The point in this series is that the non-dual message has long been widespread but has seldom been understood either then or now. So, to move on . . . 

FURTHER DISCUSSIONS AND CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING SHAKESPEARE'S NON-DUAL QUOTES AND POINTERS 

The Drama of the Lie

“Non-dualists” who teach by use of the original Sanskrit employ the term “lila," which means “play.” Other definitions of the word “lila” include “pastime” or “amusement.” The term “lila” is often used in conjunction with the word “maya” (meaning “appearance” or “illusion”) in order to make the point that what persons take to be real is not. 

What persons think they are seeing and what they believe is happening in "this world" is nothing more than a play or a false drama. (Shakespeare made reference to the fact that persons sleepwalk through life and simply play the roles assigned to them by their culture when he said, “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women, merely players.”) 

Persons, being asleep and thus unaware, take the play to be real and take their roles to be real when in fact it’s all nothing more than an illusion or appearance. They are living the “Drama of the Lie.” (Shakespeare later provided the antidote: “To thine own Self be true and it must follow as the night the day: thou canst not then be false to any man.”) 

The realized know that the entire manifestation in nature is nothing but an illusion (an appearance, a play, a drama) while also realizing that the absolute consciousness is the only reality. 

Persons "live" on stage, constantly playing one role after another and taking their roles to be their real identity. 

Just as an actor can take his part too seriously and internalize the role as an identity, so too can programmed and conditioned persons act out their roles so often and so seriously that they take the drama that they are a part of to be the real. 

That drama is really the “Drama of the Lie,” wherein persons are behaving as if the play-acting they are engaged in is not play-acting at all; as if the roles they are playing actually define who they are; and as if the roles being played by others truly define who they are. It’s all a lie. 

(One method used by some teachers to awaken those who are asleep to the truth is a psychodrama-type exercise called “The Theater of the Lie” in which a teacher will provide an opportunity for protégés to see all of the false roles they are playing, how their relative existence is nothing but an illusory drama, and how divesting themselves of all the ego-states they’re using as assumed identities can clear the path for them to abandon the false self / selves and to understand what is real). 

Neither "Good" Nor "Bad"

The non-duality poet Shakespeare reported through the words of his character Hamlet, “ . . . There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” 

It is indeed thinking that generates duality; duality produces a desire to judge and label “others” as “good” or “bad”; judging generates a sense of separation and the resulting egotism; and separation and egotism spawn fluctuations of being happy and unhappy. 

Fluctuations in being happy and unhappy insure not only turmoil and chaos but all other relative misery…even including wars; and the widespread delusion of the masses insures that they will continue to fail to see that—in regards to all of the relative mess referenced above—it is the “mind’s” thinking that makes it so. 

The word “dilemma” (Greek, “di” = “two” and “lemma” = “alternatives, choices or propositions”) refers to a “difficult situation” where a person is forced to choose between two propositions, neither of which is a satisfactory alternative. 

It can be seen, therefore, that every “difficult situation” in the relative existence is based in “di” . . . in duality. Too, understand that all dualistic beliefs are stored in that warehouse of fiction called the “mind.” 

Furthermore, understand that once persons are “minded,” they become “dual-minded” persons who are unstable in all ways. A psychiatrist in one of David Baldacci’s novels tells one of his patients, 

“ . . . the answer to your problems is between your left and right frontal lobes. It’s a distance of about four inches and quite remarkable in that it contains trillions of bits of thoughts and memories that make you, you.” 

Yes, the root of all “difficult situations” in the relative are rooted in the dualistic thoughts and memories stored in that portion of the elemental brain than is referred to as “the mind.” 

Therein, the false notion of “you” is housed, a notion that blocks awareness of the real; thus "blocked," "you" really believe that "the false, imagined you" is really "you"; as a result, few will ever be able t6o differentiate between the true and the false. 

Contradicting the dualistic “either-or” fallacy that traps the masses in illusion, the non-dual poet Shakespeare has his character Hamlet offer this pointer: 

“ . . . there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” So there is nothing that is either good or bad. It is only the thoughts and memories stored in that “four-inch area” that leads persons to take such "either-or" duality to be true. 

And yes, the fictional “you” is nothing more than a mental image, a reflection of the “I” consciousness that supposes that it lives in “a world” that is also nothing more than a picture of your “I” consciousness. 

The “Non-dualist” Yeshu’a (“Jesus”) reportedly said, "Heaven and earth shall fade away," meaning that when the consciousness fades away (un-manifests) from the form that persons take themselves to be, their "pictured world" and "pictured self" and "pictured heaven" will fade away as well. It's all in the "mind," not at all in reality. 

Yet that four-inch area of the brain prevents most from knowing the truth of their limitless, infinite, original nature, and that is why most persons will stay trapped within their limited and finite "minds" and will continue to employ their cultures' closed, “either-or” scenarios; that will prevent their looking “outside the box” at the third possibility: Neti-Neti. 

Even more rarely do they consider the “neither-nor” possibility: “I am neither sinful nor moral; I am neither good nor bad.” ("Neti-Neti" reveals the truth of "not this; not this" . . . the truth of "neither-nor." If applied to each and every label and form / space and name, non-dual seekers can eventually eliminate belief in every relative concept, including the "I" and "the world," and arrive at the eternal Truth.) 

Understand how I am neither sinful nor virtuous and neither good nor bad and you’ll also see why this speck of consciousness is neither body nor mind nor persona. This pointer was offered earlier as well: 

Programmed persons are trying to maneuver through their relative existence with “the handicap” of many “reasoning fallacies” that drive them to establish “impossible conditions” or “either-or fallacies” of duality where the two options they typically consider are both erroneous and based in illogical nonsense. 

While some instances of “either-or” can be valid (a woman is either pregnant or not) the “either-or” scenarios used among the masses are typically fallacious. Only the objective witness of "neither-nor" can arrive at the Pure Witnessing / Truth Seeing state.

THE EXPLANATION 

If looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they are worthy of some attention during the relative existence. 

Meaning? There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept of God in the past was of a weak God, an absentee God, A Santa Claus-type God, a mean, punishing, vindictive God, etc. Today, I am in close contact with a loving and caring God whom I worship and praise and glorify and give thanks to." 

The reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a God that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly"). 

Next, in the phrase 'loving and caring God,' any supposed God that truly had her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part of that phrase is 'God' and that the only part that is relevant is the "loving and caring" part. 

"That is, a non-narcissistic god / goddess would say, "I care not an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'God' and focus on the 'God as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you." 

Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on: 

"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within" 

--Yeshu'a (Jesus) 

and 

"Heaven and earth shall fade away." 

--Yeshu'a (Jesus) 

and 

"Heaven and hell are not geographic places 

but are states of mind, nothing more than 

concepts dreamed up by men." 

--Pope John Paul II 

"There is no hell." 

--Pope Francis, the current pope 

in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari, 

a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record 

teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium. 

[That said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional courage required to question the very existence of their institution in light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of billions of their members past and present. 

And that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will they? Not likely. Why? 

Because what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the international crime families which hold sway over the masses as criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major international crime families and which are the most influential and have the largest memberships? 

The Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank); Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers) like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.) 

With all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business, politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the driving forces at play. 

The masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
