TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS

[See the offer following this post for details on how you can watch a retreat on video which includes a detailed discussion of all seven of the steps on the path as used by Maharaj]

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "God," the "Son of God," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns. See the end of the post for the full meaning and implications of that.

REALIZING WITHOUT DOGMA, WITHOUT CONTINUOUS SPIRITUAL PRACTICES, AND WITHOUT A PREOCCUPATION WITH “THE NATURE OF REALITY AND THINGS NOUMENAL"
The rationale for realization: freedom from all forms of bondage, now

Yesterday:

What most humans have in common is a preoccupation with "the future" and with seeking an eternal payoff rather than abiding in the present Now.

[For many, the purpose of whatever is happening now is to enhance the ego and facilitate accumulation; for those looking beyond such childish motives, their supposed purpose is to dedicate every living moment now to paving the way to a better later.]

Also from yesterday:

Resurrections, an afterlife, reincarnations, etc.: an alternate perspective based in fact rather than in beliefs.

Maharaj:

and

Realizing in about understanding.

Maharaj: "The sole purpose of realization is to be freed from all learned ignorance"

and

"Understanding leads to freedom."

So "this deal" of ours, this non-dual understanding, is solely focused on removing persons from all forms of bondage and rendering them totally free, NOW.

There is a "new order devoted to bondage" which is arising in the U.S. and in other nations. Actually, it has long existed here.

There was a time when my grandmother's Cherokee ancestors were not free to live, much less free to live as they had lived.

There was a time when Africans were not free to live as they had lived but were captured and chained and loaded on ships and sent to the U.S. to be bound into the bondage of slavery. That continues to this day for many of their descendants.

Many who are gay or lesbian or trans are not free to walk the streets in safety, much less free to openly love whomever they love.

Many are not free to leave abusive spouses.

Many are not free to leave their jobs even though they are being abused verbally, mentally, emotionally, physically, sexually, etc.

Sometimes being free requires the understanding to come to those in bondage. Sometimes, being free requires the understanding to come to those who would control or enslave or bind other citizens, employees, spouses, or anyone else who is viewed as being lesser-than as a result of appearing to be different-from.

Whether the abused or the abusers, whether in bondage or holding others in bondage, it all centers in the mind:

Nothing generates as much bondage as the beliefs stored in the mind, especially the belief that the body and the mind and false identities can - in one form or another - survive mahasamadhi or "death" and exist eternally as one thing or another or as one person or another or with one god or another or as one god or another.

The impossibility of those beliefs can only be understood, however, if it is understood that nothing has ever been created and that all is merely cycling.

No parents have ever created a baby. Two persons ate plants and certain plant cells transformed into certain human cells. Elements cycled into elements. Eventually, per the Second Law of Thermodynamics, all that comes together will come apart.

And the elemental plant body and

the part of the brain called "the mind" therein and

the air circulating throughout the body and

the conscious-energy cycling into and out of the body

will eventually all go their separate ways at some point.

And once the parts of a composite unity go their separate ways and return to the universal pools from which they came in order to form a composite unity for a time, they cannot ever be rejoined to form what had only been temporary anyway.

What temporarily is - namely, the perceived "you" and "me" - cannot magically become permanent . . . in any form.

That which is temporary is always temporary and that which is permanent and real - energy / matter - shall always be the only thin  that is permanent.

Because all, generally speaking, is energy / matter and because neither energy nor matter can be created or destroyed, then there cannot possibly be any creator or creators or a Creator. There is merely cycling going on and the cycling happens spontaneously and automatically as well as in an uncontrolled and unguided fashion except as "governed" by the so-called laws of nature.

As the Ella Fitzgerald lyrics say,

Birds do it, bees do it, fleas do it, in Spain, the best upper sets do it, Lithuanians and Letts do it, the Dutch in old Amsterdam do it, the Fins do it, folks in Siam do it, Argentines without means do it, people say in Boston even beans do it, romantic sponges do it, oysters do it, clams do it, jellyfish do it, electric ells do it, English soles do it, and goldfish do it.

Also, many humans also do it. Most humans at some point go about the business of engaging in acts of friction which sometimes result in the meeting of sperm cells and egg cells (which were originally plant cells). Those acts trigger a series of other actions which result in the cycling of elements - not in the creation of elements. After that act of friction and the meeting of a sperm and egg cell, if the female continues to eat plant food or things which ate plant food for a period of nine months or so, then another composite unity might result.

And all of that happens spontaneously and automatically and in an uncontrolled and unguided fashion. No would-be "mother" has ever said to a mate, "Well, it going to be a very busy and very important day today, honey. I'm going to be creating our child's brain. Wish me luck."

So what point can the wise see by understanding all of that? The fact is that realizing - being free of ignorance and insanity - is only about a result right now. What happens post-mahasamadhi will happen spontaneously and automatically and in an uncontrolled and unguided fashion and will not matter in the least.

The fact that

(a) components from several different pools temporarily cycle (and come together) and

(b) form a temporary composite unity which will

(c) eventually come apart

is of no more consequence than quantities of H2O coming together and forming a temporary wave which rolls onto a shore and then rolls back out into the ocean from which it came.

That ocean water will evaporate; vapors will rise and condense into clouds; the clouds will move over the land and precipitation will fall in the form of rain, ice, snow, etc.; the water will fills stream and rivers and lakes and will eventually flow back into the oceans where evaporation starts the process anew.

Neither water nor ice nor rain nor snow is created in the process. Nor are rivers and streams and lakes created. Nothing is happening except constant cycling. So it is with humans, so wherefore all this pride and arrogance and sense of superioroity and identitifcation with some Self marked by "Supreme-ness"?

Realization, or the understanding, allow the relevant facts to be grasped, and when they are grasped, then 100% of the misguided motives of humans who are in bondage because they are focused on dreamed up and fictional resurrections or afterlifes or reincarnations or a Self or an Infinite Self or a Supreme Self, etc. can be freed and can enjoy whatever can be enjoyed at the only time that joy can be enjoyed and known, namely, right NOW.

Thus, realization has nothing to do about anything after now because there will be no "one" to be aware of anything after now

It's all about now, only

The invitation, therefore, is to see that and start dancing lightly, now.

To be continued.

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "God," the "Son of God," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places but are states of mind, nothing more than concepts dreamed up by men."
--Pope John Paul II

"There is no hell."
--Pope Francis, the current pope
[in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which are part of the Papal Magisterium]
