non-duality, non-duality-based fictional adventures, recovery, financial sanity, financial planning, and more.
The quotations from Maharaj being shared in this series are excerpted from the book QUOTATIONS AND POINTERS dealing with NON-DUALITY, ADVAITA, NISARGA YOGA and more.
The quotations and pointers from Maharaj being offered during the next few days will be arranged by category and subject matter. The quotes offered today will deal with:
"THE 'JOURNEY'" and "MARKERS ALONG 'THE PATH'" and "ACCEPTING ONLY WISDOM-BASED GUIDANCE"
"THE 'JOURNEY'"
" . . . You should go back, reverse, to the source.”
“Follow the same path by which you came.”
"Only that person will visit this place whose virtue and sin have come to an end."
"There is no question of elevating to a higher level. Here it is only a question of understanding."
"This is the place where the intellect gets annihilated."
"There is no creation so there is no 'Creator'"
and
"God did not create man; man dreamed up God(s)"
and
" . . . You have invented a God."
[Thus, because there is no "heaven" - or anywhere else where 'a Creator' supposedly lives - "the journey" has nothing to do with "trying to get to Heaven, to Valhalla, to Paradise, to Nirvana, or "being reincarnated into a higher form" and has nothing to do with avoiding "Hell," "being reincarnated into a lower form," etc. "The journey" has everything to do with "being freed of all learned ignorance."]
"MARKERS ALONG 'THE PATH'"
"If you are not, can 'others' be . . . ?"
"Both the mantra and the faith in the mantra will get dissolved."
"There is no progress."
"Both experience and experiencer will disappear."
"There are so many who take the dawn for the noon, a momentary experience for full realisation . . . . "
"First of all you identify something as being good or bad for yourself. Then, in an effort to acquire good or to get rid of the bad, you have invented a God. Then you worship such a God and . . . you pray to that God for something good to happen to you."
“I am stabilized. There is no going into samadhi, or coming down from samadhi. That is over.”
“When you are thoroughly knowledgeable, you will come to the conclusion that this beingness is also an illusion.”
“The nearer you get to the truth, the more you lose interest in worldly affairs. Such a one will not have any interest in the world, but will act like an ordinary person.”
"Those who come here with the idea of getting knowledge, even spiritual knowledge, come here as individuals aspiring to get something; that is the real difficulty. The seeker must disappear."
“You have some experiences and you try to benefit from them, but remember that whatever is going to be of use to you ultimately is going to harm you. Wherever there is use, there is also dis-use in this world of duality. Whatever you like is going to create harm for you. Whatever you like most is, in the end, going to be most harmful for you.”
“Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false.”
"ACCEPTING ONLY WISDOM-BASED GUIDANCE"
"If you seek with the big name teachers, you will get what you deserve" [or, as expressed here, "you will never get what you seek"].
"You, with your wisdom, are stuck here; you are sticking to certain concepts. If you had no concepts, why should you come here? You study only those concepts which arise from within you. Those concepts which you do not like will not occur to you."
"Do not consult others about the advice I have given to them. Abide in what I have told only you. Kill the curiosity to know what others are told; to each seeker the appropriate advice is given."
"The effect of these talks is that you will stabilize in the very source from which the words sprout. Abiding in the dynamic, manifest consciousness is abiding in the words of the Guru. The meaning of the mantra I have given you is that you are the manifest, dynamic principle, not the body. When you abide in that, you become that."
“I have no faith in anything which has ever been told, not even what has been told by the Vedas. Only my own experience.”
"Consciousness opens the gate for you to transcend consciousness. There are two aspects; one is conceptual, dynamic consciousness which is full of concepts, and the other is transcendent consciousness. Even the concept 'I Am' is not there. Conceptual, qualitative Brahman, the one that is full of concepts and is qualitative, is the outcome of the functioning body."
“Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false.”
"Those who know only scriptures know nothing."
"In the course of your study of spirituality, you have acquired many concepts and you call that 'knowledge'. Throw out your concepts."
"Whatever you think of as 'spiritual knowledge' was gained in the realm of consciousness; such knowledge is merely a burden upon your head and it is going to add more misery. It is nothing more than spiritual jargon."
"Spiritual knowledge should not be studied."
Because we're looking at non-duality pointers but also being alert to duality-based thoughts and words and actions, consider again this pointer from Maharaj:
"If you are not, can 'others' be . . . ?"
It has been noted that a major contributor to arrogance and hatred is the prevalence among the masses of the concept of "the other."
If early humans were settled on the veldt and "others" approached who were interested in a group's hunting or foraging territory or in their makeshift housing or in their water source or in their tools and clothing and possessions or in their women, those "others" may have triggered emotions such as fright and then defensiveness and anger and even hatred.
There have been exceptions. When the first Europeans arrived in what would eventually be called "America," the indigenous peoples had no concept or vocabulary involving the concept of "the other" or "others," so they welcomed the white-skinned travelers in spite of the fact that they "looked different."
The native population taught the newcomers how to grow crops in a sometimes hostile, Northeast environment; how to hunt and how to use all of the parts of a deer to provide food; how to make clothes out of available materials; how to make furniture; how to make tools, etc. They taught them which berries were edible and which berries were poisonous.
They gave them the survival skills needed to make it though the first winter and into spring. And what did the Europeans do after all that? They enslaved the young males, killed the remaining native inhabitants, and stole everything they had.
Then, they introduced for the first time on this continent the concepts of "colonizing" and "xenophobia" and "different from" and "better than" and "the other" and "eugenics" and "the superior race" and "white supremacy" and "the one true religion" and "conquest" and "genocide" and "plundering and pillaging" and "killing and destruction for the sake of killing and destroying."
[And all of that now makes up the "political platform" and the duality-based belief systems being promulgated by one national political party in particular in the U.S.]
The non-dual seekers that become "fully realized" (that is, per Maharaj, become "totally freed of all belief in learned ignorance") will be equally tuned in to talk about the Oneness while also remaining alert to talk about "the other," and they will accept the messages of Oneness when the pure, universal consciousness speaks while readily rejecting all messages about "separation" and "different-from-ment" and "better-than-ment" and "the other" and while also moving away from the carriers of messages rooted in the Sickness.
If you live for several decades and then reflect, you may see what came to be seen here:
If you accept it, unimaginable levels of misery and suffering can be generated - relatively speaking - by those who think they are far better than they really are and who decide that you are far worst than you really are.
Maharaj shall have the last non-dual words on the subject matter of today's post:
M.: "You are not different from 'others'."
To be continued.

THE EXPLANATION
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"
and
"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
and
"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
"There is no hell."
