As for Maharaj, you will find here some of his early pointers for beginners but some of his later pointers that are for seekers farther along the "path." During his last years, he said of I AM THAT: "That book and whatever was expounded at that time was only relevant for that period. I am speaking differently today" and am "emphasizing different aspects." What he offered later differed considerably from his earlier talks, making clear that the pointers in I AM THAT will take you to the midpoint of "the race" but that his final talks point the way to "the finish line."
F.: [Continued from yesterday] Thus, the cause of all is all, so it should be clear that there is no Single Cause and, therefore, no Single Causer. What joyous relief comes when that is understood, for it ends the burden of trying to please some never-satisfied Causer who is clearer perceived - but found acceptable by billions - to be one that is so arrogant that he wants to be worshipped and adored and revered in return for not destroying people and punishing them for eternity.
The efforts to unravel the contradictions and solve the conundrum of a Causer that can supposedly say, "I love you unconditionally but if you do not adhere to my conditions, I will cast you into fire forever," can end. It is realized that there is no way to make contradictions non-contradictory, and one no longer buys into the explanation in such cases that "Well, He works in mysterious ways."
There is no way to make sense of a nonsensical statement from a god who is supposedly all-powerful but claims, "I could wipe out evil, but I love you so much that I want to give you free will." That is no different from a parent who would say, "My dear three-year old child, I could protect you from being harmed by cars while playing in the street, but I love you so much that I want to give you free will."
The beauty of casting aside nonsensical beliefs is the freedom that comes when the "mind" is not constantly trying to process BS. All belief in all BS ends, and peace then comes. And one piece of BS that must end is the belief in a Supreme Causer, the result of which is an understanding that all happens spontaneously and usually by accident:
Maharaj: "Destiny is the result of causes, mostly accidental, and is therefore loosely woven."
There is no "He" or "She" or He's" or "She's" that are working in mysterious ways. All is happening and is happening spontaneously, and the degree of arrogance of persons is unlimited when they believe that they are in control - and are using The Great Controller as a helpmate - to address their fears and desires.
Maharaj: "When I say a thing is without a cause, I mean it can be without a particular cause. Your own mother was needed to give you birth; But you could not have been born without the sun and the earth"
and
"Like everything mental, the so-called law of causation contradicts itself. No thing in existence has a particular cause; the entire universe contributes to the existence of even the smallest thing; nothing could be as it is without the universe being what it is. When the source and ground of everything is the only cause of everything, to speak of causality as a universal law is wrong. The universe is not bound by its content, because its potentialities are infinite; besides it is a manifestation, or expression of a principle fundamentally and totally free"
and
"Everything has numberless causes. The entire universe contributes to the least thing."
Finally, to review the original relative example that provided the means by which these universal pointers could be offered, it was shown how all are programmed, conditioned, acculturated, and domesticated.
One was shown to have been taught early on the right-wing, conservative, rural, prejudicial, religious concepts and beliefs and identities that have led to the arrogant notions he proudly proclaims - notions that are nothing more than a cloaked sense of separate and unequal; of better-than-ness; and of being apart from rather than a part of.
Others were shown to have been exposed to the same nonsense and arrogance and prejudice and separation while being raised in a mirror culture, but then undertook a journey that early on included their questioning what they were being told and then rejecting it early on.
There was in those cases the casting aside of all belief in their cultures' nonsense and hatred and separation. They Realized the Oneness instead. Yet there is no blame in the case of the former, and there is no pride in the case of the latter.
There is merely an understanding of why the former remains trapped in his ignorance and learned ignorance and stupidity and insanity, and why the masses who are trapped in the same feel so comfortable with the familiarity of his nonsense; thus, the ignorant, non-Realized masses continually elect ignorant, non-Realized leaders who were made from their same mold.
Those leaders, in turn, perpetuate the status quo rather than ever leading the masses into the Light. Two billion persons today worship Jesus Christ, but as Maharaj noted, after a two-thousand-year opportunity to effect change, there has not been even the slightest shift overall because of him and his worshipers. Wherefore the adulation when the results have been so fruitless?
The same applies throughout all of human history as persons have staked their freedom and happiness on things relative and on persons in the relative - including a steady stream of non-Realized military, political, religious, and spiritual leaders and non-Realized relational partners. Maharaj even admitted than few who visited his loft would ever Realized Fully. So it is.
Furthermore, there is an understanding of how in the case of the latter, freedom from ignorance and learned ignorance and stupidity and insanity happened.
There is an understanding of why Maharaj was correct to says that most persons will forever remain in darkness and that only a small fraction of one percent will ever step into the Light and remain there. So it is, but so it need not be.
At any rate, certain teachers remain available for the remainder of the post-Realization manifestation, available to those seekers who would find that which they seek. Best regards on Your "journey" as well.
