Maharaj: “It is the dance of the conscious presence.”
If you watched the video which was shared here earlier and which showed a two-year-old child dancing, you saw an illustration of this non-dual, Nisargan message: "Whatever happens in nature happens spontaneously and automatically."
All in nature happens in the exact same manner as was the case with those children who spontaneously and automatically - with no training or dance lesson at all - broke into dance. The children in the video offer an example of how natural abidance happens.
When two adults enter into an act of friction which results in sperm coming into contact with an egg, triggering the “reproductive process,” there is no further action required from the sperm donor or from the “mother-to-be” except for her to continue either to eat plants for the next nine months or to eat something which ate plants for the next nine months.
As for "the process," it is totally automatic and spontaneous as plant cells automatically and spontaneously convert into human cells. As is the case with a child breaking spontaneously into dance upon hearing the sound of rhythmic music, so too does everything in nature function spontaneously . . . except for humans who are driven by the hidden agendas of assigned and assumed personality identifications and who are driven by the learned ignorance passed down via bogus concepts which are taught by the ignorance-driven adults who force-feed their learned ignorance to one generation after another. Except for programmed and conditioned humans, every living thing abides naturally and spontaneously and instinctively and intuitively.
Maharaj said: “Whatever happens, happens by itself. All this is a show of (or the expression of) consciousness, and the nature of it is change. It is the dance of conscious presence.”
When the children in the video break spontaneously into dance, what are they concerned with? Nothing. When they are enjoying unconditional happiness during any given moment, what was first required to be in place? Nothing. Their happiness is . . . unconditional.
They do not yet behave as adults who think: “Once I have ‘A’ and ‘B’ and ‘C’ and ‘D’ as well as ‘E through Z’ all in place, then only will I be able to relax and take it easy and enjoy what presently is, which actually means, “I don’t really care about the fun which could be enjoyed during the journey. I only care about reaching the destination (though my history shows that reaching any given destination has never proven to be enough and that I always soon need to set out for another destination which might finally be the one which proves to be fulfilling”).
Following “It is the dance of the conscious presence,” Maharaj continued: “There are so many ways which consciousness entertains itself. Many different forms, abilities, and capacities are functioning, but the functioning is merely to entertain itself. When it is tired, it rests in sleep; when it awakes, it needs some kind of entertainment, some movement, some doing.”
But, he said: “They are all appearances in consciousness. Each will last according to its own duration, but basically, nothing that happens has any validity or importance. Until the awakening, or understanding, you think that you are the doer, but once this apperception takes place, you know there is no entity that is working.”
Instead, it is really nothing more than “the dance of the conscious presence.” Not "the dance of the consciousness doingness"? No. Not the dance of "the conscious doer?” No.
Consider the implied message on the cover of Dancing Lightly:
There are six figures partially representing the degrees of separation from identifying with the false "I" to abidance as the Absolute. Let the first figure denote the space that stands between the first step "I" and the second step "mind"; the second figure can symbolize the gap between the "mind" and personality; the third can correspond to the chasm between the third step personality and the fourth step . . . the "not-knowing stage," etc.
Obviously, the figures epitomize some sort of "evolution," and there can be - during the relative existence of even "the realized" - a type of evolution. (See for example the book entitled "Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj and His Evolution.")
In fact, the "journey" from the darkness to the light of "Full Realization" is not as much an evolutionary process as a cleansing - a housecleaning process - if you will; it does not involve learning more but is focused eventually on unlearning all. But, like any evolutionary process, there are steps or stages which must be passed through along the way.
Eventually, for all seekers that travel the entire "path" to its end, there awaits the possibility of overlaying Reality upon the relative. Once that happens, then everything involved with Advaita - and with all things relative - can be likened to a dance . . . to a dance that takes place in the lightest and most entertaining of fashions.
Dancing is natural, happening at the most basic level of all that is functioning in this universe, even at the sub-atomic level. At this very moment, within every cell of your body, the sub-atomic elements are dancing. They dance automatically and spontaneously, and if one is fully awake and aware and conscious, then one feels the harmony from within and is able to contribute to the harmony without (or, at least, does not disrupt it if it is happening).
It was explained this way to a visitor named Vignesh who described himself as "Hindu by birth but investigating Advaita":
What is timeless is that which preceded this universe. You should be able to see now that a void cannot “have” consciousness. You should be able to see that within a space that was once a void, an atom manifested and at a subatomic level, its elements were conscious of the other elements as they all moved in a dance of synchronicity. As for "Vignesh," where once there was a void of sorts, consciousness manifested within a space and now Vignesh is involved in a dance.
The dance should be an entertaining dance . . . as if the Self were engaged in a movement with itSelf, understanding the Oneness and, therefore, understanding the "not-two-ness" of the Am-ness and the THAT-ness.
During that dance, the speck of consciousness called “Vignesh” would know that neither the body nor the mind nor any personality or persona is experiencing anything. It would be understood, instead, that all which is phenomenal merely appears in that Light Which You Truly Are. Then the dance can last throughout the remainder of the manifestation and will happen with no more concern than that shown by an electron as it dances about in the space of an atom.
In order to participate in the dance, one must un-learn all that she / he has been told. You have been dancing “their” dance . . . The Dance of the Mirage, The Dance of the Lie. Rather than dancing spontaneously and in harmony, they actually programmed you not to dance lightly but to march about stiffly instead.
Some were trained to tramp, to stamp, to stomp, to tread heavily, to march about stiffly. The wise avoid those types, just as the deer do when they are resting in the cool blue shade, only to have noisy and violent persons show up to disturb their peace and rob them of their rest. They merely rise and move deeper into the silence of the woods, steering clear of those who cast their internal disturbances onto all who stay around them.
Understand: "they" programmed you to march to the beat of their drum which is pounding out an unnatural or supernatural beat. Marching to the beat of their drum will never allow one to enter into the smooth and even flow of the dance of awareness, the dance of freedom, the dance of peace, the dance of joy, the dance of all that is nisarga (natural).
Whereas “they” told you that you are Hindu by birth, you now have an opportunity to awaken to the truth, to know that you are not Vignesh, not Hindu, not born, and not headed to a rebirth or series of rebirths. There is this time only, this moment only.
Thus the invitation is this:

THE EXPLANATION
Yeshu'a (Jesus) and Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis were spot on:
"No one shall ever see 'the kingdom of heaven.' It is within"
and
"Heaven and earth shall fade away."
and
"Heaven and hell are not geographic places
"There is no hell."
