From a site visitor: Your book…From the I to the absolute…why not stay in the I?

F.: A question in response to your question: “Why stay in the I?” Indeed, neither matters, the “I” being completely relative as it is. Here’s an additional consideration as well: “Why stay in bondage during the relative existence, especially if you can walk free?”

Of those persons walking about on the planet, most would claim that they are free, yet they are not. They are trapped in the bondage of ego and thus experience all of the suffering and misery that comes with any delusion. Trapped in their egos and egotism, they experience thousands of slights each year, slights which leave them irritated or discontented or furious or maniacal or psychopathic.

The ego is the “I”—specifically, the false “I”—and trapped in the “I,” one cannot be further removed from knowing the Absolute or further removed from being at peace. The nine personality types—the most basic of all false “I’s”—are merely ego states. They are the false “I’s” that are assumed as identities and that force persons to live in the bondage of being driven, powerless to make choices while believing that they are choosing.

Type Ones can believe that they can reform the world when there is no world to be reformed.

Type Two’s will be obsessed with helping when there are no WHO’s to be helped and no do-ers to undertake that helping.

Type Three’s will create images and spend the entire manifestation trying to maintain their images.

Four’s will be frustrated in the search for Self that few will ever complete.

Five’s will be paralyzed with their entrapment in analysis.

Sixes will be imprisoned in their unquestioning loyalty to "the authorities" in their culture (especially big government, big religion, and big business, which are the generators and guardians of lies and programming and conditioning).

Seven’s will know no peace, trapped as they are in their constant efforts to escape.

Eights will never rest, trying to gain control and power.

Nine’s will never know Self so they will never know peace, constantly taking on the traits of the other eight types that they encounter (mirroring "others" in their effort to try to please everyone).

Such is the existence of personas that are imprisoned in their “minds,” that identify with the false “I,” and that fight to support their false identities. So again, why stay in the insanity and delusion of the “I”? Please enter the silence of contemplation.
