstanding. The elements cannot be destroyed. They will be. Still, all discussed so far was totally natural, but that would change after the human brain evolved to 6-and-1/2 times its original size, allowing for a similar expansion of the area of the brain (the "mind" part) which stores and retrieves information. Once the information stored in “the mind” shifted from a minimal quantity of facts which could be used to assure the survival of the species to a maximum overload of fiction involving false ideas, concepts, views, etc. (a.k.a., “beliefs” rather than facts) then the stage was set humankind’s levels of ignorance and insanity to expand geometrically. That expansion is still continuing, and it is happening on a larger scale and at a faster rate than ever before. So much for what had been an all-natural process. That ended with the development of the expanded mind.

THE “MIND”:

The “mind” is neither elemental nor energy, so it is not real and it will fade away. It is nothing more than a conglomeration of images and memories which are not real, which are fictional, and which are misperceptions. Because the mind is false and is not “real,” it can be purged.

Pluck out your brain: end of manifestation. Take steps to end the manifest consciousness: end of manifestation. Purge the mind: not the end of the manifestation.

(Because the mind is only temporary, an Advaitin said, “Heaven and earth shall fade away.” Meaning? Just as with all images, when the consciousness fades away, so shall the misconceived images stored in the brain. One could as easily say to the ex-husband mourning the loss of his imagined role, “Your wife and family shall fade away someday.” They are just misperceived images in the “mind,” and those wrongly-perceived images will not last. When "he" "dies," "she" "dies.")

Among the triad of elements-breath-consciousness which sustain “life,” the “mind” is not included. It has been shown why “the mind” happened: there was originally a natural part that it was to play in the process of natural living. That is no longer happening.

Maharaj revealed much about that fictional conglomeration called "the mind" and about its false character. He pointed out that awareness is the source of (but different from) the personal, individualized consciousness which manifests via the nervous system of an elemental body and which becomes corrupted.

The “mind” and memory, he said, are responsible for association with a particular body; awareness (that pool of energy which has the ability to be "aware of" if pulled into a cycle of manifestation) exists prior to both mind and memory. He said that "this world" (which is known to be an illusion) is nothing more than a collection of memories. The collection differs in the mind of every individual, so there are as many imaginary worlds as there are persons. "The world" for each is "in them," in their "minds."

He spoke of memories as being time-bound and transient, so they cannot be real. He made the point that only that which is free of memories is timeless and therefore real. He said that desires and fears are based in the memory and that the root of desires and fears are the expectations that are born of memory. Persona / personality is just a shadow of the mind, he said, and the mind he identified as nothing more than “the sum total of memories.”

Imagination based on memories is unreal. He said the understanding of that could free persons of the trap of memory. The light of consciousness passes through the film of memory and throws pictures on your brain, he said. Thus, because of the chaotic and distorted state of that part of the brain where memories are stored, what most perceive is distorted and colored by feelings of "like" and "dislike."

The result: a tiny fraction of humans ever Realize (that is, realize the truth, realize their learned ignorance and reject it, realize their insanity and become free of it). For the other 99.9%, all among the non-Realized masses, they cannot even differentiate between what is true from what is false. That which they believe and value the most is the most false and worthless of all.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: Today, a pause to review and to offer a few additional considerations, using more excerpts from the eBook below entitled THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS “PEACE OF MIND”(There is Only Peace if You’re Out of Your Mind):

1. The brain (which was intended by nature to function in a “sustain and preserve” capacity) has now been overridden by the “mind” (which is bent toward chaos, destruction, and self-destruction).

2. The parts of the brain that store and retrieve memories are overshadowing and overpowering all of the rest of the brain in determining how persons think and talk and emote and behave.

3. Historically, humankind in general attempted to take all necessary action to survive. That has changed. Today, honor is bestowed by some on those who brag, "I'm willing to die for my country." Today, some other persons are willing to strap on a dynamite vest and blow up their own bodies and the bodies of those whom they dualistically view as “others” simply because those “others” have different beliefs stored in their “minds.”

4. The brain would say, “This is stupid. Do not do that.” The dualistic beliefs that make up the “mind” say, “Do it anyway. They are different, so they deserve to die.”

5. Indeed, whether authority and power are being abused by a black-robe-wearing leader of ISIS / ISIS / IS or by a uniform-wearing members of “the powers that be” in the U.S., the willingness of “the ones in authority” and the willingness of “those in power” to kill “others who are different” is running rampant all around the globe, increasing in direct correlation to the rampant expansion of dualistic thinking and dualistic beliefs about being “different from” and “better than.” Yet in the U.S., the black-robed abuser of power above is hated while the uniformed abusers of power are lauded (in fact, darn near worshipped) by those trapped in fear who believe that their "tenuous safety" is only being secured moment to moment by those authorities who are "holding back the criminal element that would otherwise be coming for the citizenry at large."

6. Supernatural (i.e., religious or spiritual) thinking has perverted the “mind’s” original role and has produced more dualistic concepts than any other single source. That single source, in turn, has resulted in more "relative existence human deaths" than all other causes combined (after natural causes).

7. When such pointers are offered, volumes of mail typically arrive, asking, “Do you hate religions and spiritual movements?” The response is, “What WHO could be present to hate anything?”

8. If the bag containing your household garbage for several days is finally discarded, are you discarding it because you hate it? Or is it just the sane thing to do? As the garbage is sitting there, are you hating it? No.

9. If your neighbors have not taken out their garbage and really want to hang onto their garbage for a few more days, or even forever, do you hate them for clinging to their trash? Of course not.

10. As you are taking the garbage out to the collection site, are you resenting the garbage? No. You are not giving it a single thought. You realize that there is nothing of value which is being cast aside but that it is, instead, just garbage.

11. The tossing of the trash happens without emotion or attachment if enough wisdom manifests for one to be able to look objectively at the garbage that has been accumulated and to see clearly that it is garbage. And if a roommate or spouse or guru or sharer of non-dual pointers says, “This trash has been here too long. It’s having a negative impact our lives / your lives, so would you throw it away, please?” would you then ask angrily, “Why do you hate the garbage so much? Why do you suggest I get rid of it? I was taught to love the garbage. I am even willing to fight to preserve the garbage. What is wrong with you that you do not love the garbage?”

12. (Actually, the garbage might have served "some purpose" for a time, but it cannot serve a purpose for all time. There comes a point in the history of all garbage when the sane thing to do is to cast it aside and move on. Today, most garbage is stored in that part of the brain called the "mind." It's time to discard the garbage. Will that happen? Only among a very small percentage of the earth's population. So it is.)

13. Ah, but one who has not developed enough wisdom to even see that garbage is garbage, or that one’s grandparents’ beliefs and one’s parents’ beliefs and now one’s own beliefs are total nonsense – total garbage – then they will not only refuse to toss out their garbage but will actually ennoble it . . . even love it . . . and even be willing to fight with those who do not value the garbage in the same fashion.

14. And the fighting over whether one’s garbage (mind content / beliefs) should be respected or not will happen with flat mates and house mates; with a friend or lover or spouse; with a member of a different religion or a member of a different sect; with a member of a different race; with someone of a different sexual orientation; with the heads of various nations; ad infinitum.

15. All of the accompanying misery is rooted in mind-full-ness. Only mindlessness can facilitate the manifestation of freedom and peace and happiness and even occasional joy and bliss. "What?! Occasional?!" Yes. Occasional.

16. The delusion of those not fully Realized? As explained in the eBook below entitled “What Bliss Is and What Bliss Is Not,” their misery-guaranteeing delusions - which are a product of their totally distorted thinking - include such childish and
naïve beliefs as:

A. “Even as the relative manifestation continues I want to be fixed in an unwavering state of bliss, and I have been promised that can happen; in fact, I deserve unwavering happiness";

or

B. “The only thing I want for my children is for them to just be happy”;

or

C. “I want to reach a point where I have enough money that I can avoid the effects of relative challenges that are always coming my way.”

17. Such mindful / mind-full nonsense would also suggest that one who likes ice cream can – and should – be able to eat it uninterruptedly, 24 / 7; that a sex addict can – and should – be able to experience the ecstasy of orgasms uninterruptedly, 24 / 7; or that “the Realized one” should be able to be totally free of anything and everything involving the AM-ness.

18. What age-level would be most likely to have such naïve desires or expectations as those in “A” through “C” above? Somewhere around five or six? Exactly, because those concepts are rooted in the agenda of certain personalities, because all desires are personality-driven, and because one’s primary personality type is usually set in stone by the age of six or shortly after. No matter the age of any plant food body - be it 40 or 50 or 60 - if personality is driving thoughts and words and actions, then the thoughts and words and actions will be those that are typical of an immature child.

19. To witness objectively and impartially whatever comes is not to love everything that comes; nor is it to hate whatever comes; nor is necessary to “Love what is”; nor is it necessary to "accept whatever is"; and neither is it necessary to spin the facts or truth about reality by using the favorite dualistic distortion which Personality Type Threes and Type Ones and Type Sevens use habitually to detach and to deny the way they that are really feeling inside, namely, the statement that “It’s all good.”

20. As long as mindfulness / mind-full-ness is present, so too shall be distortions, delusions, misrepresentations, belief in things false, and all of the misery that those bring.

To be continued.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: Yesterday, it was made clear how simple it is to be totally mindless: all that is required is to discard all of the beliefs that were taught by parents and cultures - all of whom were totally asleep and being driven and controlled by what Maharaj identified as three key symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness, namely, “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity.”

“Beliefs” is a catch-all term that includes all of the content of the mind, such as ideas, concepts, notions, views, perspectives, distortions, distorted memories, impressions, images, opinions, theories, etc. To reach a state of “zero concepts” is to reach a no-belief state, and to reach a no-belief state happens when the mind is emptied, thus restoring it to its original empty state before it was filled with nonsense via programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and brainwashing and indoctrination.

To review, the mind started out as a “friend” to humanity, but along the way, it “turned” on humanity. The result? Now, humankind has no greater foe. It is the mind (functioning nowadays in the way that a duality-driven-mind always functions and which results in persons being unstable in all ways) that now generates all other supposed "foes and adversaries and enemies and antagonists and rivals and opponents."

While most persons focus their attention on the global conflicts being reported at any given time by newscasters, persons either

(a) completely ignore

or

(b) normalize and minimize

the wars that are going on under their very roofs, in their offices, in traffic, and in stores. While most will never be affected by “foreign wars” (except by having to pay the taxes that fund such conflicts) they ignore their own private, domestic wars that are having a far greater impact on their daily lives. Wars begin and wars end, but domestic conflicts (driven by mindfulness and the hidden agendas of the mind's companions, personalities) can continue 24 / 7 . . . and can continue endlessly. And that will remain the case unless sanity (and thus freedom from distorted thinking) is restored. Only then can peace follow.

Yet it is persons' "broken thinkers" which generate one distortion after another and which blocks any effort to Realize (that is, any effort to discard nonsense and to be restored to sanity and reason).

The following is excerpted from the eBook below entitled THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS “PEACE OF MIND” (There is Only Peace if You’re Out of Your Mind):

“MIND” and MEMORIES and BELIEFS: When Nature’s “Assets” Become Warped into “Liabilities”

So, it can be seen that the term “the mind” is just a name given to a set of files. Originally those files were stored in the brain (as what would come to be called “memories” and “beliefs”) so that the file information could be retrieved if needed in order to help humans survive dangerous situations (i.e., “Remember when the fellow in the next cave thought he was picking up a stick and it was a snake. Check more carefully.”)

Those files / memories / beliefs are so contaminated with distortions, misperceptions, dogma and all other kinds of dreamed-up lies that the “mind” can no longer serve its original purpose. Where it was intended by nature to work with the rest of the brain to avoid destruction, in its present condition, the typical “mind” is generating far more destruction and chaos than survival and peace. It is one thing to remember that a snake which looks like a stick can kill you; it is something else to remember dualistic messages that include:

“We’re better than all others on the planet because we live in the greatest country on earth,” or “It’s OK to attack or kill those who have been taught the tenets of a religion that is different from your religion,” or “People with that skin color are all ignorant and criminal.”

It can be seen, therefore, that the current, distorted state of the modern “mind” came about after languages and personal agendas developed which enabled persons to begin teaching dualistic concepts. After that occurred, persons used languages to pass on as fact an entire body of false beliefs, that is, lies which were not based in actual happenings or fact at all and which generated a plethora of ideas, myths, superstitions, dogma, theories, attitudes, “spiritual knowledge,” religious “knowledge,” concepts, false identities, etc.)

It can be seen that the distortions being stored nowadays as remembered lessons / memories are not memories that can be used for survival but are corruptions that are driving conduct that is destructive, self-destructive, and detrimental to both peace and survival.

As a result of the distorted concepts / beliefs that are currently being stored in what is called the “mind,” nature’s intent has been invalidated. That original storehouse of files in the brain which was intended by nature to work with the rest of the brain to guide the body to behave in a natural fashion is now resulting in the body being guided by a warped “mind” that generates unnatural "thinking" and conduct as well as supernatural “thinking” and conduct.

Nowadays, memories are not being retrieved from the mind to avoid dangerous animals or the precarious edges of cliffs but are generating dualistic “thoughts” such as, “They are ignorant . . . we are smart”; “I am good, but they are bad”; “I deserve reward but they deserve punishment”; “I heard a God in another world tell me to drop bombs on people in this world”; “I am going to destroy you (or reject you or leave you or punish you) because you have said things and done things that are different from what I wanted you to say and do”; or, "You can't be okay, much less good . . . you're different from me."

Now, a natural mind no longer works with a natural brain to generate natural living. Instead, the content of the typical “mind” today generates a style of living that is more often unnatural (meaning characterized by delusional “thinking”) and that is very often supernatural (meaning characterized by magical “thinking”). The “thoughts” behind both of those types of “thinking” are rooted in duality, and dualistic “thinking” is at the core of anything considered a dilemma or problem or crisis in the relative existence.

Whereas the brain is “wired” for self-constructive behavior, the modern “mind” is now “wired” for self-destructive behavior because of the vast pool of learned ignorance that is being passed on to (and accepted as truth by) billions of persons, their level of education or intelligence notwithstanding.

Because behavior is now being controlled by the bogus, programmed “mind” more than the brain, the “personalized, individualized mind” is able to inspire persons to destruct and self-destruct in opposition to the self-constructive actions that a normal brain would guide an organism to take.

So a shift in what was typical and “normal” human behavior happened as the brain evolved over thousands of years: the development of the brain’s capacity to store memories, and to retrieve memories from storage, was followed by the development of language. The development of language was followed by the teaching of dualistic concepts. Those dualistic teachings have resulted in the contemporary “mind” which is nothing more than a repository of lies.

Those lies / false beliefs generate a sense of separation and the judgmental labeling of persons as “bad,” “immoral,” “wrong,” ad infinitum. Now, because of the warped, dualistic “mind,” persons truly believe that they are “bad” (or they are labeled as “bad”) if they believe in vaginal births but refuse to believe in a virginal birth.

They feel they are “bad” (or they are labeled as “bad”) if they are repelled by descriptions of a god who was a mass murderer. Now, because of the warped, dualistic “mind,” persons truly believe that they are “bad” (or they are labeled as “bad”) if they don’t care to participate in a rite of worship called “communion” that reenacts ancient rites of cannibalism and vampirism. They can feel they are “bad” (or at the very least, "not as good as") if they have not been dunked or sprinkled with water that some claim is “holy.”

Now, because of the warped, dualistic “mind,” persons truly believe that killers are “good” if they kill people whose stored files contain information that differs from the killers’ stored files. The insanity that currently dominates the planet (as a result of the warped “mind” which takes duality to be real) is pervasive, and the majority of the dualistic beliefs which have had the most vicious results have been dreamed up and passed down by members of one specific institution over the last 5000 years.

Yet the impact does not stop there, so now businesses and cultures and governments and political parties and “think tanks” and so-called “spiritual groups” and institutions of all kinds are spreading more distortions and perverted notions than imaginable even a few years ago.

Actually, “brain-washing” would be an inaccurate term if a thorough and cleansing washing were involved. “Brain-trashing” is what has been happening for many millennia, inspiring the call for a complete “brain-flush” now. Why? The institution that has been touting dual-mindedness for thousands of years has been joined by programmed parents and conditioned teachers and acculturated politicians and by various other sources in the global pursuit of training persons to accept as fact the seemingly endless supply of dualistic lies.

The concepts which need to be eliminated from the “mind” via a brain-flush should be obvious. The purging of all beliefs begins with "questioning it all" and continues with the discarding of all learned ignorance in order to then be free and then truly at peace.

That is what is required to be mind-less rather than mindful.

To be continued.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: So, if you saw yesterday what humankind was like early on during its smaller brain / smaller mind era vs. what humanity is now like during the larger brain / larger mind stage, the relevant considerations at this point include these:

In the pre-language days when brains were smaller and minds, therefore, had less storage capacity, there was far less of the mental machinations and mind contortions and chaotic rattlings and irrational clatter and psychological disturbances and noise-between-the-ears that would come later with the larger brain and with a mind that has a larger storage capacity.

There is with all humans now a three-part continuum: (1) word-thoughts generate spoken words and (2) spoken words inspire (2) whatever actions are taken.

Thoughts -->words -->actions.

During the pre-language days of humankind, there was by default an absence of words-thoughts and, as a result, there was an absence of the thousands and thousands of thoughts that are now experienced all throughout the day by modern, larger-brained, larger-mind-capacity humans. There was originally no mind, so there was neither mindfulness nor mind-full-ness. Both are totally unnatural, and nothing unnatural (and nothing supposedly "supernatural") can ever bring peace.

Early on, with less stored in "the mind part" of the brain, then there was less mental chaos and less of the chatter of a thousand monkeys which humans nowadays try (but fail) to stop and which they try (but fail) to tolerate.

Anthropologists have made clear that the earliest humans (with their comparatively small brain, originally about one cup in size) usually functioned rather naturally in a rather basic and simple and straightforward manner.

Anthropologists have also shown that, with the evolutionary process that led to a larger brain (3.5 cups in size), human functioning began to happen in a somewhat more efficient manner but also in a somewhat more complicated manner. For example, when humans were roaming about, foraging for food with no "permanent" settlements and in no fixed location with no fixed and stable shelter / housing, their existence was more simplified, though likely more tiring.

Once human brain size expanded, that allowed for an understanding of agriculture and crop growing and farming techniques, and that expansion also allowed humans to stop foraging constantly, to stop moving about so much, to stop following the migration routes of herds of animals, to set up settlements with fixed shelter / housing (or at least to arrange for more stable housing / shelter) and to remain in a fixed location. That new lifestyle might have been less tiring, but some degree of simplicity was lost as shelters required upkeep and maintenance.

Too, “losses” came as a result of floods and fires. Weather problems became a worry-generating concern as crops failed because of too much or too little rain and insect infestations. The duality of droughts and deluges would soon condition larger-brained humans to also experience larger worries and larger concerns and greater fears and anxiety, aware of “what might be coming.” Hope for a big crop gave way to the dread of losing a season’s entire crop. The roots of the modern-day, widespread insanity of duality were being laid: “good” weather vs. “bad” weather; “good” crop yields vs. "bad," low crop yields; “good times” vs. “bad times”; abundance vs. scarcity; etc.]

So the small human brain

(a) provided a smaller space for storage and retrieval and guaranteed that there would be less space for overloading a mind with far more information than was needed for survival

and

(b) made possible an existence marked by far more simplicity than when a larger brain developed and thus provided more space for storage and retrieval and more space for overloading a mind with far more than was needed for survival, resulting in an existence marked by more complexities and complications and mind-noise that is not unlike the chatter of a thousand monkeys.

The relevant fact: complexities = more difficulties and more complications.

See why Maharaj spoke of knowledge as “learned ignorance?”

“Keep it simple?” Yes. That was natural (and could be, again). Complexities and difficulties and complications are rooted in the unnatural and in the addition of concepts deemed to be supernatural / magical / spiritual.

Ever heard of “too smart for one’s own good?” Not quite accurate. What about, “Too much ‘stuff’ accumulated in a mind for one’s own good”? Definitely. “Too much learned ignorance (a.k.a., knowledge) stored in a mind for one’s own good”? Also yes.

“Too many peace-interrupting effects of programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, brainwashing, and indoctrination stored in one’s mind for one’s own good”? Absolutely.

Is it any wonder that Maharaj endorsed “pure and simple being”

Is it any wonder that Maharaj advised: “Truth is simple and open to all. Why do you complicate”

Why he declared: “My world is single and very simple”

Why a man who asked, “What am I to do?” was told by Maharaj that he should “go home, take charge of your father's business, look after your parents in their old age. Marry the girl who is waiting for you, be loyal, be simple, and be humble”

Why he explained: “The real is simple . . . . ”

and

Why he said: “I ceased having visions and trances and became very quiet and simple. I found myself desiring and knowing less and less, until I could say in utter astonishment: 'I know nothing . . . . ”

To know nothing is to believe nothing. To believe nothing is to be mindless. To be mindless is to be at peace.

Because “there is no such thing as peace of mind,” then being either mindful or mind-full is contraindicated for those who would find peace.

See? The options are either to be “mindful” and “mind-full” (and thereby suffer the misery of a relative existence that is complex and complicated and difficult) or to be “mindless” (and thereby enjoy a simple existence without constantly dealing with chaos and needless complications).

Indeed, a dual-minded person really will be unstable in all ways, but the same fate awaits every person who is "minded."

To try to address the problems generated by mindfulness by being even more mindful is like trying to cure brain cancer by injecting more cancerous cells into the brain. Totally senseless. Want what some report they are seeking, namely, "peace of mind"? Then it would be similarly senseless to add “more mind” to the mix.

Instead, discard the mind totally. How? By discarding its content totally, that is, by discarding all thoughts, ideas, concepts, notions, views, perceptions, etc. (a.k.a., “beliefs”).

To be continued.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: First, When the Mind FLIPPED and the Non-Dual Teachings Became a Necessity

and

Then, When the Mind FLIPPED OUT and Counselors and Psychologists and a Mental Health Industry Became a Necessity

There is a historical context explaining when and why the non-dual teachings came into being and why the understanding became called for on planet-wide basis among humans.

To understand the historical context, and thereby better understand what the real intent of the non-dual teachings is (and is not) and what non-dual pointers are really about (and what they are not about), consider how life evolved on planet earth; how life-forms functioned, naturally; how the human brain evolved; how the evolved brain set the stage for the development of a mind (which originally had a fraction of the storage capacity that it has nowadays and which, therefore, limited how much “stuff” could be crammed into a mind via programming, conditioning, acculturation, etc.);

how the mind drove humans to function differently – for the first time ever – from all other life-forms and in ways that have driven humanity to abandon a natural mode of abidance and to engage in unnatural, self-destructive ways; and why the teachings came about to provide a sane and sound and logical alternative which allows the Realized to – once again – abide naturally and sanely, being led by wisdom as opposed to ignorance and insanity and the brain and conscious-energy as opposed to the mind.

First, consider this timeline:

In its 4.6 billion years of circling the Sun, the Earth has harbored an increasing diversity of life-forms:

for the last 3.6 billion years, simple cells have existed;

for the last 2 billion years, complex cells have existed;

for the last 1.2 billion years, there have been life-forms which reproduce sexually;

for the last 1 billion years, multi-cell life-forms have existed;

for the last 600 million years, simple animals have existed;

for the last 550 million years, water life-forms with a front and a back have existed;

for the last 475 million years, land plants have existed;

for the last 200 million years, mammals have existed;

for the last 60 million years, primates have existed;

around 14 million years ago, orangutans diverged from the Hominidae family; thus, human-like life-forms have existed for about 14 million years because there is only a 3.1% difference which distinguishes modern humans from orangutans in the most minimal ways, genetically;

6.5 to 7 million years ago, there was the start of what can be called “the human lineage” after a split with the lineage containing chimpanzees and gorillas;

2.6 million years ago, there was the onset of large-scale use of stone tool technology by human-like beings;

2.5 million years ago, there came into being what has been called “the first human ancestors" in our own genus, Homo, so for the last 2.5 million years, the genus Homo (including our first human ancestors) have existed;

and

for the last 200,000 years, anatomically modern humans (Homo sapiens) have existed.

It has been noted that in the earliest humans, the brain was the about the size of one cup. Today it has evolved to a size that measures about 3.5 cups. Also, as noted earlier, the brain was originally a “friend” to all life-forms, including humans. That “the-brain-is-your-friend” fact still applies to all of the trillions of life-forms, including humans, but the unique problems of humanity came about as the brain evolved and allowed a large-capacity “mind” to form.

Originally, the mind was also humanity’s “friend”: it allowed for the storage and retrieval of information with the purpose of assisting humans to survive. Memories about what happened when snakes were picked up, when another human fell from a cliff, or when a human was being careless and fell and broke an arm or a hip could be recalled if similar circumstances were faced at some future point and a different course of action could be taken.

[Consider the levels of insanity, now that the mind is no longer functioning according to its original purpose because it is being filled with unnatural and supernatural / spiritual / magical thinking: nowadays, there are preachers and worshippers who are dying because they are handling snakes during worship services to prove how grand their “faith in God” is. The typical mind today is not a fact-filled file but is a nonsense-filled file, and – as with a computer - that which can be retrieved from a file in only what has been put into the file; therefore, nowadays the typical nonsense-filled mind can only generate thoughts and words and actions that are totally nonsensical. Garbage in; garbage out. That’s the “flip,” the shift, so now the typical mind has become more of an “enemy” of humanity than a “friend.”]

From the eBook below entitled THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS “PEACE OF MIND” (There is Only Peace if You’re Out of Your Mind):

Those files / memories are so contaminated with distortions, misperceptions, dogma and all other kinds of lies that the “mind” can no longer serve its original purpose. Where it was intended by nature to work with the rest of the brain to avoid destruction, in its present condition, the typical “mind” is generating more destruction and chaos than survival and peace. It is one thing to remember that a snake which looks like a stick can kill you; it is something else to remember dualistic messages that include: “We’re better than all others on the planet because we live in the greatest country on earth,” or “It’s OK to attack or kill those who have been taught the tenets of a religion that is different from your religion,” or “People with that skin color are all ignorant and criminal.”

It can be seen, therefore, that the current, distorted state of the modern “mind” came about after languages and personal agendas developed which enabled persons to begin teaching dualistic concepts. After that occurred, persons used languages to pass on as fact an entire body of lies, lies that were not based in actual happenings or fact at all (things such as beliefs, ideas, myths, superstitions, dogma, theories, attitudes, “spiritual knowledge,” religious “knowledge,” concepts, false identities, etc.) It can be seen that the distortions being stored nowadays as remembered lessons / memories are not memories that can be used for survival but are corruptions that are driving conduct that is destructive, self-destructive, and detrimental to both peace and survival.

As a result of the distorted concepts and beliefs that are currently being stored in what is called the “mind,” nature’s intent has been invalidated. That original storehouse of files in the brain which was intended by nature to work with the rest of the brain to guide the body to behave in a natural fashion, is now resulting in the body being guided by a warped “mind” that generates unnatural "thinking" and conduct and supernatural “thinking” and conduct.

Nowadays, memories are not being retrieved from the mind to avoid dangerous animals or the precarious edges of cliffs but are generating dualistic “thoughts” such as, “They are ignorant … we are smart”; “I am good, but they are bad”; “I deserve reward but they deserve punishment”; “I heard a God in another world tell me to drop bombs on people in this world”; “I am going to destroy you (or "reject you" or "leave you" or "punish you") because you have said things and done things that are different from what I wanted you to say and do”; or, "You can't be good ... you're different from me."

Because behavior is now being controlled by the bogus, programmed “mind” more than the brain, the personalized, individualized “mind” is able to inspire persons to destruct and self-destruct in opposition to the self-constructive actions that a normal brain would guide an organism to take.

To see the historical facts around what has happened with humans is to understand that the teachings have nothing to do with “escaping reality,” with “leaving this world behind, mentally,” with “relocating, mentally, into a castle in the air or into Foo-Foo Land” or with “leaving the AM-ness behind and abiding as THAT alone.”

The historical context makes clear that the non-dual teachings are intended to be a means by which the current effects of the process that allowed a "full mind" to develop and to become the “enemy” of humanity can be un-done via un-teaching and un-learning;

 a means by which persons can to be freed from being driven by the nonsense now stored in the typical human mind;

and

a means by which humans can abide naturally under the auspices of the all-natural brain and the all-natural conscious-energy.

That "un-doing" via
un-teaching and un-learning can be a simple process unless one’s teacher / teachers complicate the actual intent of the simple, non-dual-understanding process with the addition of unnatural and supposedly-lofty, supposedly-superior, supposedly-grand, supposedly-elevated, supposedly-exalted, and supposedly-supernatural elements.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: So why did Maharaj in his later talks concentrate on the fact that the cure for the Ultimate Sickness involves addressing “mind issues” rather than “too-little religion issues” and “too-little spirituality issues”? Because

1. he came to see that the most significant problems of humanity center in mind; and because

2. he was free enough of ego and egotism to admit that his earlier treatment plans (involving the use of religion and spirituality) were off the mark, ineffective and, therefore, ill-advised;

3. because that insight then led him to tell seekers to stop reading the so-called “spiritual classic” entitled I AM THAT and to heed the content of his later talks which focused on addressing the key issue - the sick mind - instead; because

4. he was willing to admit that he had misdiagnosed the actual cause of - and proper treatment for - the Ultimate Sickness; and because

5. he was willing to take the flack and willing to accept being criticized for having abandoned completely the earlier roles of “The Super Religious One” and “The Spiritual Giant” (confessing to seekers that he could, in the end, best be described as “a spiritual pygmy” when compared to the “spiritual giantism” which they were claiming and which he, too, had assumed in the past).

THE OVERWHELMING PREVALENCE OF MISDIAGNOSES

1. It is not likely that anyone of the age of twenty-five or more has not heard of someone’s illness having been misdiagnosed, or missed completely, by some doctor. A woman last August underwent a complete hysterectomy when an ovarian cyst was misdiagnosed as cancerous when it was not and when the cyst was said, erroneously, to have spread to all of her major female organs. She later learned that a simple procedure to remove the cyst alone was all that should have happened.

Complete misdiagnosis.

2. Similarly, in too many instances, counselors and psychologists and psychiatrists misdiagnose mental illnesses and the actual disorders or neuroses or psychoses that their clients are suffering from; or, those counselors and psychologists and psychiatrists fail to diagnose all of the disorders or neuroses or psychoses that their patients are suffering from.

Complete misdiagnosis.

3. Also, in like fashion, amateurs who claim to be “of service to others” are misdiagnosing the actual disorders or neuroses or psychoses which have developed among those coming to them and seeking help.

If a doctor misreads x-rays and brain scans and does not find your brain tumor and tells you that the proper treatment for your headache is Tylenol or high doses of prescription pain medications, then that doctor has not only misguided you but has also set you up for continuing misery and an early demise.

And what of those groups or programs where amateurs are offering diagnosis and a treatment plan (usually involving “spirituality”)?

Research has shown that

a. many of those going to such groups for help do not actually have the addictive personality disorder but are being driven by escapism and avoidance personality styles, issues which call for a specialized treatment plan offered only by professionals; and research has also revealed that

b. only a fraction of those seeking help - as well as those claiming that they can offer a solution - are actually suffering from a full-blown case of the Addictive Personality Disorder and that the true fact is, instead, that

c. most in those groups who are the ones claiming that they can help because they “have found the solution” are – just like most of those coming for help - actually suffering from a combination of other, often severe, mental and emotional disorders as well as multiple personality disorders including:

the Obsessive-Compulsive P.D.

and / or

the Depressive P.D.

and / or

the Dependent P.D.

and / or

the Co-Dependent P.D.

and / or

the Narcissistic P.D.

and / or

the Avoidant P.D.

and / or

the Borderline P.D.

and / or

the Schizoid-Avoidant P.D.

and / or

the Bipolar P.D.

 and / or

the Sociopathic P. D.

and / or

the Dissociative P.D. as well as, in almost every case,

unresolved trauma issues which usually date all the way back to childhood and which are rooted in what was modeled by the adults in their families of origin and which are rooted in the abusive or neglectful actions of those adults who were also suffering from a series of mental and emotional and personality disorders.

Yet those suffering from such mental and emotional and personality disorders as well as full-blown neuroses and psychoses are told that all of the above will magically disappear if they will just become “spiritual”?

Complete misdiagnosis, and worse.

That is another case of malpractice of such a degree that it would be deemed criminal in other circumstances. Is it any wonder that humanity’s mental disorders and neuroses and psychoses are now the most widespread illness on the planet and that the Ultimate Sickness is now spreading at pandemic levels all around the globe?

The persons who are suffering from some or all of the above disorders are being told by members of those groups that

a. they are abusing substances because they are not “spiritually fit”; and that

b. yes, they have body and mind problems; and that

c. yes, their main problem centers in the mind; but that

d. any and all of their body and mind problems will be solved if they will just become spiritually fit.

You can sue a doctor who provides a misdiagnosis and prescribes a totally ineffective treatment plan for what ails you; you can sue a non-credentialed, non-licensed person who is offering professional counseling services for a fee; but those volunteering to be “of service to others” get a free pass and can continue to practice their armchair psychology - with no mental healthcare training at all - and are thus allowed to set persons up for continued misery or an early demise.

Here, understanding that Maharaj finally came up with the proper diagnosis and finally offered the proper treatment (for what he suggested might be only a few), the emphasis is on discussing the mind-sickness that is at the core of the Ultimate Sickness.

Yet there is also offered here an invitation to seek trained professional care when indicated. That is why in the eBook below entitled Instability / Insanity: What the Advaita Teachings Can (and Cannot) Address, it is made clear that the non-dual understanding, in many cases

A. can address the mental and emotional issues if they are among the less serious varieties but that, in other cases, the teachings / unteachings

B. can only be a part of what is required to address entirely the more serious levels of psychic disintegration which the masses are now suffering from and that, in other cases, the teachings / unteachings

C. cannot have any significant effect at all when persons’ mental and emotional and personality issues have reached the most serious stages of psychic disintegration.

With Maharaj having come to understand the facts in “A” and “B” and “C” above, not everyone who entered the loft was allowed to stay. (And those trapped in the most serious degrees of personality identification and personality disorders and / or in the highest levels of egotism were not allowed by Maharaj to remain, either.)

This pointer is offered in the eBook THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS “PEACE OF MIND” (There is Only Peace if You’re Out of Your Mind)

So, it can be seen that the term “the mind” is just a name given to a set of files. Originally those files were stored in the brain (as what would come to be called “memories”) so that the file information could be retrieved if needed in order to help humans survive when facing dangerous situations (i.e., “Remember when the fellow in the next cave thought he was picking up a stick and it was a snake. Check more carefully.”)

The non-dual pointer: Those with wisdom and clarity can see that now the “mind” has been so distorted that the persons of the planet can believe that a rope is a snake while often mistaking “a real snake” for a harmless rope. And that mistake will lead many persons to enter into intimate “relationships” with some snakes that just appear to be harmless and even “loving” and “caring” and “wonderful.”

Complete misdiagnosis.

That misdiagnosis, and all misdiagnoses, are guaranteed to happen when persons are walking about in a mind-full state which renders them totally unawake and totally unaware. So it is, but so it need not be with you / You.

Yet so few governments and societies are willing to even begin to address the most serious mental illnesses among their populations.

It is left up to seekers to venture out on their own, from one venue to the next, in an often-futile search for that which they truly need to find. Is it also any wonder that Maharaj’s guesstimate of how many will ever Realize – that is, how many will ever be freed from learned ignorance and from the depths of parental-and-culturally-imposed-insanity – went from his original guess that "only one in one-hundred thousand will ever Realize" to his modified guess that "only one in a million will ever Realize" to his final estimate that "only one in ten million will ever Realize"

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: Yesterday, this point was offered:

Maharaj: “Don't rely on your mind for liberation. It is the mind that brought you into bondage. Go beyond it altogether”

and

he professed to be mindless, saying, “As to my mind, there is no such thing” and made clear that the mind cannot be happy

Furthermore, “happiness” and “bondage” cannot co-exist

and

“happiness” and “a mind” cannot co-exist

and

“a mind” and “freedom” cannot co-exist

and

“mindlessness” and “bondage” cannot co-exist.

So, the options for most among the masses are . . .

1. to continue being trapped in the machinations of the mind - and all that comes with that – including

a. restlessness

b. sleeplessness
c. endless churning and stirring of the mind
d. the constant agitation of hundreds of thousands of thoughts per day and
e. being driven by the bizarre and perverted content of the mind which is just an accumulation of the garbage that has been collected over the decades

or

2. to try to “purify the mind,” which amounts to trying to purify your household garbage rather than tossing it out

or

3. (depending on the teacher and the method of teaching used) trying to become even more mindful, using the mind to try to focus on something different from what it typically focuses on (as if telling you not to think about an elephant will do anything other than trigger a thought about an elephant; or as if the mind can cure the mind; or as if cancer can cure cancer; or as if garbage can be used to address the problems that come when garbage is not disposed of)

or

4. being rid of the mind once and for all and in that process returning to the “Child No-Knowing Stage” or the “Child Ignorance State” when the child was functioning without the disadvantage of even a single, solitary concept or idea or thought or notion or image (a.k.a., “belief”).

Should you seek the peace and freedom of #4, then understand that the process really is so very simple. Thousands of seekers that have come this way are convinced that is impossible to be mindless, that Maharaj was lying when he said he had no mind, and that “Floyd” is also lying when he says the same. If they do reach the point that they would also be mindless, they imagine how complicated that process must be or how insane one must become in order to be mindless, etc. Nothing is farther from the truth.

It has been pointed out here often that “there is no ‘one’ here who has even one, single belief, so there most certainly is no one here who wants you to believe anything, either.” The deal here is about being free of beliefs, not adding beliefs, and the deal here is about being mindless, not mindful or mind-full. How can that happen for you, should you be willing to take the actions necessary to bring to an end the full-mind state and enter into the bliss of the no-mind state? When might that possibility happen for you? It can happen instantly.

The moment that you stop attaching to your ideas, notions, concepts, thoughts, impressions, opinions, views, theories, inklings, and suspicions (a.k.a., beliefs . . . a.k.a. “learned ignorance”) and the moment that you are willing to stop clinging to any belief that you are willing to defend and the moment that you abandon any and all willingness to fight for your beliefs or die for your beliefs or kill for your beliefs, then the very moment in which the last belief goes will be the very moment in which mindlessness comes.

Will you lose all ability to talk, write, express, etc.? Of course not. What happens instead is that all blockages will go and nothing will ever be the same for you - for You - again.

The term “blockages” refers to all of the content of the mind which blocks the pure consciousness from seeing clearly and accurately and truthfully. When the final blockage goes, also gone will be the belief in the false ego-states / personalities / personas which were stored in the mind and which were subconsciously controlling your thinking and talking and actions.

At the point of being free of all blockages, you will function under the auspices of the brain and the pure consciousness (as does every other life-form on the planet, except humans). If functioning under the auspices of the brain and the pure consciousness, then it will be the consciousness which speaks, the consciousness which writes, the consciousness which – without the hindrance of any thoughts - will then direct all words that come from within the composite unity and all actions undertaken by the composite unity.

You will have reached the state Maharaj endorsed, a “zero concepts state,” and you will be mindless. You will be – as the eBook below suggests – “out of your mind” but not in the sense that you will be “crazy.” There is no one to be “crazy.”

When Maharaj spoke of “ignorance and stupidity and insanity” as symptoms suffered by the masses with the Ultimate Sickness, he did not say that those with the Ultimate Sickness are ignorant people and stupid people and insane people. There are no “ones” to be “ignorant and stupid and insane.” There are composite unities with blocked consciousness who are being driven by those three symptoms.

Furthermore, to be “out of your mind” is to be at peace because you are “out of the world” which you felt all along was trapping you. Maharaj said, “You are not in the world. The world is in you,” meaning, “in your mind.” That imagined world is pictured in billions of ways by billions of non-Realized persons, but it is never a “pretty picture” consistently:

Sometimes it might be grand, and sometimes it might be the greatest horror imaginable. But what it is assured to be is an imagined world” that is constantly in a state of flux. It is always a "world of duality" with “high’s and low’s,” “up’s and down’s,” and “good times and bad times.”

What it cannot ever be is consistent, stable, and steady; thus, personas that believe they are abiding in that imaginary world of their perceptions / misperceptions will be assured of being inconsistent, unstable, and unsteady.

Therefore, might a state of “bliss” not be about what you have (such as a full mind) but more about what you do not have (such as a full mind)?

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: Yesterday, this point was offered:

Maharaj professed to be mindless, saying, "As to my mind, there is no such thing” and he made clear that the mind cannot be happy

and

“Don't rely on your mind for liberation. It is the mind that brought you into bondage. Go beyond it altogether.”

Thus, “happiness” and “bondage” cannot co-exist

and

“happiness” and “a mind” cannot co-exist

and

“a mind” and “freedom” cannot co-exist

and

“mindlessness” and “bondage” cannot co-exist.

So might a state of “bliss” not be about what you have (such as a full mind) but more about what you do not have (such as a full mind)?

Some ask, “But if I reach a no-mind state, a state of mindlessness, how can I function in the relative existence?”

The reply: “The same why that the trillions upon trillions and trillions of no-minded, non-humans function: via the auspices of the brain, that is, naturally and spontaneously while being totally awake and totally aware and unencumbered by a constantly-moving mind that preempts any chance of experiencing bliss.

So what is the difference in “consciousness” and “the brain” and “the mind”? This is shared in the eBook below entitled “There’s No Such Thing As ‘Peace of Mind’ (There Is Only Peace if You’re Out of Your Mind)”:

Consciousness is rooted in the Absolute. The brain is rooted in the elements. The ‘mind’ is rooted in wrong programming and faulty conditioning and lies and concepts and ideas and superstitions and falsehoods. And personas are rooted in programmed minds and are sustained by the ego-based lies and by the learned ignorance that are being taught in most modern cultures.”

Then in the same book, these questions which have been asked over the years are shared (and the brief replies which were provided to questioners are inserted after each query):

“How can I attain peace of mind?”

F.: You can’t.

“Why is my mind constantly in motion?”

F.: That is its nature, but the characteristic is aggravated by programming and conditioning and acculturation and domestication and indoctrination and brainwashing.

“Why do I start thinking about one thing and get hung up on that?”

F.: Because you are suffering from the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and would likely have a very high Personality Type One score on a personality inventory test.

“Why does my mind sometimes feel as if there’s the chatter of a thousand monkeys going on inside my head?”

F.” Because something very much like the chatter of a thousand monkeys really is going on inside your head.”

“How can I purify my mind and get rid of all the troublesome things that fill it all day long?”

F.: How can you purify the garbage which you haul away or burn or put out at the curb two times per week in order to have a service haul it away? In fact, if it were suggested here that you keep your garbage but merely purify it – once a weekly or on a daily basis – you would conclude that “Floyd is insane”; yet, that is exactly what persons do with the garbage that has been put into their minds: "I'm going to keep the garbage in my mind, but I'll find a way to purify what I have all of that garbage stored in."

“Why can’t I stop my mind at night and go to sleep and stay asleep until morning?”

F.: Because the content of the mind is the source of all irritations and annoyance and unhappiness and unrest and discomfort and restlessness. Rest comes only if concepts / beliefs go.

Next, the elemental plant food brain and the manifested consciousness are natural; however, consciousness can be blocked from seeing clearly via programming and conditioning and acculturation and domestication and indoctrination and brainwashing. The result: a mind that is totally unnatural.

The mind, being totally unnatural, is also capable of generating beliefs regarding things deemed to be “supernatural” or “magical” or “spiritual.” So if the mind is unnatural, and if no mind has ever existed at the time of a child’s “birth,” how does it come about? How did the first mind in the history of humankind develop?

Consider: the earliest brains in adult-age, human-like life-forms could fit in something about the size of a coffee cup. As humans evolved, the adult brain reached its current size of about three-and-one-half cups.

Also from “There’s No Such Thing As ‘Peace of Mind’ (There Is Only Peace if You’re Out of Your Mind)”:

The smaller human brain, in its earlier and simpler stages of development, allowed humans then to live as deer now live: both would hunt / forage / find food for survival; interact; take actions that are self-defensive and self-constructive; and procreate in order that the species would survive. As more and more humans walked the planet, the simplicity of existence would be lost as the simplicity of the brain was lost.

Complications resulted because of an increase in human interactions (and an increase in both individual as well as tribal interests and agendas). The brain began to evolve in order to compensate, and eventually areas that could store memories came into being. At that point, the mind and the brain worked in tandem and in harmony to contribute to the survival of individuals and the species. The mind came about as “memories” began to be stored. As a part of the defense mechanisms for survival of the species, the mind had its role and played it “properly” (naturally) for thousands of years.

For example, if a caveman remembered that his companion fell from a cliff and died as a result, the caveman might avoid falling from cliffs. The original process was as follows: over a period of evolution, the brain expanded to include a cerebral cortex and a hippocampus. Afterwards, when an event happened (such as a human falling off a cliff) or when someone came to understand something (such as, “falling off a cliff can kill you”), the brain placed the memory of that event and the related knowledge acquisition in its “memory files." That is all the mind was: a collection of memories filed away in those "newer" parts of the brain.

The memory of both old and new happenings would be processed and stored away in different areas of the cerebral cortex, or the "gray matter" of the brain. The hippocampus would process the memories.

No problem with that process because what was initially stored in the mind was almost always there to assist humans with survival; thus, the mind was originally “a friend.” Then, because of bogus and perverted programming and conditioning and acculturation and domestication and indoctrination and brainwashing, sense was replaced with nonsense. Now, the mind has become “the enemy” . . . the enemy of peace, of clarify, of wisdom, of freedom, of sanity.

Are you also seeing why the invitation is to reject all nonsensical claims and recommendations about the mind, including:

“purify the mind”

and

“come to a retreat in order to become more mindful”

and

“the content of the mind (which is actually the source of all misery and suffering) can be changed so it will become "the source of all happiness”

and

“mindfulness is a positive energy”

and

“an unsteady mind can be made steady”

and

“bring your mind under control”

and

“a mind that generates unhappiness by focusing on the past or the future can generate peace if you only focus on what is happening right now.” ( But what if right now, you are being tormented by a controlling, abusive spouse? What if right now you have a parent who is beating you? What if right now you are being bullied at school? What is right now you are being discriminated against because of your race or sexual orientation or economic level or social level? What is right now you learned that your child was murdered? Well, there is one - who claims to be offering non-duality, along with a mix of other philosophies and spiritual movement teachings - who will tell you to just “Love what is, no matter what is happening right now.” In other words, just put a spin on everything and proclaim as that person proclaims: “It’s all good.” No, it’s not. That is a statement of duality, and all statements rooted in duality are false.)

See, mind stuff, the result of what happened after the mind developed,
after sense became replaced with nonsense, and after the self-destructive mind began over-riding the constructive brain as well as the natural tendencies of the manifested, unblocked, uncontaminated consciousness.

Thus, the pointers that

“happiness” and “bondage” cannot co-exist

and

“happiness” and “a mind” cannot co-exist

and

“a mind” and “freedom” cannot co-exist

and

“mindlessness” and “bondage” cannot co-exist.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: In the free eBook below on “Seeking,” readers are invited to consider that

(1) the main problem of humanity does not rest in the fact that there are too few religious people (what with 97% already claiming a religious affiliation) and that

(2) the main problem of humanity has nothing to do with the notion that each person has a “spirit” within and that humans have problems because that spirit is “unfit” or suffering a “malady.”

[If you have been told that, were you not curious, even to the point of having to question such a belief? If there were inside every human being and animal a spiritual yet immaterial and invisible part which is said by some to be immortal and which some claim has specific qualities – namely, being “the God-given essence” and, in some belief systems, being the actual embodiment of God” - then how could something that is supposedly

“the essence of God”

and

“the embodiment of God”

and

“the everlasting personification of God”

and

which is supposedly present right now

and

which will supposedly exist forever (even after the end of the manifestation),

then

how could that possibly become “unfit” or “sick” or “suffer a malady”?

Per their beliefs, it’s God, for God’s sake!

How could that which is supposedly “the essence of God within” or which is supposedly "God within, literally" or which is supposedly "the spark of the Divine within" or supposedly “the Divinity within,” how could that God or "God-ness" possibly become “unfit” or “sick” or end up suffering from any kind of “malady”? All so very confusing, but typical. How could that which is supposedly all-perfect and all-powerful become weak, frail, ill, unsound, invalid, ailing, failing, infirmed, debilitated, decrepit, or enfeebled?

As a child, when I had done something that was about to bring forth some harsh punishment, I would lie about what I had done, asserting my innocence in order to try to protect the continuity of the consciousness . . . often feeling that I was dealing with someone who could literally kill. The problem with that approach: after the first lie, more lies had to follow, and the subsequent lies began to contradict the earlier lies. See? When humans start lying and trying to convince other humans to believe what they are saying but are questioned further, it does all become quite incomprehensible, and rightly so. See? All so very confusing, but all so very typical. Talk about “a mind full” of it. There it is.]

Here, there is no one with any beliefs, so there cannot possibly be anyone that wants you to believe anything, either. To the contrary, the invitation is to abandon all beliefs and in the process you will abandon all confusion.

Here, instead, a consideration is offered that the actual problem with humanity is what non-dualists call “the Ultimate Sickness,” that the Ultimate Sickness is a mental sickness, and that the main problem of humanity centers in mind.

Moreover, the point is offered that - based in Maharaj’s experience and observations and the experience and observations here - neither religion nor spirituality nor the mind can heal the mind.

If one is suffering from cancer, the last thing needed is . . . more cancer. Similarly, if one is suffering from an illness that is mental, the last thing needed is . . . more “stuff” that is also mental. If a problem centers in the mind, would one with wisdom recommend that the mind needs to be filled with more? Or might less mind-full-ness be deemed a wiser course?

When non-duality recommends de-accumulation, that applies to de-accumulation in all ways, in all areas. If one is suffering from some type of internal obstruction, would the sufferer who is not insane choose a doctor who recommends removing part of the obstruction or a doctor who recommends removing the entire blockage

Similarly, in some quarters there is talk of “purifying the mind,” but would maximum purity involve partial purging or total purging?

Without entering into a debate about what the one, single meaning of “paramakash” should be, Maharaj said that he did take his stand “there.” Of “paramakash” he said, it is “the timeless and spaceless reality . . . mindless, undifferentiated, the infinite potentiality.” See? Mindless.

He advised: “Behave as if you are pure awareness, bodiless and mindless . . . .”

He counseled visitors to seek that state of “zero concepts,” thus having no beliefs and thus being mindless. (Not "a state of almost zero concepts," clinging at less to the one remaining thought which keeps you forever mindful of - and forever focused on - the "I am"? No. Not even that should be clung to.)

He made clear that the non-Realized “ . . . are always conscious of the mind but are not aware of [themselves] as being conscious.”

He recommended: “. . . Be free from the limitations of the mind.”

He professed to be mindless, saying, “As to my mind, there is no such thing” and made clear that the mind cannot be happy.

He said, “The mind, by its very nature, divides and opposes.” It is the source of duality, and duality is at the root of humanity’s instability and ignorance and insanity

However, if you have an extra US$5,000.00-US$20,000.00 and want to learn how to be “mindful,” there’s a retreat for you. Or here, for no charge at all, you can be told that you are already mindful . . . that is, full of mind. Rather than paying to be more mindful, the invitation here is to be mindless. But thousands this year have already paid thousands to travel to France or to satellite retreats all around the globe to find out how to be even more mindful and how to do what seems impossible: to take a mind that is already chock full and still be able to be even more mind-full, still be able to make it even more full.

Some in the past, when that pointer has been offered, said: “But Floyd, the deal is to be mindful of the AM-ness alone.” The reply: “As if that is natural? Do the deer walking through the woods and foraging for food have to repeat mentally, over and over, 'I am . . . I am . . . I am?' And as if those trapped for decades in focusing only on 'themselves' should now focus on thinking over and over, “I am . . . I am . . . I am . . . I am.”

More with that "I," "I," "I" stuff. Is that ever going to end, or is the plan to forever be mindful of the "I"? (A caution. Don't walk about in public mumbling that. They might lock you away - unless your culture - like the one here, has normalized insanity and now just ignores it).

Okay, so you are. Next? And okay, yes, Maharaj early on assigned the "I am" mantra to inspire mindfulness per his guru’s instructions; and yes, he did it even after he said he was doing it because he was instructed to do so by his guru; but he did not really put any value in the use of the "mindfulness-generating mantra." Eventually, therefore, he broke from his guru’s advice and stopped encouraging the use of that mantra and turned away from his earlier talks about "mindfulness" and about "certain ways that the mind could be used by seekers."

Just as he tested the possibility of using dogma to address the Ultimate Sickness, and just as he tested the possibility of using spirituality and spiritual exercises to address the Ultimate Sickness, so too did he test certain ways that a mind and a mantra might be used to move a seeker farther along the “path.” He would eventually see that all three failed his tests, so he left religion behind, he left spirituality behind, and he concluded in regards to the mind’s “worth”:

“. . . Nothing the mind can visualise and want is of much value.”

Eventually, he went even farther and said, “Distrust your mind, and go beyond.”

He said: “Whatever is conceived by the mind must be false, for it is bound to be relative and limited.” The more mindful one is, the more one will be in touch with the false.

For thousands of dollars, you can be told that it is “Mindfulness that is a source of happiness.” (Sounds “deep,” huh?)

Maharaj, to the contrary, said: “Don't rely on your mind for liberation. It is the mind that brought you into bondage. Go beyond it altogether.”

See, “happiness” and “bondage” cannot co-exist.

So much for spending thousands to be told to be more mindful. Here, for no charge at all, you can come to understand that the content of the mind is the source of all misery and suffering.

For thousands of dollars, you can be told that “mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment.” (Sounds “deep,” huh?)

The fact: (A) The mind and (B) “being aware and awake” are totally incompatible. It is via the pure, unblocked consciousness by which awareness can be aware of itself and by which pure witnessing can happen, which allows for “being aware and awake,” and that has nothing to do with “the mind.” If the mind is involved, than “being aware and awake” are impossible.

Maharaj: “Awareness is the point at which the mind reaches out beyond itself.” There is no correlation being mindfulness and awareness. They are counter-intuitive, contradictory. Mindfulness preempts awareness.

Maharaj: “. . . There is no such thing as mind apart from thoughts.” More mindfulness equals more thoughts. More thoughts equal more false beliefs.

Consider the key pointer in this exchange:

Maharaj: “How can anything be steady in a mind which itself is not steady?”

Questioner: “How can I make my mind steady?”

Maharaj: “How can an unsteady mind make itself steady? Of course it cannot. It is the nature of the mind to roam about. All you can do is to shift the focus of consciousness beyond the mind.”

He noted: “. . . Ideas of movement, of restlessness, of pleasure and pain, are all in the mind. The Self [Pure Witnessing] stands beyond the mind, aware, but unconcerned.”

Many claim they are seeking peace of mind. As noted in the subtitle of one eBook below, this pointer from Maharaj makes clear that “. . . there is no such thing as peace of mind. Mind means disturbance; restlessness itself is mind.”

The truly wise seek not mindfulness. The truly wise seek the end of mindfulness.

In fact, Maharaj said, “The death of the mind is the birth of wisdom.”

Therefore, the truly wise and Loving do not offer mindfulness. The truly wise and Loving offer a means by which one can be free of the mind, completely, for mindfulness guarantees a focus upon “me,” “I,” “self.” Doing some “mindful” dishwashing? The focus is on Me, My presence, on the notion that “I AM” and “I am here.” That’ll get you some broken plates. If you come to my house for a retreat and offer to wash the breakfast dishes, please focus on the breakable dishes and not on your almost-always hard-to-break "self."

Maharaj: “Stop making use of your mind and see what happens. Do this one thing thoroughly. That is all.”

See, Maharaj made clear that what the mind thinks it knows is itself, its “self,” its “false selves.” Thus, “The mind covers up reality, without knowing it.”

Should one really want more mind, more mindfulness, when it is the mind that underscores the false, that leads to the belief that the false is true and real even as it “. . . covers up reality, without knowing it”?

The mind is home to dozens or scores or many scores of personalities, of false identities. Mindfulness only increases one’s focus on self, never on the not-self, never on reality or Reality but always on the false instead. Yet many pay a small fortune to activate the mind even more, thus tapping more and more into self and false concepts and ideas, etc. (a.k.a., “beliefs”).

The mind is the seat of all deceptions, delusions, and false personal identifications; thus, the problem with the mind and being mindful?

Maharaj: “Your mindfulness must include the mind also.” Ah, there’s the rub.

Again, “Don't rely on your mind for liberation. It is the mind that brought you into bondage. Go beyond it altogether.”

More mindfulness = more bondage. The wise would see that to pay thousands of dollars to be moved deeper into bondage is just more evidence of insanity; moreover, to pay anything for any idea, in fact, is evidence of insanity. Intent on paying for something? Pay for the means by which you can be freed from the content of the mind, from being mind-full (which is the root of being full-of-self).

True, if mindfulness were to result in fixed awareness, fine, but only about 1 on 10,000,000 ever become fully aware, per Maharaj’s estimate, so quite fine in theory but quite a mess in reality.

Next, the mind can never be brought under control by you. It is uncontrollable, though it can be manipulated by those who would control your minds’ thoughts and your mind-generated words and your mind-generated actions.

Maharaj made clear that “beyond the mind there is no suffering.” If not beyond the mind and mindfulness, then suffering will be guaranteed.

Far more sane is this: “By looking tirelessly, I became quite empty, and with that emptiness, all came back to me except the mind. I find I have lost the mind irretrievably.” So much for the mind and mindfulness which you can supposedly be taught for thousands of dollars.

But without any charge at all, you can be offered the considerations here that (a) consciousness is a form of energy and that (b) the content of the mind is not energy but is a conglomeration of dreamed up and bogus ideas and concepts and misperceptions and notions and thoughts and theories and views (all of which can be boiled down to two words: “your” beliefs”).

However, that too must be clarified because they are not “your beliefs” at all but are actually “their beliefs” which have been passed on to you and which you have adopted and which you now erroneously think are your beliefs.

Either way, they are delusions . . . illusions . . . and neither delusions nor illusions are “energy.” To suggest that delusions and illusions are “energy” (and an energy that you should seek) would be tantamount to suggesting that “the child of a barren woman is energy.”

Thus, to be “aware and awake” is actually the antidote for the accumulation of bogus ideas and concepts and misperceptions and notions and thoughts and theories and views (a.k.a., “beliefs”).

Yet if you pay thousands to go to one of those "mindfulness" retreats, for your payment you will be taught how to walk mindfully, sit mindfully, work mindfully, eat mindfully, etc. (Sounds “deep,” huh?)

Hummm. Imagine, once home, all of the things you could add to the list of things you could do “mindfully” for the remainder of the manifestation.

Yet is that not the way that the masses already behave on a daily basis? Are they not “mindful” (full of mind” or “in possession of a full mind” and “totally trapped in their minds and the content therein”)?

Here, the pointer is that mindfulness is not a prerequisite for being aware and awake. It is the very cause of being unawake and unaware.

Of the trillions upon trillions upon trillions of life-forms on the planet, only the members of one group (humans) have a mind; additionally, only those members of that species are sleep-walking mindfully, sitting in their sleep mindfully, talking in their sleep mindfully, driving in their sleep mindfully, working in their sleep mindfully, eating in their sleep mindfully, ad infinitum

Consider the deer and that they have no mind. Does that mean that they cannot be “awake and aware”? Hardly, they are one of the most aware life-forms in the forest (the “mystery” to them of potentially-lethal highways bisecting their forests as well as the blinding lights of vehicles racing along on those roads notwithstanding).

Of the 8,700,000 species on the planet, and the trillions upon trillions upon trillions of life-forms among those groups, only the members of one species (humans) have a mind, yet humans are the most unawake and unaware of all life-forms while all other life-forms (which are mindless) are totally awake and totally aware.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: In conclusion, most persons will never seek, already convinced that they can find all they need to know in their “holy” religious books. Others proudly announce: "I am not religious. I am spiritual."

For those who are seeking, a seven-step approach is offered here (as was the case with Maharaj).

There are seven steps on the “path” that Maharaj discussed, though he never presented them in a “1” to “7” ordering but instead merely referenced them when sharing pointers in the loft.

If a seeker’s words indicated that he was stuck at step four, Maharaj offered pointers that provided an opportunity to shift beyond that and move to step five.

If a seeker’s words indicated that he was stuck at step six, Maharaj offered pointers that provided an opportunity to shift beyond that and move to step seven.

Most who entered the loft were stuck at Step Three of seven, though most thought they had reached the end of the "path." Of those he said that most think that they are being bathed in the full light of noon but are really still standing in the dull light of dawn.

They were playing roles, and defending those false identities vigorously, even as they entered “a role-elimination room.”

At the third step, some were playing a role assigned by a parent or parents and / or culture, namely, the role of “The Religious One” which was eventually self-elevated to the status of “The Super Religious One”;

or

many were playing their “new and improved good role,” that of “The Spiritual Giant.”

In any and every ashram in India (in “Maharaj’s day” and now), one or both of those roles was being reinforced (again, then as well as now). Only in the loft of Maharaj was this the approach:

Maharaj: I will give you nothing; instead, I will take everything away.

The same happens here. With 97% of the persons on the planet reporting that they are affiliated with one religion or another and thus accepting a religious identification as being real, and with millions more proudly proclaiming that they are "beyond being religious and are now spiritual," then 99.99% of all persons are stuck at the third step (and want to stay there).

The rarest occurrence of all here is to cross the path of one who has transcended the third step and is working toward the abandonment of all identification.

Some ask why I spoke often in the past, as Maharaj did, about “being nothing” and about “the nothingness” and about persons “not having a clue where I live.” They want to know if I “lost that understanding” or “never really had that understanding.”

What was understood about “nothing” and “nothingness” remains, but there is caution today about whom that is shared with. Why?

Because of the widespread abuse that persons have suffered in their past, more persons than ever are using dissociation and escapism and avoidance and schizoid-avoidance and addictions as the often subconscious means by which they can escape “all things relative” (or claim to abide solely “as THAT” or “in THAT”).

To speak nowadays of the nothingness and nothing to most becomes an invitation, for far too many persons, to dissociate from reality and to move into Foo-Foo Land or into the castles in the air that their minds have supposedly constructed.

Nowadays, there is an epidemic of escape-oriented personality disorders which can lead persons to disintegrate into states of neuroses and psychoses. The result: a global population that is suffering from

The Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (P.D.), the Avoidant P.D., the Borderline P.D., the Schizoid-Avoidance P.D., the Schizotypal P.D., the Bi-Polar P.D., the Addictive Personality P.D., and the Dissociative P.D. (to mention but a few).

The result is a global population that is totally out of touch with reality while most deny that fact and while some now claim that they are totally and singularly in touch with “Reality;” thus, caution is used nowadays around sharing the non-dual pointers regarding nothing and nothingness because it has been witnessed that many use those pointers to avoid work, avoid relative responsibility, and avoid the relative itself.

After having come to understand, as did Maharaj, that the Ultimate Sickness is not rooted in too little religion or in a spiritual malady and that it is a condition rooted in mental illness, then the last thing he would do, at least at the end of his teaching career, was reinforce that already-present mental illness. Same here.

That is why, here, a three-leg “journey” is discussed:

LEG ONE: the “coming in” stage when the consciousness manifested and was soon exposed to programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, brainwashing, and indoctrination, resulting in widespread ignorance and insanity

LEG TWO: What Maharaj referenced as the “going back out” phase. He advised those ready for the second “leg” of the "journey" thusly:

“ . . . You should go back, reverse, to the source”

and

“Follow the same path by which you came.”

LEG THREE here involves the “coming back in” process whereby one was freed of all false identifications and all beliefs and all ignorance and insanity via Realization and then "comes back in" to the relative, to reality, so to speak. That “coming back in” differs from the initial “coming in” stage because on LEG THREE the coming back in happens without the programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, brainwashing, and indoctrination that happened during LEG ONE.

Then, Reality is overlaid on reality. That is, understanding and awareness and sanity and logic and reason will manifest throughout the remainder of the relative manifestation because the dual-mindedness that leads persons to “be unstable in all ways” has ended when mindedness ended.

And when does mindedness end? When one reaches what Maharaj called a state of “zero concepts.” To be free of “beliefs” is to be emptied of all ideas, perspectives, views, thoughts, impressions, false images, notions, opinions, theories, inklings, and concepts which have never been questioned but that have been believed in wholeheartedly because of blind faith alone.

Maharaj said that “it is enough to know what you are not.” Discussions of “being nothing” have allowed some to adopt “nothing” as a supposedly new and loftier and more noble and more surreal and more fantastic identity.

Here, the intent is to “reel those types back in” and to invite them to stop ignoring the “I AM” part of the summative statement of non-duality and to be fully in touch with reality and fully in touch with Reality, meaning with that which is free of what Maharaj identified as three of the major traits of the Ultimate Sickness, namely, “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity.”

Indeed, the Ultimate Sickness is not rooted in too little religion; nor is it a spiritual malady. It is a sickness that centers in the mind, and only an Ultimate Medicine which addresses the problems generated by the bogus content of the mind can effectively address the Ultimate Sickness. That understanding was finally reached by Maharaj via his own experiences and observations, and that understanding was reached here the same way.

So, best regards if you are yet seeking. May you find both reality and Reality.  May you find the only effective Ultimate Medicine.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU

F.: To review:

There are presently some 8,700,000 different species on planet earth, but the number of “living things” within each of those species and in their subspecies would measure not in the millions or billions or trillions or quadrillions or octillions or decilliuons but in the duodecillions and more.

Only the members of one of those trillions upon trillions upon trillions of living things have been programmed and acculturated in a way that they now need to be told “how to live” or “how to address their problems” or “how to overcome.” Only the members of one species has been convinced that there is not only "this life to be traversed" but that there are “multiple lives to be negotiated” or that there is “a life eternal which must be the ultimate focus of one’s earthly life which is primarily a preparation for 'the next life' or for 'an escape from the next life and all future cycles'.”

The members of only one species has been pumped chock full of nonsense and ignorance and insanity, so only one species is “seeking” or “preparing” or “trying to live the right way” or “trying to live in a good way.” The members of only one species have made a second job out of mere living.

Thus, the case on planet earth is this: 100% of all of the trillions upon trillions upon trillions of living things are concept-free, idea-free, religion-free, spirituality-free, belief-free, and free of being driven to go and do and zoom, except for humans.

100% of all of the trillions upon trillions upon trillions of living things do not give a second’s attention to anything concerned with “religion” or “spirituality” or “philosophy” or an “ideology,” except for humans, and those trillions of living things that do not give a second’s attention to anything concerned with “religion” or “spirituality” or “philosophy” or an “ideology” are doing just fine, thank you very much.

100% of all of the trillions upon trillions upon trillions of living things house the conscious-energy, but they are all mindless, except for humans; so because 100% of all of the trillions upon trillions upon trillions of living things on the planet – except for humans - are not absorbed in or paralyzed by or stymied by or made lethal by a set of dreamed up and totally false concepts and beliefs about religion or spirituality or philosophy or ideology, those trillions upon trillions upon trillions of living things – all except humans – are abiding naturally, not unnaturally and not “supernaturally.”

On the morning walks taken here each morning, the deer (which are often offered here as an example of how to abide naturally – and most of the time – peacefully) were observed yesterday to be altering their behavior as they always do during this season when bucks lose all caution. (For those in some countries, see “The Jerry Springer Show” for evidence of how insane males can become when being controlled by their drive to engage in that phenomenon known as “the rut.”)

The altered behavior? Yesterday, with the scent of a receptive female is in the air, seven bucks gathered in a clearing that is a few steps from the front door of the house here:

Whereas the deer will usually stay back some distance from me during my walks, during this season they are bold and capable of being aggressive. As seen above, they will come right up to me to check me out and to make clear that I understand I might be a bit too close to their territory and to the doe that was lying down a few yards away. Like so many males dealing with other males, they miss the truth here that "I don't want her . . . you can have her, mate." (And yes, I always have an exit strategy laid out in advance, the one yesterday involving a parked truck next to where I was standing and which I could have jumped into quickly enough if that had been called for).

So what was going on with the deer that usually behave as if they are Realized but were behaving yesterday as if they were among the mass of non-Realized humans? Why were these animals which often provide a near-year round example of what the relative existence is like for the Realized suddenly behaving as do humans who are locked year round in their hierarchies of separation and in their aggressive, hierarchical attitudes?

As the case with the Realized, the deer throughout their other ten to eleven non-breeding months usually move about slowly, calmly, deliberately, serenely, tranquilly, peacefully, and evenly. During “the rut,” they behave exactly like non-Realized humans who live every day in a go-do-zoom mode . . . in a fast, never-calm, seldom-tranquil, seldom-peaceful fashion.

The deer, therefore, can still be used to provide a year-round example: most of the year they model a Realized-like manner which would behoove humans were they to abide in the same manner; for six weeks or so, the deer model "how not to abide."

The rest of the year, they behave calmly and sanely. Because they do not lack coping skills – as do most humans – they typically experience no excessive anxiety or constant fear or restlessness or irritability; therefore, there are no other deer that sell them fermented berries that will get them drunk and inspire them to run recklessly down a path and miss a turn and run into a tree and kill themselves.

Except during the rut, they do not lash out at other deer but abide peacefully as content members of one large herd. Unlike humans, but instead like the trillions upon trillions upon trillions of non-human living things, they are not driven to use drugs or religion or spirituality or work or accumulation or any of the thousands of things that humans become addicted to because of an inability to cope; as result of anxiety; as a result of instability, mental and emotional and otherwise; as a result of being deceived by lies; as a result of being fooled; as a result of normalizing chaos, ad infinitum

Humanity’s key issues which Maharaj identified – ignorance, stupidity, and insanity – are absent among the trillions upon trillions upon trillions of non-human living things. None except humans are set up to have to try to deal with issues which all other mindless (and, therefore, concept-less and belief-less) non-human living things never even consider.

All living things except humans are free of all nonsense, and it is freedom from that nonsense which any wise human will seek. That is “the WHAT” which humans that are wise enough will seek. The relevant fact: freedom from the mind and from concepts and from beliefs does not come by “expanding the mind” via the addition of even more baseless concepts and beliefs.

There are scores of this type yoga or that, there are five basic non-duality teaching methods, and there are hundreds of bastardized forms of those five methods. If the method by which you are seeking involves dogma, then you are learning rather than unlearning, accumulating rather than de-accumulating, and being taught rather than being un-taught.

If the method by which you are seeking involves spirituality, then you are likely involved in the going and doing and zooming that involves meetings and spiritual exercise, etc., so you are learning more rather than unlearning all, accumulating more rather than de-accumulating all, and being taught more rather than being un-taught all.

If the method by which you are seeking involves detachment from the relative, dissociation from the AM-ness, and escaping once and for all everything involved with the IS-ness, then understand the psychological ramifications:

the Dissociative Disorder is a mental illness; the Avoidant and Schizoid-Avoidant Disorders are mental sicknesses; and being out of touch with reality while thinking you are fully in touch with Reality is a mental illness that involves the highest levels of distortion and delusion.

Trillions upon trillions upon trillions of non-human living things need no religion, need no spirituality, need no more knowledge, need no guidance from afar, need no power or Power, and need no psychologist or counselor or non-dual teacher. Only humans think they need religion and / or spirituality and more knowledge and guidance from afar and power or Power. If trillions upon trillions upon trillions of non-human living things can make it fine without any of that, why can’t you?

Only because You are not aware of the "you" / "you’s" that have been adopted and only because "you" are not aware of the multiple personalities which are driving you via their hidden subconscious agendas and which are determining your every thought and word and action.

The human sense of “needing” . . . need not be (except to the degree of "needing" the pointers required to shift away from the “you’s” and from all beliefs and from all hidden agendas and from mental problems which are not at all a result of “too little religion” or of “a spiritual malady”).

SECTION FOUR:
THREE FREE eBOOKS
(Compliments of Andy Gugar, Jr.)

The following three eBooks are available without charge for you or for friends

I.

"GOOD vs. EVIL?" or "IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY, and INSANITY?"

The content of this eBook deals with one of the most common but erroneous beliefs that the non-Realized masses cling to and which they will fight about (and even kill over), namely, that there is a planet-wide duel going on between “the forces of good and evil” in the universe.

Maharaj said of each that visited his Bombay loft, “Only that person will visit this place whose virtue and sin have come to an end.” He also said that the problems of humankind are problems associated with the Ultimate Sickness and that three of the key traits of the Ultimate Sickness are "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity."

To that end, either (1) the ancient view is spot on: that the "ills of the planet" are rooted in evil people, in people not being religious enough or spiritual enough, and are caused solely by bad morality; or, (2) the "ills of the planet" are rooted in ignorance, stupidity and insanity and "being good" or "being moral" does not put an end to ignorance, does not eliminate stupidity, and does not treat insanity in any way.

II.

"THE VISION"

Comments regarding the free eBook entitled “THE VISION”:

“My thanks to you and Andy.” – Andrew “Mac” McMaster

“Thanks so much for the book! And, by the way, it is brilliant and the most effective pointing that you have done. It has served to help clear the remaining blockages.” – Stan Cross

“Greatly appreciate having “THE VISION” added to my Henderson resource library that is situated on the right side of my bed for easy access! Eternally grateful for what was received and what was given.” – Robert Rigby

‘THE VISION’ is such a well-written, condensed version of the Nisarga Yoga approach to understanding and enjoying Reality that I feel it can serve as a must-read ‘meditation guide’ for all earnest seekers.” – Andy Gugar, Jr.

 III.

While in South Africa in 2011, I was introduced to A Primate’s Memoir (2002) by Dr. Robert Maurice Sapolsky. Sapolsky is an American neuroendocrinologist; a professor of biology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at Stanford University; a researcher; an author; and a Research Associate at the National Museums of Kenya.

A Primate’s Memoir (which documents Sapolsky’s years in Africa while studying baboons), was recommended because there is much that a non-dualist or Advaitin or Nisargan can relate to by comparing and contrasting what Sapolsky reveals about the way certain troops of baboons live in Africa with the way that humans abide all around the globe. The book also portrays an unconventional way of studying neurophysiology to determine the effects of stress on life expectancy. (And the reduction or elimination of stress among humans is one of the aims of the non-dual understanding.)

Now Sapolsky’s recent findings are offered in a documentary film entitled “Stress: Portrait of a Killer.” [The 56-minute film is available on YouTube in many countries.]

This 152-page eBook catalogues the common, non-dual message shared by Sapolsky and Maharaj and reveals the ways that Sapolsky’s scientific research supports the non-dual pointers offered by Maharaj.

  IV.

In “PART ONE” it will be seen that most persons on the planet are not seeking, and most will never seek, but for those who are seeking, most will face several obstacles:

Often, many do not really know WHY they are seeking. Too, many who are asked WHAT they are seeking often offer no clear-cut answer beyond the standard talk about "Realization" or "Enlightenment." For those who have come this way and have a clear notions about why they are seeking and what they are seeking, many have not yet found anyone that has shown them exactly HOW to go about the process. The content in "Part One" offers some considerations about all three.

In “Part Two” of this book, it will be seen why many criticized Maharaj for “changing his message in his later talks.” It will be seen that the changes were not about changing the message per se as much as about changing his methodology as he experimented with one version of the Ultimate Medicine after another in order to try to find an effective means for addressing the Ultimate Sickness.

Maharaj’s loft was actually more of a laboratory in a loft in Bombay (now “Mumbai”) because he undertook in that loft many experiments in his efforts to find an effective form of the Ultimate Medicine that could treat the Ultimate Sickness effectively and successfully. In fact, he would eventually have three laboratories:

He first ran . . .

** a “Religion Laboratory,” then later

** a “Spirituality Laboratory” and eventually

** a “Psychology Laboratory.”

All three will be discussed in detail in "Part Two."

SECTION FIVE:
COMPARE YOUR "JOURNEY" AND SEE IF YOU'VE UNDERGONE ANY EVENTS THAT PARALLEL THOSE OF MAHARAJ AND FLOYD

The "experiences" of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj and Floyd share many parallel. Many visitors have said that they have also shared some of the same parallels. Can you relate to any of these?

1. Both grew up in very poor families

2. both moved to populated areas to seek employment opportunities

3. both exhibited business skills that led to their opening and operating many businesses and to their having a large number of employees working for them

4. both succeeded financially

5. both became attached to accumulating

6. both married and had a family

7. both initially tried to address the Ultimate Sickness with religious teachings but realized that did not work, so both tried to address the Ultimate Sickness with spirituality, only to see eventually that "being spiritual" did not cure the Ultimate Sickness either

8. both then realized that the main problems of humanity center in the mind so both turned to the sharing of psychology and scientific-and-fact-based pointers to free persons of the effects of programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, brainwashing and indoctrination

9. both had highly religious wives who were quite displeased with the shift away from religion

10. both had grown to feel empty in spite of all of their "spiritual seeking" and in spite of all of their accumulated "spiritual knowledge"

11. both began to de-accumulate after both saw that they could survive quite well on a fraction of the income they had been making

12. both had wives who were unhappy when the de-accumulation stage was entered and both had wives who became unhappy about their husbands' focus on non-duality and who blamed their unhappiness on no longer having a religious husband (and no longer having a husband who brought in huge sums of money)

13. both eventually came to see that the religious and spiritual states were also ego-states, and both saw that there are far more steps on the "path" to complete after reaching the religious and spiritual steps and after playing those roles which are the third of seven steps on the entire "path"

14. both "lost" their wives (one via "death," the other through divorce);

15. both accelerated their seeking

16. both entered into the "forest dweller stage"

17. both Realized

18. both began to de-accumulate even more

19. both began sharing the teachings

20. for years, both offered satsang

21. both saw that most who hear the teachings are still not going to understand

22. both, therefore, offered pointers without expectation, without attachment to outcome, and without any concern about the way that persons react to hearing Truth

23. both suggested that seekers focus on the exact, step-wise "path

24. both made the decision that whatever amount of the relative existence remains shall be spent in sharing the teachings in the way that has been seen to be the most effective method: not suggesting that there are not enough religious persons; not suggesting that the Ultimate Sickness is caused by being "spiritually-unfit"; but by seeing that the problem centers in the mind (which must come to an end, which it will the moment all beliefs are abandoned)

Looking back over the list of those that have truly received the understanding, it is seen that Robert R. read all of the books, then took the online Advaita course and then completed some face-to-face Skype sessions to receive the final clarifications required. It was seen that Mac read all of the books, completed the online course, and then attended a retreat where he was guided through the seven steps. Mac said that the online course work inspired him to attend the retreat in order to be able to receive the final "pieces." It was seen that Andy Gugar, Jr. read all of the books, then came here for a retreat and was taken through the seven steps in order, and then returned once more for the final clarifications required. After reviewing the shifts that happened with him after attending two retreats, he reaffirmed this past week his commitment to helping spread the non-duality, nisarga understanding as presented here.

"Sapolsky, Maharaj, and the Non-Dual Teachings"

Dr. Robert Maurice Sapolsky is an American neuroendocrinologist; a professor of biology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at Stanford University; a researcher; an author; and a Research Associate at the National Museums of Kenya.

He tried a religious version of the Medicine, a Spiritual version of the Medicine, and finally settled on a version which addressed to Sickness at its core . . . at the mental and emotional level.

V.
"THE MOST DANGEROUS BELIEF OF ALL"

“Dangerous” is a term that can only apply during the relative existence, but of those who do commit suicide, for example, how many shoot themselves in the foot over and over until they “bleed out”? None. They shoot themselves in the head. Why? In order to try to stop the noise - to try to stop the chatter of a thousand monkeys – to stop the noisy mind which is the area that stores the ideas, notions, concepts, mind-stuff, etc. which drives them into the depths of insanity.

And what are those ideas, notions, concepts, etc. called, collectively? "Their beliefs." The irony? They are not their beliefs at all. They are the beliefs of “others” that were set in place via programming, conditioning, etc. and which persons then think are their own.

And what are those beliefs rooted in, and what reinforces those beliefs and convinces persons that they are sacred and worth fighting over and even sometimes worth dying for? Blind faith.

This 337-page eBook discusses those issues in detail.
