TODAY'S CONSIDERATIONS

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. [See the offer in gold text following this post for details on how you can watch a retreat on video which includes a detailed discussion of all seven of the steps on the path as used by Maharaj]

2. Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "God," the "Son of God," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns. See the green text after today's post for the full meaning and implications of that.

3. A new video ("Number Ten: Awakening Together Satsang, March 2018") has now been added in the far right column of this page, offering the opportunity to view a recent 2018 satsang session with Floyd being interviewed by Regina and Jacqueline of "The Awakening Together Group." (See the details in the blue text after this post.)

4. My assistant found two paperback copies of the book co-authored with Mark Houston, A Twelve-Step Journey to SELF-Transformation, a potentially-effective gift for someone struggling with an addiction to alcohol (or to anything else, really). The book lists for $19.95 + Priority Mail shipping. To purchase, you may use the donate button at the top right of this page and include a note that the $27.60 is for the Twelve-Step book. Regrets to international visitors but this is only available within the U.S. because international shipping rates are prohibitive and time-consuming and cannot be tracked.

So, to reach the Fourth Step is to reach a point where one is freed of false identifications, beginning with being free of body and mind and personality identifications. In upcoming posts, I’ll be sharing my take on those three, sharing quotations from my journal writings, blog writings, and book writings over what will be in three more months, three decades of sharing non-dual pointers.

Again, the early approach dealt with the seven-step approach and the later writings dealt with the four-step approach, so some quotes from both of those stages will be shared. (Later, quotations from Maharaj will be shared and then some quotations from a man I’ve known for many years, a non-dual writer in the U.K. that has reached an international audience for decades).

NISARGA YOGA, NATURAL LIVING, “CREATION” AND “CREATORS,” EMOTIONS VS. FEELINGS, "RELATIONSHIPS," and “MEDITATIONS”
from
Floyd Henderson

On Nisarga Yoga, Natural Living

• Nisargan, natural living can happen with completion of the four-step “path.” The Advaita poet William Shakespeare wrote: “The heavens themselves, the planets, and this centre observe degree, priority, and place. Insisture, course, proportion, season, form, office, and custom, in all line of order.”

• The Nisarga Yoga approach offers a direct route to the understanding that results in a natural way of AS IF living (that is, a natural way of functioning). That means living functioning spontaneously for the remainder of the manifestation, knowing that the "world" is illusory but living as if any of "all this" matters.

• (Thus, employment can happen even without the assumption of an "employee" persona.) Natural living recognizes that the laws of nature have the right of "insisture": either (a) life is lived naturally according to the “customs” of the universe or (b) persons violating the natural “order” will collapse and self-destruct.

• The realized move through the relative existence in a manner that is fixed by nature even though they appear to be moving as they please. Rather than trying to exert any force, they accept that happenings happen.

• Among the realized, nature has “priority” over efforts to control or manipulate. The realized abide within the framework of the natural laws that have “insisture,” understanding that all is to happen per the natural order and understanding that all is to happen in “proportion.”

• Non-realized persons, on the other hand, seek to control and manipulate so they will not have to accept “proportion.”

• They work to accumulate and to have more and to appear to be greater than what is proportional. They imagine that they have an actual need for more than is proportional or necessary.

• The realized move along lines which are “customary” rather than along paths which are unnatural or supernatural.

• To think supernaturally is to think magically, and magical thinking is delusional.

On Creation and Creators

• Either there is One, or there is duality and/or multiplicity. Either there is a prime cause and creation (and therefore a prime causer and creator) or there is neither creation nor destruction.

• Science has proved that there is neither creation nor destruction. All is energy/matter, and energy/matter can be neither created nor destroyed.

• Wherefore a causer or a creator in that reality? The cause of all is . . . all.

• Where is there any possibility of a creator (or a creator-sustainer-destroyer god) when that which is has always been, when that which cannot be created has always been, when that which cannot be destroyed has always been, and when all merely cycles . . . or not?

• Persons who are programmed to believe that their bodies-minds-personalities shall last "for infinity after death" do not pause to consider that, if infinity is a possibility in terms of “the future” on their timelines, then it must also be a possibility in terms of “the past” on their timelines.

• Infinite is infinite. Whatever has the ability to exist "forever after" also had to have the ability to exist "forever before."
On Emotions vs. Feelings

• Freedom from emotional intoxication can also be transitioned by way of completing the four-step “path.” The realized can feel, but without attachment and without a chain of reactions that result from emotional intoxication.

• Feelings among the realized are merely witnessed as they rise and fall.

• Emotions, on the other hand, are "experienced" only by persons—by those believing in their false roles and assumed ego-states.

• As a result of their persona-generated emotions, they are continually in a state of emotional intoxication and are constantly reacting and over-reacting to what they take to be "personal experiences" that are driven by desires and/or fears.

• Contrary to some charges, the Advaita understanding does not result in the Realized "living a robotic existence."

 • It does result in the remainder of the manifestation happening in a fashion that is free of mental, emotional, and spiritual intoxication.

On "Relationships"

• Freedom from “relationship-induced distortions and delusions and chaos and insanity” can also be attained by way of the four-step “path.” The egotism which always accompanies the assumption of false identities never shows up more often than when you believe that you are in a "relationship."

• First, in a reality which is non-dual in nature, how can "one thing" possibly relate to "another thing"? ("Advaita" does mean, "one without a second" or "not two.")

• Next, consider the history of the expectations that you have traditionally brought to "your relationships": besides wanting a clone of self, you expect "partners" to conduct themselves in a fashion that you find "right" and "acceptable."

• And what you think is "right" and "acceptable" is generally based in what your parents taught you is "right" and "acceptable." Is there any greater degree of insanity than your expecting a "partner" to conform to the expectations of the very persons who taught you the majority of the lies and the nonsense that you believe?

• You come here to discuss your "relationship problems" and "being alone" and wanting to know if the solution is to simply pledge that you'll never marry again and be done with it. "Is that necessary?" you ask.

• Of course not, but the only way to alleviate your current anxiety is to accept that marriage might happen . . . or might not. And if it does happen, the only way to avoid emotional intoxication and pain and to maintain peace is to witness whatever happens without playing phony roles or adopting false identities.

• You believe that you are in a relationship with someone you know and that you really have an "object of your affection." What a deception.

• If "you" are not, how could "he" be?

• Once you move beyond the image and find what that person is truly like, then you will know that you don't know him at all, and then you may well shout at him someday in anger, "I don't even know who you are!" Correct you will be.

• Once you move beyond your own image and find who / what you are, only then will you find what "he" is.

• As it is right now, you don't have a clue who he is, what he is, or who / what you are.

• And similarly, he doesn't know you or You at all. Until realization, you will both be sleeping with strangers while each proclaiming your intimate knowledge of the "other."

On Meditation

• Distortions regarding meditation and what it should entail and what it has nothing to do with and how to be free of spiritual workaholism can also be eliminated by completion of the four-step “path.”

• Originally, only one purpose of meditation was intended: not to reach a state without thought but to consider a pointer offered until that point was understood.

• Consideration and understanding, not “motionless consciousness,” was the intent. If it is thoughts that you wish to be free of, then address in meditation or in the quiet the falsity of the particular ego-state that is generating the thoughts, not the thousands of thoughts that the single false ego-state is generating.

• Meditation is intended to wake people up, not put them to sleep. Exercises conducted in the quiet along the “journey” are tools, yes, but when a homeowner’s house is built, he puts away his tools and then simply enjoys "the new place he’s in."

• Once realized, it is understood that there is no "Meditator," so WHO is it who believes that (a) he has completed the construction of a new house but simultaneously thinks that (b) he must continue the building process?

• That would be, among other assumed identities, "The Person Who Needs 'Maintenance'" and “The One Who Has Not Realized That There Is Nothing To Maintain.”

To be continued.

Here, with those who are still driven to talk about "God," the "Son of God," the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.

THE EXPLANATION

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to."

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part.

"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)

and

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."
--Pope John Paul II

"There is no hell."
--Pope Francis, the current pope
in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present.

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why?

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships?

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play.

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
