Today's Considerations
[Continued from yesterday]
19. Yesterday, it was seen that Maharaj came to understand that persons who are modeling other persons or enmeshing with other persons or identifying with other persons or internalizing other persons or parroting other persons are guaranteeing that their relative existence will be marked and marred by ignorance and personality disorders and even insanity. To be freed from that now near-universal condition, Maharaj taught that one should "model" (i,e., "abide as") a different model, namely, Their Original Nature.
To that end, he advised "richard" to understand what is beyond the beingness with which richard was preoccupied, to shift even beyond his meditation-focused occupation with the non-beingness, and to find that / That which is beyond both and then abide as that / That.
Of course, so many seekers since hearing that advice have asked a legitimate question: "How, then?" It deserves an answer.
Here, it has been witnessed that the long-sought-for changes to their relative existence which some seekers are seeking does manifest fully after completion of all seven of the steps on the seven-step "path" discussed here; yet Maharaj said that it is enough to know what you are not (an understanding that comes when the third step is completed, the step at which all personality identifications are finally abandoned, including the three which are usually the final false identifications to be forfeited: "The Super Religious One" and "The Spiritual Giant" and "The Super Seeker").
Yet it has also been witnessed here that those who only complete the third step and then complete the fourth step can enjoy the remainder of the manifestation in a sane and logical and reasonable and wise fashion, for then they will know what they are not and they will abide in a fashion quite similar to abiding as "Their Original Nature" even without having a clue that an "Original Nature" even existed. Again, it is asked, "But how?!"
It is really simple because every person has already been exposed to that manner of abidance even during the present manifestation. When? When abiding previously in what is discussed in detail in the eBook below entitled, "The Relative Results of Returning to 'The Child Ignorance Stage' or 'The Child No-Knowing State'."
See, if one only completes four of the seven steps on the Path" taught here, they will have completed approximately 60% of the entire "journey," and Maharaj would agree that "that's enough." Enough for what? Enough to be free of all body-mind-personality identifications and enough to abide throughout the remainder of the relative existence in a style that is very close to that of "Your Original Nature."
In the introduction to "The Relative Results of Returning to 'The Child Ignorance Stage' or 'The Child No-Knowing State'," this is offered: "The Rationale for Completing Even 60% of 'The Journey'." Here's an excerpt:
"The sages have discussed the 'negative (relative) impact of personality' for ages. Is it any wonder why, after having seen the results of ego-defense mechanisms and personality defects that always accompany the assignment and / or assumption of personality?
"Thus, sages for ages have recommended to seekers that they take the steps to be free of personality. The 'goal' of non-duality pointers is always to move persons to a state of independence and stability, freed from all identifications. That includes freedom from identification with the body and the mind and the personalities which generate chaos and fear and desire (which often include the desire to attain power and Power, all to be used in an effort to have the power / Power to control all people and all things).
"Yet freedom can never manifest as long as personality remains and is subconsciously driving all of a person's thoughts and words and actions and fears and desires.
"If seekers only reach the fourth step on the seven-step 'path,' they will reach the point where they might not know completely 'That Which They Are,' but they will have reached the point where they know what they are not. Again, of that awareness, Maharaj said: "You need not know 'What You Are'. Enough to know what you are not'."
So the invitation is to (1) re-consider the early descriptions of what that "Original Nature" was like and then to (2) compare that with what the relative existence is like when a child is abiding in "The Child Ignorance Stage" or in "The Child No-Knowing State."
What traits of "Your Original Nature" are similar to - or are often exactly the same as - the traits of a child's existence during "The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing State" (which is marked by a state of consciousness which is a pre-programmed, pre-conditioned, pre-domesticated, pre-acculturated, pre-brainwashed, and pre-indoctrinated state of consciousness)?
To be continued.
Please enter the silence of contemplation.
