Today's Considerations
Here, there is little mention of the concept of “time”
except to differentiate between (A) the falsity of humankind’s dreamed up
timelines with their fictional beginning / birth / life / death concepts along with whatever else is believed to supposedly happen or supposedly be after “death” vs. (B)
the veracity of infinite cycling:
VS.
Maharaj said: “Your body is short of time, not you. Time and
space are in the mind only. You are not bound”
and
“Time is endless, though limited; eternity is in the split moment of the now. We miss it because the mind is ever shuttling between the past and the future. It will not stop to focus on the now.”
“Time is endless, though limited; eternity is in the split moment of the now. We miss it because the mind is ever shuttling between the past and the future. It will not stop to focus on the now.”
But he also said: “When you are given diamonds mixed with
gravel, you may either miss the diamonds or find them. It is the seeing that matters”
and “Instead of seeing things as imagined, learn to see them as they are. It is
like cleansing a mirror.”
Thus, the old vs. the new shall
be mentioned only to draw a sharp contrast between that which is true and that
which is false; to differentiate between “diamond-like pieces of wisdom" and “gravel-like
scraps of nonsense”; and to provide a tool for seekers to use to differentiate between the false vs. the true and diamonds vs. gravel. The simple rule of thumb is this:
The false is rooted in what is old.
The truth for each seeker is found only in what comes now, so it is always new.
Are new lies being told now? Yes.
Yet their roots are ancient, as ancient as olden beliefs about different from
and better than. “We must build a wall to protect us, to keep out those who are
not like us and who are intent on harming us” is not a new concept. It is as old
as the first group of humans who gave up being nomadic and developed agricultural
skills and were therefore able to settle in one locale. And all walls have been shown historically to be ineffective in the end because new ways to penetrate them always come into being, so that concept is just another distortion.
The false is as old as the myths
and superstitions which were dreamed up by ignorant humans who did not
understand the causes of natural events and thus dreamed up supernatural explanations as their causes. Both then and now, the ignorant masses function as followers and buy into the beliefs of their ignorant leaders who assign supernatural cause to natural (or unnatural) events:
Dalai Lama: “Hurricane Katrina
hit New Orleans because of the negative karma of the people there”
and
Robertson: The Twin Towers in New
York were knocked down because God is angry about "pagans, abortionists,
feminists, gays, and lesbians”
and
Falwell: The Twin Towers in New
York were knocked down because God is angry about “the pagans and the abortionists
and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians.”
So to test what you have been
told which was rooted in ancient beliefs or in pagan religions which evolved
into modern religions, check how old the beliefs are. Warped perspectives are
rooted in ancient beliefs and explanations, while only a new and different
perspective which comes to you now can point you away from nonsense and ignorance and insanity and eventually to the truth.
Lies from the past are passed
down for free, accumulated by persons with no effort on their part; Truth is only
arrived at now, and is reached via current considerations which are arrived at through some effort and which bring new awarenesses.
Misperceptions are rooted in old beliefs;
accurate perceptions are based in new awarenesses.
Misunderstandings are passed down
from one generation to another; understanding comes to those in each new generation
that seeks the truth and find it.
Lies are rooted, depending on one’s
“age,” in the last 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 or 60 or 70 years; truth is what comes only in
later understandings after all former beliefs have been questioned and discarded.
Distortions are ancient; clear
seeing manifests when more current awarenesses come.
Delusions and being fooled are
rooted in past instances of programming and conditioning and domestication and
acculturation and brainwashing and indoctrination; freedom from delusions and
foolishness come with present clarifications.
Yet whether one speaks of ancient
beliefs or new-found beliefs, one is still speaking of ancient nonsense. As
Maharaj said, “Reach a state of zero concepts” if you would be free, that is,
free of all misperceptions, distortions, delusions, foolishness, nonsense, misunderstandings,
misperceptions, and warped perspectives (a.k.a., “learned ignorance” or “beliefs”).
To be continued.
Please enter into the silence of contemplation.
