TODAY’S CONSIDERATIONS

The next topic which would be on a “final bucket list” of talks if only three hours of the manifestation to be remaining would be this:

There Are Hundreds of Sources of Pain, But Only One Source of Misery and Suffering, Part One

To reconsider and to continue to condense:

1. Find the simplest version of these teachings.

2. Abide naturally and spontaneously and modestly.

3. Seek not a "good role" to replace "bad" roles.

4. End the search for identity and rest in the awareness of the nothingness.

5. Both the relative and the Absolute are much ado about nothing, so relax and enjoy the manifestation ... NOW.

6. Settle not for instability ... find that which provides stability ... NOW.

7. Question.

8. Be free of the effects of your programming, conditioning, domestication and acculturation.

9. March only to the beat of your inner guru.

10. As for religion and / or spirituality: try it, but don't buy it.

11. Next, understand that there are hundreds of sources of pain, but only one source of misery and suffering.

The masses are in a mad rush every day, searching high and low and here and there for a way to alleviate their fears and to satisfy their desires (which usually involves a search for externals that can "make them joyous" or facilitate their being "ecstatically-blissful").

Some assert more moderately, "I just want to be happy" (or, if a parent, "I just want my child / children to be happy").

First, understand that it is impossible, during the relative existence, to fixate in a state that is free of emotional intoxication and feeling. If Realization happens, then the ego-states that are a prerequisite for emotional intoxication will be eliminated, but the Realized will still feel for as long as the manifestation continues. The by-product of Realization is not, most assuredly, a cold, robotic inability to feel. Quite the contrary, in fact.

As for "finding externals that can make you happy," understand that anytime you find any external which you claim is "making you happy," be assured that the same external will eventually be involved with making you miserable. And whatever makes you the happiest will eventually make you the saddest. If you co-dependently empower externals to meet your perceived desires and "needs," then prepare for the consequences of giving people and / or places and / or things the power to determine how you feel (and / or emote).

Are you one who is enamored with the woman you are dating and one who is assured that - if you can only persuade her to marry you - you will be happy forever? Check the statistics and see how often that works out. Are you a woman who has "given up" and who has decided that "a man is the plan"? Check the statistics and see how that works out.

Are you certain that you'll be happy if you are finally able to buy your dream home or finally able to find someone who will buy it for you? Check with the three million in the U.S. and the many millions of others around the globe who have received foreclosure notices in recent years. They were ecstatic when they bought their homes, miserable when they "lost" their homes.

(Here, having "lost" three homes during days gone by, not only is there an ability to relate to how those millions are feeling - and usually emoting as well - but also there has come an understanding of the means by which that process can happen and be transitioned without forever-lingering misery and suffering.)

Too, there have been far too many cases observed here where someone was ecstatic when they finally had the child that was going to be a source of joy for their entire lives, only to suffer the misery of losing that child. Sadly, that dream come true, which gave them the greatest joy, eventually became the ever-recurring nightmare that has given them their greatest misery. In the case of millions now unemployed around the globe, the same instability has happened: joyous over finding a job they wanted, miserable now over having lost it.

And then there are those who were sure that they had found some external "Higher Power" that was going to solve all their problems or give them the power to handle every problem that might arise. The time came when that proved not to be the case at all (whether they realize or do not realize that such is the case).

During two stays in a hospital in October of 2011, some of the sources of pain were experienced by the plant food body here, and a wide variety of the sources of pain in other plant food bodies was witnessed. Around the globe this year, the equivalent of US$24 billion will be spent on medications to alleviate pain. The cost of efforts to alleviate misery and suffering cannot be calculated as easily.

Here, there is no advice about what actions you might or might not take regarding pain, but there is most assuredly a means by which you can be free of misery and suffering, a means which can be shared. More on that.

To be continued.

Please enter into the silence of contemplation.
