MAHARAJ'S
FINAL PLAN: REALIZE WITHOUT DOGMA, WITHOUT CONTINUOUS SPIRITUAL
PRACTICES, AND WITHOUT A PREOCCUPATION WITH “THE NATURE OF REALITY AND
THINGS NOUMENAL”
Those that truly understand the simplicity of the “phases” or “stages” involved in "Maharaj’s final strategy for completing 'the journey'” (or in "Floyd's final strategy for completing 'the journey'") also understand why some speak disparagingly (and accurately) of “a long and arduous approach to 'the journey'” which many seekers typically go through during their quest for whatever it is that they think they are searching for.
Before finding a simple and effective version of the Ultimate Medicine, Maharaj’s “journey” was certainly a long and arduous one, but the end result was this:
after he found that
after he found that
(A) religion / the mythical method was not the Ultimate Medicine for the Ultimate Sickness; and after he found that
(B) spirituality was not the Ultimate Medicine for the Ultimate Sickness;
and after he found that
and after he found that
(C) “Self-Inquiry” was not the Ultimate Medicine for the Ultimate Sickness;
and after he found that
and after he found that
(D) neither mystical talks nor mystical “work” was the Ultimate Medicine for the Ultimate Sickness
and
(E) after he realized that the Ultimate Sickness was rooted in - and aggravated by - what he identified as “ignorance, stupidity and insanity,”
then and then only did he offer a version of the Ultimate Medicine which could replace the long and arduous "journey" which methods “A,” “B,” “C,” and “D” above always guarantee.
The same happened here.
then and then only did he offer a version of the Ultimate Medicine which could replace the long and arduous "journey" which methods “A,” “B,” “C,” and “D” above always guarantee.
The same happened here.
Lao Tzu said that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step,” and that has always been accepted as the marching orders for those who are totally subsumed in their use of either method “A,” “B,” “C,” or “D": "You must be prepared to take a long 'journey'; following a short and simple 'path' will not do." Maybe yes; maybe no.
Maharaj’s religious / mythical approach and then his spiritual efforts and then his mystic and supernatural "Self-Inquiry"-instead-of-“self-inquiry” focus and his “Self-Inventory-rather-than-self-inventory" focus did what methods "A through D" always do:
they normalize a thousand-mile journey (or a multi-thousand-mile-journey nowadays) although a seven step “path” would take one far more easily to what should be the actual objective (namely, freedom from the roots and symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness: “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity”).
they normalize a thousand-mile journey (or a multi-thousand-mile-journey nowadays) although a seven step “path” would take one far more easily to what should be the actual objective (namely, freedom from the roots and symptoms of the Ultimate Sickness: “ignorance, stupidity, and insanity”).
Though he never enumerated the steps on a "1 through 7" list, Maharaj did discuss the same seven steps in the process used here. He advised seekers that they “. . . should go back, reverse, to the source” and to that they should “follow the same path by which you came” in order to reach the actual objective of “going to zero concepts” (and thereby being restored to sanity) by following a simple seven-step “path” rather than undergoing a long and arduous “journey.”
The "path" coming in had seven steps which resulted in the Ultimate Sickness, so the reverse "path" also has seven steps as well, each of which must be taken to un-do the bastardizing and consciousness-blocking effects of the "coming in" process which was dominated by faulty and perverted and bizarre programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and brainwashing and indoctrination.
Later, when he abandoned the use of religion and spirituality when experimenting with different version of the Ultimate Medicine (because he came to see that the Ultimate Sickness is not a too-little dogma sickness or a spiritual sickness or a spiritual malady), he stopped recommending a seven-step, SELF-Enquiry approach and recommended a four-step (false) self-inquiry approach which leads to knowing who you are not and returning to the Child No-Knowing State.

Here, also, the same shift away from all "long and arduous 'journey' approaches came to be recommended (also after having tried both dogma and spirituality as "cures," just as Maharaj did).
Consider the alternative:
If using plan “A” above, religion will be a birth-canal-to-the-grave-or-funeral-pyre process. You're never finish. You are to worship deities or a deity daily and you are to support the goals of your (actually, your parents') religion regularly with your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service.
If using plan “B” above, you are to perform daily exercises in order to remain spiritually fit because spirituality only offers a 24-hour reprieve from whatever ails you.
If using plan “C” above then you are destined to move (mentally) from accepting lesser identities to adopting the greatest identity of all and then tout forever the fact that you are something "Supreme.”
If using plan “D” above, then expect a “journey” which moves you away from being in touch with reality and Reality and relocates you (mentally) from the AM-ness and shifts you to Foo-Foo Land.
The options became clear to Maharaj:
OPTION 1: a long and arduous and never-ending “journey”; or
OPTION 2: a simple, four-step “path.”
In fact, he simplified the process even further by saying that a four-step “path” would be “enough,” transitioning beyond all of the work of Self-Inquiry and doing a simple “self-inquiry” and finding out who you are not.
It is that process, if completed, which can shift one beyond the third-step assumption of “good roles” (such as “The Super Religious One” or “The Spiritual Giant” or “Something “Supreme”) and allow for a fourth-step return to the unconditional happiness of “The Child Ignorance Stage” / “The Child No-Knowing State” which was also a “No Concepts and No Beliefs and No Identity State”. See? Four steps on a "path" in contrast to a "long, thousand-mile journey."

See? Four steps on a "path" in contrast to a "long, thousand-mile journey."
Actually, it is not necessary, Maharaj said, to do all of the spiritual or mythical or mystical work to try to find out “Who You Are.” Instead, the “self-inquiry” process can make clear that we are nothing – nothing personal and nothing identifiable. It is the “Self-Inquiry” process which deludes persons into thinking that they are “Something Special or Supreme.” It is the “self-inquiry” process which can make clear that we certainly are “nothing special” so we most certainly are not “Something Special or Supreme.”
It should be clear, therefore, why Maharaj shifted away from religion entirely and away from spirituality entirely when he finally realized that the popular forms of “the journey” lead to life-long entrapment; when he finally realized that the Ultimate Sickness is a mind sickness; and when he finally realized that a simple “path” can lead to freedom - once and for all - as opposed to being involved in a lifetime “journey” which only leads to
. . . the assumption of more supposedly-virtuous (but totally false) identities, to
. . . the assumption of supposedly noble and honorable and respectable Identities, and to
. . . the hypocrisy which, Maharaj made clear, always accompanies the assumption of "virtue" as a personality trait which is assumed by those who are trapped in beliefs about their “new and improved and good personas” vs. their "former, bad personas."
The simple “path” is a means by which one can eventually abide naturally; methods “A” through “D” above guarantee that one will abide in a very complicated and busy and unnatural (but supposedly “supernatural”) fashion.
The “path” can be short and easy; the “journey” as laid out by “A” through “D” will be long and arduous.
Finally, a truly simple and freeing alternative is available.
Now thew focus will be on this earlier pointer:
Should a fox or bear or coyote or cougar or bobcat become snared in a trap, they need not - and cannot - understand what has trapped them, what is robbing them of their freedom, why they are unhappy, and why they are most certainly not experiencing any joy. That is because they do not have a mind to do so. All they know is that they want to be free.
In addition to the five non-duality books made available without charge by Andy Gugar, Jr. (see “FREEBIES” above), you can now access nearly 3,300 posts for any topics of interest to you.

But “freed” from want?
Here, for the 31 years from 1989 to the present, the non-dual message has been offered to seekers who have come this way. When seekers come, the same process which Maharaj used has also been used here. The seekers have been allowed to ask questions and then questions were asked of them with one goal: to find out where each is on the seven-step path and what they need to understand to move on to the next step and then complete the entire process.
In order to provide level-appropriate pointers, seekers that come here or that arrange Skype or telephone sessions are asked, “What are you seeking? What is it that you think you want or need?”
More than any other single response, a large majority have said, “Freedom.” So they are clear on that much, yet they almost all exhibit confusion and bewilderment when asked the next question: “Freedom from what? What is robbing you of freedom?”
The “single response” goes by the wayside as hundreds of people or things are named which seekers think are preventing them from being free. Most also mention at some point an association they have made between (a) some freedom-blocking restriction or restrictions which they are experiencing and (b) their inability to be happy, much less blissful or joyous.
In almost every case, what they think or assume or believe is depriving them of freedom and happiness is never correctly identified. Persons do not have a clue why they do not “feel free” and do not “feel happy” and do not feel “joy or bliss.” Regarding the latter, as discussed in the eBook entitled What BLISS Is and What BLISS Is Not, most have no clue at all about what bliss even is. Similarly, most have no clue at all about what is blocking them from being free and happy and joyous.
Every human, unlike every other living thing on the planet, does have a mind, and unlike every animal that has ever stepped onto a trap and been ensnared, neither a mind nor understanding has anything to do with the animal getting free. Only human entrapment involves a mind and a lack of understanding, so understanding is required for humans to be set free from whatever might be ensnaring them (including the content of their minds).
Next, to the statement earlier regarding the requirement to understand in order “to move on to the next step and then complete the entire process.” The process is a means by which persons can become free and, subsequently, happy. But what is the process? Confusion and bewilderment also result when the process is not understood.
Enlightenment, for example, is merely a happening – or a series of happenings – that must take place for any sought-after shifts to happen. Some light has to shine on the fact that misunderstandings are at play. In the dull light, a rope can be misperceived as a snake (and snakes can be misperceived as harmless ropes); yet, among the non-Realized, misperceiving is not compartmentalized. There are not a few things that are misperceived. All things are misperceived.
[Maharaj: “All perceivables are stains. The entire universe is a stain.”]
Enlightenment involves reaching that understanding, but the hidden agendas of assumed and assigned ego-states and the egotism which defends them will usually prevent the masses from ever reaching that state.
Liberation is not the end, either, though those seeking freedom might think so. Liberation actually refers to being liberated from all personal / personality identification, yet what of all of the other remaining obstacles, such as learned ignorance and insanity? All of that too must go as well, so liberation is not the “end game,” either.
Then consider realization. There are actually stages to the realization process, including realizing that the misperceptions mentioned earlier are present; relatedly, realizing that one is not even capable of differentiating true from false;
realizing that ignorance was taught and learned and that one needs to be freed from all of that ignorance to even begin to be free; realizing that personality disorders developed as a result of personality identifications; and realizing that many of those disorders have now disintegrated into full blown neuroses and psychoses which must be treated.
[In the end, Maharaj said that realization is nothing more than the state which comes "when all belief in all learned ignorance is discarded."]
Had Maharaj not come to understand that dogma does not treat the Ultimate Sickness, then he’d have continued to talk to the end about svargam and narakam and karma and nirvana and multiple birth-life-death cycles and various planes of existence; too, he would not have said, “I have no faith in anything which has ever been told, not even what has been told by the Vedas. Only my own experience.”
Had Maharaj not come to understand that spirituality does not treat the Ultimate Sickness, then he’d have continued to talk to the end about spiritual topics instead of telling seekers to “just give up spirituality” and "whatever spiritual things you aspire to know are all happening in this objective world, in the illusion. All this is happening in the objective world. All is dishonesty. There is no truth in this fraud.” And he would not have advised them to abandon spiritual work and to follow "their normal inclinations" instead.
But what Maharaj did come to realize was that the Ultimate Sickness is a mental sickness - a sickness rooted not in a “sick spirit” or “spiritual malady” but rooted in the mind as a result of faulty programming and conditioning and domestication and acculturation and indoctrination and brainwashing. As a result, he also came to understand that the proper version of the Ultimate Medicine is a version which un-does all of that “mind stuff.”
The process he endorsed at the end involves de-programming, un-conditioning, undoing the effects of domestication, undoing the effects of acculturation, undoing the effects of indoctrination, and undoing the effects of brainwashing.
[He said, "If you seek reality you must set yourself free of all backgrounds, of all cultures, of all patterns of thinking and feeling."]
[He said, "If you seek reality you must set yourself free of all backgrounds, of all cultures, of all patterns of thinking and feeling."]
If you have a bleeding wound, you do not need someone to take a knife and make the incision even-deeper. That is why you do not need “a program” (which is properly named because it is merely re-programming you).
Instead, the need of all among the non-realized masses is the need to be de-programmed completely; thus, visitors here are told that there is no one here who wants them to believe anything and that – to the contrary – they are invited to discard all concepts, ideas, notions, perceptions, theories (a.k.a., “beliefs”) and to un-learn all;
they are also told that they were taught ignorance via faulty programming, conditioning etc.; and they are told as well that - rather than seeking someone to teach them more - they might consider finding someone who is about the business of un-teaching all in order that all can be un-learned.
Yet even all of that has been shared, some still ask, "But 'freed from' means freed from what, exactly?"

Here,
with those who are still driven to talk about "god," the "Son of god,"
the "Holy Spirit," "Buddha," "Krishna," etc., etc., etc., the invitation
to them is to view those as verbs, not nouns.
THE EXPLANATION
If
looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total
waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are
resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they
are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning?
There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept
of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa
Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in
close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and
glorify and give thanks to."
The
reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god
that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're
dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with
narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism
evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next,
in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had
her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part
of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the
"loving and caring" part.
"That
is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not
an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or
anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to
want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the
'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and
caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love
and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)
and
"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
--Yeshu'a (Jesus)
and
"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."
--Pope John Paul II
"There is no hell."
--Pope Francis, the current pope
in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That
said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core
concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional
courage required to question the very existence of their institution in
light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children
and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of
billions of their members past and present.
And
that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about
why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to
continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and
conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will
they? Not likely. Why?
Because
what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the
international crime families which hold sway over the masses as
criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major
international crime families and which are the most influential and have
the largest memberships?
The
Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion
followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while
laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank);
Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers)
like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and
sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created
environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies
like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With
all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership
ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be
they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business,
politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and
they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the
driving forces at play.
The
masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their
groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem
because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the
people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the
masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved
with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the
continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate
the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types
of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
