Today's Considerations

22. To review:

a. Maharaj (as a result of being influenced by his guru) tried to address the Ultimate Sickness, and tried to eliminate such symptoms of the Sickness as ignorance and insanity, by use of a combination of certain Hindu worship practices combined with some non-duality pointers. He eventually saw that the plan did not work.

b. Next, Maharaj (as a result of being influenced by Westerners) tried to address the Ultimate Sickness and its symptoms by use of a combination of spirituality and non-duality pointers. He eventually saw that his second approach also failed to produce any lasting results, so he advised seekers to stop reading the "spiritual classic" entitled I AM THAT, to listen only to his last talks, to give up spirituality completely, and to abide in a natural fashion by modeling "Your Original Nature" for the remainder of the manifestation.

c. The question then becomes, "How?" The answer is this: the closest that anyone (that is, any composite unity) can come to abiding as that "Original Nature" is to return to "The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing State" and abide in the same way that abidance happened during that period.

d. That was the point, the last point, when any person was merely being. In that "Child No-Knowing State," there were no personal identifications which had been assigned or assumed (so there were no hidden agendas which were subconsciously determining thoughts and words and actions).

There was not yet a mind, that would form later, (so there was not yet any of the nonsense which would eventually control all thoughts and words and actions which would, in turn, lead to a sense of different-from-ment and better-than-ment which would, in turn, lead to a sense of separation and arrogance and disagreements and ignorance and personality disorders and insanity and arguing and fighting and killing).

e. To understand how to abide as "Your Original Nature" (which is very close to what you did during the "The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing State") requires an understanding of what the existence was like in both cases. To that end, recent posts described what "Your Original Nature" was like; then, the similarities between abidance as "Your Original Nature" and abidance as "The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing State" were offered.

To continue with additional excerpts from the eBook below entitled, "The Relative Results of Returning to 'The Child Ignorance Stage' or 'The Child No-Knowing State'":

"Maharaj said that 'It is enough to know what You are not'; therefore, if only four of the seven steps on the "seven-step path" are completed, that is still worthwhile (relatively speaking) because it is far more significant for those who are not unconditionally happy - or who are suffering or miserable - to be able to understand the 'not-You's' (and their subconscious agendas) than to be able to understand the 'Real You'."

[Those who pass through an entire relative existence without having given so much as a tinker's damn about "A Supreme Self," "An Infinite Self," or "A True Self" will not have the manifestation "negatively" impacted one iota. Those who pass through an entire relative existence without having learned to read Sanskrit texts will not have the manifestation "negatively" impacted one iota.

Those who pass through an entire relative existence without having read a single book deemed by some to be "holy" will not have the manifestation "negatively" impacted one iota. Those who pass through an entire relative existence without having had a so-called "religious experience," a so-called "spiritual experience" or having any other similar experience - all of which are rooted in emotional intoxication and all of which will generate a continuation of being emotionally-intoxication - will not have the manifestation "negatively" impacted one iota. On the other hand, those who pass through an entire manifestation while being driven by learned ignorance and insanity will experience an uninterrupted series of major "negative" impacts, relatively speaking.

How is it known that none of that other "stuff" matters? Because billions and trillions of humans and human-like life-forms moved through a relative existence and survived and bred and left offspring - that is, participated in the cycling of elements and in manifesting and un-manifesting - without ever having claimed they were doing anything unique or special. And they did just fine. And everything that happened with those trillions of life-forms (all of which turned out to be just fine in the overall scheme of things) happened before anyone had ever dreamed up concepts such as "A Supreme Self," "An Infinite Self," "A True Self," Sanskrit, "holy texts," "religion," "spirituality," "being special," ad infinitum.

If none of that matters, why follow the "path"? Why seek? Because, again, there is something that will most certainly have a major, "negative" impact on the entire relative manifestation, namely, learned ignorance and insanity.

What is to be sought, and what is to be found at the end of the "path," is relief from the symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness. What is to be found is an ability to differentiate between true and false. What is to be found is restoration to sanity. What is to be found is freedom. What is to be found is peace.

What Maharaj eventually came to understand was that none of the philosophical / religious / spiritual "stuff" matters. What matters is being freed from the effects of (a) learned ignorance and the effects of (b) the personality disorders which follow personality assignment and assumption and the effects of (c) the arrogance-generating senses of different-from-ment and better-than-ment which lead to mental and emotional insatiability and to planet-wide disharmony and chaos.]

To be continued.

Please enter the silence of contemplation.
