THE CURSE OF HUMANKINDS’ RELATIVE EXISTENCE: IDENTIFICATIONS
“The personality is but a product of imagination. ‘The self’ is the victim of this imagination. It is the taking of yourself to be what you are not that binds you. The person cannot be said to exist on its own rights; it is ‘the self’ that believes there is a person and is conscious of being it.”
“Beyond the self lies the unmanifested, the causeless cause of everything. Even to talk of ‘re-uniting the person with the self’ is not right, because there is no person, only a mental picture given a false reality by conviction. Nothing was divided and there is nothing to unite.”

(To review some key points so far)
So here’s the deal with humanity which causes all of their problems:
They are driven by two basic motives: (1) desires and (2) fears.
And what is the root of all desires and all fears? The hidden, subconscious agendas of ego-states, assigned and assumed false identities and false “Identities.”
So ego-states (personas, false personality identifications, false roles, false selves, false Selves, etc.) each have a basic desire and a basic fear which functions most of the time at an unconscious or subconscious level and which determine all thoughts and words and actions.
That is why humans are so self-contradictory: their thoughts and words and actions are being driven by a host of false selves / false Selves which have agendas which are totally at odds with each other.
Picture an “angel” on one shoulder whispering into one ear and a “devil” on the other shoulder whispering into the opposite ear. What one is “for,” the other is “against,” and vice-versa.
Those words go into one ear or the other but end up being stored in the exact same place - the mind - which becomes the seat of duality because it unconsciously welcomes and unquestioningly accepts totally contrary beliefs and agendas.
The contents stored in the mind part of the brain then allow such opposites and contradictions and inconsistencies and ambiguities and conflicting concepts to coexist and to both have equal influence over everything that is thought and said and done.
Talk about dual-mindedness. Talk about instability. Talk about insanity. Understanding that should make clear what Yeshu’a (erroneously, “Jesus”) meant when he said, “A dual-minded person is unstable in all ways.”
Once he broke away from organized religion and crosses paths with some non-dualists, he became one of the earlier psychologists / therapists / mental health counselors in human history.
As for false personality identifications which generate dual-mindedness, consider:
Ships which function effectively have one captain, not two, but the human mind most assuredly has two captains that never agree on anything.
Thus, once Yeshu’a was introduced to the non-dual understanding and offered the pointer that “A dual-minded person is unstable in all ways,” he did not finish the complete point and say,
“All but a few of you are trapped in such dual-mindedness, resulting in the masses being totally unstable;
and being totally drawn to chaos; and being totally accepting of all of the nonsense taught via programming, conditioning, etc., which inspires you to believe in false identities;
which inspires you to believe in false selves; and which inspires some of you later on to arrogantly upgrade your false self identities to false Self Identities; and which - thereafter - sets you up to be driven by arrogance and ignorance and insanity throughout the remainder of the manifestation.”
And it all starts with being told as a child that “you are this” and “you are that” and those early assignments of false identities are added to throughout the entire relative existence as persons are driven to assume more and more such false identifications, often clinging to and protecting and being willing to fight for or even die for 60 to 80 false selves at any given time.
Throughout their adulthoods, most will allow the Big Three Liars - (a) Big Government, (b) Big Business, and (c) Big Religion / Big Spiritual Movements to assign even more (and supposedly even “better”) false roles.
The primary tools which come with each assigned or assumed ego-state or role include egotism, arrogance, conceit, haughtiness, superiority, and pride, and those inspire the upgrading of false identities.
“The Wife” was fine with “Her Husband,” but when she self-upgraded to “The Super Wife,” then she required a different codependent, counterpart role player, namely “A Super Husband” to allow the upgraded lie of “The Super Wife” to continue.
Seeing that “Her Husband” is anything but “A Super Husband,” she will be driven to leave him and remain single unless a series of hidden agendas (including desires and fears) inspire her to find another man who seems to have all of the requirements to be “The Super Husband” which her Super status deserves.
The same is true with husbands who upgrade.
A huge percentage of the humans on the planet claim a religious affiliation, and millions more claim a variety of Spiritual Identities as even more arrogance-based upgrading takes place. The result: all sorts of “Noumenal-based Roles / Selves” replace the phenomenally-based roles which had been played in the past.
The roles of “The Super Religious One” and / or “The Spiritual Giant” are assigned and assumed and whole new levels of egotism and arrogance come into being as those and other ego-defense mechanisms are used to defend and support false identities and False Identities.
Thus came this:
A wife told me that after her husband entered into a self-help program to address his alcoholism, a “Super Saint” emerged a year later out of that Twelve Step Chute. She said that the Super Saint was an even bigger ass than “The “Drunk” that she and the kids had tolerated for years. Her take: she and the children agreed that they could not stand “The Drunk” or “The Saint” for another second and they left.
The point: assigned and assumed “Selves” can be even more disgusting than assigned or assumed “selves.”
Humanity’s problems are rooted in the assignment and assumption of duality-supporting “selves” and duality-supporting “Selves”
along with the over-abundance of desires and fears which they generate
as well as
the egotism and arrogance which they trigger in order to try to sustain their image and the belief in those false identities and Identities.
That is the deal with humans, and the non-dual understanding is the deal-breaker which the masses need but do not seek. So it is.
