CATARACT SURGERY AND REALIZATION
The use of a surgical procedure to remove cataracts which are blocking clear seeing and the use of the Ultimate Medicine (the realization process) to remove obstacles which are blocking the pure consciousness from seeing clearly share certain similarities:
1. Both are intended to allow humans to see clearly;
2. both are intended to address distorted views;
and
3. both are intended to allow humans to see things the way they truly are.
Over the years, as a part of the aging process, the vision of humans becomes less and less clear and less and less accurate and more and more cloudy instead.
The process happens so slowly that the loss of one's clear perspective barely registers in the consciousness. The same happens with the blockages which prevents the pure consciousness from seeing clearly.
In the case of the eye, a cataract is a clouding of the eye's natural lens, which lies behind the iris and the pupil. Cataracts are the most common cause of vision loss in people over age forty and is the principal cause of blindness on the planet.
In the case of the consciousness, a clouding of the originally-natural view is replaced by seeing things unnaturally or supernaturally / religiously / spiritually as a result of the mind having been warped.
The most common cause of the loss of humankind's ability to see clearly, resulting in the widespread blindness of the masses all around the globe, is the buildup of nonsense and hatred and anger in the mind, all a result of nonsensical and hatred-based and anger-based and arrogance-based programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and brainwashing and indoctrination.
A surgeon last week removed the cataract which was blocking my perspective and preventing me from seeing clearly.
Similarly, the one passing along the non-dual understanding offers a means by which the beliefs (which are blocking the perspectives of the masses and preventing them from seeing clearly) can be removed.
Now that one cataract has been removed, the past effects are even more obvious. As the right eye is beginning to see more clearly each day, the long-present but undetected distortions and warped views of looking through the left eye are more obvious.
The difference now is exactly like this:
The same differences in the way things were seen pre-realization were just as obvious post-realization as the prior distortions which were thought to be clear understandings were seen to be total distortions.
Maharaj said that realization has nothing to do with any lofty or noumenal or superior or elevated or noble or exalted knowledge or understanding but instead has everything to do with being freed of the learned ignorance which was taught to persons by previous generations who had been taught learned ignorance and who have continued to (erroneously) pass it down as truth and fact and wisdom.
Consider: no one has ever undergone a procedure to have cataracts implanted in order to block clear seeing, in order to prevent the seeing of truth, or in order to distort every view of everything being witnessed.
Humans, however, undergo that kind of debilitating and insane procedure every day: they undergo nonsensical programming, conditioning, etc., and - as a result of accepting the lies passed down to them by way of the most nonsensical, duality-based teachings - they believe that they are superior to "others" as a result of having different racial and economic and national and sexual traits which they think makes them different from and thus better than.
It would be no different from teaching persons that snow and puddles and rain and drizzle and rivers and lakes and oceans have absolutely nothing in common and that it should be clear that they are all very different because of their different appearances and manifestations.
While most on the planet have not been around long enough to need to undergo a cataract procedure in order to remove the garbage which lies behind the iris and the pupil in order to see clearly, but most have been around long enough that they now need to undergo the realization process in order to remove the garbage in their minds which is blocking the consciousness from seeing clearly.

THE EXPLANATION
If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."
The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.
"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
