TODAY’S CONSIDERATIONS
Those among “the non-realized masses” (a phrase which Maharaj used merely to refer to those among the masses who “have not been freed from ignorance”) are forever either (a) trying to be something (or “SOMETHING!”) or (b) trying to hang onto some identities which they are not but which they believe they are or want to think that they are.
See? Ignorance.
Maharaj: “When you believe yourself to be a person, you see persons everywhere. In reality there are no persons, only threads of memories and habits. At the moment of realisation the person ceases. 'Identity' remains, but identity is not a person. It is inherent in the reality itself. The person has no being in itself; it is a reflection in the mind of the witness, the 'I am', which again is a mode of being.”
Here, there is no identified person and there is no belief in some "one" who is personal and who is identifiable and who is writing this blog entry this morning. There is just a composite unity, a triad of (1) elemental plant cells which have converted into human cells which are presently, in turn, forming a space – an elemental plant food body, if you will - which is circulating (2) air and circulating (3) conscious-energy.
Per the Second Law of Thermodynamics, all which has come together to form what some deem to be “floyd” or “Floyd” will come apart. Meanwhile, the triad involves nothing more than cycling:
First, the plant food body is changing every second, and either more plant food must be eaten or more things which ate plant food must be eaten in order to replace the cells which are – at this very moment – coming apart.
Skin cells are falling off, being totally replaced every month. Stomach cells are being replaced every four days or so. Bones are losing density.
Secondly, conscious-energy is forever cycling into and out of the space. Again, either more plant food must be eaten or more things which ate plant food must be eaten in order to replace the quantity of conscious-energy which is also constantly coming and going.
Thirdly, the air will also cycle in and out of the space until the point when the plant food body is no longer capable of circulating air.
That’s all that is here: an identity-less composite unity which is cycling “stuff.” Nothing unique. Nothing special. Nothing Special or Supreme.
Want to see what part of the composite unity called “Maharaj” was left behind after mahasamadhi was taken and which is visible / viewable nowadays? Go to the room in Mumbai where a handful of his ashes which were retrieved from the remains of his funeral pyre and which were placed behind glass are currently on display. (There you can also see the non-realized persons who gather daily to worship and pay homage to a handful of elements deemed to be special or Special by persons whom Maharaj would describe as being driven by “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity”).
Thus he asked this: “What is identity, after all? Continuity in memory? Can you talk of identity without memory?”
He explained: “The present 'I am' is as false as the 'I was' and 'I shall be'. It is merely an idea in the mind, an impression left by memory, and the separate identity it creates is false. this habit of referring to a false centre must be done away with, the notion 'I see', 'I feel', 'I think', 'I do', must disappear from the field of consciousness; what remains when the false is no more, is real.”
In CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE of The Relative Results of Returning to "The Child Ignorance Stage" or "The Child No-Knowing State" entitled “The Illusion of "Becoming," this is offered:
1. The notions that one has "become better," that one has "become something really 'good'," that one has "become super religious or super spiritual," and / or that one has "really become 'something special'" or is now seen to be SOMETHING SPECIAL or SUPREME or GOD-LIKE or GODLY or REALLY SPIRITUAL AS OPPOSED TO JUST RELIGIOUS involve . . .
(a) nothing more than the same kind of deception and self-deception which plagues "the totally non-realized masses"; and involve
(b) nothing more than the same kind of identity or ego-state assumption which leaves the masses without a clue about who / what they are not.
(c) Then, and all of that triggers the use of the same ego-defense mechanisms (such as egotism and arrogance) which are used by all persons who assume identities - whether those assumed identities are deemed by their cultures to be "bad" ones or "good" ones.
2. Next, this is offered for consideration: completion of the entire "journey" to "Full Realization" does not result in egotism and arrogance and narcissism being replaced by "humility" (which is actually always just false humility) or by "modesty" (which is actually always just false modesty). Why?
Because those are nothing more than the opposite extreme of the "egotistical vs. humble" duality; instead, what manifests upon reaching the end of the "path" is a neti-neti type of understanding involving neither egotism nor humility; involving neither the notion that you are now "this" instead of "that which you were in the past";
involving neither the notion that you are a religious person or an atheist; involving neither the notion that you are "better as opposed your former condition when you were worse than you are now"; involving neither a notion that you are the "the best vs. the worst";
and involving neither the notion that you are "a spiritual giant vs. a spiritual pygmy."
(The charge leveled against "The 'Later' Maharaj Who Dismissed Spirituality" and "The Present Floyd" is that they are "spiritual pygmies" as opposed to "spiritual giants." The fact: it's neti-neti.)
At the end of the "path," after completion of the entire "journey," the passage will have moved you from identifying with a host of false "I's" to an understanding of the Absolute;
to a state of Full Awareness, to an understanding of Your Original Nature;
to an understanding of the Void and the Nothingness which was prior to this universe and prior to all universes; to an understanding of exactly why you cannot "become spiritual," "become better," or "become anything";
and to the freedom of being freed of any and all notions about being SOMETHING, being something special, being something really "good" (or, conversely, to freedom from any notions about "not being enough and never having enough because of not being 'good' enough").
You are invited to consider all of the above and see what - if any - further awarenesses come into consciousness.
To be continued.
Please enter into the silence of contemplation.
