CONTINUITY OF BODY-MIND-PERSONALITY LATER? THERE IS NO CONTINUITY EVEN NOW! Part Two

Here, there is nothing that is believed, so there is no one here who wants you to believe anything, either. Here, the invitation is to be free of all that you have been programmed, conditioned, acculturated, and domesticated to believe so that you can be free, period.

FROM A SITE VISITOR: about your comment when you said - which have resulted in invasions and attacks and wars and, subsequently, more deaths than all causes combined except for natural causes - rather cynical I believe.

F.: Maybe, yet do not take “my” word for it. Contact any major television network and see if one of their reporters will provide for you the following information: of the last 500 fatal, video-taped explosions from anywhere on the planet which they have shown on their news reports, ask how many of those explosions were detonated by religious people and how many were detonated by non-religious people.

Exclude no religions. Count Muslim rockets fired into Israel; Jewish (U.S.) bombs dropped on Lebanon; the bombs a Christian president ordered dropped on Iraq and Afghanistan and the bombs dropped then and now in Pakistan; count also the most recent explosions set off in the streets and buildings of Mumbai.

Count Islamic suicide bombers in the Middle and Far East, and count those warriors in the U.S. Armed Forces who are conducting Christian religious services on their military bases in Muslim territories and who hold hands in a circle and pray to their Christian god before every bombing mission.

Add in the total number of deaths from the holocausts in the Americas and in Europe and from the Catholic Inquisition and from all of the religious wars in Western Europe. Then, let the facts determine if the pointer is cynical or factual. To continue:

Religions, spiritual movements, recovery groups, cults and ideologies all program and condition persons to buy into the dualities of “this life vs. that life,” “good vs. bad,” “reward vs. punishment,” and “eternal continuity of body-mind-personality.”

Ignoring all of the scientific evidence to the contrary, and all visible evidence of what happens post-manifestation to the elements that had formed a plant food body, the leaders in those groups tell their membership a conglomeration of nonsensical tales about "continuity" in order to keep them coming back and to keep them giving money to those groups on a daily or weekly basis for a lifetime.

And in order to control the thoughts and words and deeds of their membership, those leaders speak of the duality of an "eternally blissful continuity" vs. an "eternally tortured continuity."

However, Maharaj said,

“Memory creates the illusion of continuity” and “In the great mirror of consciousness, images arise and disappear and only memory gives them continuity.”

He said, “Anything that implies a continuity, a sequence, a passing from stage to stage cannot be the real” and “The false self wants to continue – pleasantly; therefore, it is always engaged in ensuring one's continuity.”

He said, “Feelings, thoughts and actions race before the watcher in endless succession, leaving traces in the brain and creating an illusion of continuity. A reflection of the watcher in the mind creates the sense of 'I' and the person acquires an apparently independent existence. In reality there is no person, only the watcher identifying himself with the 'I' and the 'mine'.”

He said, “The final answer is this: nothing is. All is a momentary appearance in the field of the universal consciousness; continuity as name and form is a mental formation only, easy to dispel,” and “Discontinuity is the law.”

Is the concept of continuity a lie and is the concept of discontinuity a fact merely because Maharaj said so? No. Continuity is known to be false because it can be proven false, and discontinuity is understood to be fact because it can be proven scientifically to be fact, contrary to all religious and spiritual concepts which cannot be proven to be true at all.

However, as a result of [a] learned ignorance and as a result of [b] having been programmed to give inordinate value to "faith" (which lulls "The Faithful Persons" to sleep), all of the "contradictory empirical data" that refute their teachings and beliefs and concepts and ideas will seldom inspire programmed and conditioned believers to abandon their belief in what is total nonsense.

That which should readily be seen as ancient nonsense that was rooted in myths and superstitions, and that has been brought forward to form modern dogma and presently-held spiritual beliefs that are kindergarten level at best, is neither seen to be nonsense nor abandoned; instead, those beliefs are inspiring millions across the globe to kill other persons who refuse to accept those beliefs as fact. How can the actual facts be so totally ignored?

In that regard, this was received this morning:

"Just read in the paper yesterday that in Dublin the government has officially concluded, and the Catholic church affirmed, that for decades all 19 orders of priests and nuns molested and raped children. The church simply covered it all up and protected and reassigned priests. I don't think I can chuckle any longer at your characterizations of the priests.

"I am not sure why every Catholic did not demand that after an outside investigation that every single person involved in the acts or the cover-ups be thrown out of the church. But, then again, I am a Catholic and did not officially leave the church. Really, Floyd, how could anyone trust a leadership hierarchy that condoned, by their actions, this rape of children? Oh, well, it's nothing you haven't been saying for years and years."

The reply: The Catholics do not have a monopoly on the dissemination of nonsense and on a tolerance of violence and on the propagation of relative harm that can be witnessed among many aligned with a variety of modern religions;

for now, however, you are invited to go into the quiet and find out why "every Catholic did not demand" and why you did not "officially leave the church" and you'll understand the reason that 6.5 billion persons have the Sickness of the Planet and why these teachings are the Ultimate Medicine.

Then, see that with six decades of opportunity to wake up and to have the courage to move away from those propagators of nonsense and relative harm, you are still "dancing with the devils"; then, look to a young mother named Ashley who wrote to this site at the end of May and thereafter to report the harassment she underwent after determining courageously (at a much younger age than you) that she was going to end her child's exposure to the programming and conditioning of her church's teachings.

Then, use that young woman's bravery as your model for the kind of courage you could be capable of if you would walk the road less traveled...the "path" less traveled.

As for all other visitors to this site, you would not be here unless you had some inkling that there is a reality that has nothing to do with the religious dogma and / or spiritual concepts that constituted the programming and conditioning to which you have been subjected.

Now, You are invited to question it all, to study the contradictory empirical data that prove those teachings are false, and then begin Your quest for The Truth with earnestness. After finding The Truth, You will abandon all of the game-playing and work and angst that are inspired by a belief in the concepts of continuity and of eternal punishment or reward; then, freed from all preoccupations, You will be able to enjoy naturally the bliss that can only be known NOW.
