An Advaita forum focusing on Realisation, enlightenment, non-duality, Real Love, peace, freedom, Your original nature, abiding naturally, the Oneness, the Nothingness, and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.
Here, there is nothing that is believed, so there is no one here who wants you to believe anything, either. Here, the invitation is to be free of all that you have been programmed, conditioned, acculturated, and domesticated to believe so that you can be free, period.

F.: Some have asked, "So if identity-less-ness comes at the end of the 'journey,' why not go straight there?" The response is that Neo-Advaitins suggest something very close to that;

however, many Direct Path teachers tried other AV teaching methods and a variety of Eastern yogas before they ultimately found that the Direct Path method was required to lead them along a "path" rather than skipping straight to the end.

Maharaj made clear that one must go back as one came, following that "path" back directly to the source; he made clear that steps on the "path" cannot be skipped, at least by the seekers most suited to the Direct Path method.

And for the most advanced, he also made clear that there was that state which was before the source (which sprang forth from the Void). That would be what is called here "The Full Circle Journey," and that alone allows a seeker to

(a) reach the end of the "path" which (b) allows the seeker to be restored to sanity and to (c) be purged of all learned ignorance which (d) paves the way for the consciousness to (e) be returned to its original condition of unblocked purity.

That unblocked and pure condition then (f) affords the opportunity for the remainder of the manifestation to unfold in the original, brain-based, intuitive, spontaneous manner that marks the relative existence of every living thing on the planet, except persons.

For most, then, the corrupting forces have exerted too great an effect for one to zoom Neo-Advaita-style from a condition of blocked consciousness to the "journey's end" and abide in a sane and sound manner, freed from all of the effects of conditioning and programming and acculturation and domestication.

Louise explained how those four corrupting methods play out and reinforce the falsehood of duality in most cultures:

The other day, I consulted with a client who offers training course that encourage people to make positive choices, take constructive action, step out of being a victim and into being a victor etc. The methodology offered for this “shift” is to teach people to connect with their true self.

The use of the temporary term “true self” within the Advaita context is of the pure consciousness witnessing, in the absence of personas. However the term “true self” when used in religious/spiritual circles (as evidenced in the example above) has a very different meaning. It is applied in the context of individuality and is often used interchangeably with other terms like “higher self” or “God consciousness” – with the notion that within the individual person there are two different types of consciousness – ordinary, everyday consciousness and this higher / more spiritual / true consciousness with the potential for consciousness to evolve.

F.: Exactly - so all of those concepts just generate more duality, yes? That is why the pointers offered here are most accurate when they point to the "blocked consciousness":

there is but one consciousness; there are no dual forms or levels of consciousness and there are no multiple levels or varied forms of consciousness. There is but consciousness, and the "blocked consciousness" still refers to the pure consciousness but specifically to that consciousness that has been blocked (by the contaminates of ideas and concepts and beliefs) from seeing Truth, from seeing Reality, from seeing clearly.

A child begins this manifestation with no ideas, no concepts, no beliefs. Then, it is as if the skull is opened by the poisonous snakes of programming and conditioning and as if they lick the brain and coat it in layers of their venom of deceit, leaving persons to traverse the relative in a near brain-dead fashion.

Then, the snakes inject their poisons of domestication and acculturation and the brain is rendered useless beyond its basic functions of seeing to it that lungs inhale and exhale and that the heart contracts and relaxes continuously.

By that process, the snakes render the brain near-dead and render the consciousness so blocked that talk about "a higher self” or “God-consciousness” or "levels of consciousness" (rather than "levels or degrees of blockage") are not only accepted as plausible terms but become the basis of what is taken to be "new truth...the new understanding."

Soon, those who can see no truth are speaking of the "high level of consciousness" that they have reached and of their "Higher Self" (as opposed to a dualistic "lower self"?) and of their "Supreme Self" (as opposed to a dualistic "not-supreme self"?)

When so much poison has been introduced and when so many obstacles block pure witnessing, then such a level of sickness manifests that a need for the Ultimate Medicine is indicated; otherwise, if left untreated, persons that have been exposed to decades of poisoning will stagger through the relative existence, will be as if intoxicated, will have blurred vision, and will not be able to see anything clearly.

The Direct Path method, combined with the nisarga yoga, administers the application of the medicine in a step-wise manner that can ultimately reverse the "damage" of cultural poison; can remove the obstacles and blockages;

can allow for the clear seeing of Truth to happen again; and can allow for the remainder of the relative existence to unfold in a natural - rather than an unnatural or supposedly "supernatural" - fashion.

Please enter the silence of contemplation. (To be continued)
