"The truth will set you free, but it’s really going to piss you off first.”
Some claim incorrectly that Buddha said, "Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” In fact, it’s a not-totally-accurate paraphrasing of certain pointers shared by certain monks over the ages which suggested that the discipline of a Tathagata [Buddha] can shine for all to see. The actual origin might be in some Buddhist pointer but is not likely to be an exact quote.
Might “the discipline” be obvious? To some, maybe. Might “the truth” be obvious? Almost to none. In fact, there is probably nothing in the history of the totality of the human experience that has been more avoided or hidden than . . . the truth.
Bill, who visits this site regularly, could probably write an entire treatise on the subject but that is not required for the points in today’s post to be made.
What is clear is that . . .
a. the human masses cannot differentiate between the true and the false;
b. the human masses do not know that they cannot differentiate between the true and the false;
c. the human masses, were they to recognize that fact, would still not seek the truth because
d. the human masses avoid the truth like the plague, and because
e. the truth is the last thing that most persons want to hear.
Beliefs regarding "VIP Personages / personages / personhood / personality identifications," at their very core, are lies, are deceptions, are falsehoods, are mirages, are illusions, and are fantasies.
Nevertheless, persons over the ages have dreamed up all sorts of personages - false, personal roles and self-identifications - as well as VIP Personages.
VIP Personages
"VIP Personages" dreamed up during the last 5000 years have included dozens and scores and even millions of dreamed up gods and goddesses or a god. And when word of those dreamed up VIP Personages were shared with their relatives and fiends (uh, I mean, friends) and the members of their communities - and when those false tales were eventually circulated all around the globe - there was either little or no questioning at all about the truthfulness or lack thereof regarding the claims that such VIP Personages existed and were real.
Some formed religions to worship those VIP Personages / Gods and Goddesses / Powers / Higher Powers etc. in order to gain some benefits or avoid some misfortunes.
One bunch came up with 33 million gods and goddesses or various permutations of some Super Being or Super Self or Super Reality.
Another bunch came up with 12 main gods and an overall total of 3142 other gods and goddesses if one counts their main gods and their principal deities and their host of other different gods and goddesses and demigods.
Another bunch later on came up with 20 main gods and 12 principal deities along with 67 different gods and goddesses in their pantheon along with plenty of additional demigods.
Generally speaking, those former gods can be grouped into three categories:
Creator gods
Sustainer gods
Destroyer gods.
Then a fellow supposedly named "Abraham" came along and said there are no gods and goddesses and, instead, there is only one God and he is of a male gender.
When the masses finally got on board with that notion, they still held their beliefs about the need to be in relationship with a God that took care of creating and sustaining and destroying, so they combined all of the former types of gods into one and came up with a total schizo God who will supposedly work with parents to create another human, who will supposedly answer prayers of pleading for what is needed to sustain them and their “new human,” but who can get really angry and is therefore willing to destroy and punish them for eternity.
Over the ages, trillions of persons believed - 100% and unquestioningly - in the hosts of gods and goddesses which are now seen by most to have been total myths, total figments of the imagination.
Post Abraham, though, most believers simply gave up their past beliefs about deities and got on board with "the one god notion." How many of their descendants are around now and what do they call themselves?
The members of "the religions of Abraham" make up the majority nowadays:
There are three religions of Abraham - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - and their numbers are as follows:
2.4 billion call themselves Christians;
1.8 billion call themselves Muslims;
and
6.5 million call themselves Jews.
In addition to the religions of Abraham, 1.15 billion call themselves Hindus.
That comes to about 6 billion persons who believe in a VIP Personage or in multiple VIP Personages who live in another world but who control everything that happens on earth.
Additionally, there are another 1.5 billion who are members of a variety of other religions.
Therefore, of the 7.7 billion humans presently on planet earth, 7.5 billion claim a religious affiliation and passionately and obsessively and fervently and ardently and overpoweringly believe in one or another VIP Personage or Personages.
Persons
If one who has reached the age of 30 were to reflect honestly and thoroughly, she or he would likely find at least 80 roles or personal identities which has been assigned or assumed and vigorously played and defended throughout the relative existence.
The number of personas assumed and believed in and played cannot come anywhere close to the number of Personages which have been believed in throughout the ages, but 80-120 assumed personas is a significant number nevertheless.
To inquire, “What would you say you are?” could trigger the compiling of a list which might include,
“a human,” “a spouse / partner / mate,” “a “parent,” “an employee,” “an employer,” “a neighbor,” “a Christian / Jews / Muslim / Hindu, etc.,” “a preacher / priest / imam / rabbi, etc.,” "a teacher,” “a Realized one,” “a spiritual one,” “ad infinitum, ad infinitum, ad infinitum,” “etc., etc., etc.,” “blah blah blah blah blah.”
And none of those or any other assumed persona would be the truth. Yet how many want to understand that truth?
If someone moans, “My wife left me. I’m not a husband anymore,” the last thing they want to hear is the truth, namely, “You never were a husband to begin with.”
Persons will defend their false identities, often to the death:
“You’re going to leave me?! The hell you are! I’ll kill you and myself both I let that happen!!”
When the two teens at Columbine were in the process of injuring 24 and killing 15 (including themselves) it is reported that three students were cornered. One was asked, “Do you believe in God?” When the answer “Yes” was given, that student was shot. The second was asked, “Do you believe in God?” When the answer “Yes” was given, that student was shot.
Then the third student, a girl, was asked, “Do you believe in God?” When the answer “Yes” was given, she was shot.
Really? After seeing the consequence of that "Yes" answer two times, someone is still going to go full speed ahead and give the same answer? Yet millions might have likely given the same fatal answer she gave. Who would not do that?
Any person not conditioned and programmed to hold dear their unquestioned belief in gods or a god. A wise person like that would have said when asked - thirdly - if she believed in god would have said:
"Who's that you're asking about? 'God,' you say? Sorry, never heard of him. Nope, couldn't possibly believe in him."
The girl’s pastor on the following Sunday stood in a pulpit and effusively lauded and praised and glorified that girl for her courage, for her steadfastness, for her devotion to her god and for her willingness to proclaim her faith even when all of the evidence suggested that to do so was going to get her a bullet in the head.
If one were trying to train a dog to go outside to take a dump, would that trainer – upon seeing that the dog just took another dadgum dump on the white carpet – approach the dog and pet it and exclaim, “Good dog! Good, sweet doggie!!! Here’s a biscuit treat for you!!!”
Would not a loving and wise pastor have advised the congregation, "Listen up, people, and listen good. Let's not let her death be in vain. If you're asked that question after seeing that an answer in the affirmative is going to get your ass shot, don't be stupid! Lie like a dog! We'll give you a mulligan the following Sunday!! Don't sweat it. So the only correct answer would be, Not only 'no' but 'HELL NO'!!"
Yet some will defend their assigned / assumed roles to the death.
“I am godly, and I’ll more than gladly die as I shout that truth from the mountaintop!”
BS. You died for telling what was a lie to start with. All is energy / matter, and neither can be created nor destroyed, so there is no "Creator" and there are no "creators." Your belief that there is a god and that you are godly is nothing more than a figment of someone’s imagination that became a figment of your imagination when you allowed someone to define who or what you are without having a clue about the reality behind that distortion.
What you are presently - and only temporarily - is a composite unity of plant food elements that is circulating air as well as many forms of energy, one of which is conscious-energy.
And to believe otherwise can hasten the return of those three parts to their sources: to the universal pool of elements, to the universal pool of air, and to the universal pool of conscious-energy.
As noted, 59% of all women killed annually in the U.S. die when they announce that they are going to leave their partner / spouse / mate, whatever.
So strong is the belief in a false identity (in their personages, in their personas) that they persons (persona-players) will die and / or kill to maintain their false identities.
But how persons hate it if someone comes along and says, “Calm down. She was never ‘Your Wife’ and you were never ‘Her Husband’ . . . those are just two of the hundreds of false personages that cultures in the past just made up and passed down to you . . . no more real than the ancient VIP Personages - the ancient gods and goddesses and the present God that billions believe in and worship and beg to - that were just made up and handed down to generations of offspring."
Yet those pointers to truth will be denied by the masses who prefer their lies to the shocking truth that they have been conned and duped throughout their entire relative existence.
To deny truth and to avoid truth and to try to escape truth and to dissociate from truth reveals the presence of the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness which Maharaj identified as "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity" and is to set the stage for the manifestation of dual-mindedness and chaos and even more insanity.
Tomorrow: More on denial which is considered one of the most primitive of the defense mechanisms because its use is characteristic of having fixated in an early childhood development stage and because it has long been one of the key sustainers of the beliefs in myths and falsehoods and distortions and delusions.

THE EXPLANATION
If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."
The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.
"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

concepts dreamed up by men."

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.
And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?
Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?
The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.
The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
