For more information, clickF.: It has been noted that "crazy cannot spot crazy." The insane do not know that they are insane, and they do not have a clue that what are they are thinking and saying and believing is evidence of their insanity.
(1) Recognizing that infants can begin the manifestation with brain damage or genetic brain defects and (2) setting aside certain theories about persons being "biologically insane," the general rule is that most of the insane persons on the planet were not "born crazy."
Insanity seldom has anything to do with "the whole brain" but is centered instead only in that part of the brain called "the mind" (which is initially "empty" but is soon filled with insane ideas, crazy concepts, and absurd beliefs).
Insanity, therefore, is transmitted for the most part from insane persons to other persons by exposing others to insane thoughts and ideas and concepts and beliefs that are widely-held in one's culture and in cultures around the globe.
After discussing the validity of "miracles" earlier, several questions / challenges were received. In response, some examples of events deemed to be "miracles" shall be offered for consideration with the invitation to sit in the quiet and consider whether the claims below are really evidence of miracles ... or not.
MANY SO-CALLED "MIRACLES" ARE CREDITED TO GOD OR TO GODS AND / OR GODDESSES:
April 2012: The mayor of Dallas, Texas declares that it was a miracle that no one was killed by the severe storm that passed through the city. In religious services following the storm, God was credited not with the miracle of diverting the storm but at least with having "miraculously saved lives."
May 2011: Mary Elizabeth Williams said that “[Oprah] Winfrey's entire empire is built on the idea that miracles—not just good fortune or persistence or community but honest-to-God miracles—are within our reach."
March 2011: The news media reported that many miracles occurred in Japan during and following an earthquake and tsunami because people were found alive in the rubble.
HOWEVER, SOME SO-CALLED "MIRACLES" ARE CREDITED TO HUMAN (OR FORMERLY-HUMAN) SOURCES:
December 2011: Following a football game between the Denver Broncos and the Chicago Bears, Jeff Neuman at RealClearSports listed five miracles that occurred during the game.
July 2011: Maria Esposito said that Pope Pius XII - the controversial World War II-era pope criticized for being pro-Nazi - is still influencing events happenings on planet earth, evidenced by the fact that he cured her cancer.
January 2011: The Vatican gave John Paul II credit for performing a miracle even after he had been buried within the bowels of St. Peter's Basilica when a nun said that she "prayed to him after he died and her Parkinson's disease vanished."
In the author's books regarding "BS" and "SPIRITUAL SOBRIETY," persons are quoted who claim that they have seen the miracle of the image of Jesus appearing in one instance on a burnt piece of toast and in another instance on a honey bun and, in two cases, in knots on the side of trees. The Virgin Mary has supposedly been seen, "miraculously," in the reflection on a plate glass window and on the wall of a highway underpass.
MIRACLES AND MENTAL ILLNESS
"Monomania" is a mental illness where persons are “limited in expression to one idea or area of thought” and are trapped in “excessive concentration on a single object or idea,” in this case, “god” or “gods and goddesses” or “the force” or “The Power” as the single cause of everything.
Once a religious or spiritual persona is adopted as a supposedly real identity, then mental illness sets in. Rather than understanding that the cause of all is all, “God” or “Gods” or the “God-force of the universe” or “the universe itself” are said to be the cause of everything.
So the Dalai Lama claimed that Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and destroyed the town because of the “negative karma” of the people there.
An Islamic leader claimed on the one-year anniversary of the fall of the Twin Towers in New York that Allah was the cause of the towers falling because if he had not wanted them to fall, then the mission by his fellow Muslims would not have succeeded.
The host of a Christian talk show in the U.S. also reported that it was God that let the towers fall, claiming it was His way of sending a message to non-Christians and liberated women and gays in the U.S. that he was displeased with them.
A news report featured a man saying that a child who was shot during a gang’s drive-by shooting died because “God works in mysterious ways.” A friend of the family was given city-wide coverage on the same newscast saying that “God needed a new little angel in Heaven.”
A woman called to report that she had been involved in a miracle when “God saved her life” because a man ran a red light but hit her in the front side of the car and that “if she’d been two seconds sooner his car would have hit her broadside and killed her.”
When a child was playing beside a flooding river during a rainstorm, fell in, and was eventually swept by the currents to the bank a mile downstream, her mother reported in a television interview that it was “the hand of God that pushed her to the side and saved her life." The news reporter then closed his report by saying that "this happy ending to what could have been a tragic event is indeed proof that miracles happen."
Being in touch with Reality is being totally sane. Being trapped by magical beliefs and supernatural thinking is being out of touch with Reality and is, therefore, being totally insane.
Such is the case when any personas are adopted as identities. Either persons function sanely and spontaneously in a nisarga (natural) fashion or they think and talk and behave insanely in an unnatural / supernatural fashion that is dominated by magical thinking.
