and a
"Proper Perspective"

[Continued from yesterday]:
Former Republican U.S. President Ronald Reagan shared his perspective about that invasion and genocide this way in June of 1952: "I, in my own mind, have always thought of America as a place in the divine scheme of things that was set aside as a promised land.”
And there’s the rub: that belief came from “his own mind,” the same mind that came up with a statement in 1980 using a Biblical allusion to describe “American values”:
“I believe [there's that distortion-signaling term again] that Americans are every bit as committed to that vision of ‘a shining city on a hill’ as were those long ago settlers.”
See? Perspective: Just “settlers,” not “slaughtering invaders.”
That spin is quite similar to one set forth by those currently affiliated with Reagan’s political party who are presently warping the truth about the human slave trade by including in current Texas school textbooks a passage that has recast “slaves” as “workers.”
See? Sneaky little users of word deceptions to hide and confound their real agenda, huh? Yet the wise understand that warped perspectives always warp facts and truth.
Thus, these are some other examples of commonplace warped perspectives:
“Let’s invade that land across the ocean to the west and kill 98% of the
‘Indian Natives’ there and take 99% of their land and let’s say we’re going to
kill the millions of people already living there because they are heathens and
because we are building ‘a Christian nation for God!’”
“OKAY!!!”
“Lets’ have a religious inquisition run especially by English, Spanish, and
French Christians who were inspired by the financial success enjoyed by Portuguese
slave traders. In the ‘New World,’ we’ll kill in the name of God all those irreligious,
ungodly indigenous peoples who are not behaving as we want them to! It will
require us to conduct a North, Central and South American Holocaust to kill off 150 million of those indigenous peoples to get total
control of the lands. That's a small price to pay to have access to, and total control of, the resources there.”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s round up Africans and ship
them to that ‘New World’ in order to provide a free labor force in order for
the businesses there to maximize profits!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s create a three-legged enslavement journey called ‘The Triangular Trade’ by which British enslavers sail from the U.K. to West Africa and exchange brandy and guns and other trade items for African slaves who will eventually number 12,000,000 total; then we’ll take them on ‘the Middle Passage’ to be sold in the West Indies and North America. We’ll allow for the fact that our overhead costs will include the 2,000,000 Africans who die on the trip across the Atlantic (understanding that their deaths really amount to ‘quality control’ since the weak ones will not sell for much money, anyway); and then once the Africans are unloaded, we’ll bring back a cargo of rum, sugar, and other raw goods to be sold in the U.K. Also, during the 17th-19th century, we’ll let the Dutch join in on the action and we’ll generate even greater profits for us and for the Dutch as well.”
“Let’s invade all of the nations surrounding Germany and gather up all of the
Jews as well as the mentally-and-physically handicapped and the homosexuals
and the deformed and send them all off to concentration camps and gas them or
work and starve them to death!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade Vietnam!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade Grenada!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade Nicaragua!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade El Salvador!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade Iraq!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s tell the Iraqis that subdividing a country is totally unacceptable and
that we will never allow them to re-divide their country into the three regions
/ states that existed before the British invaders re-drew their national map
and created the present boundary lines for Iraq!”
“OKAY!!!”
“But while we tell them that it’s not acceptable to subdivide a country into
parts, let’s ignore the fact that we in the U.S. have subdivided our country
into fifty states!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade Afghanistan!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade Iraq again!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade Syria!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade the nation of Georgia!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s invade Ukraine!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s drink the poisonous Kool-Aid!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let's teach those in our Christian churches that we drink the real blood and eat the real body of Christ. Let’s drink it and eat it because that will
let us commune with God and because it will please God and because it will make
us closer to Him, and let's ignore the fact that we're recommending to the
membership of our churches to practice both vampirism and cannibalism!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s go on a pilgrimage in the Far East where the chances are great that
we’ll be killed in a human stampede!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s tell the membership of our religions that God loves them
unconditionally!”
“OKAY!!!”
“But let’s also tell them that he is willing to burn them in hell forever
if they displease him!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Similarly, let’s tell our children that the reason we whip them and even beat
them is also because we love them!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s abuse anyone who is a member of a minority, and let’s do that all around
the globe!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s kill all who are not members of our religious sect!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s mock Muslims for separating their religion into 2 competing sects while
we separate our Christian religion into 41,000 different denominations!”
“OKAY!!!”
“Let’s be like sheep that are followers and are willing to be led off a cliff!”
“OKAY!!!”
Sheep follow the leader, even if the leader jumps to its death off a cliff. The “non-realized” – trapped into being controlled by their hand-me-down warped perspectives - are just as capable of doing the same.
And those controlled by the warped perspectives which their religious and political and business leaders hand down to them will always willingly and happily drink one or more versions of poisoned Kool-Aid which those three types of leaders encourage them to drink (or, more recently, will drink the poisonous Clorox which their preferred political leader recommended as a treatment for the Covid-19 virus).
