TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS

[Continued from yesterday]

So the next reasons that persons are willing to enter onto a "path" and then end up staying on it, or why persons begin a "journey" which never reaches the destination but continue on that "journey" anyway, or why persons accept a treatment plan which they are told offers no cure for what ails them but normalize that no-real-plan plan and stay with that ineffective treatment is because . . .

13. they believed it when they were told that humanity's problems are caused by the fact that people are not religious enough, not devoted enough, not faithful enough, and don't study enough the dogma and the content in their so-called "holy" scriptures; or

14. they believed it when they were told that humans have a "spirit"; they believed it when they were told that "a spirit can become sick"; they believed it when they were told that they have a "sick spirit" and that only conscious contact with God and God's mercy can heal that;

they believed it when persons told them that their problems are all caused by a "spiritual malady"; and because all of their seeking becomes focused on getting into a relationship with a conceptualized "Being" and thereby finding healing for something which has been dreamed up by persons and which does not exist (a "spirit" or "soul") and finding a treatment for a dreamed up malady that is making some dreamed up thing sick.

If persons believe that they have a non-existent thing inside their body and believe that it has become sick and believe that that non-existent thing has a sickness which does not exist, then those persons have taken hypochondria and delusion to a level far beyond a case of mild insanity, and there's the rub:

15. Persons who have been programmed, conditioned, etc. to believe the beliefs which others pass on to them, and accept those beliefs as true even though there is not one single fact to support those beliefs, are suffering from delusion and distortion and ignorance and one degree or another of insanity;

and it is those types of persons who will enter onto whatever "path" they are told to enter onto or who will engage in whatever "journey" they are told to engage in and who will stay on that "path" or will continue on that "journey" for as long as they live. Crazy! And . . . boring!

Imagine how long you would have to search for a cure if you believed it when someone told you that (a) inside every human's body is a "crockastuffus" which can become enlarged and then lead to all kinds of debilitating physical and mental complications and that (b) once your crockastuffus becomes diseased then there is no treatment on earth which can address that sickness and that (c) you will need to turn to some other-worldly power to get help for that sickness and that (d) you need to pray to that power and believe in it and have faith in it or it will not help you with your sickness, either.

Or what if your searching led you to some pedantic person who told you that there is a phrontisterion inside humans which can generate a phrontistes and it will make you sicker than you can even imagine and that you can only be well if you find that phrontistes and take the steps to remove it completely.

Well, in that case, your real problem would have been properly diagnosed but you will not understand your sickness and you will not know what steps to take to treat your sickness because of the complex, foreign words which were being used to identify the source of your problem (which is the source of all humans' problems).

So what if you said, "That's Greek to me. I don't understand. Could you explain it in simple terms in the language which I speak and read?" Maybe at that point you might be told . . .

"Oh, alright. Have it your way. Actually, it is Greek, and in the Greek language, a phrontisterion is "a thinking place" and a phrontistes is "a thinker." So the problem with all humans - once they have been programmed and conditioned and domesticated and acculturated and brainwashed and indoctrinated and pumped full of learned ignorance - is that they become "thinkers," driven by all of the nonsense in their minds;

and we know that the thoughts in the mind determine the words persons speak and that the words persons speak determine their actions, so if the stuff in the mind is nonsense, then the thoughts generated by the content of the mind will be nonsensical, and the words then spoken will be nonsensical and, therefore, persons actions will be nonsensical as well."

And you might ask, "Then why the hell didn't you just say that to start with?" If honest, the reply would be, "Because the cause of humankind's problems as explained to me was something other than the real cause, but I believed that it was the real cause so that's the cause that I now pass on to others, too."

So that takes the discussion to the next reasons:

16. Persons are not likely to find anyone who knows what the real sources of humanity's problems are.

17. Even if persons happen to find other persons who have some inkling about the sources of humanity's problems, they do not offer the solution in a plain and simple manner in a language which all can understand.

Then the next complication comes if one is told that the problems of humanity are centered in the mind and that "your mind is filled with lies and distortions and myths and superstitions and illusions and nonsense and ignorance and insane beliefs."

18. The problem then is that persons are so attached to the content of their minds, and so proud of all of their accumulated knowledge ("learned ignorance," per Maharaj), that they are highly offended to hear it when any of their beliefs are challenged.

Driven by the agendas of the assumed ego-states which are stored in their minds and by the egotism which is there to defend those false identities, they will be willing and ready to fight for their beliefs or even willing and ready to kill for their beliefs.

But to discard all of their beliefs? No way.

So, are most persons going to be willing to enter onto a "path" and then end up staying on it, or be willing to begin a "journey" which never reaches the destination, or be willing to accept a treatment plan which they are told up front actually offers no cure? You bet. Of course they will. Billions of persons do that each day and continue doing that every day.

What a freakin' mess, huh?

But there is a solution for many.

To be continued.

Please enter into the silence of contemplation.
