Annoyance, Antagonism, Resentment, Exasperation, Anger, Fury, Rage
The U.S. is one of only two countries in the so-called "developed world" which has seen a net drop in foreign travel from 2016 through 2018, the other nation sharing that fate being . . . Turkey.
The duality-based political and religious polarization referenced in the last post has been brewing since the 1990's when Newt Gingrich - more than any other single person - struck a fatal blow to an already-flawed but sometimes-willing-to-compromise U.S. political system.
And while the U.S. has long been high on the list of the places where people from around the globe chose to spend their vacation funds, that money has dried up, along with hundreds of thousands of travel-related jobs. Why?
When I owned and operated a European tourism company in the 1980's and 1990's, most of the people on the tours which I conducted reported that, during their travels, the three things they were in search of were as follows:
1. they were seeking an opportunity to "expand their horizons" by meeting and interacting with people from different cultures, and more than any other single word, the word "culture" was mentioned time and again;
2. they were seeking to be welcomed with open arms (which we always were, the occasional "Ugly American" notwithstanding); and
3. they were seeking a change in scenery which offered relaxation and new culinary experiences and levels of class and elegance or the calm stability which would be guaranteed by the prevailing grace and composure and serenity and poise of the people living in Amsterdam; and in Bavaria; and in the off-the-beaten path areas in Venice and Rome which were inhabited by locals and were avoided by tourists; and in Florence; and in the small villages and hill towns of Tuscany.
So if the same applied to those visiting the U.S., why would they stop coming since the 2016 elections?
Because they have access to international newscasts and there is nothing they see which suggests that any of that can presently be found here.
In 2016, dualistic beliefs and xenophobia and nationalism and a prevailing sense of "different-from-ment" and "better-than-ment" may not have become the "new game in town" but it did become the most vocalized and expressed game in town.
I was told last month that I was now 71 years old. Okay, I'll go along with that view and report than in 71 years, I have witnessed the aftermath of WWII when the population's attitude was generally upbeat and hopeful and celebratory; I have witnessed Russian aggression in Eastern Europe which certainly triggered some concern;
I saw the assassination of JFK which shocked 50% of the nation and heartened the other 50% (providing foreshadowing of the political polarization which would manifest in its fullness in the last two years); the U.S. involvement in a war in Vietnam (which added to the left / right divide in the U.S.); the invasion of Iraq based in government-generated lies (which added even more to the left / right divide in the U.S.); and the U.S.-caused collapse of economies around the globe).
Then came the 2016 elections when many living here became ready to leave, so why would those in other nations feel drawn to continue to visit the U.S.?
They now see a pissed-off population and a divided nation and the encouragement of new levels of political and religious-based violence, all rooted in duality. They have seen what I observe on a daily basis now: a population which has moved away from the post-WWII feelings of hope and have moved along the spectrum from annoyance to antagonism to resentment to exasperation to anger to fury to rage.
Who the hell would want to spend their vacation-budgeted funds to be exposed to that first-hand?
Who the hell would want to spend their vacation-budgeted funds to visit a nation where they will be exposed to a population which once offered an opportunity for visitors to "expand their horizons" and to open themselves to something other than one singular, uninformed perspective but which now - among at least 50% of its population - offers a hatred of other cultures and a chance to "limit one's horizons" and understandings and experiences and perspectives?
Who the hell would want to spend their vacation-budgeted funds to visit a nation where they will not be welcomed with open arms?
And who the hell would want to spend their vacation-budgeted funds to visit a nation exhibiting no class, no calm stability, no grace, no composure, no serenity, no poise along with widespread annoyance, antagonism, resentment, exasperation, anger, fury, rage and ignorance-based demagoguery?
And when those among the non-realized masses are addicted to control and to power and their supposed power is not providing their desired ability to control all and is not fulfilling their desire to become "The Ruler of the Universe, The One in Charge of Space and Time," then annoyance, antagonism, resentment, exasperation, anger, fury, and rage will become their stock in trade.
As for as people avoiding a visit to the U.S., it must be asked:
Who the hell would want to spend their vacation-budgeted funds to visit a nation where duality prevails and where so many among the masses are suffering from the Ultimate Sickness and from its Maharaj-identified symptoms of "ignorance, stupidity, and insanity" along with their attachment to such duality-based concepts as racism and white supremacy and xenophobia and nationalism and the unchecked levels of egotism and arrogance and judgmentalism and conceit and haughtiness and self-importance and condescension?
Any sane person in a marriage like that would be looking for an experienced divorce lawyer.
Recently, I was asked, "Are you ready to start up your European tour business again and only offer one-way tickets to get the heck out of here?"
I responded, "And go where? Europe is experiencing a modern-day version of its Black Plague days, as is the U.S. The Ultimate Sickness is as insidious there as it is here.
See, there's no such thing as a 'geographic cure' which can be used to address what ails the non-realized masses who are abiding all over the planet. Yet there is a version of the Ultimate Medicine which can allow you to witness objectively without being drawn into the mass hysteria and ignorance and stupidity and insanity.
"The pendulum forever swings, so it will swing back in the opposite direction at some point. At what cost to the earth's population before that happens? No one knows. But there is a version of the Ultimate Medicine which can be taken one dose at a time by one person at a time, and each person completing the full treatment plan and taking the full dosage can avoid being pulled into the depths of the darkness of the now-pervasive miasma and can then witness all of the chaos from a distance until it passes and thus avoid being contaminated with the Ultimate Sickness."

THE EXPLANATION
If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."
The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.
"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.
And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?
Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?
The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.
The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
