TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS

In closing out this series, here's an overview:

The "non-realized" masses (that is - per Maharaj - those persons who have not realized, meaning, not been freed from believing unquestioningly the learned ignorance which they have accumulated in their minds and those persons who have not restored their brains to their original no-concept, no-beliefs, no-nonsense, no-learned ignorance state) . . .

• are obsessive

• are compulsive

• are unable to relax

• are driven to go and do and zoom (whether that involves religion; spirituality; employment; "personal relationships"; politicking; reforming; rescuing; seeking love; seeking mass approval and applause and admiration; trying to escape responsibilities; accumulating; finding caretakers; or controlling).

We looked at sixty-eight reasons which cause the above to manifest and we have discussed what must happen in order to be freed from their influence; additionally, we looked at the "causes of the causes."

Now Maharaj made clear that "the cause of all is all." To identify all of the truly "original causes" is impossible because they have been developing and evolving for infinity:

No "Big Bang" = no "this universe" even as other universes have continuously come and gone.

No "this universe" = no 7+ billion persons who are now cursed by the Ultimate Sickness and three of its key symptoms which Maharaj identified as "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity."

No ignorance, stupidity and insanity = no need for humans to either be driven unconsciously throughout an entire relative existence by ignorance, stupidity and insanity;

or,

no ignorance, stupidity and insanity = no need for the few who do realize that they have been driven all their lives by ignorance, stupidity and insanity to become trapped for the rest of their lives in seeking "something else" (even as the few who do seek seldom really understand at all what it is that they should actually be seeking).

So, because there is no way to trace causes which have developed and evolved for infinity, we have looked at the current state of the causes and how they have functioned during the last 5,000 or so years (which is a tiny period in the 13.772 billion-year history of the universe; in the 4.5 billion-year history of earth; since the earliest known prehistoric ancestor of humans - a microscopic, bag-like sea creature - lived about 540 million years ago; in the 8+ million-year history of humankind's more immediate ancestors; and in the 200,000 years since so-called "modern humans" evolved).

Now, we'll review the "causes of the sixty-eight causes" and note the levels of their impact, starting with the most influential and working down from there.

First, the "causes of the causes" in this series were 26 in number and appeared a total of 312 times in varying combinations.

So what should those who would be free of the effects of the Ultimate Sickness need to understand about the causes in terms of their weight of influence?

The impacts via the first two causes were close in the weight of their influence:

10.6% of the time, acculturation is the key driver of humankind's obsessiveness, compulsiveness, fanaticism, and the preponderance of humanity's ignorant and insane thoughts and words and actions which the masses exhibit

while

10.2% of the time, the cause of the causes involves the assumption of personality identifications

Look at the time involved with the various topics that Maharaj discussed and you'll see that those two would be very high on the list of what Maharaj warned seekers to be aware of and to beware of.

Close to the effects of those two is the influence of conditioning which came in at 10%.

Next came insanity itself at 8.3%,

domestication at 8%,

programming at 7.3%,

with indoctrination and brainwashing tied at 7% each.

Next, the Maharaj-identified symptoms of "stupidity" and "ignorance" tied at 6.7%

and

delusion and distortion tied at 5%

with warped beliefs coming in closely at 4.8%

and

with arrogance and egotism at 3.2%.

In order after that were:

personality-based fears

personality-based desires

mind identification

being re-programmed rather than de-programmed

the varying effects of the nine basic personality types

body identification

the addiction to control

the addiction to power / Power in order to be able to control

the mental problems which result when the body is out of physical balance because of following a food plan that is not the one required for maximized functioning of each of the three metabolic body types

and

fanaticism per se

So what do all of those have in common? Do they exist because the persons being driven by those know too little dogma? Hardly. Do they exist because of a "spiritual malady" or "a sick spirit" or "the dark night of the soul"? Hardly.

As Maharaj came to understand, they all exist because the non-realized go through each day living under the influence of the unnatural mind rather than functioning under the auspices of the rest of the natural brain.

The real rub, therefore, with those causes?

They all share a common "place of residence" (namely, in a warped mind) so neither they nor their effects can be separated or compartmentalized.

It is not as if a person is only being influenced 10.6% of the time by the effects of having been acculturated. One is being influence by all of those factors all of the time. Whichever comes to the forefront at any given moment and becomes the primary driver of ignorant and insane thoughts and words and actions is irrelevant because they can all be "running constantly in the background" and can all be activated singularly or simultaneously by the slightest pressure on their hair-trigger character.

Bottom line: All of humankind's problems and troubles and conflicts and insane thoughts find birth in a mind warped by what has been taught, by what has been learned, and by the subsequent beliefs which are accumulated in warped minds.

Hence, Maharaj turned his back on religion as a component of the Ultimate Medicine and turned his back on spirituality as a component of the Ultimate Medicine and focused in the end on treating the actual, psychological roots of the Ultimate Sickness.

And that is why, having finally come to understand that the problems of humanity are all centered in the mind, he said:

"There is no such thing as peace of mind. Mind means disturbance. Restlessness itself is mind."

“Don’t rely on your mind for liberation. It is the mind that brought you into bondage. Go beyond it altogether.”

"Distrust your mind, and go beyond."

“The death of the mind is the birth of wisdom.”

"All illness begins in the mind."

"There is no chaos in the world except the chaos which your mind creates."

 " . . . The mind obscures and distorts."

"Beyond the mind there is no suffering.”

[Note the distinction between “pain” on one hand and "misery and suffering" on the other: pain is rooted in the body; misery and suffering are rooted in the mind.]

His advice: "Stop making use of your mind and see what happens."

"There is no such thing as mind. There are ideas . . . ."

[Here the point is that ideas, concepts, notions, perceptions, values, etc. can all be clustered into one single group or classification: beliefs; thus, it would be said here that “There is no such thing as mind. There is only a conglomeration of beliefs; moreover, those are not 'your beliefs' but are actually just 'their beliefs' which have been accepted on blind faith without any logical or reasonable or objective questioning at all.”]

Maharaj: "To know that you are a prisoner of your mind - that you live in an imaginary world of your own creation - is the dawn of wisdom."

So what was the state which ultimately freed him and led to the birth of his wisdom? It was a no-mind state:

"There is no such thing as a mind."

"I have no mind . . . ."

"Reach a state of zero-concepts."

"As to my mind, I have no such thing. There is consciousness in which everything happens."

"I find I have lost the mind irretrievably."

If you are interested, may you find a final and viable and effective treatment, be freed from the machinations of the warped mind, then be done with seeking, and then finally unwind, calm down, slow down, let go, loosen up, lighten up, settle down, rest, chill out, take a break, and abide naturally rather than unnaturally and / or supernaturally.

Of course, that is all just a suggestion.

Please enter into the silence of contemplation.
