MAHARAJ’S SHIFTS AWAY FROM DOGMA, FROM SPIRITUAL PRACTICES, AND FROM A PREOCCUPATION WITH “THE NATURE OF REALITY AND THINGS NOUMENAL”
In the process of developing a commercially-viable light bulb, Thomas Edison actually went through over ten thousand prototypes before “getting it right.” Later he said, “I did not fail 10,000 times. I succeeded in proving that there are 10,000 ways that will not work. When I eliminated the ways that did not work, I found the way that worked.”
In the process of developing a viable method or approach for treating the Ultimate Sickness, Maharaj actually considered dozens of versions of the Ultimate Medicine before “getting it right.” He tried . . .
visiting and talking with many persons, and in the process, he was bombarded with talks about “nine forms of bhakti”; about "two types, about three stages, and about nine facets of bhakti"; about “the nine modes of bhakti,” including Archana, Atma-Nivedana, Dasya, Kirtana, Padasevana, Sakhya, Smarana, Sravana, Vandana;
about “four ways for practicing bhakti,” including to the Supreme Self (Atma-Bhakti); to God or the Cosmic Lord as a formless being (Ishvara-Bhakti); to God in the form of various Gods or Goddesses (Ishta Devata-Bhakti); and to God in the form of the Guru (Guru-Bhakti);
about “the nine processes of bhakti,” including, the chanting process; the complete surrender process; the deity worship process; the executing orders process; the hearing process; the praying process; the remembering process; the serving as a friend process; and the serving the lotus feet of the Lord process;
then he tried working with a guru, followed by years of consideration;
next, he isolated from his family and gave forest dwelling a shot;
later, he returned home and tried discussing the realization process / processes with hundreds of visitors who came to his shop;
he later tried to come up with a Hinduism / non-duality compound version of the Ultimate Medicine in which he encouraged singing and chanting and dancing about, and during those many sessions a day, he also conducted meditation sessions in which he tried to lead persons (if only temporarily) into the samadhi state.
From among all of the many, many types of bhakti with which he was inundated, he specifically tried
guru-bhakti;
god bhakti and a religious / non-duality compound version of the Ultimate Medicine;
setting aside the religious / non-duality compound version of the Ultimate Medicine;
he tried atma-bhakti;
he tried blending jnana yoga with non-duality;
he tried blending a spirituality / non-duality compound version of the Ultimate Medicine;
he tried setting aside the spirituality / non-duality compound version of the Ultimate Medicine;
he tried blending nisarga yoga with a non-duality compound version of the Ultimate Medicine;
and ultimately,
and ultimately,
he tried blending a nisarga yoga / non-duality / psychological compound version of the Ultimate Medicine.
As with Edison who seemingly had to find many ways that did not work in order to finally find a way that did work, Maharaj seemingly had to try many versions of the Ultimate Medicine which did not work before he finally found a version which did work.

An ancient and key pointer from the non-dual teachings had been circulated for thousands of years before Christ began sharing the non-dual message. It was this: “A dual-minded person is unstable in all ways.”
When one sees what Maharaj and thousands like him were being exposed to (including dogma; spiritual precepts and principles; guidelines; rules; instructions; religious and spiritual laws; forms, ways, processes; practices, etc.) how could anyone possibly - at least for a considerable period - not end up being dual-minded and triple-minded and quadruple-minded and multi-minded and, therefore, unstable in all ways, and in all the ways they tried to learn and teach?
Of course he tried his hand at formulating and dispensing many different versions of the Ultimate Medicine over the years, yet the perfectionistic, judgmental, obsessive-compulsive types who are critiquing him would also likely be the types to congratulate Edison for not giving up and trying 10,000 different ways to achieve what he sought to achieve. Yet they arrogantly slam Maharaj for not giving up and for trying dozens of different ways and methods and approaches in his effort to find an effective version of the Ultimate Medicine.
Maharaj, similar to Edison, could just as accurately have said, “I did not fail dozens of times. I succeeded in proving that dozens of versions of the Ultimate Medicine do not work. When I eliminated the ways that did not work, I found a way that can work for some seekers.”
Once he looked to the body-mind-personality triad, he came to realize that the Ultimate Sickness is not rooted in the body per se (though body-identification-only can be a contributing factor to the core issue);
he also came to realize that the Ultimate Sickness is not rooted in minds having been filled with too little dogma (persons having been exposed to dogma more than any other single thing on the planet); and he came to realize that the Ultimate Sickness is not rooted in some mystical, mythical “sick soul,” “spiritual malady” or “sick spirit.”

So then, he looked at the only other possible contributing factors:
(1) the mind (and the distorted and delusional and nonsensical ignorance and insanity with which it is filled via the distorted and delusional and nonsensical and ignorant and insane processes of programming and conditioning and acculturation and domestication and brainwashing and indoctrination to which all persons are exposed); and
(2) the assignment and assumption of false personal identities / roles / ego-states / personalities / personas / psychological masks and even Supreme Identities, all of which
--trigger egotism and the use of a plethora of other ego-defense mechanisms
and all of which
--perpetuate an attachment to ignorant beliefs
and all of which generate personality disorders which can deteriorate into neuroses and psychoses and insanity (all of which are dependent on, and evolve from, “the mind”).

THE EXPLANATION
If
looked at as nouns, they point to illusions and are, therefore, a total
waste of time to even discuss; if looked at as verbs which are
resulting in certain sane but rare behaviors among humanity, then they
are worthy of some attention during the relative existence.
Meaning?
There are members of certain groups who say things such as "My concept
of god in the past was of a weak god, an absentee god, A Santa
Claus-type god, a mean, punishing, vindictive god, etc. Today, I am in
close contact with a loving and caring god whom I worship and praise and
glorify and give thanks to."
The
reply to that usually goes like this: "If you are in contact with a god
that wants to be worshipped and praised and glorified, then you're
dealing with someone like yourself - a narcissist - and hanging out with
narcissists will never bring an end to your narcissism (that narcissism
evidenced by the fact that you think you are "godly").
Next,
in the phrase 'loving and caring god,' any supposed god that truly had
her or his act together would tell you that the totally irrelevant part
of that phrase is 'god' and that the only part that is relevant is the
"loving and caring" part.
"That
is, a non-narcissistic their god / their goddess would say, "I care not
an iota about being worshipped and praised and glorified by you or
anyone else. How arrogant and insecure and needy would I have to be to
want that? Forget the man-made, dreamed up noun 'god' and focus on the
'god as a verb' understanding and then go forth and let loving and
caring be verbs - not adjectives - and let them generate the act of love
and the act of caring and let those actions manifest through you."
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"

and
"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
but are states of mind, nothing more than
concepts dreamed up by men."

"There is no hell."
--Pope Francis, the current pope
in an interview with journalist Eugenio Scalfari,
a writer used by the Pope to issue off the record
teachings which become a part of the Papal Magisterium.
[That
said, would that the popes who have shown the courage to reject a core
concept of their dogma - namely, "hell" - would find the additional
courage required to question the very existence of their institution in
light of the centuries-long cover-up of their history of raping children
and in light of the mental and emotional and psychological scarring of
billions of their members past and present.
And
that need for courage also applies as questions need to be asked about
why so many other sky cults are still being supported and allowed to
continue to exist as well. When certain types of programming and
conditioning have been shown to blind the masses, they should end. Will
they? Not likely. Why?
Because
what the masses think and say and do is most influenced by the
international crime families which hold sway over the masses as
criminals conduct their planet-wide operations. What are the major
international crime families and which are the most influential and have
the largest memberships?
The
Mafia / La Cosa Nostra; the Catholic Church (with it 1.2 billion
followers) whose Vatican Bank worked for decades with the Mafia while
laundering mob earnings (for a 15% all-profit charge by the Bank);
Protestant and Evangelical Churches (with over 1.2 billion followers)
like the one I was raised in where the youth director molested and
sexually assaulted young girls; big business which has long created
environments in which people have been abused; powerful political bodies
like the U.S. Congress, etc., etc., etc.)
With
all of those crime families, neither the followers nor the leadership
ever voluntarily step down or shut down their criminal activities. Be
they gangs, organized crime families, religions, big business,
politicians, etc., they all want control and they all want power and
they all want money, and nothing internal will interfere with the
driving forces at play.
The
masses must demand that all those in charge must step down and their
groups and institutions must shut down, and there's the real problem
because the continuation of their crimes are enabled not as much by the
people running such crime organizations as they are enabled by the
masses of people who - wanting some perceived "payoff" - remain involved
with them and give them money and support them and aid and abet the
continued existence of those criminal enterprises and thus facilitate
the ability of church criminals and political criminals and other types
of criminals to continue to commit their crimes.]
