IN TERMS OF “REALIZATION” AS A NON-DUAL PROCESS, THE MATH AIN’T MATHING

Recently, Taraji P. Henson, an actress in the U.S., was being interviewed and was asked if there was any truth to the reports that she might be planning to end her acting career.

After pausing and speaking through tears, she addressed an age-old issue which women face in the U.S. and around the globe: pay disparity.

Of that disparity, she said (whimsically) that “the math ain’t mathing.”

“The term is slang, and has often been used comically in discussions about what are often far from comical topics.

HiNation” explains the term this way:

“Mathing” is not technically a word, and it is not normally a verb either. But it is playing with the words and using the repetition to reinforce what they are saying.

It is saying that the math is not working properly. So the math is not doing what math should do: it is not correct, it is not behaving properly. If math had one job it should do, that would be “mathing”, but right now it is not “mathing”, so it is just broken.

So in a humorous way, it is saying that something about the math is not working correctly, it is not cooperating, it is broken right now. And it might just be because someone made a mistake in a math problem. Or maybe because they need to study math and their brain is too tired so nothing is working, but for some reason, the math is broken and not working properly.

The same applies to the many methods used in presenting non-dual pointers which supposedly provide an approach for realizing, beginning with “The Direct Path Method” and including “The Traditional Advaita Method,” “The Neo-Vedanta Method,” “The Neo-Advaitin Method,” “The Pseudo-Non-Dual Method” and the hundreds upon hundreds of subsets which are presenting a counterfeit message.

How to spot those counterfeit versions? That may be a near-impossible undertaking since most seekers don’t even understand the difference in the first five methods identified above, much less the hundreds or thousands of bogus subsets.

As always, the point here is that (to use the words of the realized non-dualist William Shakespeare), “the readiness is all.”

The Catch-22? One must have reached some degree of an ability to differentiate between the true and the false in order to attain the “ultimate” non-dual understanding which allows humans to differentiate between the true and the false.

It’s a bit like sourdough bread: you need some sourdough to make authentic sourdough.

The rub? In terms of the hundreds and possibly thousands of methods used to pass along what is supposedly a valid version of the non-dual message, the math ain’t mathing.

Meaning? No matter what method of seeking persons might use, be it one of the 4,000 recognized “faiths”; be it one of the many so-called “spiritual” methods; be it one of the many philosophical constructs;be it one of the many ideological constructs;

be it one of the 4 or 5 popular methods mentioned about; or be it one of the hundreds or thousands of subsets of those, most believe that they are to use addition to solve humankind’s relative problems rather than subtraction.

The most widespread messages are, “You need to learn more dogma; you need to attend more worship services; you need to study our holy book more; you need to understand more that we’ve added to those holy books, additions which are explained in our sacred writings;

you need to add more praying to your daily life; you need to give more gifts of service and money to the organized religion you’re a part of; and / or you need to “get more close to God.” Are you listening, dammit?! GET MORE! GET MORE!! GET MORE!!!

Interesting that Jewish leaders for over 4,000 years have been promising Jewish followers that God would offer protection and land to Abraham and his descendants if (add on) they follow the path of God.

Evidently that promise has still not been delivered from 18 centuries before Christ, through the Holocaust, and right up to about 2-and-a half-months ago.

As for Christianity’s promises for over 2,000 years, they have been promising that God shall supply your every need; that his children shall not be overtaken with temptation; that all things will be seen to work together for the good of those who love God faithfully; and that all shall have eternal life.

The same kinds of promises are offered by all religions and spiritual movements. They prove that religious people are seemingly the most patient of all because they have waited for thousands of years to get what they were promised without getting it.

How long is long enough for religious people before they finally question the broken promises made to them? 

Evidently, forever. That's the case once they have been programmed to never question anything which they have been told by their leaders under the threat of being miserable now and being punished eternally if they question anything.

If followers become impatient, they are reminded that it’s their fault that the promises have not been fulfilled. Obviously their math ain’t mathing, maybe because they did not add all of the “mores” which they were supposed to add.

Only the third version of Maharaj’s message regarding the Ultimate Medicine (the psychological version he turned to after he saw that his first two methods of adding dogma and adding spiritually did not work to treat the Ultimate Sickness) focused singularly not on getting more but on getting rid of all . . . on subtraction rather than on addition.

How rare that approach is among those involved with “leading seekers.”

Again, Maharaj said to seekers that they should not come to his loft seeking to get anything because he’s going about the business of getting rid of all. He’s mathing by subtracting, not by adding.

He said:

“Whatever spiritual things you aspire to know are all happening in this objective world, in the illusion. All this is happening in the objective world. All is dishonesty. There is no truth in this fraud.”

“After the information given to you by the mother, that you are a boy or girl, all your further acquisitions are by hearsay.”

“Only that person will visit this place whose virtue and sin have come to an end.”

“There is no question of elevating to a higher level. Here it is only a question of understanding.”

“Both the mantra and the faith in the mantra will get dissolved.”

“There is no progress.”

“You have some experiences and you try to benefit from them, but remember that whatever is going to be of use to you ultimately is going to harm you. Wherever there is use, there is also dis-use in this world of duality. Whatever you like is going to create harm for you. Whatever you like most is, in the end, going to be most harmful for you.”

“Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false.”

“When the birth is disproved, the great noble meaning of spirituality and the meaning of this world - everything - is disproved.”

“I have no faith in anything which has ever been told, not even what has been told by the Vedas. Only my own experience.”

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the 'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you." 

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and 

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."

--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and 

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places

but are states of mind, nothing more than

concepts dreamed up by men."

--Pope John Paul II 

"There is no hell."

--Pope Francis, the current pope

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
