NOTHING

An Advaita forum focusing on Realisation, enlightenment, non-duality, Real Love, peace, freedom, Your original nature, abiding naturally, the Oneness, the Nothingness, and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Here, there is nothing that is believed, so there is no one here who wants you to believe anything, either. Here, the invitation is to be free of all that you have been programmed, conditioned, acculturated, and domesticated to believe so that you can be free, period.

F.: The following is a compilation of questions that have been asked over the years, some paraphrased as closely to the original queries as can be recalled, along with the common answer offered in each case:

Questioner: What do you believe?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What do you consider yourself to be?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What part of all the dogma being fought over right now around the globe would you say is not crazy?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What is this relative existence all about?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: You said something predated even the Absolute in this universe. What is it?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Of all the knowledge I've gathered in my life, what should I hold onto?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Surely you would admit that some good has come from organized religion. Tell me, of all that religion has done for the last five thousand years, what has happened that was beneficial?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Surely there is some meaning to my life. What is the meaning?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: So let's say you do discard every thought and idea and belief in the mind. Something must surely remain. What would be left after all of that is discarded?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: If you give up every identity you have or ever had, what would be left?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Right now, what exists for you...other than the "I AM"?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What is it that has made you so free?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What of this "floyd" can be said to be permanent?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What of birth?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What of death?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What of resurrection?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What of reincarnation?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What of an afterlife...reward...punishment?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: So what is this world as far as you are concerned or as far as you perceive?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: So what do you have that I do not have?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Well what do I need to learn that I do not yet know in order to Realize?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: So if I contemplate every pointer you offer and apply the Advaitin principles to every aspect of my life, what shall I gain?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: But if I understand fully the nothingness you speak of, if I am finally able someday to touch the nothingness, then what will I say that I am?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What is necessary?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Let me get this straight: Love says you are everything, but wisdom says you are...?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What must I know of these teachings in order to be able to help others?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: So what's wrong with trying to help others?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: So what IS born?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: We all have had our share of setbacks and misfortunes and even great adversities. What has happened to you?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Other than coming to an understanding of Truth myself, what can I do to help change the world?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Of all of Advaita's teachings, what - in the end - is most important?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What do you worry about?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What do you think about?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What do you do in your spare time?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What are you dependent on?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What do you do in terms of spiritual exercises?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Do you care at all about the seekers who are trying to find their way through this relative nightmare?
F.: As my teacher said, "More than you shall ever know."

Q.: Then what will you feel if people do not come to hear this message?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: And what will you feel if you offer the message and people criticize you or the message?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What will you feel if Nisarga Yoga remains the least popular of all yogas even after you offer it to all who come your way?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: If this interview could be broadcast to everyone in the world, what would you tell the listeners that you would like for them know right now?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Then what do you want?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: Well what do you fear?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What is my purpose other than just living?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: What is your purpose other than just living?
F.: Nothing.

Q.: But you are teaching?....
F.: Nothing.

I would like to extend deepest appreciation towards you for these teachings that you have offered. It has been most valuable towards what may not have been revealed throughout this manifestation labeled "anthony." Understanding Truth and finding words for gratitude are one as is all. Thank you again for pointing "me" to THAT and the understanding that came as well. Hopeful for future "contact"! Sincerely, Anthony M. W.

The Twice-Stolen Necklace Murders offers the non-duality message by way of a mystery-adventure novel, discussing the movement from pain to healing to awakening to peace.
From Dr. R.F. Maley, Ph.D, Professor Emeritus and former Head of the Department of Psychology, University of Houston: "Floyd Henderson's book, The Twice-Stolen Necklace Murders, is a fun read and an interesting mystery, but perhaps more importantly it serves as a vehicle for blending Eastern Philosophy and Native American Spirituality to make an intellectually challenging novel. The book's insights into both relationships and authoritarian conditioning of people in our society make it a must read, tracing the roots of narcissistic, sociopathic and psychopathic behaviors to the very core of the culture. This truly witty and politically-incorrect study of the aggressive nature of 'the American character' offers not only a diagnosis but also a treatment plan, making the book an excellent supplemental reading in courses such as psychology, anthropology, philosophy, sociology and counseling."
