seven hours of satsang with floyd guiding seekers through all seven steps (in their exact order) to Realization. See details at the end of this post.
F.: The first post in this series offered two key pointers that will be discussed in more detail:
1. “And WHO erroneously believes that if only the world could be more spiritual or only if people would all become religious people, then 'the world's sorrows, poverty, hatred and wars' could be unabated.”
If that is your belief, know that the persons who invented and used the torture devices known “the Judas Cradle,” “the Inquisitor’s Chair,” “the Heretic’s Fork,” and “the Virgin of Nuremberg” were all self-proclaimed spiritual and religious people.
2. “The longer the pure consciousness witnesses personality—which is the driving force among the non-Realized—the clearer it becomes that personality is the bane of the relative existence….”
[#1 will be discussed today and then #2 will be explained later in the series]
The seven steps from identification with the false “I” to an understanding of the Absolute and to abidance as the natural state include a religious and/or spiritual step. The step cannot be omitted, but it can be mistaken for the “destination”…for the “end place on the journey.”
Ironically, that necessary step is also a detrimental step, especially when it is not transitioned. When the tibia and the fibula in the right leg were broken completely in two during an accident, along with several other bones throughout the body, the actions of several surgeons and the hospital staff caused as much damage as the original accident.
Yet all of their actions were required, though they were performed with equal degrees of finesse and ineptness. So it is with those who operate within the religious and spiritual arena and who suggest that their practices and pronouncements provide the ultimate answers and the ultimate awareness that so many are seeking.
Therefore, for those who think that the world needs to change and that spiritual and/or religious persons are the ones who should be in charge of that task, look at the record:
It was religious people who thought themselves to be very spiritual who invaded what they egocentrically called “The New World” and who used the concept of “Manifest Destiny” as their justification for killing 150,000,000 people in order to establish a godly, Christian nation.
It was religious people who thought themselves to be very spiritual who began the Spanish Inquisition to ferret out non-Christians via use of the instruments of torture that they invented.
It was religious people who thought themselves to be very spiritual who began a systematic process of trying to kill all of the Jews on the planet.
It was religious people who thought themselves to be very spiritual who carried out the attack on the Twin Towers in New York City on 9/11.
It was religious people who thought themselves to be very spiritual who used that attack as an excuse to begin a “shock and awe” war with a nation that had nothing to do with that attack and who killed and/or displaced millions of persons who had nothing to do with that attack.
Is all of the misery generated by the members of such groups now history? Are the examples only available on a national or international level? What of the minister in the church near this house who has displayed on the sign in front of his building this message during the current drought / heat wave: “If you think it’s hot here, just keep on sinning and see what temperatures await you for eternity.”
As the Advaitin teachings in regards to programming and conditioning show, if you want to mess people up now, torture them physically; if you want to mess them up for life, torture them mentally and emotionally.
If such is the goal, carry a child to that man and let him program into the child a belief in the dreamed up concept of an eternity in flames. No, the examples of such abuse and distortion and misery-generating teachings and actions are not relegated to the past but are happening in the present.
In fact, it has been religious people who thought themselves to be very spiritual who have historically caused more “sorrows, poverty, hatred and wars” on the planet than any other group.
Is it not possible that their history, as well as the current goals and practices of the members of all three of the dominant sky cults, must unequivocally preclude them from being the ones placed in charge of “changing the world and making it better”?
Whether persons are motivated by what they took to be their “former, bad personas” or by what they take to be their “new, good personas,” the fact is that they are being driven by illusions that have such self-serving agendas that a “take-no-prisoners” mentality emerges when they set about their task of “changing the world.”
If “the big names” in religious or spiritual or self-improvement movements in the past were not able to change the world for the better; and if “the big names” in religious or spiritual or self-improvement movements in the present are not changing the world for the better;
and if none of the words that have been read by trillions and that are now being read or heard by billions are leading people along “the path” to Realization (since those big name speakers and writers do not know the steps and cannot show the clear-cut steps required for completion of the “journey”);
then those who would encourage you to fixate at the third step of seven steps on the "path"—namely, religious or spiritual persons—will likewise never reveal for you the remainder of the steps required for completion of the entire “journey.”
Thus, it should be seen why the efforts of the seeking masses have availed them nothing and why Maharaj’s estimate of the small number of persons who might ever realize translates to about ½ of 1% of the population of the planet at any given time.
That need not be the case if seekers would but abandon their attachment to their newly-assumed “good roles”; if they would but see that the religious or spiritual roles they have assumed will—as is the case with all false roles—merely generate more false beliefs and ideas and concepts;
if they would but shift the focal point of their search away from those who talk about enlightenment and Realization; and if they would instead follow the pointers offered by the few guides that are illuminating the exact “path” to Realization and that are guiding seekers through the exact steps on the exact “path.”
It is only by following those exact steps that the “going back in reverse along the same path by which the coming in occurred" can ever happen.
Complete the "journey" and then "the world" that one would change will not just change but will dissolve away entirely instead. Complete the "journey" and an understanding of the difference in false, subject-object "love" as opposed to Real Love will also manifest. Please enter into the silence of contemplation. (To be continued)

What is one means by which seekers can receive such step-by-step guidance?
Now available for those who would attend
“The Advaitin Retreat / Four-Day Satsang with floyd” in order to be guided through all of the steps to Full Realization but who cannot do so for time or cost considerations:
Andy Gugar had attended some 10-12 hours of satsang with Floyd and determined at some point that the clear-cut, seven-step path to Realization as presented during the four-day retreats should be accessible to all that might be interested.
As a result of Andy’s vision and his willingness to pay for the necessary recording equipment, the entire retreat is now available via DVD’s or via a downloadable computer file version.
The downloadable file version is available to all and eliminates the expensive shipping costs, especially for international seekers. Currently, editing and production and duplication costs being as they are, only 25 sets of the DVD version are available.
Also as a result of Andy’s support, the first 25 DVD sets ordered will receive a complimentary copy of the “Spirit Journey to Your True Self” CD without charge.
The 4-Disk Video (DVD) Set, or the same retreat available as a downloadable file, provide an entire seven-hour retreat / series of satsang sessions showing three seekers being guided through all seven steps by Floyd and can provide viewers with an “experiential,” step-by-step series of satsang meetings that will move the viewers from
identification with the I
to
abidance as the Absolute
and then to
abidance as That Which Is beyond
Some seekers are already using the computer file version and the DVD sets for meetings in groups in homes, playing the retreat, pausing for discussion, etc.
