F.: The invitation for the prior three days has been to understand That Which You Truly Are Which Cycles by first understanding what you are not, which also involves cyclings.
It is the planet-wide cycling of lies and false concepts and bogus beliefs and myth-based dogma that imprison persons. Some say, "Floyd, dogma does not imprison - it is what frees people." Really?
It is little exaggeration to report that a man and woman now in their late 80's were so obsessed with imposing their Catholic beliefs on their children in the 1950's to 1970's that they created a reign of terror in their home.
Their dogmatic rigidity inspired them to organize their own mini-Inquisition of constant investigation and constant punishment when their children "fell short of the expectations of the church and God" (which the children were determined to have done all day, every day).
Their parents' religious fanaticism-inspired covert surveillance and invasion of privacy and inordinate supervision and excessive efforts to control led to the uncovering of what their dogma described as "one offense against God after another."
And when the parents determined that their children had "offended God" (by such natural acts as masturbation, for example, a.k.a., "wasting the seed") the most brutal punishments imaginable (and, unimaginable) were imposed.
If a teenage girl in the home was discovered to have kissed a boy, she was stripped and then beaten with a leather strap. One child in the late 1950's was deemed to be "so rebellious against God and church and parents" that the parents had her subjected to a series of Electroconvulsive (electroshock) Treatments that finally ended her "rebelliousness" by leaving her in a near catatonic state as a teen and in a totally dysfunctional state as an adult now, some fifty years later.
One of the children said recently, "We were so scarred both physically and psychically as children that now, as adults, the best that can be said of all of the children is that we were made into 'mental grotesques' or 'emotional defectives'."
She continued, "If any child in that home was not left insane as a result of our parents' religious fanaticism, then at the least all are suffering from a variety of mental and emotional problems and personality disorders."
And now, of interest, is the fact that the parents' religion is the source of their own dis-ease, their own constant discomfort, their own anxiety, and their own stress and worry because they are not sure that they were "good enough to have earned the right to spend eternity with their Lord and Savior."
The parents are now paralyzed by their religion-inspired fear, just as their children were while in the prison called "their childhood home." And the Realized Advaitin understands that their ultimate prison now is "the mind" and understands that each belief and concept and idea therein is one of the bars that form the prison of the mind and that guarantee their continuing incarceration.
The parents' perverted legacy has touched not only the lives of their children but is now affecting their grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are suffering from the fallout of what has become a generational plague of a mental and emotional variety. Literally, hundreds have led and are leading lives of misery and suffering as a result of two people who were lost in the WHONESS of their ultra-religious personas and the monomania that ensued.
What if those parents had understood the lies of misidentification and known that they were not "The Great Christians" or "The Godly Catholics" or "The Instruments of God on Earth"?
What is they has understood that all that is involved with any space that is thought to be a person in really just a temporary manifestation of conscious-energy in an elemental space or form that is circulating air?
And what if that understanding had happened trillions of times over the past several thousand years? How much relative misery and suffering could have been avoided over the millennia?
What if those two parents - and the 6.7 billion people presently engrossed in dogma, along with the trillions of others in the past who were similarly separated from Truth and Reality - had not bought into the myth-and-superstition-based fiction that has been used for thousands of years to try to control persons and to try to make them abandon all natural behaviors and adopt unnatural and / or supernatural behaviors?
What if all sense of WHONESS had not existed at all and what if abidance had occurred in a fashion that overlays Reality on the relative...that allows the I AM THAT to be overlaid upon the I AM as one?
The suffering that has plagued the non-Realized persons of the planet - and all who have had the misery of contact with them during the relative existence - cannot be quantified; however, the effects can be computed readily enough by those that are awake enough to see the degree of perverseness that marks the relative existence of the billions of persons who are living unnaturally and "supernaturally."
It can be seen readily by witnessing the wasting of energy and money and time in the efforts of persons to live supernaturally and, thereby, to assume and maintain their latest phony roles (such as "The Wonderfully-Religious One" or "The Spiritual Giant"), roles that they are now using to replace their former "bad roles."
Only if the Truth of WHAT IS is understood (which can lead in turn to the discarding of the false beliefs that lead to identification with the WHONESS which really is NOT) can sanity be restored...
...can the ill effects of personality defects be eliminated...can logic and reason prevail...and can awareness replace the mass ignorance that now marks and mars the relative existence of billions of persons around the globe.
Tomorrow: The thousands of people in U.S. prisons who are literally incarcerated as a result of misidentification and how they are representative of the mental and emotional condition of the billions of non-Realized persons on the planet
