Today's Considerations

“Prepared for?” or “Ready for?" (continued)

Nowadays, few are prepared to abide naturally. Most are ready and willing to abide unnaturally or to try to live supernaturally (i.e., spiritually, being ruled by magical thinking, being out of touch with reality as well as Reality, etc.)

All persons - during their childhood years - are made ready to believe whatever they are told by authority figures; yet that readiness and willingness usually continues throughout the entire manifestation. Thus there is no end to the effects of the programming and conditioning and domesticating and acculturating and indoctrinating and brainwashing which began early on, so the masses are (1) made ready to accept as true the falsehoods which they were taught as children and are (2) also made ready to accept as true the falsehoods which they hear throughout their adulthood years.

For example, 71 percent of Republicans in the US. believe that President Obama was born in Kenya and is, therefore, not even legitimately the president. That’s what the Republican leadership told them, so that is what they believe.

A majority of those same people believe that Obama is a Muslim. That’s what the Republican leadership told them, so that is what they believe.

The number of those among the 319,000,000 people living in the U.S. who claim to be Christians is dropping, down now to 70% or so, but more than 80% of those Christians believe that invisible angels are flying about all around them and that one in particular is serving as a God proxy just for them and is watching over them as their heavenly-assigned “Guardian Angel.” (As for believing in gauzy and filmy and transparent beings, 51% in the U.S. still believe that ghosts are real.)

The majority, when quizzed anonymously, report that they believe that whites - those persons of a Germanic or Aryan or Anglo-Saxon or Hun lineage - are “superior to persons with darker skin," and a study some years back affirmed the pervasiveness of prejudice.

Research, conducted by psychologists at the University of Washington who developed a new tool that measures the unconscious roots of prejudice, determined that up to 95 percent of people in the U.S. are affected by prejudice. (Many, when the results of their testing were later revealed, denied the fact, one responding: "I ain't no racist, but I do believe that people should stay with their own kind 'stead of mixin' everybody all up.")

Recently, five men on the U.S. Supreme Court - all Republican, all Catholic, and all white except for one whose beliefs are always aligned with his four white peers to the far right - claimed that racism in the U.S. has pretty much ended; therefore, they struck down laws which were written to protect the members of minority races in the U.S.

Nowadays, the abnormal norm among the masses all around the globe is to accept totally baseless and bogus beliefs, all accepted in the absence of proof, in the absence of observable evidence, in the absence of practicality and logic and reason, in the absence of experimentally-derived evidence, and with the lack of any empirical evidence at all. Such is the way that the typical human mind now functions, but in his 1981 Foreword to the first book containing transcripts of Maharaj’s earlier talks, Douwe Tiemersma addressed the issue when he wrote:

There are various religions and systems of philosophy which claim to endow human life with meaning. But they suffer from certain inherent limitations. They couch into fine-sounding words their traditional beliefs and ideologies, theological or philosophical. Believers, however, discover the limited range of meaning and applicability of these words, sooner or later. They get disillusioned and tend to abandon the systems, in the same way as scientific theories are abandoned, when they are called into question by too much contradictory empirical data.

See, Maharaj came to understand that all beliefs are just made-up, deceitful, and untrue, including the spirituality-based pointers which he offered early of; that is why he told seekers later on to stop reading that so-called “spiritual classic" entitled I AM THAT and to listen only to his later talks (which focused on the mind roots of the Ultimate Sickness).

Yet only a few are ever prepared to question. Only a few are Personality Type Four’s (search the word "enneagram" above) who are "pre-wired" to challenge, question, and discard the lies which they were taught. The reason that Personality Type Four’s are most prone to grasp the non-dual message and are the most prone to cast aside all beliefs (hence, abandon the mind) is because they are the most prone to rebel against anything imposed by authority and against anything that is devoid of logic or reason or evidence.

Type Four’s - such as Maharaj - have a near-innate resistance to accepting the BS dreamed up by ignorant people and imposed on the masses by those in positions of authority, whether their authority is rooted in religion, spirituality, business, government, whatever.

Yet only one-half-of-one-percent of the earth’s population are Type Fours. The rest have to find their way via a more circuitous route if they are ever going to be able to challenge and question and discard the falsehoods which the masses believe and thereafter be free of the nonsense and learned ignorance and insanity which is passed down to all persons from early on.

Just as an addict can develop a tolerance for certain drugs or alcohol, forever requiring more and more to attain the same effect that was experienced initially, so the masses have developed a tolerance for the key symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness (identified by Maharaj as “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity”). Whatever the majority of those with whom they are in contact believe is what they shall also believe, no matter how ignorant and insane those beliefs are.

[That is why it is said here that “There is no such thing as your beliefs; there are only their beliefs which you have adopted as your own and which you are now willing to defend as if it were you who gave birth to those beliefs.” For the masses, whatever the majority around them believe, most will also believe. Such blind acceptance is also said to deal with having “blind faith in whatever one is told.”]

In the tale of “The Blind Men and the Elephant," each of five blind men touch a different part of an elephant and are convinced that the shape they are feeling is the real, overall shape of an elephant.

As a second example, some regular site visitors know that a woman from St. Louis, Missouri once said in defense of her conviction that there is a male god who is controlling everything that happens on earth, "Floyd, millions of people cannot be wrong." The reply, “Agreed. In truth, billions and trillions have been wrong.”

The result? Billions of persons on the planet right now are ready to believe anything that they are told by an authority figure because they were not prepared - and because they have not subsequently taken the steps required to be prepared - to question, to investigate, and to discard beliefs passed down to them (beliefs which were dreamed up thousands of years ago by totally ignorant people); instead, they are ready to believe anything that they are told by an authority figure, no matter how ignorant that authority figure is.

Maharaj said:

“I have no faith in anything which has ever been told, not even what has been told by the Vedas. Only my own experience.”

"After the information given to you by the mother, that you are a boy or girl, all your further acquisitions are by hearsay."

“It is always the false that makes you suffer . . . .”

"Both the mantra and the faith in the mantra will get dissolved."

"Go to zero concepts."

“Whatever you have tried to understand during your spiritual search will prove false.”

Cited in past posts is testimony from scores of counselors and therapists with 20 to 30 years of experience who report that the severity of the mental illnesses of their clients has increased geometrically since the earlier days of their clinical practice.

Those few people with the ability to analyze the results of hair tests, which read chemical levels and interpret what is revealed via a variety of customized energy readings, also have shared that they have tracked the annual increases in the severity of their clients' mental illnesses during the last two to three decades.

Yet even among the relative few who wake up enough to know that “something is not quite right in their lives and in their decision-making processes” and who seek out a therapist will usually balk at the suggestion that they need to change the way that they are thinking if they would change the way that they are living. They have actually developed a tolerance for their insane, chaotic lives (or they are attached to a “comfortable” lifestyle which is being provided by an ass so, in the end, they are going to change nothing.)

Because of perverse mind stuff - rooted in programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and indoctrination and brainwashing - persons are not prepared to seek the natural, the peaceful, the quiet. To the contrary, they are made ready to accept as normal their often subconscious but all-too-common states of agitation and impatience and petulance and annoyance and irritation and unhappiness.

As for most of those and most all other persons, they have developed a tolerance for insanity and chaos and pain and misery and suffering because of the psychological process of “normalizing.”

More of that tomorrow.

To be continued.

Five Free eBooks

Compliments of Andy Gugar, Jr.,
the following eBooks are available without charge for you or for friends:

I.
"GOOD vs. EVIL?" or "IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY, and INSANITY?"

The content of this eBook deals with one of the most common but erroneous beliefs that the non-Realized masses cling to and which they will fight about (and even kill over), namely, that there is a planet-wide duel going on between “the forces of good and evil” in the universe.

Either (1) the ancient view is spot on: that the "ills of the planet" are rooted in evil people, in people not being religious enough or spiritual enough, and are caused solely by bad morality; or, (2) the "ills of the planet" are rooted in ignorance, stupidity and insanity and "being good" or "being moral" does not put an end to ignorance, does not eliminate stupidity, and does not treat insanity in any way.

II.
"THE VISION"

Comments regarding the free eBook entitled “THE VISION”:

“My thanks to you and Andy.” – Andrew “Mac” McMaster

“Thanks so much for the book! And, by the way, it is brilliant and the most effective pointing that you have done. It has served to help clear the remaining blockages.” – Stan Cross

“Greatly appreciate having “THE VISION” added to my Henderson resource library that is situated on the right side of my bed for easy access! Eternally grateful for what was received and what was given.” – Robert Rigby

“‘THE VISION’ is such a well-written, condensed version of the Nisarga Yoga approach to understanding and enjoying Reality that I feel it can serve as a must-read ‘meditation guide’ for all earnest seekers.” – Andy Gugar, Jr.

III.
"Sapolsky, Maharaj, and the Non-Dual Teachings"

Dr. Robert Maurice Sapolsky is an American neuroendocrinologist; a professor of biology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at Stanford University; a researcher; an author; and a Research Associate at the National Museums of Kenya.

There is much that a non-dualist or Advaitin or Nisargan can relate to by comparing and contrasting what Sapolsky reveals about the way certain troops of baboons live in Africa with the way that humans abide all around the globe.

This 152-page eBook catalogues the common, non-dual message shared by Sapolsky and Maharaj and reveals the ways that Sapolsky’s scientific research supports the non-dual pointers offered by Maharaj.

IV.
Seeking

In “PART ONE” it will be seen that most persons on the planet are not seeking, and most will never seek, but for those who are seeking, most will face several obstacles:

In “PART TWO” of this book, it will be seen why many criticized Maharaj for “changing his message in his later talks.” It will be seen that the changes were not about changing the message per se as much as about changing his methodology as he experimented with one version of the Ultimate Medicine after another in order to try to find an effective means for addressing the Ultimate Sickness.

He tried a religious version of the Medicine, a Spiritual version of the Medicine, and finally settled on a version which addressed to Sickness at its core . . . at the mental and emotional level.

V.
"THE MOST DANGEROUS BELIEF OF ALL"

“Dangerous” is a term that can only apply during the relative existence, but of those who do commit suicide, for example, how many shoot themselves in the foot over and over until they “bleed out”? None. They shoot themselves in the head. Why? In order to try to stop the noise - to try to stop the chatter of a thousand monkeys – to stop the noisy mind which is the area that stores the ideas, notions, concepts, mind-stuff, etc. which drives them into the depths of insanity.

And what are those ideas, notions, concepts, etc. called, collectively? "Their beliefs." The irony? They are not their beliefs at all. They are the beliefs of “others” that were set in place via programming, conditioning, etc. and which persons then think are their own.

And what are those beliefs rooted in, and what reinforces those beliefs and convinces persons that they are sacred and worth fighting over and even sometimes worth dying for? Blind faith.

This 337-page eBook discusses those issues in detail.
