THE RATIONALE FOR THE NON-DUAL UNDERSTANDING, PART II

[Continued from yesterday]
Yet the instinctive drives for connection, which life-sustaining and life-enhancing elements of the relative existence can offer, can become interrupted on occasion, or disabled at times, or even rendered totally inoperative. Some will actually normalize separating and "breaking relationships."

For example, forty-seven years ago (while totally asleep and living under the influence of a broken picker), I connected with a woman who was just beginning to put together a long chain of marriages - in and out of eight so far, according to the latest report. As that connection was ending, her explanation was: "I have figured out that I like falling in love . . . I just don't like being in love."

The answer to the question I asked ("What in the hell is that supposed to mean, and when are you going to seek treatment for the insanity that came up with that idea?") has yet to be sought and found, evidently.

Many factors can lead to the interrupting or disabling of the natural drives for connection, and most of those factors either fall into the category of unnatural or supernatural. Other factors are rooted in ignorant belief systems and in the agendas of personalities / false identities / roles / etc. (all of which can be addressed by the non-dual understanding).

Some of the unnatural factors were mentioned earlier, namely:

1. The warped programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and brainwashing and indoctrination which inspire . . .

(a) an unnatural preference for separation, based in the notions of arrogance and superiority and different-from-ment (and therefore better-than-ment); and which can lead to belief systems (which are based in beliefs that are both unnatural and supernatural / religious) and which are based in such arbitrary factors as skin color; religious affiliation (or lack thereof); and based in . . .

(b) the denomination or sectarian sub-category of one's religion; political affiliation; sexual preference; economic status; state or region of one's domicile; the nation in which one abides (see "xenophobia"); the economic system preferred (capitalism, communism, socialism, etc.); ad infinitum

Some other factors which can lead to the interrupting or disabling of the natural drives for connection include:

2. Personality influences.

Of the nine basic personality types which are manifest in varying degrees in the mind of every human . . .

(a) a healthy Type Four can prefer the solitude but a psychically-unhealthy Type Four can become trapped in escapism and isolation;

(b) psychically-unhealthy Types Fives and Nines can become trapped in avoidance;

(c) psychically-unhealthy Type Sevens (prone to develop the Addictive Personality Disorder) can become trapped in escapism (see "Stephen Paddock" for a current example of that type), and if the Type Eight wing of the Type Seven is exerting its influence, then the addict can also become sociopathic and psychopathic (with Paddock also illustrating that scenario);

additionally,

(d) those with a high Type Six and Eight combination likely have attachment disorders;

and

(e) those with a high Type Six and high Type Four combination may well have the Borderline Personality Disorder which leads to a highly-unstable "hug-slug" / "I love you, no wait, I hate you" / "I want to be connected with you, no wait, I don't want to be connected to you" mentality.

In all of those cases, the hidden / subconscious fear-and-desire-based agendas of personalities can lead to the interrupting or disabling of the natural drives for connection.

Though the drives to connect with water sources, food sources, socialization sources, and sex sources are natural in their origins, they are still dualistic in their nature. They all involve an "A" wanting something from a "B" (or from a host of "C's" and "D's" and "E's" etc., etc., etc.) be those "et cetera's" a host of spouses or a host of "lovers" or a host of things being drunk or a host of things being eaten, or a host of houses or a host of bank accounts or a host of caretakers or a host of cars or a host of anything and everything which can be collected and accumulated and then attached to and hoarded.

At any rate,

when belief systems become dominated by the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness, (symptoms Maharaj identified as "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity");

and

when personality identifications bring along all of their subconscious agendas which generate insane thoughts and words and actions;

and

when ego-state assumption and the egotism which comes with those false identities generate a sense of being different from and better than others - based in totally arbitrary criteria -

then, as viewers of the first "Ghostbusters" movie were asked, "Who you gonna call?"

A few might call someone familiar with the non-dual-understanding, but most are going to call a divorce lawyer or a gun salesman or the leader of a white supremacist group or a neo-Nazi group or an Alt-Right group or some other separation-seeking hate group rather than ever try to grasp the Oneness.

So it is, and so it has long been, and so it is likely to remain.

To that end, the non-dual understanding can assist in also understanding this:

No one is going to "change the world." This understanding is about, as Maharaj said, realizing that "You are not in the world - that the world is in you" (meaning, "in your mind").

That fictional "world" is a result of programming, conditioning, etc.; a result of having been assigned and / or adopted false identities; a result of normalizing chaos and instability; a result of normalizing the false notions of "being better than others" and "being separate" and "being disconnected"; and a result of the totally insane belief systems which are passed down from one generation to the next.

If the non-dual understanding comes, then the natural drives can spontaneously do what the natural drives do, but the concepts of "connecting" or "disconnecting" in ways which are driven by unnatural and supernatural motivators will disappear as the sense of Oneness brings with it a sense of Real Love.

Then, one's life can flow as did Maharaj's, which he described this way:

"Wisdom tells me I am nothing, Love tells me I am everything, and between the two my life flows."

To be continued.
