THE CURSE OF HUMANKINDS’ RELATIVE EXISTENCE: IDENTIFICATIONS

Duality-Based Problems / Non-Duality Based Solutions
If the body has a problem, it may result in enough pain or suffering to inspire people to seek diagnosis and treatment. At that point, persons might visit their GP and / or seek a specialist.
If the mind has a problem, it may result in enough chaos and misery and relative issues to inspired people to seek diagnosis and treatment. At that point, persons might visit a religious leader or a spiritual person or group; the wiser might visit a psychotherapist, a psychologist, or a psychiatrist (but only if they believe that prescriptions can correct their mind problems).
If personality disorders are causing problems, most will not be aware enough to realize that is the root of their problem(s), so most will not seek specialized guides to diagnose and treat such issues.
Most will spend their entire relative existence from cradle to grave or to pyre or to crematorium without ever hearing the terms "duality" or "non-duality."
Christians, meanwhile, haven't the slightest clue that their prophet during his later years was offering a non-dual message and non-dual pointers.
And should persons hear a realized guide share the fact that the source of most human misery and suffering is "the Ultimate Sickness" and that the key symptoms of the Sickness are "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity" (Maharaj) they will likely be so offended that they will leave and never come back.
Many have left the loft in anger after hearing that, as have many who left my home or the venues when I offered satsang, because their egotism left them with hearing problems or rendered them totally deaf to the truth.
They did not hear Maharaj's words when he said that most humans are driven by "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity." They thought they heard someone say that they were ignorant and stupid and insane. Maharaj never said that. There's a major difference, yes?
If one has suffered from diarrhea for six months and no one has properly diagnosed the cause of that problem, but then finally a doctor says,
"I've tested you and found that your problem is being caused by the presence of polyps growing inside you and which are creating blockages in your colon,"
in that case egotism will not be triggered when they hear someone finally tell them the truth about a defect and then offer a treatment plan.
But speak of being driven by the mind and the hidden agendas of the false personality identities stored therein and the ignorance, stupidity, and insanity which are at play therein, well then, all hell will often break loose.
"Polyps? Huh. Well, maybe so."
"Ignorance, stupidity, and insanity? Hey, screw up! Go to hell!"
Review the various types of ignorance. Humans understand so little about that. Maharaj spoke of "learned ignorance," also known as "taught ignorance." Taught how? In the most cunning ways imaginable, including the use of programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, brainwashing, and indoctrination.
Those methods allow for the passing along of false, hand-me-down, generational beliefs.
Then there's the opt-in ignorance where people have an inkling that someone is lying to them but go along with that person's false, hand-me-down, generational beliefs or current political claims to get a payoff. Be it Santa, God, some special prophet . . . whatever. I want the "perks" of those beliefs.
Such opt-in-ignorance-driven become motives which allow for stupidity and insanity to eventually take hold to one degree or another and then - over time - to degrees which increase radically.
Egotism is one of the regularly-used ego-defense-mechanisms / mind tools which work alongside false personality identifications to convince self and others that all of one's false ego-states are real and that the now "upgraded version" of those ego-states are real as well.
"I'm not just 'Dad.' I'm 'Super Dad'."
"I'm not just 'The Wife.' I'm 'The Super Wife'."
Oh really? So that's your belief? Might getting a second opinion about that assessment reveal the actual truth? Just a suggestion.
Another suggestion: You're not likely to be run away from a doctor who says you have defect "A" or defect "B" which needs treatment;
therefore, don't be offended and run away from one explaining that the masses on the planet are driven - usually subconsciously - by body identification and warped mind identification and bogus personal (and supposedly Personal) identifications.
Again, just a suggestion.
