TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS
Most humans have never heard of "the Ultimate Sickness" which was first discussed ages ago by certain sages that resided in the Far East, so if you were to ask most persons what "the Ultimate Sickness" is, they would likely answer in terms of the fatal sicknesses which have struck down their friends or family members over the years.
Thus, their answers might include "coronary artery disease, a stroke, COPD, lower respiratory infections, cancer, AIDS, diabetes, pre-term birth complications, and / or tuberculosis."
While some diseases linger and take years to develop before "taking the life of their victims," in other cases it can be a matter of only months or even a few weeks from the moment of diagnosis to "death."
Yet if one's relative existence extends for what the masses refer to as "the average length of a human lifetime," there will not be during that period any sickness which occurs for even a fraction of the numbers of years that people with the Ultimate Sickness will suffer.
For example, for persons with a relative existence which spanned 72 years, it is likely that they suffered the Ultimate Sickness during 66 or 67 of those years; for persons with a relative existence which spanned 75 years, it is likely that they suffered the Ultimate Sickness during 69 or 70 of those years; and for persons with a relative existence which spanned 80 years, it is likely that they suffered the Ultimate Sickness during 74 or 75 of those years.
Which has the "worst effect," relatively speaking? Coronary artery disease or a stroke or COPD or lower respiratory infections or cancer or AIDS or diabetes or pre-term birth complications or tuberculosis on one hand
or
the Ultimate Sickness on the other hand?
That consideration will be addressed during this series, but consider in the meantime Maharaj's take on that question: "From the animal’s point of view being killed is not the worst form of dying; [it is] surely preferable to sickness and senile decay."
Why are ninety percent of the years in a relative existence of an average length marked and marred by the Ultimate Sickness? Because in most cases on planet earth nowadays, the Ultimate Sickness has been passed down to all children by the time they reach the age of 5 or 6. By that time, they have usually developed a primary personality type as defined by the Enneagram as well as traces of the other eight types to one degree or another.
Therefore, by the age of six, most children are already showing evidence of a multiple personality disorder and are being driven by the hidden, subconscious agenda of a host of assigned and / or assumed personality identifications.
That comes after those children had already begun to identify with the body by the age of two to four and after the part of the brain called "the mind" has already developed and been filled with thousands of beliefs and concepts.
[A 6-year-old child in the U.S. typically has a 2,600 word expressive vocabulary (words which he or she says), and a 20,000 to 24,000 word receptive vocabulary (words he or she understands). And all 26,000 or so of those words involve concepts and beliefs which have already been stored in "the mind" by the age of six.]
So, by the age of 6, most children have already developed the Ultimate Sickness which is rooted in body and mind and personality identification and in the false concepts and distorted beliefs which come via false and distorted programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, brainwashing and indoctrination.
While one definition of "ultimate" refers to "final," the Eastern use of the word refers to another of the word's meanings, namely, "maximum."
The Ultimate Sickness is the maximum sickness. Why?
1. Because it's effects are both individuated and global.
2. And because of this:
While certain sicknesses have been epidemic throughout history (that is, having struck particular regions, such as happened with the "Black Death" / Bubonic Plague which may have resulted in 200 million deaths during the mid 1300's) the Ultimate Sickness is pandemic, that is, worldwide.
3. And because of this:
Have you or someone you know ever had an illness which stumped the medical community, rendering them unable to offer a prompt diagnosis or any diagnosis at all?
Imagine, then, if the case is that over seven billion people have an illness but do not have a clue what the illness is? Or more serious, imagine if seven billion people have an illness and do not even know that they are sick.
4. And because of this:
And imagine how widespread the consequences of that sickness are with seven billion persons on the planet having been rendered as clueless as greyhound racing dogs, turned into go-ers and do-ers and zoom-ers, running around in circles for an entire lifetime, endlessly chasing something that is totally fake and not worth chasing or catching at all?
What might be the effects of such widespread delusion and ignorance?
5. And because of this:
Under such conditions, how entrenched will the illness become? How widespread will it manifest and remain?
6. And because of this:
Imagine if the illness is a mental illness but most think that it is a "spiritual malady" or a sickness caused by people having been exposed to "too little dogma." How widespread would the results of that misdiagnosis be?
7. And because of this:
Imagine that people all around the planet were suffering from an illness which they believe - as billions have believed about disease over the ages - is caused by angry gods or devils. Imagine that the sufferers only pray for relief from the sickness rather than taking the actual steps needed to address their sickness? What are the odds of those type ever being cured? Nil, right?
Thus, for the hundreds who visit this site each day, let there be a discussion of the Ultimate Sickness and its causes, symptoms, aspects, and proper treatment. It might be that if hundreds understand the Sickness entirely, then they might share what they understand with a hundred more, and if that were to continue, then a small dent might be made in the number of persons who are suffering needlessly from a sickness which most do not presently even know they have.
To be continued.
Please enter into the silence of contemplation.
