A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
A REVIEW AND SUMMATION OF THE KEY UNDERSTANDINGS THAT CAME VIA THE VISION
F.: [Note: At the end of this series, site visitors that are interested will be given information for receiving a downloadable version of the complete vision series, with illustrations. You'll also be able to have us send copies to anyone else of your choosing as well.]
[Continued from the previous post] Other clarifications that came via the vision follow. NOTE: An entire glossary - relevant to those early on in the seeking process but including pointers for those far along "the path" - is available in the eBook below entitled "FROM THE I TO THE ABSOLUTE (A Seven-Step Journey to Reality)" which is also included in the paperback four-book anthology entitled, "The Advanced Seekers' Series."
A REVIEW AND SUMMATION OF THE KEY
UNDERSTANDINGS THAT CAME VIA THE VISION
17. The vision made clear that while a guide or guru can be a temporary requirement for assisting one in reaching the arch - that is, for putting a seeker on the proper path and headed in the proper direction away from body identification alone - the movement through the steps to the final dissolution, to the total understanding, and to full Realization did not happen in congregations or flocks or assemblies or groups or gatherings or meetings or in any venue that is not a natural one.
18. The vision showed that most use needless and superfluous and gratuitous venues. (Those venues can now be seen to include churches; spiritual groups; temples; mosques; ashrams; cathedrals; synagogues; "houses of worship"; shrines; places on earth that some deem to be "special and holy and mystical"; groups that chant; groups around tables with captive audiences where the abnormal norm is to talk and talk and talk; groups with members who become emotionally-intoxicated and roll around on the floor during their services; groups that speak "in tongues" that they claim are "unknown, even to them"; groups that hum or chant; groups that ring "special" bells or hit "special bowls" with "special sticks" or who smell "special" smoke and do things with "special" water; or in any other man-made structure or any man-designated place).
19. The vision made clear that none of those unnatural and / or supposedly supernatural complications are necessary.
20. In the vision, it was made clear that all happened privately, alone in a natural setting, not in any place made by man for the purpose of "worship" or "idolization" or "reverence" or "veneration" or for the purpose of showing off one's assigned or assumed religious and / or spiritual roles or for any other unnatural or supposedly-supernatural purpose.
21. In the vision, it was made clear that all happened without the accompaniment of smoke screens and bells and whistles and earthly choirs or "heavenly" choirs.
22. The vision made clear that Realization requires no shouting or chanting or singing or screaming or babbling by other people because, in the vision, there were no other people.
23. The vision made clear not only exactly what is required for full Realization (which is minimal) but also made clear what is not required (additions which, on this planet, are excessive and extreme and disproportionate to what, in the end, is a process that was shown in the vision to be exactly as Maharaj described: "simple").
24. The vision made clear that the Absolute (the so-called "Ultimate Reality" or "Great Reality") is actually nothing more than an all-pervasive "field of energy" in which pre-manifestation consciousness is at rest in the form of Awareness; and consciousness itself was shown to be, merely and simply, conscious-energy, energy which has, as one property, a propensity for "conscious-of-ness" when manifested.
25. The vision showed that the Absolute is merely that "field of energy" from which consciousness can be drawn into manifestation.
26. The vision also depicted the "field" to which consciousness returns during the unmanifesting.
27. The vision showed THAT Which All Is; showed the conscious-energy Itself; illustrated that purest, unadulterated "whatever" that All Is; and revealed what the lowest, tiniest common "something" is (which All in this universe is and which all in all universes is or "was").
28. The vision showed that ALL is without beginning and without end with nothing ever having been "created," with nothing ever having been "destroyed," and, therefore, with nothing ever in need of an "Other-Worldly, All-Powerful (yet really inefficient) Sustainer."
29. In the vision, not once did a "Creator" or "Destroyer" or "Sustainer" appear.
30. In the vision, all happened spontaneously and without any single cause or "causer" or "Causer."
31. In the vision, nothing that happened had any unnatural or supernatural / religious / spiritual element. All happened naturally; hence, the incorporation of the Nisarga Yoga with the Direct Path Teaching Method that is used here.
To be continued.

A REVIEW AND SUMMATION OF THE KEY UNDERSTANDINGS THAT CAME VIA THE VISION
F.: Other clarifications that came via the vision follow. NOTE: An entire glossary - relevant to those early on in the seeking process but including pointers for those far along "the path" - is available in the eBook below entitled "FROM THE I TO THE ABSOLUTE (A Seven-Step Journey to Reality)" which is also included in the paperback, four-book anthology entitled, "The Advanced Seekers' Series."
1. The vision made clear that there are seven degrees of separation from Reality that come about during the initial "coming in process" (that is, during the process of manifesting-and-being-programmed-conditioned, etc.); therefore, there are seven specific steps during the "reversing" - the "going back" - that must be undertaken to move from body identification to full Realization.
2. [That understanding, in turn, made clear that - as Maharaj often said - attaining Realization really is a fairly simple process. Once "the Absolute" and "Realization" have been stripped of all of the conceptualized and exalted and illustrious and elevating and glorifying acclaim that has been attached to them over the centuries, then the simple process of manifesting and unmanifesting as illustrated in the vision can be seen and understood. There is nothing special about the manifestation, and the vision makes most clear that there is nothing special about unmanifesting.]
3. The vision made clear that if - at the third step - seekers do not stop playing any and all false roles (including their false religious and spiritual roles), then they will never move beyond the third of seven steps and they will never Realize; in fact, when stuck at the third of seven steps, they will obviously never even reach the halfway point to Realization. [That, in turn, made clear Maharaj's point that there are those who are standing in the dim light of dawn but are imaginings that they have completed the full journey and are now being bathed in the bright light of the noonday sun.]
4. The vision made clear that nothing is born and that nothing dies and that all that is happening is a cycling of the energy-matter that has always existed.
5. The vision made clear that, because energy-matter can neither be created nor destroyed, there is no creator and there is no destroyer.
6. The vision made clear that if that is nothing created or destroyed, it is a fact that there is no "Creator" and no "Destroyer" and, thus most certainly, no need during the relative for a Sustainer.
7. The vision made clear that manifesting and unmanifesting happen spontaneously and that neither involves any meaning or purpose at all.
8. The vision made clear that there should be as little focusing on - and being concerned about - one's unmanifesting as there is about one's next breath.
9. The vision made clear that there is no "one" to benefit from being religious, spiritual, virtuous, or "good" and that it is an understanding of the Oneness and Love that leads the Realized away from any desire to harm anyone.
10. [To some Subject-Object observers, the Realized might appear to be "good" even as the Realized reject the dualistic concept of "good vs. evil" and "moral vs. immoral." As far as explaining the non-Realized's labeling of some people as "evil," it was seen via careful consideration of what happens during the vision and via what did not happen in the vision (namely, judgment, eternal reward vs. eternal punishment, eternal pain vs. eternal pleasure, etc.) that in the absence of there being any chance at all that the concepts of "good" and "evil" are valid, then the only other plausible explanation for what the masses call "evil acts" is offered by Maharaj who saw the problem of humanity as being rooted in "ignorance and stupidity and insanity." That understanding of actual "motivation and cause" eliminates any overly-simplistic, dualistic explanation for human conduct and also allows for understanding the real issues that need to be addressed rather than dismissing any act that is thought to be unsavory as "evil."]
11. Therefore, the vision also made clear that there is no post-dissolution reward or punishment.
12. The vision made clear that the Second Law of Thermodynamics does accurately point to the non-dual fact that things merely come together spontaneously and that all things will eventually come apart spontaneously. All in between that is taken be "a life" is "much ado about nothing."
13. The vision made clear that fear is based in not understanding and that courage is based in the understanding of the functioning of the totality that follows Realization.
14. The vision made clear that body and mind and personality identification are all obstacles to Realization and that each step that moves one away from those is a step that moves a seeker closer to Realization.
15. The vision made clear that manifesting, Realizing, abiding sanely and unmanifesting are all legs of what is, overall, a "four-part, four-leg journey."
16. The vision made clear that abidance as one's Original Nature is sane and natural and that anything else is unnatural (including things deemed "supernatural" or "spiritual").
To be continued.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: A surge in the number of site visitors from certain countries has been reported recently by the site manager. Greetings are extended not only to the steady stream of dedicated visitors from the U.S. but also now to higher numbers of those from Poland, Malaysia, Russia, Canada, France, Ukraine, the U.K., the Netherlands, and China. Welcome all earnest seekers. To continue with the on-going series:
Visitors to the site are being given access into the consciousness "in real time" in order to see exactly how the understanding unfolded, step-by-step, as every part of the vision - and The Understanding - eventually became clear. What is being quoted (in green) are the revelations that were emanating from the inner resource - that is, via the pure consciousness ... the inner guru - as the final blockages were falling away and allowing access to that which had always been known, within.
[Continued from previous post] The point regarding the "legs": every human will undergo LEG ONE and LEG FOUR. The Realized will undergo LEGS ONE, TWO and THREE and then eventually LEG FOUR.
Ultimately, therefore, none of this matters "in the end." All "ends up the same." See? No difference. "So why Realize at all, then?" some ask. "Why even undergo LEGS TWO and THREE?"
The answer: because that does involve a difference, the difference being a post-LEG TWO and post-LEG THREE relative existence that is no longer marked and marred by what Maharaj called "ignorance, stupidity, insanity" or by excessive, unmet desires and excessive fear.
Instead, what marks the remainder of the relative existence is wisdom, reason, logic, sanity and Love. That and that alone is the only grounds for seeking Realization and for then overlaying it on the relative.
So that's much of what came via a study of the content of the vision. What was also seen were "The Degrees of Separation from Reality" that result when the "coming in" process is exposed to programming, conditioning, acculturation, domestication, indoctrination, and brainwashing.
Moreover, what was seen were the exact steps - steps which must be completed in an exact manner - in order to follow Maharaj's advice in this regard, namely:
“…You should go back, reverse, to the source"
and
“Follow the same path by which you came.”
Finally, once the understanding of the functioning of the totality came, then all sorts of others parts of the teachings that I had been exposed to - but which I did not grasp either fully or at all - suddenly made sense. Looking back over some of those parts, this was seen in regards to those:
MOKSHA
Moving through the dome and returning to an energy-only form which maintained the capacity to understand long enough to see the functioning of the totality before final dissolution made clear what "moksha" - the emancipation and liberation - was all about: there was no sense of personhood remaining, no sense of self, no sense of Self, no sense of any worldly existence or post-worldly existence remaining. After the subsequent post-Realization third leg "return" to reality, the relative existence (which is then seen for what it really is and as it truly is) was also marked by that same freedom and liberation, unfolding spontaneously now with no sense of personhood remaining, no sense of self, no sense of Self, no sense of any worldly or other-worldly existence remaining.
SAMSKARA
The second (mental) step in the vision made clear that memories, samskaras, are totally fictional.
NIRGUNA
After the "going back" via the vision and then "the coming back" via the third leg, the ability to function as that which is no longer conditioned ("The Unconditioned") was not just understood. It has manifested fully, alongside "The No Longer Programmed," "The No Longer Domesticated," "The No Longer Acculturated," "The No Longer Indoctrinated," "The No Longer Brainwashed," "The No Longer Personal," and "The No Longer Identifiable With Any Words"; thus:
Lao Tzu: "The Tao which can be expressed in words is not the eternal Tao; the name which can be uttered is not its eternal name." Bingo, Lao.
VYAKTA
The "unmanifested" was finally understood and has since been explained here in this manner: Unmanifesting is the movement of consciousness (which was temporarily manifested into a space) back into that "field of conscious-energy" from which it came. Some speak of three bodies to help students picture the movement. Consider the gross body to be the space housing manifested consciousness that remained outside the arch in the vision; take the subtle body to represent something shifting beyond the personal, gross body in the cave; and take the causal body evolving into the light to correspond to the transpersonal stage that precedes total transcendence to the Unmanifest ... to the no-body and no-mind Reality. In Eastern teachings, the causal body is often considered to be the vehicle used to reach the "higher plane." Some speak of phenomenal and noumenal (i.e., that which is understood without the use of the basic senses).
DEHA
Deha was understood as the physical body which was left outside the arch during the "going back" stage and which the conscious-energy "re-enters" in its re-purified form after the third leg is completed and after Reality is overlaid on the relative; then, the body-cum-pure-unblocked-consciousness moves throughout the remainder of the manifestation with the absence of ignorance, stupidity and insanity and with the presence of a pure sense of presence, of logic, of reason, of understanding.
NETI-NETI
The vision made clear through its various stages of dissolution that there is nothing that can be accurately said to be either "this" or "that." Like someone who had been senselessly dragging along a bag of rocks all of his or her life, each step on "the path" allows for the discarding of part of that extra, needless weight - the discarding of another weighty belief, of another weighty role being played - until eventually there were no more questions remaining about "Am I the self or the Self?" or "Am I ultimately some Supreme Self or not?"
All such questions were done with, ending with the understanding of "Neti-Neti" and all the rest of what was revealed via the vision.
THE THREE PARTS OF ANTAHKARANA
It was seen that intellect (the capacity to understand) was a necessity; it was understood that "the mind" (the mental body moving through the arch and into the forest) is fictional ... nothing more than a dream with its movement through trees and across water; and it was understood that belief in ego - in the false "I" and in all of the false non-Selves that were played out in the vision before the Pure Witnessing came into consciousness of ItSelf - had to go. And it was seen that one of the last vestiges of ego was represented by the raven - the one carrying about a sense of being "spiritual" - though "The Seeker" role had to be played for a while longer even after the "Super Religious One" or the "Spiritual Giant" role was discarded.
MAHA-SATTVA
The harmonious existence that comes after completing "the journey" to full Realization - which eliminates all fear and provides courage in its place - became understood. Indeed, "The Supreme Harmony" seemed as appropriate a way to describe that post-Realization existence as there is.
AVATARA
It was seen - after seeing the vision reversed - how the incarnation of Awareness happens, how it "descends" into a manifest form that is a composite unity ... a triad of an elemental plant food body with air and temporarily manifested consciousness that can - via Realization - become aware of Awareness and its Original Nature.
NIRVANA
The events that are to come someday - and that were previewed in the cave and the dome and beyond - made clear all that is involved with "the final dissolution." And as noted, what was also made clear was that "the final dissolution" will be just fine when it comes. Having "pre-experienced" the final dissolution on LEG TWO, it loses among the Realized all of it power to instill fear and concern and worry (which is exactly what it does among the non-Realized masses when they consider "dissolution" or "death" and the potential for subsequent, eternal "punishment" or near-endless "re-cycling").
PRAKRITI
My Original Nature and Your Original Nature became understood fully. That "cosmic substance" that is merely a specialized form of energy became understood, and the uncaused, not-caused, "no Creator-caused" cause of the phenomenal existence became clear as well.
ATMA / ATMAN
It was seen that there is no self or Self or eternal self-ness or Self-ness when it was seen that the eagle - which eventually dissolves - represented what is referred to as "The True Self" or "The Real Self" and that those merely refer to Pure Witnessing.
And there came an understanding of much, much more. Those other "parts" are shared and discussed in detail in the thousands of free posts on the Advaita website and in the topic-specific eBooks available below. Some of the other understandings will be discussed in this series in upcoming posts.
To be continued.
Please enter the silence of contemplation.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: [Visitors to the site are being given access into the consciousness "in real time" in order to see exactly how the understanding unfolded, step-by-step, as every part of the vision - and The Understanding - eventually became clear. What is being quoted (in green) are the revelations that were emanating from the inner resource - that is, via the pure consciousness ... the inner guru - as the final blockages were falling away and allowing access to that which had always been known, within.]
Next, during the study of the content of the vision, almost as if in some "stream-of-pure-consciousness," one point after another came:
Maharaj: "At present, 'I am' is in the beingness state. But, when I do not have the knowingness of the 'I am' illusion, then the 'Poornabrahman' or 'Parabrahman' state (Supreme Reality state or Ultimate Reality state) prevails. In the absence of the touch of 'I Amness' I am the total complete, 'Poornabrahman' state, the permanent state. The borderline of beingness and non-beingness is intellect-boggling, because the intellect subsides at that precise location. This borderline is the 'maha-yoga' [Sanskrit, "the great yoga"]. You must be at that borderline, that 'maha-yoga' state'. You descend into the 'godown' of that state which has the title 'birth'."
Then, regarding the eagle: ... at the end of the tunnel, you can see nothing other than light. "As the physical fades, there is simply energy ... light. The body-cum-consciousness ends; the energy remains. So all else is darkness, therefore, except for the light coming from the crystal cave."
Then, Maharaj again: "The borderline of beingness and non-beingness is intellect-boggling, because the intellect subsides at that precise location."
Next, "As with beingness and non-beingness, the location of the cave is one of contrasts: the bright light coming from the dome vs. the darkness throughout the rest of the cave. The reflected light of the dome striking the crystals ... the darkness below. Duality is present, but then ...."
Maharaj: "... The intellect subsides at that precise location."
Then from the vision: To your left and to your right drift millions of forms, and on closer inspection, You see that they are . . . You! Each looks to be a clone maybe a transparent clone but a clone nevertheless of You!
Followed by: "Again, though, the capacity for understanding remains even at that point. Yet it is something beyond that capacity that knows ... that understands ... which grasps the fact that ... millions of forms ... are . . . You! That is obviously via the inner resource, working as one with the Awareness."
Then, "Beyond there is the movement to the portal ... to the light ... to the Absolute when the Awareness moves totally from a state of beingness to non-beingness and beyond (and reaches that Original State and its Original Nature). At that point, the intellect ends. The borderline has been crossed."
Some are familiar with the story of Andy Gugar, Jr.'s first visit here when it was suggested that, "if there is a fear of death, then go ahead and die now."
What became clear via the vision was this: the death of ego - the end of the false sense of personhood and the false sense of being "a spiritual being" - happens at the point where (in the vision) the raven transforms into the no-knowing gull.
Yet something else can be understood if all of the messages of the vision are understood: the "go ahead and die now" - the "let ego die" message - served as a pointer to other dimensions of the understanding, namely, the various "legs" that were alluded to earlier:
LEG ONE of "the journey" covers the manifestation of consciousness and then its subsequent corruption / blocking via programming, conditioning, acculturation, and domestication to the point that body identification is reached;
LEG TWO of "the journey" is covered in the vision and reveals the process of "going back" ... of reversing out of the relative in the opposite manner by which the coming in happened;
LEG THREE involves taking all that is Realized and subsequently returning to a condition of sanity and logic and reason during the relative. There is an overlaying of Reality on the relative existence. In so doing, THAT and the AM-ness are one and the remainder of the manifestation will unfold spontaneously and naturally in a way as sane as that adhered to by all living things on the planet (with the key exception of humans);
Finally, there will be the Unmanifesting, and that will happen in exactly the same was as LEG TWO. The reason the Realized have no "fear of death" is because LEG TWO was a "practice run," so to speak. For the masses, "dying" is a mystery ... a scary proposition. "What's going to happen?" and "What is to become of me?"
For the Realized, the answers are clear. For the Realized to look at the approaching event that persons call "dying" is to look at something quite familiar. Why? Because LEG TWO was completed. Because the happening that persons call "dying" is a "been-there-done-that" event among the Realized.
The response to the "go ahead and die now" advice for the Realized is "already went ahead and 'died' during LEG TWO, thank you very much."
Therefore, as far as the "What's going to happen?" question, the answer is perfectly clear: Nothing.
As far as the "What's to become of me?" question, the answer is "Nothing ... and that's just fine."
Thus, the Realized can acknowledge what might be called - for the sake of discussion - "LEG FOUR: the Final Unmanifesting of This Specific Speck."

What is being quoted (in green) are the revelations that were emanating from the inner resource - that is, via the pure consciousness ... the inner guru - as the final blockages were falling away and allowing access to that which had always been known, within.]
[I then continued with the look at the role of "intellect," that is, the capacity for understanding]
To review: turning back to the vision, it was seen that the capacity for understanding also still remains even as the crystal cave is crossed and as the trek up the steps to the dome are taken.
Then, this came: "The capacity to understand remains even as the final vestiges of Awareness during the manifestation remain, Awareness among the Realized being able to see all of the universes and to know that the Awareness - just one of many specialized forms of energy - was present for all of those."
Then this: "Whoa! Energy. At the most basic level, this scientific fact can be understood: all is energy-matter. Neither can be created. Neither can be destroyed. There is scientific proof that there's no creator! Nothing is created. Nothing is destroyed. The ancients with their creator-sustainer-destroyer gods - which were all rolled into one with Abraham, making a single schizo god of creation, sustenance, and destruction - all fiction. And THAT'S why in the vision the raven had to come to an end, and fairly early on during 'the journey': the body that carries about the belief that there's some spirit inside - something 'spiritual' inside which can develop 'a spiritual malady' - nonsense! I'm blown away by how much this vision can reveal!"
To continue:
The capacity to understand remains even then; thus, it was concluded: "So the capacity for understanding remains even up to that final point in the vision."
Yet it is something beyond that capacity which knew ... which understood ... which grasped the earlier realization that ... millions of forms ... are . . . You!
Then this came: "So that capacity for understanding came via the inner resource as the Awareness knew that it was moving back, closer and closer, second by second, to that no-place place (that no-specific-but-universal-'place') from which it had first come. Even then the 'intellect' had not yet 'subsided'."
The vision reported: There is only the slightest vestige of any you as you draw closer and closer to ... You. "That sounds like subsidence of the intellect is beginning."
Then it was recalled that Maharaj had said, "World is experiential but 'You,' the Absolute, are non-experiential"
and then
"This 'you-are' experience has come .... "
He coaxed his listeners to go to the borderline, because he understood that it is at the borderline between (1) THAT (the Absolute) and (2) the experiential, relative existence that Reality is discovered.
Maharaj: "The borderline between 'i am' and 'i am not' (that is, "beingness" and "non-beingness") is the precise location where the intellect subsides. It is the Mahayoga state. Be there!"
So Reality can only be known during the manifestation and only if the consciousness has been unblocked and the Awareness is aware of ItSelf.
Then, I recalled how willingly I saw the dissolution as millions merged with the light at the dome and how willingly I stepped forward. No fear. No trepidation. Just a pervasive sense that "everything is going to be okay." And upon "returning" to the relative post-vision / post-Realization existence, it was that sense which had prevailed ever since.
Maharaj spoke of that same sense that came to him post-Realization, a sense of fearlessness and courage that comes when one finally understands what most will never understand and thereafter no longer have "a fear of the unknown" because there is no longer "the unknown." There is the complete understanding of the functioning of the totality. All is clear. Here's the way Maharaj described it:
"I do not need convictions, I live on courage. Courage is my essence, which is love of life. I am free of memories and anticipations, unconcerned with what I am and what I am not. I am not addicted to self-descriptions, soham and brahmasmi ('I am He', 'I am the Supreme'); these are of no use to me, I have the courage to be as nothing and to see the world as it is: nothing. It sounds simple, but just try it!"
That's also the invitation here: "Just try it!"

What is being quoted (in green) are the revelations that were emanating from the inner resource - that is, via the pure consciousness ... the inner guru - as the final blockages were falling away and allowing access to that which had always been known, within.]
A prior post left off with this:
Is that an invitation to go to the borderline, and then move even beyond that ... to the void? To the nothingness? Wow. This vision is packed chock full! So many of the final pieces of the puzzle which has been missing are now falling into place!
It was known that Maharaj had said that all of the riddles around "the journey" and Realization would be solved not by doing something but by doing nothing. Nothing was being done when the vision came. He also said that contact with the intuition that accompanies the I Am-ness can come if quiet and focused contemplation happens.
He said too that it is at the borderline where full access to that "intuition" is "realized and held." It was also understood that the borderline had been spoken of as the borderline of beingness and non-beingness, the borderline where the intellect "subsides."
Already read and discounted was the suggestion by some that the borderline is crossed midway during the "going back" - the reversing process - when the mind and belief in personas end as the Child No-Knowing Stage or Child Ignorance Stage is reached once again.
That was accepted for a while, but once it was clear what "intellect" actually referred to, then it was concluded that such had to be a misperception. Because "intellect" merely refers to the capacity for understanding (and because a child has that capacity, though the capacity cannot be used yet at the earliest level of childhood) then that could not be the borderline.
Also, it was clear that at the level of Pure Witnessing, the capacity for understanding was still present there as well.
What suddenly became clear was this: "Even at the Child No-Knowing Stage, where there is no body or mind or personality identification, the capacity to understand is there. In fact, it's at that point during the 'going back' that the elimination of the mind and the elimination of belief in the validity of any and all formerly-assigned-or-assumed-personas sets the stage for the totally unadulterated and untainted understanding to happen. Only then can the honesty required for Realization manifest."
Then this came almost as a "side note": "Consider honesty for a moment. Has it ever occurred to You that the only 'relationship' you've ever seen that 'lasted' was the one between a Realized teacher and a devoted, earnest seeker?"
and
"Actually, doesn't the honesty reach its pinnacle when there is an honesty-based 'relationship' (actually a unicity) between you and the inner guru? When there are no obstructions blocking full access to that inner resource? Are you seeing the reason that the concept of 'relationship,' which is complete fiction in non-dual terms, always proves to be such an absurdity when played out in the relative? Other than the seeker-guru paradigm (which is as non-dual as the summative statement 'I AM THAT; I AM'), all 'relationships' will eventually become a compost in which dishonesty thrives."
Then it became clear: "That is why 'relationships' are dismissed among non-dualists as 'merely another conceptualization'; the understanding of that pointer comes in light of the understanding of 'Unicity' and "Love.' Yes, I have shared with seekers that 'husbanding' or 'wifing' can happen even in the absence of the assumption of the role of 'The Husband' or 'The Wife.' And because roles are ultimate dishonesty, then all that comes with them is dishonesty. How could 'Truth' possibly be known if there is dishonesty, and there will be dishonesty if there is the presence of even a single role, including the 'good' ones like the third-step 'Religious One' or the third-step 'Spiritual Giant'."
Suddenly, an Oscar Wilde quote sprang into consciousness: "The one charm about marriage is that it makes a life of deception absolutely necessary for both parties."
Then this came: "But isn't that true of every so-called, conceptual 'relationship'? Employer-employee; politician-supporter; world leader #1-world leader #2; the preacher-the laity; the priest-the congregant; the criminal-the investigator; the parent-the child; the teacher-the student; ad infinitum."
Next, this came: "Belief in any duality, including the dualistic concept of 'relationship,' will always generate chaos. The master addiction among humans is an addiction to control, and the secondary addiction is to power in order to be able to control. And both power and control are nothing more than concepts. Thus, 'relationships' become the playing field where control-chaos games are played. Peace can only come with an understanding of the Unicity and Love! Wow! Some deeper understanding is trying to break out!"]
I picked up a copy of the vision and began re-reading, and at the end of that reading came this: "Everything in the relative is about relationship / two-ness / a sense of separation. The body is outside the arch; the mind is separated from reality; the personas, even the 'good' ones as represented by the religious / spiritual at the third step, separate; the child is separate from the parent; the subject-object witnessing witnesses duality; the Pure Witnessing sees the unicity but that pure, manifested consciousness will not last as such."
Then came: ... millions of forms ... are . . . You!
"Not 'in relationship with You' but just ... 'You'."
Then, "If the consciousness is unblocked and Awareness is Aware of ItSelf, then YOU ARE Maharaj"
and
"If the consciousness is blocked and Awareness is not Aware of ItSelf, then YOU ARE Hitler."
Then, "Hey, wait just a minute. I call 'BS' on that," followed immediately by "WHO is calling BS on that? What egotism-driven ego-state is refusing to hear that pointer?" followed by "Oh my ... mine."
Then, the words from that speck of consciousness called "Maharaj" came: "Only that person will visit this place whose virtue and sin have come to an end."
And it was understood: "There is no truth to good vs. evil and virtuous vs. sinful dualities, or any dualities. So what is there instead?"
And then the voice of pure consciousness which allowed Awareness to be Aware of ItSelf" came: "Ignorance, stupidity, and insanity."
"Whoa."

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: [Continued from yesterday] Pausing at that point to reflect on what the content of the vision had revealed so far and to determine if there was anything else that was to be made clear before moving on, it was seen why knowledge - "learned ignorance" - was not only unnecessary for Realization but was a hindrance ... a major stumbling block.
Maharaj had mentioned "intuition" instead, and it was seen that it is intuition - not knowledge - that allows the inner guru / inner resource to be tapped. Maharaj had mentioned "the intellect" and "wisdom," and it had become clear that intellect - the capacity to understand - is the necessary ingredient.
That is why Maharaj did not refuse those he knew to be "ignorant, stupid, and insane" - because he had experienced his own stupidity and ignorance and insanity and knew that the sincere, dedicated seeker could overcome those obstacles and Realize. Yet he did reject those stuck at the raven level, at the third-step level ...
... where they were playing their "Super Religious" role and their "Spiritual Giant" roles,
... where such types stood in the dim light of dawn but believed most ignorantly that they were being bathed in the full light of the noonday sun,
... where they were sure that they had reached the end of "the journey" when they had not even passed the midway point and
... where they were not willing to listen to reason and logic but were there to proselytize and to try to reinforce their false "good" roles and their phony "good" image.
Those types he cast out from the loft; by contrast, some who sometimes asked ignorant or stupid or insane questions were allowed to remain, and he shared the non-dual message with them. He dispensed the Ultimate Medicine to address their Ultimate Sickness. Why? Because he had experienced his own former ignorance and stupidity and insanity.
It was determined at that point in the review of the messages in the vision that his method was a wise and sane approach and that it would be followed here. That is why - after having experienced my own former ignorance and stupidity and insanity - that persons with those obstacles are accepted, worked with, and answered when they ask their questions if they are sincerely seeking.
Why would anyone that has been given the Ultimate Medicine decide that the Ultimately Sick were not welcome ... that only the Truly Well could come? That stance in itself would be totally ignorant, stupid, and insane.
During the days when satsang was offered regularly here, and during certain retreats offered here even now, those marked by "ignorance" are welcomed as was the case with Maharaj, it having been seen that they could have the potential to overcome their obstacles to Realization if those obstacles can be removed so that they can tap into their inner capacity to understand.
But just as Maharaj refused to allow the arrogant to try to influence those who had come to hear the truth, so too will those types be cast aside here as well. They might require, as does the tea, more time to steep to reach a point where the full flavor and essence can be accessed and enjoyed. It may require more time before they are open and ready to move beyond the raven stage. Or, sometimes tea can be too weak to ever reach a point of readiness. Whatever.
Moreover, when confronted by those among the masses who will never move beyond the raven stage (who will forever play their false-and-phony-and-pretentious-religious-and-spiritual-roles), there is not an iota of energy that is expended here when it is seen that they will steadfastly refuse to listen to any pointers that could potentially allow them to shift to the gull stage and the eagle stage and to Full Realization. There is simply a spontaneous movement away from those types.
Far preferred is the quiet and the solitude over company if having company merely sets the stage for hearing nonsense. Few realize that companionship at any cost is its own form of imprisonment and torture.
[Maharaj was asked, long after his wife had taken mahasamadhi, why he had not remarried. He said, I am married ... I am married to freedom!]
Maharaj knew that working with those types would be a waste of energy, so he cast them out if they proved to be immovably obstinate and disproportionally arrogant. Same here. If clients tell a naturopathic doctor that they refuse to take the recommended supplements that are required to rejuvenate damaged organs, that doctor does not then follow them home and try to force the supplements down their throats. That physician works with the willing. So too was the case with Maharaj, and it was seen that the case here must be the same.
Experience has shown that the levels of ignorance and the depth of programming and conditioning and the heights of egotism among those who assume religious and spiritual identities - and who are totally self-satisfied by the better-than image that they work endlessly to project - will avoid most opportunities to question their never-questioned beliefs (which are the greatest obstacle of all to their ever Realizing and being free).
But can even those obstacles be overcome? Of course, because "maharaj" overcame those obstacles; "floyd" overcame those obstacles. It can happen, and must, because a grand leap from the second to the fourth step is impossible. The playing of phony "good" roles is as much a step on "the path" as any other, but those roles - like all - must be transcended if a seeker is to move along the remainder of "the path" and complete the entire "journey" (including ALL of the legs on that "trip").
All of that was seen via the vision and by looking at Maharaj's experience and at my own.
To be continued.

A DAILY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU
F.: [Visitors to the site are being given access into the consciousness "in real time" in order to see exactly how the understanding unfolded, step-by-step, as every part of the vision - and The Understanding - eventually became clear. What is being quoted (in green) are the revelations that were emanating from the inner resource - that is, via the pure consciousness ... the inner guru - as the final blockages were falling away and allowing access to that which had always been known, within.]
The last post left off reporting that this question came after investigating the three birds and their symbolism and relevance:
"So with these three birds representing different 'bodies' / 'stages,' might they also provide some simpler understanding of the very confusing and convoluted discussions about 'the gross, subtle, and causal bodies? Hummm."
"No ... wait. It's clear that the representation of the physical body or gross - the elemental plant food body - is presented prior to the birds: it's that body that's left outside the arch. That's the body-cum-consciousness which needs gross food, drink and air.
"But what about the subtle body? That's the vehicle of consciousness and the vehicle of desires and the vehicle that also houses the mind and intellect, so in the vision that would be the body walking through trees and across water. I know Maharaj said that body is 'created with the emergence of the ‘I am’ idea' and 'is momentary. Real when present, unreal when over.'
"In the vision, that's also before the birds appear, so the birds aren't representing either of those 'bodies.' That leaves the causal body that many in the East consider to be a higher subtle body, beyond even the mental body that was seen moving through the arch. Seems I read that when belief in personality ends, the 'essence' of You is absorbed into the causal body ... or shifts to the causal body form?
"In the vision, that happens when the raven - when belief in the religious-spiritual self - comes to an end and is transformed into the gull. So that's where the birds come in. But I also read that there will eventually come an awareness of all 'others' and that there will no longer be anything 'seen' as another - as an 'other' - and that what will then seen is the unicity, Love, wisdom, bliss, everythingness, nothingness.
"So that begins with the manifestation of the gull and comes into its fullness in the cave":
To your left and to your right drift millions of forms, and on closer inspection, You see that they are . . . You! Each looks to be a clone maybe a transparent clone but a clone nevertheless of You!
Then, it was recalled that Maharaj taught: " ... there is something that may be called the memory body, or causal body, a record of all that was thought, wanted and done. It is like a cloud of images held together."
At that point, what flashed into consciousness was "Jung" and "archetypes" and the genetic codes serving as a storehouse of images of the entire human experience."
Then I went back to the readings and found this:
Maharaj: " ... what prevents the insight into one’s True Nature is the weakness and obtuseness of the mind and its tendency to skip the subtle and focus on the gross only."
It became clear that the gross body is required for the manifestation of consciousness but that there's so much more to grasp beyond that. It also became clear that the focus and preoccupation with the gross body had to be transcended in order for any understanding of that which is beyond the physical only to manifest. Yet it was also clear that it was not the Am-ness that had to be forsaken but merely the tendency to focus on the gross alone. I searched for another passage that flashed into consciousness at that moment and found this:
Maharaj: "Abandon all self-concern; worry not about your welfare, material or spiritual; abandon every desire, gross or subtle; stop thinking of achievement of any kind. You are complete here and now, you need absolutely nothing."
"Yes! There it is. Confirmation of what I was concluding about the raven coming to end - bringing to an end the playing of the false religious and false spiritual roles. 'Worry not about ... [the] material or [the] spiritual.' Abandon it all! Yes!"
Then another passage flashed into consciousness and the readings were searched through again until this was found:
Maharaj: "Your true being is entirely unself-conscious, completely free from all self-identification with whatever it may be ... gross, subtle or transcendental"
as well as this exchange:
M: "Again, you take yourself to be the body."
Questioner: "Even if I dismiss this body of bones, flesh and blood as not-me; still I remain with the subtle body made up of thoughts and feelings, memories and imaginations. If I dismiss these also as not-me, I still remain with consciousness, which also is a kind of body."
M: "You are quite right, but you need not stop there. Go beyond."
"Beyond the three bodies? Is that an invitation to go to the borderline, and then move even beyond that ... to the void? To the nothingness?" Wow. This vision is packed chock full! So many of the final pieces of the puzzle which had been missing are now falling into place! Now to find where the borderline is ... and what the borderline is."

[Please note: When the Direct Path Teaching Method is offered in conjunction with the Nisarga Yoga, something unique results when compared to what happens via the approach used by religions, spiritual movements, philosophies, ideologies, etc.:
rather than inviting seekers to learn more, the invitation here is to unlearn all; rather than offerings teachings, what is offered are unteachings; rather than offering to provide seekers more of anything, seekers will find that the process will take away everything. And via that process, the bliss of Your Original Nature will manifest and remain until mahasamadhi is taken.
To that end, the content of this book will seem radical to the seekers of more, but for those truly ready to be totally free and totally independent - and for those who are truly ready to abandon efforts to accumulate and to de-accumulate instead - the pointers in this book might be relevant.]

SHIFTING THE FOCUS FROM THAT WHICH DOES NOT WORK TO THAT WHICH DOES, Part One
A "movement" or "shift" happened here that added another parallel to the many parallels in terms of the phenomenal "experiences" and the noumenal revelations that "Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj" and "Floyd" share in common. (Many visitors over the years have said that they also shared the same parallels with "Maharaj" and "Floyd" as well.)
In the case of "Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj" and "Floyd":
1. both grew up in very poor families 2. both moved to populated areas to seek employment opportunities 3. both exhibited business skills that led to their opening and operating many businesses and to their having a large number of employees working for them 4. both succeeded financially 5. both became attached to accumulating; 6. both married and had a family 7. both were initially religious 8. both moved away from organized religion and became interested in "spiritual" matters, finding and following the teachings of a big name teacher (or, in "Floyd's" case, many big name teachers) 9. both had highly religious wives who were quite displeased with the shift away from religion and toward "spirituality" 10. both began to feel empty in spite of all of their "spiritual seeking" and in spite of all of their accumulated "spiritual knowledge";

11. both began to de-accumulate after both saw that they could survive quite well on a fraction of the income they had been making
12. both had wives who were unhappy when the de-accumulation stage was entered and both had wives who became unhappy about their husbands' focus on non-duality and who blamed their unhappiness on no longer having a religious husband
(The facts be known, in both cases the unhappiness involved the fact that their husbands were no longer interested in - or willing - to work 80+ hours per week and that their husbands were no longer interested in accumulating wealth and possessions and providing the rich lifestyle to which their wives had grown accustomed)
13. both eventually came to see that the religious and spiritual states were also ego-states, and both saw that there are far more steps on the "path" to complete after reaching the religious and spiritual steps and after playing those roles which are the third of seven steps on the entire "path" 14. both "lost" their wives (one via "death," the other through divorce); 15. both accelerated their seeking; 16. both entered into the "forest dweller stage" 17. both Realized 18. both began to de-accumulate even more
19. both began sharing the teachings 20. for years, both answered questions in whatever order those questions were received, though both said that the movement from identification with the false "I" / "I's" involved an exact, step-wise manner of moving along a "path" that involved "going back" in the same (but reverse order) of the way they "came in" - that is, the way that the manifestation happened and the way that the consciousness was blocked through seven stages that resulted in their becoming identified solely with their false personas, with the content of the "mind," and eventually, with the body. But the most significant awareness that finally came to both after years of offering satsang and after having answered thousands and thousands of questions was this: After years of "Maharaj" offering satsang in his loft, and after years of "Floyd" offering satsang in meeting halls and in his home and via what one site visitor called "Floyd's electronic loft," this fact became obvious to both: "Maharaj" came to see in the 1970's and into 1980 and 1981 that his approach was not working and "Floyd" finally came to see the same.

21. Both saw that many who heard the teachings are not going to understand (Maharaj reporting that "only 1 in 100,000 are going to 'get' this" understanding)
22. both soon saw that even more than expected of those who heard the teachings were not going to understand (Maharaj modifying his "guesstimate" and reporting that "only 1 in 1,000,000 are going to 'get' this" understanding)
23. eventually both saw that even far more than expected of those who heard the teachings were not going to understand (Maharaj eventually concluding that "only 1 in 10,000,000 are going to 'get' this" understanding). And the failings were not the fault of seekers.
A "one -in-ten-million" estimate is proof that satsang was not working for most seekers, and the evidence here lately is proof of the same.
Both "Maharaj" and "Floyd" invited seekers to focus on the exact, step-wise "path." Yes, during satsang, "Maharaj" sometimes alluded to the steps while discussing them in no particular order - but he never once laid out the steps in the exact order in which they had to be completed. That was not his teachings style or approach.
Therefore, another movement or shift is happening here spontaneously after reflecting on the more than two decades since the teachings were first offered here and looking at the results of Maharaj sharing pointers in his loft and looking at the results of "Floyd" sharing pointers in this electronic loft: Looking objectively at his results, Maharaj's satsang method of sharing - in the end and by his own admission (only "one out of 10,000,000") - did not produce the intended outcome.
Looking objectively at the results here when using an "electronic loft" satsang method of sharing has not produced the intended outcome nearly as often as any of the three "face-to-face" methods used with seekers by which they have been led through the seven steps in order.
Here, the body is growing older, of course. Mahasamadhi could be taken today, or it could be taken in twenty years.
Obviously, that cannot be known. But the decision here has been made that whatever amount of the relative existence remains shall be spent in sharing the teachings in the ways that have been seen over the last 20+ years to be the most effective methods.
Looking back over the list of those that have truly received the understanding, it is seen that Robert R. read all of the books, then took the online Advaita course and then completed some face-to-face Skype sessions to receive the final clarifications required. It was seen that Mac read all of the books, completed the online course, and then attended a retreat where he was guided through the seven steps. Mac said that the online course work inspired him to attend the retreat in order to be able to receive the final "pieces." It was seen that Andy Gugar, Jr. read all of the books, then came here for a retreat and was taken through the seven steps in order, and then returned once more for the final clarifications required. After reviewing the shifts that happened with him after attending two retreats, he reaffirmed this past week his commitment to helping spread the non-duality, nisarga understanding as presented here. As a result of seeing what has "worked" during the last 20+ years of sharing the non-duality understanding - and seeing what had not "worked" as well - changes will be made.
SHIFTING THE FOCUS FROM THAT WHICH DOES NOT WORK TO THAT WHICH DOES, Part Two

SHIFTING THE FOCUS FROM THAT WHICH DOES NOT WORK TO THAT WHICH DOES, Part Two
In "Part One," examples were given of seekers that were led to Realization not by satsang but by following the various protocols outlined farther down this page which provide the understanding in the step-wise, orderly, required fashion which moves seekers along a "path" that is as prescribed by Maharaj ... "going back" in the "reverse order" by which the consciousness manifested and became blocked.
However, conversations with some that just read the majority of the books have revealed that they certainly seem to have grasped the understanding and Realized as well.
As a result of seeing what has "worked" during the last 20+ years of sharing the non-duality understanding - and seeing what has "not worked" as well - changes are being made.
There are seven specific steps that happen when awareness-energy is "pulled" into a cycle of manifestation. When that energy manifests as conscious-energy, that formerly pure and unadulterated energy becomes "corrupted" (or "blocked" from seeing clearly) via programming, conditioning, domestication, acculturation, and brainwashing. Soon, there is a belief in the not-Real as a result of seven degrees of separation from an understanding of the Real.
Using the method that was also employed by his contemporaries - a method which focused on offering non-duality pointers via satsang - Maharaj addressed questions in the order in which they were received. He might receive a question from a seeker at the third step and his reply would include what amounted to an invitation to move to the fourth step. The next question might come from a seeker at the first step, and the reply would include an invitation to move to the second step.
The information offered to the second seeker would seemingly contradict what was offered to the first seeker, so visitors who have come here for decades have asked questions which showed how confused they were by the fact that Maharaj's statements to each visitor in his loft were "level-appropriate" yet were provided in no precise order, resulting in what seemed to be an inconsistent message.
So the process overall was confusing in that
seekers were told to follow the "path back" in the same way that they "came in," except in reverse order,
but
pointers were not given in a specific, step-wise order at all.
Maharaj did recognize the seven steps that are taught here, but by offering the teachings in an order that was dictated by the order in which questions were received from seekers who were at different steps on the "path," the result was this:
a pointer about moving beyond the fourth step might be followed by a pointer about moving beyond the first step, and that pointer might be followed by a pointer about how to move beyond the sixth step.
The same was done on this site for seven years. The result is a collection of 1,800 or so essays discussing almost every non-duality topic that can be discussed, and the search button on the top right side of this page will now allow seekers with a question about a specific topic to find an explanation. That method, however, will never provide the manner in which the seven steps on the "path" must be transmitted and received in order to Realize Fully.
An objective study of the history here of more than twenty years of offering non-duality pointers reveals this: seekers that were given pointers in the exact order in which they needed to receive them were the ones that Realized.
They read the books, then they completed the online course and / or completed seven Skype or telephone sessions or came here for a retreat (or watched the downloadable DVD version of an actual retreat, available below).
Some found that which they were seeking by reading the author's book that deal with non-duality subject matter. Via all of those venues, the steps are taught in their proper order.
The essays available on this site will remain for those interested in searching for a discussion of a particular non-duality topic without charge, but the focus here until mahasamadhi is taken is going to be on offering the teachings in the step-wise fashion that has been seen to work.
