Here, there is nothing that is believed, so there is no one here who wants you to believe anything, either. Here, the invitation is to be free of all that you have been programmed, conditioned, acculturated, and domesticated to believe so that you can be free, period.
Furthermore, for those who have developed a preference for any non-nisargan yoga or who prefer Traditional Advaita Vedanta, Neo-Advaita, Neo-Vedanta, or Pseudo Advaita: here you will only find the use of the Direct Path Method of teaching along with the Nisarga (Natural) Yoga, all shared in simple, everyday English.
F.: After years of being taught a lie by their parents and by their culture at large, children hear at some point that the Santa Claus story is false; however, many children avoid confronting their parents for several years more, becoming willing participants in allowing a deception to continue out of a desire to gain something.
Similarly, Joe Jackson was an American baseball player who participated in a conspiracy to fix the World Series and who was eventually banned from playing baseball because of his part in the scandal. The story goes that, as Jackson was leaving the courthouse during the trial, a young boy begged of him, "Say it ain't so, Joe." Jackson walked on without responding.
Like young children who have an affinity for the lie (and often prefer it), adults also often refuse to confront obvious lies or myths and refuse to question what they are told by "their authorities" because - as with children extending the Santa Claus hoax or a child not wanting to face the facts about one of his heroes - they hope to gain something.
As a result, in their very childish manner, they refuse to seek facts or Truth; and even when the overriding evidence shows that their beliefs are lies (or when there is not a shred of evidence that their beliefs have any degree of truth to them at all) most will want to cling to their false beliefs with the same degree of emotional intoxication and baseless hope as the young child ignoring the facts about Santa Claus or the one wanting Joe Jackson to deny the truth already revealed by the facts.
So these are some of the types of comments that result from the childish mentality that drives adults when the "child-mind" becomes the "childish-adult-mind":
"His Holiness the Dalai Lama in not holy?! Say it ain't so, what you're saying, floyd. Tell me he's holy";
"The Holy Father in Rome is not holy?! Say it ain't so, what you're saying, floyd. Tell me he's holy";
"There is no such thing as the duality of holy vs. not holy? Say it ain't so, what you're saying, floyd. Tell me my mentor is holy so that I - being like my mentor - can believe that I am holy, too. Tell me my dualistic beliefs are true."
"My mate is not the most perfect person on the planet?! Say it ain't so, what you're saying, floyd. Tell me my spouse is everything I am imagining my spouse to be, and tell me I am right to believe that I can't live without that person."
"All of my knowledge and beliefs and ideas and concepts and values and attitudes are nonsense?! Say it ain't so, what you're saying, floyd. Tell me my beliefs are gospel truth."
That denial - the non-Realized's refusal to see the facts before her / his very eyes - is why the main problem with "relationships" is not that "love is blind"; the main problem is that "love is color blind," blocking persons from seeing the red flags that are being waved before their very eyes.
Why? Because they are being driven by the content of the "mind" to not see, to deny. And what is the driver? Personas or personas that would be. And what is the "residence" of all personas? Again, the bogus "mind."
"The Wife" will ignore the facts before her very eyes about a physical or mental or emotional abuser or about a wandering husband that is exposing her to the potentially-deadly diseases which he brings home from his rounds.
As for the personas that would be, "The One Who Would Be A Spouse" can ignore the words that say in so many ways, "I really have no intention of making a commitment with you" or "I am nothing like what you are imagining me to be." That one trying to bring another persona into fruition will instead distort by 180-degrees the words of warning that are being spoken.
While millions of species on the planet function under the auspices of a brain functioning with the manifest consciousness, none except humans develop a "mind" and false identities that result in such instability and chaos and misery and suffering. None, except for humans, will live out a relative existence that is blindly driven by images and mirages and smoke screens and glass.
None, save humans, are driven by the false content of their "minds" and are thus inspired to live in the mirror and to take what is being reflected as the real; to take form for substance; to willingly and unquestioningly accept lies and beliefs as fact instead of finding the actual Truth.
The result is a type of existence among the masses that is propelled along by learned ignorance instead of enlightenment. Such darkness is the toll of accepting the content of the "mind" as something that is true and valuable and necessary; such is the toll of functioning under the influence of blind faith rather than seeking the light-providing awareness of the facts of reality and the Truth of Reality.
Organisms around the globe all function via the manifest consciousness; most have a brain (though there is some debate about whether or not a single-cell amoeba has a brain or functions via the consciousness alone);
yet it is only humans that suffer the handicap of a "mind," the seat of all deception and distortion and mis-identification and misdirection among persons. Again, "a 'mind' is a terrible thing to waste"? No, a "mind" is a terrible waste, period.
It is in the "mind" where all dualistic - and therefore false - beliefs are stored; where the genesis of all sense of separateness and better-than-ness and duality is found; where all fighting and war take root; and where all of humankind's ignorance is stockpiled, ignorance of a degree that leaves the masses with no ability to even answer the most basic of all questions, "Who / What am I, really?"
